[Q] Google backup - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

I have flashed an ICS rom and when I created my google account to sync I unchecked backup my data. Is there a way to enable that again without having to remove the google account and add it again?

You can change the options from your account page from google. You need to login to google and easiest way would be using web browser from your pc.

Where do I need to go. I have tried logging into gmail but didn't see it there. Then I logged into to google and looked at the dashboard and didn't see it there. There is a lot of stuff so I am unsure as to where I need to look for it.

Remove and re-add google account to take advantage of google apps account transition?

Hi All
The main account on my Desire Z is the account I use for my business, which was setup as a google apps account, it works fine for email etc but was never able to be used for Picasa or other google applications.
However, they have just recently transitioned google apps accounts and now they can access all the google applications, however to get them working on your phone, the google website says I'd need to backup my phone, remove the account, factory reset and then readd the account...
I'm not sure I like the sound of this as potentiall I could lose things if I've not backed everything up etc...
Is there anyway I can do this without having to do a full reset? So I can use the newly accessible apps likes picasa etc
Thanks
I am having the same issue - my calendar no longer sync's correctly as it's still attached to the me%[email protected] address, even though it displays the 'merged' account [email protected] Very frustrating!

If you're worried about losing things because you haven't backed everything up then back everything up, it's pretty simple.
Download Titanium Backup or My Backup Pro and back up your apps and data; after you reset your phone, restore your apps and data

I realise that but was just wondering if a reset was actually necessary or not?

I’m running a gingerbread build and I can just go to Accounts & Sync and add a new gmail account and remove the old one.
I don’t know if that’s what you mean though.

[Q]Sync Internet

I am currently running an FC07 rom and under the Google sync settings there is one called Sync internet. This always fails. What exactly does that sync?
The complete internet .....lol
Your bookmarks....

That is what I thought but it gives me an error every time even though the bookmarks have been synced

Internet Sync
This works with your Google+ account. It will sync your pictures from there. They took away Facebook sync because it was a violation to Android TOS.
the solution is here

its the sync settings in chrome!
In google chrome settings via a computer, There is a hyperlink to google dashboard. Go there and down to Chrome Sync, Reset and delete chrome data. Then in Chrome settings reset sync and do NOT set it to "encrypt all data" just use the fist option "encrypt with password",
Problem fixed.
just to clarify...
It syncs your open tabs in cromebrowser as well as your bookmarks cross platforms... so from every device you run chrome browser on and are logged in to your account.
ps. would like to know if my posts helped.... reporting back or a thank you would be appreciated.

Changing Google Play Account on Kindle Fire

I just spent a ridiculous amount of time trying to figure out what turned out to be a simple answer. Not having found the answer anywhere online, I'll post it here in case someone else is going through the same thing.
I rooted my son's Kindle Fire with KFU (thanks to everyone who has contributed scripts & helpful postings on that topic), launched Google Play and made a mistake by logging in under his older google account. Although the Google help claimed I should be able to switch to any account currently in use on the device simply by going to menu | accounts under Google Play, it was failing to recognize his other account, which was in use for email, and Google Play wouldn't let me configure an additional account.
The key: The account must be in use in another *Google* application (seems obvious in hindsight). If email is only set up with the original Kindle email app, the google system doesn't see it, and only some of the google apps have the "add account" function.
Solution: Use Google Play under the "wrong" account to download the free GMail app. Setup GMail with the "right" account. Return to Google Play. Menu | Accounts | select the newly set up account and you're good to go.
You should have been able to add another account under settings / accounts & sync / add account / Google.

on stock there shoudl be an app called "Account and Sync Settings" or something to that effect, you'll need to add the new Account.
then when you log into the market you can go to settings and account and select the other as the default account..
BUT: This isn't always 100% I've had issues where where it occasionally reverts back to the initial account.
Google really makes it a PITA when this happens.. I wiped my phone and did this exact thing, and it felt like it was pretty much a pain.
Works Great

Thanks a lot for the solution. Gmail was the key to adding another account. Once I created the Gmail account for the new corrected account, I was able to choose that profile in other parts of Google (like Play Games) on the Fire.
Then, how do you delete the wrong account ?
Thank you so much !
I am using a Fire HD 10 (2017) and my wife accidentely added her Google account below my profile. Since the stock version does not provide "Account and Sync" below settings: how can I remove a Google account from my profile? Removing the account from the device using another device does now work since the device always tries to re-authenticate the removed account. This is driving me insane. As a bonus the Gmail app crashes since then...

Cannot seem to get chrome bookmark sync on default android browser.help!!

When I first got my phone in the stock browser I could create bookmarks and store them either locally or on my google account. After soft bricking and restoring everything to stock i now have only local bookmarks. Everything else about my phone works fine, including all google account sync except for bookmarks.
Anyone else had this problem?
Anyone fixed it?

I had a hell of a time to get the bookmarks to sync, when it finally did it didn't work right and only synced some. I ended up fixing it by installing Chrome. I don't really use Chrome, but bookmarks now properly sync for the stock browser...
Clear data for the stock browser (Settings > Application manager > Scroll to the "All" tab > select the Internet app > hit "Clear data").
Then, under your Google account settings un-check "Internet", perform a sync, then check "Internet" again and let it pull the bookmarks.
This should hopefully take care of it.
I don't see a setting for "internet" anywhere in my google account settings. Would you mind clarifying? Thanks for the help

Merging Google Accounts?

Okay when I flash a new ROM I allow it to automatically restore apps I have on Account A, we'll call it. For some dumb reason I have half my apps installed under "Account A" and half under "Account B". Is there any way I can merge them all into one account to make my life easier?
Not that I know of, but you could always use titanium backup to backup all your apps before a flash and restore after.

Not that I have been able to find. And I researched this capability a few months ago.
You can sync several Google accounts for email, calendar, etc.
But from what I've found, you can only have one Play Store account.
And no way to easily transfer apps from one account to the other without re-purchasing them.
