Whose importing a One X? - HTC One X

Well, I just ordered one from Handtec... Wish I had a cheaper hobby...
I've always been a Sense fan, and I'm looking forward to trying the phone out. It's really going to have to be great though to beat my current phone (Galaxy Note International.)
Who else has ordered from across the pond? Who'd you order from?

What's the turnaround from those guys?

I'll let you know... Their site says it's in stock.
I did order a little late their time (4:30pm I think) so I wouldn't expect shipment today but I'd hope it goes out tomorrow.

Cool--I was thinking of ordering from Expansys USA or Negri potentially since they are US based, but would consider importing if the cost wasn't a lot more and I could have it sooner.

It might be a hassle if there was anything wrong with the phone, but it's not more expensive. Even with shipping my total came to $681 shipped and that was WITH the HTC sleeve (not in stock.)
I think it will also be faster as long as they get it shipped in a reasonable time frame. It says delivery in 2-4 days after it's shipped, which is about what it would be from a US seller unless you pay for expedited shipping.
I e-mailed Negri when they expected to receive theirs and never got a reply, so that's why I went to Handtec.

Negri tweeted out this morning they are expecting to ship out on Friday. So delivery next week.
I am also thinking of going with Handtec, they are cheaper and will most likely get you the phone this week.

I have a preorder with Negri, placed last week. They reckon both colors should be arriving around Friday, but black might be just slightly sooner to arrive. No info on whether they have enough stock in the first shipment to cover all current preorders.

Just ordered a white One X from Handtec today as well, to Vancouver, says 1-4 days when i ordered... which hopefully translates to thursday or friday.

Do you have to pay Some kind of import tax if you in the US/Canada?

I'm in Australia right now and the retail stores are selling "Optus software unlocked" versions for $658 AUD. Would you buy an Optus unlocked phone if your intention is to use it in the U.S.? Is it possible to get future software updates if they will most likely be pushed out by Optus? I'll be in the States probably on T-Mobile. Thanks.

yep ordered through clove and they should be shipping tomorrow to new york. just hope i can get it this week, and not next :/
this is my first phone im ordering over seas, if there is a software update does it still get pushed to our phones? been wondering that. thought it might matter that im not on their carriers out there.

Absolutely. You will get updates directly from HTC anywhere long as you have access to the Internet which I'm sure you do

That is what i figured, just wasn't sure. Thanks!

I have an order from negrielectronics.com that I placed last week. I have gotten an email answering my question about possible dates for shipment, and the response was something to the effect: "We don't any phones in stock and are not sure when we will get them". I kinda wish i found Handtec selling them sooner, I payed about $675 for only the phone ><.

I definitely agree for unbranded factory unlocked phones. But is this also true of carrier branded phones with bloatware? Don't updates then go through the carrier? And if so, can you still get the updates if you don't use the carrior's simcard?

It appears Phones4U are taking preorders on Galaxy Nexus for delivery on 16th November. Only on Orange at the moment. (here)

Cant wait to get my hands on this one, I've used many Android phones, but this is by far the first phone that I'm actually really really excited about, can't wait
Waiting for it to land as an upgrade on Vodafone. Strangely, vodafone.ie has it listed on their coming soon page, but vodafone.co.uk doesn't... I'm (im)patently waiting...
Refreshing the page doesn't make it arrive quicker either

Ive preordered mine at clove. Paying full price, but I'm selling my SGSII to lessen the pain of paying full.
People think I'm mad selling my SGS2 for the Galaxy nexus, but I've always been a fan of the Nexus phones (had a Nexus One imported from the US when it was released).

I will keep my SGS II for some time and decide which one I prefer, then will sell one. Had SGS II for about 2 months and learned that I don't care about camera, 16GB storage is all I need and that I don't really care about gaming.
I'm only worried I might find Nexus to be too big.

though they still have the SGSII for @£425 (excluding marketplace sellers).

Ouch amazon thats way too much for a phone I am personally hoping they will drop the price just before release like the nexus s to a more reasonable level.
Keeping my GSII anyway and might upgrade my contract with Vodafone around Jan to get the Galaxy Nexus as well.
At those prices I'll be waiting until the new year to see if there's much discount.

The information your getting sounds normal. I ordered mine Tuesday and, the estimated shipping from FedEx said should receive it tomorrow. If you read the last few pages of Hantec shipment thread, you will see the same pattern.
If they have stock it seems to be taking only a day and a half from the time you order it.

1am Pacific on wednesday was about 5pm on Tuesday here. According to their blog post they should have shipped it yesterday. Having said that it must have been crazy busy there! I imagine it'll go out today if it hasn't already (fyi its 4am Thursday in the UK now)
But there's no way for me to track it. They gave me a confirmation number and that's it. No info on if it's been shipped yet.

(assuming you are in the usa and were considering waiting for the phone on verizon)
1. you paid $5 more than the unlocked gsm version of the phone will likely retail for in san francisco california ($650 * 1.085 = $705)
2. you are free to go to t-mobile, at&t, or any number of other gsm mvnos.
3. on t-mobile you can get a cheaper month-to-month plan than contract plan.
4. the verizon version is thicker and contains bloatware, not to mention is locked down to verizon. the monthly bill will be at least $80/mo for a new line and with a 4GB cap currently. you will probably pay $300 + tax at verizon, and locked into a $350 early termination fee. therefore you will pay the same amount as you just paid if for some reason you wanted to leave verizon.
5. more people on the planet will have the same version of the phone as you do. therefore you will reap the benefits of international android hackers more quickly.
6. gsm/hspa+ uses less battery than cdma/lte
7. you get it first
i could go on, but i hope that's enough to make you feel better
With the (probably) huge developer base, ice cream sandwich, easy root, no bloatware (I hate forced themes by manufacturers -.-), fastest updates by google + the modding community, how could it be a bad purchase?
$800 here
I just received mine from Handtec today. One thing you have to keep in mind is that FEDEX charges you the taxes and custom fees once it gets into your country. Mine was $700 but when it got to the local depot they called and said the extra charges come to just under $100. I live in Canada though and we have a fairly high sales tax as well as a provincial tax (%12 in total).
Nice thing was I ordered Tuesday morning and it got here 48 hours later.
Awesome phone!

Handtec has it for $631 and you'll get it overnight. It'll also be a UK phone vs. Malaysian which is what Expansys has been shipping. If you're rooting and ROM'ing it won't make a difference. Also, if you need warranty repairs, you have to send your phone to Expansys who then sends it to an overseas affiliate who sends it to HTC. If you buy it in the UK your warranty is with HTC directly.

I got mine from Amazon. Not the cheapest, however, you'll get your device overnight, the support is good, and you have 30 days time to return your Device without a reason, even if it is unlocked. If you want to get a Replacement, they send you the replacement overnight, and you can send your old phone back in the same package the new one came in. This is quite helpful if you have a one x with problems...
Plemix is legitimate, I used to get my phones from them. Their company should be located in HK, so I would guess the version should be asian. E-mail them to check, I remember them being pretty good at responding back.

someone in another thread said expansys is selling the malaysian model??? i don't know. the one i received came in a box that said taiwan, indicating taiwan production and system language choices were all european. in fact, american english was not an option - so i downloaded morelocale2 to get that. there is the option to use keyboards from a larger group of languages that include asia.
i would check with expansys re model being sold, as i imagine that could change depending on what's available in the supply chain.
i should add that in another thread another uk retailer was listed. i am sorry, i can't remember the name.

Release of SW2 in US?

According to Sony, it's not officially released in US yet. So where do you guys buying it from? I see it's being sold on Amazon (US) but is that an official Sony US retailer? Others mention eBay and someone mentioned a store in the mall (DC I think?), etc. I understand Amazon merchants could be from UK or in general outside of US, the same with ebay. So, are there any official US stores that sell it? And for those who bought it in US, where you able to contact Sony support (in US) to answer your questions?

Sony.com has both models in stock now for $199.99/$219.99. I just placed my order. There appears to be a glitch right now that allows you to get the 3 year replacement/accidental damage plan for free! Add the watch to the cart, but do not select a warranty plan. Edit the warranty plan within the card and for some reason the 3-year plan is $0. I used Chrome, if that matters....

newegg all the way. originally ordered from mobile fun, but after they backordered it for two weeks despite them having it listed as in stock and ready to ship, i cancelled and called newegg. the girl said they had about 76 in stock so i ordered it from them. 199 +25 for overnight shipping. ordered it friday and got it on monday.. ive had the watch for about week and i love it, even though the amount of apps is pretty depressing. give me a music widget and a battery percentage icon, and ill be good for a while. :good:

MobileFun is bad news. I ordered from them and wasn't even given a confirmation email. Very poor communication and their US phone number just rings. I had to get my credit card company involved to cancel my order. They said it was in stock when I ordered (Oct 15th) and wouldn't give me any further information on shipment or backorder status.

[Q] Where to get M8 Dev Edition?

I can't seem to find the page where you can buy the HTC One Dev edition. Does anyone else know where that link is? Thanks

http://shopamerica.htc.com/cell-phones/productdetail.htm?prId=42973 - $649.99, not too bad. $18.95 for overnight shipping too.

I found it and ordered one already
It took them 15min after 1pm EDT to update it so I was freaking out.
I opted for 2 day shipping for $9, as I didn't feel I needed it /that/ quickly
For me it says "Not available in your area", eventhough I am located in US.
Can anybody share the specs on M8 Dev edition from HTC's website? I am trying to find if it supports TMO-US bands.

I had the same error after trying to help my friend. It sometimes puts one in cart, but when you check out, it says out of stock. He called in after I completed my order and the lady said the site was down. Not sure what's going on. Also, if you go to the starting page, it's not even choose-able anymore.

HTC Dev edition not shipping until April 3rd. Confirmed via HTC sales/customer service rep i just talked to on phone. I cancelled. (As i will be on another coast after April 3rd). The only one shipping today are the carrier phones...
Not only does my order status for my M8 Developer Edition say it's picking, with a delivery estimate of 3/27, but the representative I spoke to on the phone said it'd be shipped out by Monday (31st) at the latest. So frankly, I'm not sure how seriously we should take these people
My order status just show its been cancelled, but I was still charged for it.
HTC really needs to get their stuff together. The phone might be great but there customer service is awful at this point.
Hope I can just flat out cancel if its true it wont be out till april.

Just got off the phone and they said it out be shipping until 4/3/2014....
Now im hearing that it might not work on Tmobile so yeah I just cancelled my order.
This really is silly. Why do carrier guys get their phones 9 days ahead? It should be those of us who are willing to drop the big money who get it sooner... I'm guessing that the GPE will also be out 4/3 though (kinda gives us a nice window). Man, I was waiting for weeks only to be let down by HTCs BS. Maybe I should just buy an S5...
Just ordered it on HTC.com. First thing I did after I order was to call their customer support. I mentioned that it says its free express shipping online so the lady over the phone upgraded my shipping from standard to overnight for free! Remember, it is free express shipping if you ordered it on HTC.com.
Also, the Developer edition phone comes out on 3/28/14 so we will have to wait till next week to get it.
A lot of people orders are getting canceled. The play store is resulting in the same too.

You would make a big mistake buying an S5, just be patient and wait for the devices to be available again and you won't be disappointed :good::highfive:

Yeah probably so
I ordered one from http://www.amazon.com/HTC-One-M8-Un...TF8&qid=1395792149&sr=8-5&keywords=htc+one+m8 on Amazon with prime overnight for $4, and although there's no in stock window it will probably be coming out about the same time as the one from HTC. Heck, Amazon ships super fast so it may come sooner XD
