[Q] why is this being on Sprint not getting much buzz talk here? - HTC One X

The rumor of it being on Sprint, that is.
Is sprint really that bad to be ignored now?

it's the same as the rumors for the GS III, not having been announced. there's no forum on xda for the GS III yet. the international isn't releasing for 3 more days, so i don't foresee ATT or Sprint having their version until May or June at the earliest.

Release date
From the numerous information that I have obtained over many many forums and insiders and reps, my guess right now is around Sept. 15th.
Again this is just my opinion. It has to be before Oct. which is why VZW's and Sprints have WinMo 6.1. 6.5 is to release in Oct. and neither wanted to wait that long so they are gonna release it before then and I am sure there will be a ROM update to convert to 6.5
I hope this helps a little. The VZW Rep list for "Coming Soon" devices only goes up to Sept. 8th for now.
Im really hoping its early Sept, i dont see why if it was gonna be around mid Sept they wouldnt just push it back till Oct and release it with Wm6.5 instead of doing an upgrade after its released.
HTC Touch Pro2 graces Verizon on September 11
As reported in Engadget:
http://www.engadget.com/2009/09/04/htc-touch-pro2-graces-verizon-on-september-11/
Verizon Touch Pro 2 9/11/09
Here's another one from engadget. Not sure if I should order it tomorrow or hold off a while with my TP1.
http://www.engadgetmobile.com/2009/...touch-pro2-prices-it-right-at-200-on-contrac/
Well, since I have AT&T and they are sitting on their ass I wish i could buy the VZ version, unlock it for AT&T. And we know for sure the VZ version has a 3.5mm jack.
What is interesting is that on the VZ website it shows GSM and CDMA radios.
http://news.vzw.com/news/2009/09/pr2009-09-10.html
Wonder if it would work on both networks.
I thought I'd be able to pick up my phone today before leaving on a birthday cruise for my wife, but was disappointed to find out the TP2 was available on line only.
I attempted to order on line twice, having the system hang up on the "accessories" tab, and had to call customer service to place my order. At least my phone will be waiting when I return next week. Now I can dream about my new toy "at sea"!

Denver 4G - anyone know when?

I've heard as early as July but I am wondering if anyone has any more info as to when it should launch. Sprint stores are saying October.

The Sprint store at 88th and Sheridan told me yesterday, FALL 2010. FWIW
That would pretty much be in line with October. *sigh*
yeah, and the article below was written 8/07 *sigh*x2

I know... And Qwest was said to be trialling a WiMax network in Denver last year too but I never heard anything about that project either.
Got an email from Sprint today, officially announcing 4g in Denver.

[Q] Galaxy Nexus Annoucement this Friday?

Already know that no one really knows what's going on with the release date, but I went to the Verizon store down the road from me, walked in and played stupid to see what I could find out. Of course they stated the obvious that it hasn't been released yet, BUT the Verizon rep I spoke with did say that they are expecting an announcement on the Galaxy Nexus on Friday.
This could mean alot of things. Maybe the announce a release date? Maybe they open up web only ordering? Maybe the announce a delay? (BOO) Or maybe they just do what we're all hoping and just released the phone already!!! Either way, I'm going to see that Verizon rep on Friday expecting positive Galaxy Nexus News!!!!!!
someone else wanted to give back n epic and the store clerk told them to bring it back friay and pre order the galaxy nexus. hmmm
It makes sense. Verizon would be crazy not to release it before Black Friday. Hopefully there's not a big window between pre-order and release date...
I wonder when Verizon's email early announcement will come to life. It was suppose to allow you to be "one of the first to receive a galaxy nexus." It would seem those folks should get word first.

Galaxy Note II Coming Soon to T-Mobile USA [Available Now].

http://www.t-mobile.com/shop/Phones...ll-phone=Samsung-Galaxy-Note-II-Titanium-Gray
Can't wait to upgrade soon.
EDIT: Was told by a T-Mobile rep that it will be released tomorrow. No official word on pricing yet though

AT&T please quit delaying. I want a new toy!
Is that one LTE enabled? What bands is it using if so?
Cant wait, finally due for an upgrade to my MT4G. Perfect timing for release.
The lady and I are looking forward to upgrade from our MT4Gs this month also. And I'm also hoping it will officially be future proofed with LTE.

Yes it will have lte, T-Mobile and Samsung have said so and the specs on the page have also said so, and this page was uploaded yesterday actually. Yet to get a concrete release date though

From the various announcement/rumors I listed here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=32952815&postcount=5
I would expect it to officially release next week as opposed to an announcement of release date. My biggest evidence is the internal memo to Tmo stores saying its gonna release on the 24th, but it is the same day as the Samsung announcement so possibly the 25th like sprint.

It cannot have LTE because T-Mobile does not have LTE.
Their "4G" is HSPA+ --- which the Note II *will* have-
There is nothing on the spec page about the Galaxy Note II for T-Mo having LTE.
Also, the "Launch Date" is October 24th for T-Mo

It can and does have an LTE radio in addition to the HSPA+ radio. It obviously won't be activated until T-mobile gets its LTE network up and running.

1) Yes, we know T-Mobile doesn't have a LTE network yet, but they will and the galaxy note 2 is supposed to support that network when it comes out (mid 2013)
2) I wouldn't trust the specs page much... yesterday the gray one was missing the 1900mhz band while the white one listed it. And many sources have said it does come with LTE support.
3) have you any sources? Outside of T-Mobile stating that its released on the 24th, its still a rumor (the internal document listing the 24th is a week and a half old, who knows if that's still valid)
Thus rendering your post almost useless...

Correct me if I'm wrong. But I have not seen any OFFICIAL word that it will have LTE. I have seen the leaked bands of the device from the FCC. BUT! until Tmobile or Samsung officially announce it. I won't believe it till I see or hear it.

T-mobile has no real incentive to promote the fact that it is compatible with a network it doesn't have yet.

No prob although this forum needs a wiki post right under the OP so that we can put all this information there (without having the OP update the OP).
I just called my local T-Mobile store asking if they knew when the new phone would come in and the rep told me that she too was waiting for it and that they are being sent a demo unit, due to arrive in the next few days and should have the phone in stores within the next 2 weeks. She wouldn't get more specific though ... I have read on the tmonews article discussion that some places have a "notify" list if you're interested

Yeah I saw that also. Funny how fast those "notify" lists are growing. If your local T-Mo rep said phones would be in stores within 2 weeks, and it's true, that encouraging to hear instead of Nov 15th release date.
I have about 3 stores within 15 min drive. I will be visiting all of them tomorrow.

I personally think it'll be out sometime next week, but if I'm wrong at least before Nov 2nd.
The only thing keeping me from thinking next week is the press event t-mobile is having on the 29th.

[Q] Going from VZW G'Nex to Used VZW SIII: Good Decision?

The famous "mic mute" issue still plagues my Verizon G'Nex til this day (see this XDA thread). Not to mention that my eMMC's random write speeds are atrociously slow (and "LagFix" app has not corrected the issue). I've ran CM 10 and AOKP with no success.
That said, I am considering picking up a used phone from Swappa. I want to stick with the used route because I want to keep the existing Verizon Unlimited Data for as long as possible. It seems that the SIII is the best choice, considering the price point (approx $300), still relatively speedy hardware, and the ROM/Developer community is strong.
1. Does the Samsung Galaxy SIII have those same "mic mute" and slow eMMC issues?
2. Are there any widely spread problems that I should be aware of?
3. How likely will the community be able to churn out S3 support for the next Android 5.0 (Key Lime Pie)? Isn't software support predicated on when Samsung releases the kernal/SDK?
4. Are there any other used phones that I should look at? The new SIV is way too expensive to buy off-contract, and frankly, seems to be an incremental upgrade from the SIII.
Maybe you should ask this in the Galaxy S3 forums.

Good point. Mods - please close my thread here.
I plan to take a similar route. My contract with Verizon is up, and we plan to head to t-mobile pre-paid. I'm going to pick up an AT&T S3, as I live in an area where the 1900 mHz has been upgraded to HSPA+, and the AT&T S3 supports band 4 for LTE.
Whether or not the S3 officially sees KLP will depend more on the release date from Google.
The S3, from a spec standpoint, will be a pretty good upgrade. The extra GB of RAM will help in the day to day usage of the phone. And dev support for the phone is great.
