I didn't get a particular amazing deal looking at some of these..
300 mins,
unlim. texts,
500mb data
£79 for handset.
£27 a month @ o2
I'm planning on returning the handset next week (14 day cooling off period) and ordering through dial a phone instead.
Seems like the Orange Panther is the one for me:
600 mins,
unlim txts,
1gb data,
£59 for the handset and £28.50 a month.
Within the cooling off period I am allowed to use the phone aren't I? I don't want to unwrap the handset and realise I'm unable to return it.

I got:
300 mins
3000 texts
1GB data
All for £28-50 per month on orange and a free media link from phones4u the phone cost was £109.99 but after I placed the order I said I was going to cancel it so they refunded the £109.99... I saw some other guy did the same and they refunded his £109.99 as well, its worth the argument with P4U they always seem to refund the phone cost lol

My deal with t-mobile s basically the same price plan with free phone also includes micro sim card in the box same number

Unlimited txts
Unlimited internet

Sent from my Desire HD using XDA

Those with contracts from T-Mobile, did you get your phones from them directly or via another 3rd party on-line supplier (P4U, CPW, etc). In other words do T-Mobile have the phones in stock today?
I know they are crap in updating their website from 'coming soon' to being available. I know Orange have already updated theirs.
EDIT:
Just thought I'd quickly give them a call. They don't actually have them in stock at the time of calling (or possibly not showing on the systems) but they are able to take orders.

Tempted to change my current order to this (I'm on the £29 p/m Ultimate 500 with free headset).
This deal means if unlimited data is a thing of the past in 2 years (or expensive), I'll simply stick on £25 a month which is reasonable.
Seems like I'm going to be waiting ages for Affordable Mobiles to deliver anyway, cancelling and re-ordered will probably make no difference.
Trying to find out when they charge for the handset, if it's right now or on despatch. Dialaphone charged prior to despatch.

I got from Dial a Phone (over the phone)...
Orange Panther 36 (24 Months)
28.50 a month
Free phone
600 mins
Unl texts
1GB Data
Free Medialiank HD
Still waiting for myphone though

Looking at 300 Mins/Unl Texts/500Mb on O2 for £27/month and free phone, from Tesco
Don't need the minutes (have survived on 100 for last 2 years) just need to decide on colour as I can get white form elsewhere at the same cost... choices

Got mine from Orange upgrades for £50 over the phone just now (was hoping to get it for free with the amount of loyalty I've got but hey ho.. )
18 Months
600 mins
Unlimited texts
Unlimited internet
15 Free picture messages (tend to use whats app instead for this)
All for £38.00 per months which includes insurance (£6.00 orange insurance is the best).
Phone comes on Tuesday

............
The prices are very reasonable on there!
You can get 300 mins unlimited texts and internet for £20 a month and £129 for the phone
Are you saying that the Desire is in stock, or just that you can preorder?
Preorder but apparently it will be in stock on the 26th
I just called customer services to ask for an upgrade and was told it wasn't available yet. I pointed out that it was on their website but they don't think it is in stock.
Seems very resonable.
Any word on branding or if it comes unlocked? Also what is everyone's experiance of T-Mobile as a network? I'm on O2 at the moment, a bit fed up with a lack of 3G most places I go.
Edit: Also worth going through Quidco or TopCashBack, £35 cashback if it all works ok.
............
Ouch, some of the deals are fantastic!
£60 for the phone, 18 month contract, £30 a month:
600 mins
500 texts
unlimited internet
+ a booster - I'd choose Unlimited T-mob to T-mob calls, then give my girlfriend a T-mob PAYG sim.
Seriously considering cancelling my deal with mobilephonesdirect...
EDIT: After a quick think, I realised if I wanted this Booster I could add it to my contract for £5.00 a month extra, which is £90 over 18 months.
With going through mobilephonesdirect, I save £60 with the handset being free, £30 cashback, £30 memory card, £15 insurance.. So that's £135..
Meaning to have exactly the same contract between T-mobile and mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, it'd cost £45 more for T-Mobile.
............
Yeah you can pre-order - stock expected 26th of March.
Pre-ordering will take the cash / credit check tho. So you're essentially signed up, just waiting to take delivery.
I went for
£164 + 10/pm deal.
Comes out to a total of £404 over life of contract.
Perfect for me, as wife will take the sim.. 100 mins / unlimited texts / unlimited internet is plenty for her. As she mostly texts / facebook.
And life time cost of the contract is the cheapest in UK . Chuffed
I dunno what to do
I've place an order at mobiles.co.uk for vodafone, 600 mins unlim texts for £25 but will have to pay an extra £5 a month for unlimited internet making it £30. (free phone, 24 months).
I can get it on Friday from T-Mobile for £5 a month extra with 1200 minutes, unlim texts and internet but I didn't really want to go for T-Mobile again (coverage in Birmingham not too good). I also didn't want to spend more than £30 a month AND get a free phone. Just dunno weather I can wait when I know T-Mobile customers will have theirs on friday
............
I've had 'HTC Desire availability' email from T-Mobile this morning. Just going through all the options - from T-Mob directly and third party sellers for the best deals. This is hard work!
My deal on T-mobile
Just phoned up T-mobile, this is the deal I managed to get:
£15 p/m; 300 mins, unlimited data, unlimited texts (via Flexible Booster) Contract length 18 months; phone for free.
Phone will be delivered when 'upgrade' stock arrives- this Thurs/Fri.
Of course the above is not a 'standard' deal; had to be put on to the retentions dept etc. I've been with T-Mobile for about 14 years now.
Yerp - also got confirmation from MPD that they're expecting to ship phones out on April 5th.
Where T-Mobile release date is 26th, so should get my shiney new HTC Desire on Friday.. At least i hope.
Glad i went for direct T-mobile
This is not logic!
We should have full review by now if the Desire is already on sale
They probably don't have it in stock, but have a confirmed date.
This site say "Please allow up to 7 days for delievery"
I've had it confirmed that if you do order from mobilephonesdirect.co.uk, you only get 1GB cap allowance for the internet.
Nobody knows what will be the given SD card?

I'm sure I remember seeing 4GB when T-mobile had the phone as 'Coming Soon'. But that detail doesn't seem to be there any more.

HTC Desire upgrade costs

At the moment my question probably only concerns T-Mobile users but of course is open to anyone on any network. Namely how much were you charged to upgrade to the HTC Desire and on what price plan were you on, and what did you go to?
I ask because the lady in the Orange shop just quoted me £100 for the handset on a £35/month contract. I have been with Orange for 11 years and am currently on a £45/month contract, so I thought this was outrageous. I'm pretty sure there are a lot of T-Mobile users who got free upgrades and I'm curious to hear the details as I need ammo for when I call retentions.
Thanks in advance for your replies...
Was on a 25 ppm plan with T Mobile (usually never go over with the occasional +2/3 pounds extra charge). Upgraded to a 25 ppm contract, free handset, 18 month contract, 600 mins, 500 texts, flexible booster (currently set to unlimited texts), unlimited internet. I know someone who was on the same plan as me got the same deal for 20 ppm Although apparently I will still have some leverage for upgrade when this contract runs out unlike those who are paying peanuts currently
Phone was free, 18 month contract, £15 a month, 600 minutes, unlimited texts, web 'n' walk max option included.
Free phone - 24 months contract
Flex30 £30p/m (with Friend&family discount I will be paying £15p/m)
£180 allowance
50% of allowance goes towards international calls if you wish to use it.
free internet cap at 3GB
free voicemail within allowance
free calls to 0800, 0845, 0844, 0843 numbers within allowance
My plan was the old t-mobile 750min off peak plan at 11.99 pounds.I went to the cpw for the upgrade n I was quoted 280 pounds if I want stay on the same tariff.they later rang t-mobile upgrade dept and I was offered flex 35 which includes 225pounds worth of calls ,unlimited text and unlimited internet with free HTC desire at 29.48pounds excludingvat.plus vat is 35pounds.so it works out to be 1125min anytime call plan.the handset is already unlocked.

mate you might wanna call them to cancel rather than upgrade.
What I did as I actuallly wanted to move to Vodafone after seeing a 12 month deal on mobiles uk site with £40 p/month and handset for £40.
so when I did call t-mob to cancel service, they give me 12 month contract with £35 per month Flext 35 + Web'nWalk 1GB 300 min and 200 txt, handset cost £20.
cheers

You're right. That is outrageous
On the Vodafone website:
Free phone
18 Month contract
£35 per month
600 Mins - upgraded to 900 mins if ordered online
Unlimited texts
500Mb mobile internet if ordered online.
Throw that in Orange's direction and see what they say.
If Orange try the same line with me as they did with you I'm telling them to shove it, especially after I've been with them for 13 years.
T-mobile rocks!
I was on £21/month plan (100 txt, 100 min + unlimited web) with my Compact IV. I called the upgrade team to get the HTC Desire - but they (like always) gave me the same offers as there were on the website for new customers - they could max knock of £9 from the handset price.
I went the 'correct' route - I called the cancellations dept and told I wasnt treated right by the upgrade team and I want to cancel my T-mobile contract. Boom Boom and I was offered a 24month deal 100txt - 100min - unlimited web - 60min free calls to eurasia = all for £10 month!!! Handset price is £90 on my next bill. To me 24 monhts is bit long, but i LOVE the £10 a month (wont matter if go bit over my allowance!).
Total is 24x10 + 90 = £330. Not bad!
I was offered an early upgrade to HD2 in december... they wanted £350 for the handset! LOL
Wow - many thanks for your replies - you guys are getting some cracking deals on T-Mobile - what's it like as a network? What is their internet access, and coverage like?
Yup will defenitely ring retentions - that being said Orange are the worst now for retaining customers - they don't care. Is it possible to ask for your PAC code in the last month of your contract? The vodafone deal sounds good for £35/month....
Orange apparently run a credits system - how I haven't got enough credits to get the phone free after 11 years (and my next bill will be circa £130 - although that is NOT typical - a typical bill is £51) is beyond belief....

HTC Desire on 3UK - Excellent deals

Hi
had a handset on request from three, and just cancelled the order after seeing their new deals, not sure if the handsets are still unlocked, however on a 24 month contract you could get the handset from £22 monthly with 300 minutes/txt, or £25 monthly with 500 mins/txt for free, the online prices vary slightly from those in store, but they are better than the £35. monthly advertised by most networks.
They are really trying to corner the market, its a shame the network coverage is not the best.
Jim
wow, £22 per month as well? i just had it yesterday with £25 per month with 500mins, unlimited text and 1GB internet( well, so call ' unlimited internet), they told me it was the manager special.... can't believe that they are doing the £22 per month as well..
And the deal was off today, that's why i got it yesterday(That's what they told me...)
vodafone -12 month contract, £35 a month with 10 months half price.
600 mins, unlimited internet, unlimited texts.
phone being delivered tomorrow and contract starts in september (means it is 18 months in total, but 12 months knocked off my existing contract) due to ongoing issues on my account
we live an learn every day, got the £25 pmth in the end from 3, and i am proud to say the phone is unlocked, dont think I got a too bad deal

[Q] Cheapest & best deal from UK?

The list below is what I have compiled for UK pay monthly contracts, I'm currently on a 15plan on orange for Desire(250 mins, unlim texts, 500mb). Normally I only use 3/4 of internet as I'm a bit wary and use wifi more so I don't go over and the minutes aren't used rarely.. I'm either going for orange panther 26 or 3 ultimate 100, but I would like some opinions to which you would think would be best for me?
Vodafone cheapest - £26pm 100 mins 500 texts 250mb length 24mnths phone cost £299
02 cheapest- £21.50pm 200 mins unlim texts 250mb 24mnths phone cost £105
£27.00pm 300 mins unlim texts 500mb 24 months phone cost £80
Orange – panther £20.50pm 1 swappable 100 mins unlim texts 500mb internet phone cost £250
Panther £26pm 2 swappables 200 mins unlim texts 750mb internet £200
Tmobile - £21pm 24 months 100 mins unlim texts 750mb phone cost £200
Same as above except 50 mins 250 texts and 1.5gb
£26pm 24/18 100 mins unlim texts 750mb 18mnth/1.5gb 24 mnth phone cost £150
moneysupermarket- 02 on&on 24 mnth unlim texts&mins 1gb £36.00 before cashback £23.71 after
mobiles.co.uk – orange panther 26 24mnth £26pm 200 mins ulim texts 750mb phone cost £50
3- ultimate internet 100 £25pm 24mnth all-you-can-eat data 100 minutes 5000 texts phone cost £150(black or white) essential internet same but 250mb for £22
Can you add up all the costs e.g. 26 x 24 to see clearly the cost for the 2 year contract
Check out this deal i posted on HUKD a while back
Make sure you read the entire description. total cost of deal is £718. You can get £40 cashback.
http://www.hotukdeals.com/deals/htc...ee-ipod-shuffle-40-40-tcb-affordable-1185924?
It works out cheaper than 95% of the deals you've posted above^ + There is no cashback in the actual deal so no need to send in rebate forms. The price you see is what you pay. Plus you can tether on this plan. You can get cashback via TCB or Quidco (£40) if you want.
Also another option if you have the cash is to buy the phone outright from 3 for £449 and then take out a 12 month sim only 600 min, 3000 texts, 1GB Data for £12pm.
Total cost = £593 for a 12 month contract + phone
= £737 if you keep it for 24 months
vodafone - £624 + £299= £923 overall
o2 - £516 + £105= £621 overall
£648 + £80 = £728 overall(other o2 one)
Orange panther20 - £492 + £250= £742
panther26 - £624 + 200= £824
tmobile- £504 + £200= £704
18month- £468 + £200= £668
24month- £624 + £150= £774
moneysupermaket- £864 before cashback / £569.04 after cashback
mobiles- £624 + £50 = £674
3- £600 + £150 =£750 (£25pm)
£528 + £150 = £678 (£22pm)
Hopefully that is clearer!
Seems like the 18month tmobile is the cheapest with 750mb & 100 mins & unlimted text as the o2 one only has 250mb :/

Are mobiles a good service? I've tried to stay off third parties incase of any problems with the device so I didn't bounce from either party.. Well I have my student loan so thats why I'm trying to go through pay monthly as it's easier on my wallet then taking 500 out!
They are good in terms of getting the right phone and right contract to you. And their communication is very good.
Only downside would be if you have any major problems. They're good at getting back to you quickly with small things but if you look at the last few pages of the thread i posted 2 people have been given devices which have a few issues and AM did not agree to an exchange for one of them.
So the only thing is that they might not agree to an exchange unless your handset is properly defective. Apart from that its been good service from them.
i wish major US carriers offered low minute plans instead of making everyone take ~500 when they barely use 50.
T-mobile have the poorest signal I have experienced, along with 3, then Orange. I will ever buy their contracts again.
Vodafone are the best for coverage, and then o2.
As usual, cheapest is not the best choice. It is just the cheapest.
To be honest as long as 95% of the places I can get a signal I don't really mind, I'm more worried if theres no signal compared to a low one...
Yeah I'm more trying to get find a suitable middle ground instead of too cheap or too expensive!
I've looked at reviews of affordablemobiles and they seem a bit mixed... most seem to be about the cashback but if the offer isn't including cashback then it shouldn't be too much of a problem?
To be honest every company that does cashback has very strict rules about how to apply for it (otherwise they'd go bankrupt giving it out on ever deal) So these rules say that one mistake would lead to the company denying cashback. So the majority of people who've complained about cashback haven't filled out the right stuff properly. And yes, you're correct in saying this deal doesn't have cashback.
If you read through the post above you'll see that everyone who has ordered this deal has received everything correctly. So i don't see you facing any problems.
@HTC Whore, what are you talking about. O2 have the worst coverage out of everyone with only 84% 3G coverage. Ofcom have warned them so many times to increase their coverage so they don't get fined. Three, T-Mobile/Orange, Vodafone have much better 3G coverage with Three and T-Mobile able to reach speeds of up to 21Mbps, soon to be 42Mbps by september. Three have 98% coverage along with t-mobile with vodafone having a slight less amount.
But yeh OP, you want to make sure first and foremost that you get signal on the network you want to go for.
Yeah that's what I was thinking about it, I know if I did have the choice of cashback it would be nice but with an offer like this it's impossible to beat!! Do you know if the offer is only in white or if the grey has the same offer?
I shall hopefully do it before the end of this week, if my uni work is done or beginning of next week as I need to phone orange for my PAC code... Would you say it's worth getting a free gift through a code? sorry for all the questions

Yes the offer is only for the white one. The grey one is slightly more expensive at £27pm rather than £25pm.
To be honest i'm not sure if you can get a free gift. I posted this deal a while ago and i seem to remember the codes having an expiry date of last week. I'll have a look out for some more for you.
You can find the Grey one here - http://www.affordablemobiles.co.uk/...r/32569603.html?&source=webgains&siteid=20363
Remember that you can get cashback through a third party (not affordable mobiles) like TopCashBack or Quidco. (check out the sites) i think its around £40 still.

I've already ordered a screen protector and about to order a case so I should be alright with the white.. The free gift not being available isn't too much of a worry as it is free, the same with cashback or quidco. I checked on 3 and the signal is alright for all the areas I mainly visit(home, uni and the gf!) so once I get my PAC I should be alright to order, just hope the offer is still available!

Does anybody know if the DialAPhone One Xs have Orange firmware? I just want to try ensure I can get firmware updates quickly if there are bugs (which I hear there are!). Was interested in the Affordable Mobiles deal menioned above but the Three firmware (& LONG delays updating) put me off!

DialAphone will send you an unbranded and unlocked handset on Orange.
Although i think orange can be just as bad as Three sometimes when it comes to firmware updates. So its better to go for an unbranded one.

Price drop already

Hi all,
I noticed the price of the HTC One X has already dropped quite a lot from launch. Amazon and Expansys now have it for £449.99 that's a £40 saving from launch price of £489.99, unfortunately none of the high-street retailers have followed yet and with the issues I dont want to purchase one online with out seeing it first and with out an easy return route.
amazon returns are fine, i had my first one x from them, it was built badly, they sent me an instant replacement before i'd sent the first one back. the second one was as bad so returned the whole lot and had my money back.
the fact they were faulty is an issue, but the returns process was a breeze
Pre ordered from amazon a week before release for £489 on release day it dropped to £479 then to £469 a week later, now £449
Bit rude really isn't it.
Can confirm Amazon have a great returns policy, prepaid shipping and replacements sent out soon as the RMA is raised, they give you 30 days to return your item or they will charge you for both.
do you need to pay yourself to return the item or do they send some sort of pre-paid envelope?

You print out a return shipping label I believe. So it doesn't cost you anything.

Amazon only does this when you return an item for reasons other than unsatisfactory product quality. For example, if an item is DOA, they eat the return shipping. If you just changed your.mind or no longer want an item, the cost of shipping comes out of your refund.

Well I got mine from three for £449 when it first came out, most ships just inflated the price when it came out.

Only £449?In my country the only way i could get my hands on it was from Orange. The base price(without any contract or points) is 860 Euro.
Don't want to rub it but three UK also offers unlimited mobile broadband for £15 pay as you go (getting about 5mb speeds sometimes) this includes 300 minutes calls + 600 texts, this prices are unlike any other UK resellers or phone company's who always try to lock people in for 24 months contracts for a miserable 500mb or 1gb data plan & then charge a fortune if one goes over the plan.
The only down side is the coverage could be better but then we can't have it all.

Terrible coverage in NE Scotland. As for the price, GifGaff gives unlimited texts & data & 250 mins for £10 a month, using the o2 network

You got robbed, rub it in, do me a favour.
I pay Orange 9 quid a month for 300 mins talk, unlimited text and 1gb data.. Yes £9pm
Yeah this is the downside at Orange here, the 2 year contract. And olso the offers are not so great,i mean, for 15 euro per month you only get 1 gb of net traffic witch isn't so great.I had luck that i've ordered the phone online and if you order the phone online you can only make a 1 year contract extension. For me it isn't that much of a deal because i am using Orange for more than 10 years and i won't change my network.

You forgot to say that of you top up once every 3 months its completely free to call or text other Giffgaff users, great for wives, girlfriends or kids. They also do a great referal program that gives £5 in top-up to both the person siging up and the referer. PM me or anyone else on GiffGaff for a link.
