The network where I work uses ISA and has all workstations setup to go through the GATEWAY in order to access the WWW. They have a unsecured wireless network, and my Trinity can connect perfectly fine. I'm running Windows Mobile 6.1 and can connect to the wireless AP with no problem. When I launch Internet Explorer Mobile, it shows the default page, but complains that the page cannot be displayed when I try to go to any website - my guess is because Internet Explorer needs to be setup to use the gateway/proxy (just like the workstations are). But I do not see any options to type in the name and port of the gateway/proxy. Do i need a seperate proxy application for the phone/IE or are there registry settings or some other settings elsewhere that I cant find that need setting?
Any ideas?

I'm trying to get my TP2 to work over wifi using my works proxy server...
I've managed to get it to connect fine at home, and can get it to connect to sites which do not require the proxy to access, but when I need to use the proxy, it just won't access (as if the proxy server is not set up correctly).
Now maybe I don't have it set up correctly?! This is what I've got:
Settings -> All Settings -> Connections -> Connections -> Advanced -> Select Networks:
Programs the automatically connect to the Internet should connect using: mobile web
Programs the automatically connect to a private network should connect using: My Work Network
The "mobile web" option was set up by the Settings -> Communications -> Data Connection, and allows me to use gprs/hsdpa to connect to my provider (O2).
Is there something I have set up wrong? Or is there a way that I can get it to connect to the internet using the work proxy?

i am also having the same problem, my uni requires all http traffic to go through a web cache proxy script. iv tryed all sorts and it generally just ends up freezing as soon as i try connect to a remote web page

With a big breath, when I connected to Internet, nothing worked. And spent nearly an hour searching this forum for a resolution but couldnt get hold of anything.
Our company uses a URL with the option of 'Use automatic configuration script' in IE. And I dont how to configure this in my TP2.

With reference to your query, we are sorry because HTC phone can only automatic receive the Wifi signal or use SSID to access to the Wifi network, it cannot check the URL to get the connection.
You can go to Start - Settings - All Settings - Connections - Wifi. Please turn on Wifi there first. Then go to Advanced. Please take a note for the MAC address there and go to your server to add this MAC address to connect it with your phone.

Managed to resolve this. My issue was that we had an Automatic Configuration Script in the IE. Hence managed to look into the script for the Proxy Server and the port and set it up in the 'My Work' connections. Also edited the WiFi connection to connect to 'My Work' and i got it working.
This video shows you how to configure your laptop/pc and your android device to reverse tether Internet using wifi adhoc networks.It's working fine for me on my samsung galaxy gt-s5360 and i can download from google play ..

Step by step wifi reverse tethering using adhoc networks :
Here i try to write down the steps shown on the video:
Step1 : Configuring laptop/pc :
1- First, you need to create an adhoc network:
Open network and sharing center on control panel
click on manage wireless networks then add , a windows is shown, select create an ad hoc network click on next then input a network name(for example name it 015) then choose the security type (you can select either open or WEP) then check the box save this network
2- now reopen network and sharing center on control panel then change adapter settings.
Right click on your internet network and click on properties then select the tab sharing and check the "allow other network users to connect through this computer's internet connection" (choose wireless network, if multiple networks are shown).
check also the "allow other network users to control or disable the shared internet connection"
next click on setting and check all items..
3- Right click on wireless network connection and double click on "internet protocol version 4(tcp/ipv4)"
on the new window select use the following ip address 192.168.137.1
and subnet mask 255.255.255.0
now activate your new adhoc network (if not already) go to the network icon next to the clock and select it and connect.
Congratulation your laptop/pc is now configured .

If you encounter problems connecting ,try to disable then to reactivate wifi, else reboot your android device.

Ad-hoc networking
Ok, noob warning! Forgive me if this ain't the right place for this.
I'd like to set up an ad-hoc network between my HTC One S and my Macbook Pro. I have enabled the network on the Mac, but the phone does not seem to see it. Any chance of that happening without rooting? I'm too much of a noob to try that.
The purpose is to use my phone to browse my computer when a wifi network is unavailable. I'm not trying to tether for data.

Hello everybody,
After im using lumia 950, and this device can't change DNS (Static IP not enable).
But i have anotherto enable it.
Step 1: Enable "Developer mode"
- "Device Portal": Turn on Remote diagnostics
- Get IP below Wi-Fi (ex: 192.158.1.25)
Step 2: Open Microsoft EDGE
- Enter IP you get on step 1 to dress bar
- Go to "Networking"
Now you can see all information of wifi you connect
Step 3:
- In the Right of page, you can see: List button "IPv4 Configuration", click to the first button of list
- Board setting "Internet Protocol Version 4" will be Expland.
Now you can config DNS server like PC :good:
finally, cellular data under control, now it would be nice if the settings for wifi werent applied on a ssid by ssid basis, as in, if they could stick until changed again by the user just like on w10 proper, instead it just sticks to the current connection profile

I wonder if it should be possible to write a batch script to do this...or once we are able to jailbreak to change it in a custom rom? I have never wanted to change the dns on wifi though.
