Trim Area, a zone with some parameters. It contains unlock key when you unlock your bootloader. Nobody but devs should edit it

That is correct.
I tried downloading this yesterday but norton 360 told me it was infected with a virus and quarantined it? which is a first with flashtool, any ideas guys?

If ever you take the time to read the Installation tab on the homepage :
Before downloading and even installing, disable your antivirus. The package is virus free. Antivirus complains about psneuter and zergRush root exploits and I still haven't found how to fool the antivirus.

Actually uname -m just gives you the architecture. So the best way is $(uname -m) == "x86_64"

I only want to know that is there any way to make a ftf firmware, from Pc companion or SEUS
I mean when we download a firmware through SEUS or PC companion from sony server for flashing it in our phone
then the whole firmware is download in our PC, so can we make a ftf bundle using that firmwares or not

whats the difference between the generic world and a specific region, as north america ?

nope, just finished flashing. i guess your download was corrupted... try to download again and reflash

customization... i'm not 100% sure but i believe world has only Sony bloatware and nothing operator or region related.

There is no such version of "World" there are all released on specific markets, if you go to the phone menu, it says "world" but almost all official roms say that... what version did you flash before have this one?

If your phone is rooted then just use titanium backup or download root explorer and delete apk files from root/system/app manually.

You can't root 587 directly. You have to downgrade to an earlier version of firmware to do so, and then flash a 587 kernel to get it back to the most updated firmware (therefore keeping root).
Flash this, root with this (by running the runme.bat file), and then flash this - You have to use flashtool to flash firmwares/kernels onto your phone. Here's a tutorial on how to do it.

the 4.6 mb is a kernel, so you flash 374 mb first, and then root, and then flash 4.6 mb
and sorry I don't know any websites listing all kernels by country. I only have this which has all firmwares listed by country

My ftf file is not troubled
I flashed it on my device then upload it
beside some users report, it has not any problem and installed properly
