[ROM][GN][GSM] Mandaman2k_v7 ROM based on Buggles Beast ICS-Build 04-06-12 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hi,
For all the people who like PA Bugless Beast ROMs I'm posting here a modification of his ICS ROM with a personal choice of mods I like and use.
I chose Bugless Beast as base ROM because in my personal opinion is the cleanest, and least modified AOSP so I can add my preferences change.
On this version, as my first ROM I'm adding:
CM9 T9 Dialer
Extended Power menu - Reboot Options
MMS fix Added by Peter Alfonso
Power Notification Menu (To Open just tap the setting icon on the status bar, tap and hold to go to settings, thanks to TeamKang).
Battery Text in Notification
Custom Carrier Label
For more changes check the changelog below.
I'm still very new at all this custom rom thing, but I'm planning to add more things to the ROM but as always keeping it as Clean and AOSP as possible.
Also as I do my own updates I'll be adding every new nightly that Pete get's out of course with my mods if that is he hasn't already got them in.

Pete's ROM has Market issue from Apr 3rd to Apr 9th build. Does this ROM have the same problem? You can't buy anything with these build.

I've been using Pete's rom from 3rd to now and I have purchased glados control in that time. It can't be something wrong with the rom .

Well a lot of ppl reported the same issue on rootzwiki lte thread of bugless beast. So I tried today and it didn't work. Can you try buying something randomly small and then refund?

Sure give me a second
EDIT: yep can't buy anything odd. I know I purchased glados control the other day, maybe I wasn't using bug less beast, but I haven't used any other rom in the longest time. Did you try downgrading the market to 3.5.15? I think my play store updated since I purchased it.

Hi Mandaman2k
How about "the MOD addon" flashable instead of the Full ROM?
FYI - Reloaded ICS
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1531222
Your single flashable zip can support Peter Alfonso NS(crespo/crespo4g) and GN(maguro/toro)??!!
I think it'll be easier to update

this mod is for cm9 running roms
this rom is based on aosp
too bad, i really like the mod...
would be nice to have it for aosp based roms
then you can modify any aosp rom, and do not have to use aokp all the time

cant wait to try this!

Can you add a mod that enables the Back soft button on the right? That would satisfy many users coming from galaxy S2 world.
Thank you

MMS receive doesn't work yet. :-(
Runs okay.
Thanks everyone for your support.
MMS have been modified by Pete for the next release. I can't really test them since here in Mexico the MMS servers have different configuration.
Also there is much more improvements in speed and memory use.
For the rest of the Tweaks, I'm still working on them.
Cheers and have a nice holidays

Its been a while since I've used a stock rom.
However, we probably don't have as many customisable items as roms such as AOKP or CM, there is only a few of us that work on this rom afterall.
reserved for me
Menu?
One of the features I have appreciated from other AOSP-AOKP-CM9 Roms recently is the abliity to set the MENU icon(Soft Keys) so that there are four soft keys in the navigation - I tried to figure out how to make that happen with the EOS settings on this ROM and unfortunately I am either blind and can't see it or it doesn't currently exist.
Is this in the plan moving forward or will this not be something we can do?
Having said that - it seems like a great rom - very smooth - snappy - nice work!
One other quick question - the ROM Calls for downloading GAPS - 4-22-2012 - but there is a more recent version - 4-29-12 - is there some reason why you wanted us to flash that GAPPS versus the more recent one?

Yep lol. They are so quick to forget. But can't live on past glory. Gotta keep the win factory churning.
Is the compass working correctly? I already use EOS on my Xoom so I may as well run it on my Nexus .
the kernel u use what build is it # wise
before i flash, does this rom allow you to use the default slide unlock as well as a pattern/pin unlock simultaneously?
On stock its one or the other. so u lose your camera shortcut for the pattern/pin unlock.

Its straight aosp unmodified. As there are highly talented kernel devs in the gnex scene, the kernel is not a focus of our development. Personally I use Franco kernel with his paid market app.
I've done the touchstone mod and I'm having trouble charging from the pogo pin circuit. If I connect a USB cable to charge then power up the touchstone then remove the USB, it will charge from the touchstone. If I simply power up the touchstone charger it will only charge of the phone is off. It feels like a software problem. Any ideas?
Make sure to grab the latest nightly. Almost all linaro optimizations are implemented and its fast as hell. Camera and Netflix are fixed as well. We're still looking at string aliasing optimizations but its breaking prop libs atm. Let me know if anybody finds broken apps. Oh and please benchmark against some of the other crappy roms floating around.
What's the latest nightly 23?

Yes. We have a plan for toro and Galaxy tab, and Galaxy S2.
But my MacBook Air SSD is already full because GN and NS, SGS2 output files are toooooo big.
So I have to buy some harddisk for supporting another device
Tried your rom and find it really neat, but, I have a question that maybe you will be able to answer. I have a problem with my notification LED. This is not only with that rom, but with all CM9 based rom. I tried to post this on several rom but never got an answer. Every time I try to set the LED with a 3rd party app (GoSMS for example ) the LED stay black. I often get a short pulse of the Default color (white) but turn black and never come on again. Tought it was kernel so i tried all the kernel I know and still the same problem. When i have my phone charging, i set the LED (Test notification on GoSMS) turn the screen off and unplug my phone, the LED turn to the good color, then turn black once the screen is back off. Doubt it a GoSMS (This is the main app i use Notification LED with) since it work good on AOKP based rom. Thanks if you can help.
Congratulation to provision team!!
It seems worth flashing! I wanna flash this now
I wonder do I have to full wipe if I'm using cm9 nightly now?
I think it's based on cm9 so I don't have to do, but I'm not sure about this one.

edit: wow, this rom is awesome, I just hope you in the future the wheater location in the statusbar/notificationbar will be based on your current location. And also when you change the toggle order the provision framework crashes when saved, but not that bad because the configuration is applied anyway when the the provision 'framework' restarts. Also please contact me if you look for Dutch translation in the future.
This is the first rom convincing me not to restore my backup from stock (android revolution). My new daily driver
Im trying it out later looks awesome!

Description:
ThunderStick Soft and Chewey is a Rom compiled of some of the latest tweaks and mods available along with a few custom mods as well. So fare mods are minimal but will grow as I have more time and over come the learning curve coming from developing on sense roms.

Just noticed this myself, was trying a bunch of different kernels before I settled on fugu. Had to some adb issues with franco (not reading directories).
Anyway, it is FUGU for sure. Screenshot updated...
Looks good. One or two tips search button isnt neccesary on jb its under home button i much more prefer menu button but thats personal. But when your adding search button please include the 5x4 launcher without search bar. You also might try lean kernel. I tried a lot to but lean is smooth and battery is awesome. But also thats personal to Just keep up the good work. I shall test it tomorrow!

Menu will be added, but honestly I dont like the swipe up gesture for search. I also plan on remapping the long press for home to display recent apps and removing the recent apps icon.
This will come in the future though, summerfest bound tonite.
Will keep a close look on this ROM. Just to confirm this is the GSM version right???

Yeah this is a GSM ROM. Contemplating switching carriers currently. Picked up this nexus and now need to find a suitable carrier. Straight talk (data coverage seems crappy so far) is kind of iffy right now, any suggestions appreciated.
Gonna flash this after day shift leaves and I get my laptop out. ST is on for me I guess considering I work in a big ass metal building.

Hi! I'm using tmobile's monthly 4g- $30/100min/unl data- 1st 5gb at 4g speeds, unl messages. In North Jersey and works great. I use very little minutes and can supplement with groove ip when necessary.
someone on this forum is miserable not appreciating DEV work therefore giving 1 star rating. I HOPE YOUR laptop dies you miserable prick. As for dev nice work, so far looking good.
Great work will try this ROM later tonight. I loved your work on my HTC thunderbolt. And I am using Tmob and it has been working perfectly fine for me. Also I love fugu kernel glad your release was with his work.
PS you should update your baseband the newest baseband xxfl1 has been the best for me. Improving my signal inside my work building from 1-2 bars to 2-3

Me?
Edit I assume you're talking about me since I'm the only one that mentioned a laptop.so...
1. I need my laptop because that's where k downloaded the ROM to before I left for work. Expect me to conjure it out of thin ****ing air?
2. I mention straight talk since op mentioned it.
So how am I being ungrateful?

I have 2-3 bars in the house but my download speeds suck ass. My upload how ever is good at about 1mb. Yesterday I was getting about 9kb/s on AOKP, ping at over 300ms and data dropping on and off. Changed some APN settings after spending the day googling and data holds a connection now but still download speeds are way less than stellar. Voice recognition hardly working when not on wifi.
Ok while typing this I hit 2mb/s download that's great. WTF... this is confusing me.. Oh well, back to cracking my head on the desk.
By the way, press the right or left side of the nav bar and you will have your menu selections. I disabled the views because I can not for the life of me figure out a method to hide and disable the buttons on the lock screen.
I used the UOT kitchen to get the Battery mod done, I think that is what screwed this up. Gonna check in to that...
Thanks,
Andrew

Has a black style theme to it which I like.

Just flashed it. I do believe the Navigation bar is messed up, or is that a new button style? Looks too squished to me.
Nav bar is awful
Many thanks to everyone testing.
The nav bar is from here
If you would like to revert back to normal, I will upload a zip tomorrow to revert it

Honestly the Nav bar keys you used look glitched, even if that's how they're supposed to look. You're going to get a lot of complaints about this because really, they look more defective than stylish. Thanks for the zip though.
Great ROM I hope there are still features and regular updates to follow. Thanks for your work

No bugs till now. I didn't find any bugs after lots of testing.
My opinion: It's the best.
