Great news .. Thanks

awesome news to wake up to!

Great news!
OP, after fastbooting the official CWM recovery image, does this mean we can use the ROM manager app already and we can start those flashing/backup/restore from there?
Also I noticed in their site, it is still version 5.8.2.3, the one you posted is more updated version 5.8.2.4.

Awesome to see some official love Whilst it doesn't do a whole lot more than the interim recoveries,, I assume we will be getting more work done on it too!

Yes you can use Rom manager for that. It isnt able to flash a new recovery yet, but other options work. 5.8.2.4 is the latest beta version not yet posted on clockworkmod site.

Here is a link to his latest recovery:

You need to flash in fastboot by using the command fastboot flash recovery (name of recovery.img)
Also a full list of recoveries for most devices can be found at:
http://clockworkmod.com/rommanager
Issues being examined:
Cant mount USB in recovery
No charging while in recovery (It could be working but needs confirmation)
Cant flash from Rom Manager
Enjoy
EDIT 1: Next step is to enable USB support in recovery. As soon as that is done and ADB is working it will be easy to enable mount USB. Koush is on this. More testing later tonight.
EDIT 2: Problems flashing some roms flashing fails with assert failed. Looking into this later today, till then use interim recovery..
EDIT 3 : Every Rom that checks deviceid on install will fail as deviceid is wrongly stated in recovery as endeavouru rather than endevoru which is the right name. Will tell koush and we'll have a new build shortly after

for ur EDIT1:
the USB gadget is slightly different, i am working on fixing this... if u guys have something on ur mind ping me (via p.m.) so i can test it asap...
EDIT2/EDIT2:
u need to edit default.prop in recovery ramdisk and change the ro.board or ro.product.board or somethign like that to fix this
i was busy with recovery for Xperia S, but now that its ready i will get back to fixing this adb/usb mounting issues

Get on IRC Freenode #HTC-One-x
Koush will be in later today
I know about the deviceid

They got it working on the cdma, maybe we can port the libs to our device?
Some month ago I have compile clockworkmod recovery from my computer source and could have "power off" support and correct "partition SD card" option.
It's 5.0.2.8 version. Could you just post it in your thread with my name please ?
"They got it working on the cdma, maybe we can port the libs to our device? "
I don't think ,that was the old version 1.x of the recovery without touch.
I try to compile 2.x version :/
Clockworkmod Recovery v5.8.4.3
its working thanks so much
thank
Wow! It work! Lol. Thanks youuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu! Love it :good:
I've flashed the Clockworkmod-5.8.4.3 recovery but there's one problem : When I go into recovery, there is an error involving the ext partitions so it doesn't recognise them. Can't make a nandroid backup too because of that. Am I the only one with this problem?

Totally agree, but on a device with 480x800 it's awsome. BTW another great recovery is 4EXT

Oh well, this recovery is good enough for me and I can keep updating it with the one from the hero cdma
We could probably get these images sharper or something, it looks awsome but there is some enhancement to do. I S-OFFed my device so im free to flash everything. Im gonna try to make this more beautifull on our heros
EDIT. Can someone confirm that when you flash a .zip it reboots recovery ?
Found another bug, when you are backuping and/or flashing .zips the log doesnt start a new line when it runs out of space

I can answer this question: it is impossible. There are certain problems in work of this Mod. The first: does'nt making full nandroid backup. The second: does'nt flashing boot.img. It is necessary to develop this program still. But something, already is able: root, interface modding, ect....
Howdy.
I have flashed this recovery image and for the first time, can boot into recovery and see what I'm meant to see! Thanks. Previously (2012 hardware) I just hung on the white HTC logo screen.
Now, if I select backup and restore, press the power button, all the text disappears and I'm left with the central hat image... but nothing much happens. Pressing power again brings me back to the main menu. Same thing with -power off. The top option of reboot system now works just fine.
Any ideas? I'd like to backup my current system before flashing WildChild 3, you know - just in case anything goes wrong!
EDIT: immediate edit. cancel all of the above, I'm just new to recovery (obviously!). I went through the main menu a few times, it told me the back button was now active and away I go - backing up as we speak! Apologies!!! and thanks!

You must press one time into recovery volume + and several time volume - , while apear "back button is enable" and then such as in any cmw.

[MOD] Recovery Flasher

This is a usefull zip that i made for flashing any recovery for i9505.
How to :
- make a nandroid backup first !
- unzip in a new floder on you pc.
- put your recovery image in the root of that folder and rename it as "recovery.img".
- re-zip again.
- copy you new zip to your smartphone.
- boot into your current recovery and flash.
- reboot to system (not to the recovery or you will get error).
Good idea but...
- People who are smart enough can do this already or use alternatives
- People who can't are very likely to screw up their phones by using the manual method provided. Believe me, I kinda "teach" Android - the things I've seen...
Thanks.

Any idea on when it is coming out? I haven't heard or read anything about this. Anyway man, this is good news, I too am waiting for a stable recovery. Everytime I use my recovery for different purposes, I end up getting atleast one error. I moved back and forth between, CWM, TWRP and PhilZ recoveries, to me the most stable one was the extreme latter.

Stuck after Install Rom

Hello to everyone ,
i installed miui v6 to my M8 and after that i cant flash any other rom.
I install a new rom from zip but after the reboot it stucks on the first screen of the new rom.
Waited for 3 hours but nothing.
What do you suggest ?

No.

This isn't normally required on the M8, unless its some quirk specific to MIUI (which is a ROM I don't a have much knowledge of).
Make sure your TWRP version is up to date.
Make sure your hboot is up to date.
Wipe user data and cache (default wipe in TWRP) before flashing the ROM.
Those are the most common reasons for no boot after flashing multiple ROMs.
I dont use TWRP. I use Philz Touch recovery.
Where can i download latest TWRP ?

That may be the issue right there. I know some folks are still using it, but Philz hasn't been updated in a long time. And since some newer ROMs have issues with older TWRP builds, I would assume the same would be true with Philz.
You can get TWRP here: https://dl.twrp.me/m8/
