[Q] Galaxy T989 freezes when powering off (ICS Perfection flashed) - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

Hi Guys,
First post on XDA-DEV and I unfortunately can't post in the developer page for this phone.
I recently flashed the ICS Perfection II 04.15.12 and my phone freezes when powering off. Not a huge deal but I would like to remedy the issue.
I have wiped the phone and all the cache and fixed the permissions after the flash.
The page for the ROM does not address this issue and I have searched for the issue on the phone forums with no avail.
Anyone have any ideas? Anyone dealt with this issue before?

1) Honestly I don't understand how if you watched this video, you didn't learn that if you use the search function, you will find answers to all your questions. *facepalm*
2) Never, never, never post in a question in the developer section. Only start a new thread only if you are a developer, hence the "Developer" section.
3)Its a known bug for the skyrocket leak ports, some other ROMs have addressed this issue while others...well they haven't. Quickboot (I think is the name of the app) will do the trick.
4) Hit the thanks button

This is what i did to fix the rebbot issue. Go into recovery make a nandroid backup, right after the backup is done, flash it. Don't wipe or clear anything just flash it and it should fix it. It worked for me so it might work for you.

the new ucld2 based roms have all resolved this issue (embryo 2.0, new nexus mod beta, sky pics 4.2D-6)

Flash to Infamous and app issues

OK, so before I flash to Infamous I have a question on what I can do to stop random apps from uninstalling themselves! I just noticed tonight that Google Sky is no longer installed on my phone as well as a few others. This has happened before but with different apps.
Why is this happening and how can I fix it? Currently my phone is rooted, backed it up via computer (click and drag) and then backed it by rebooting in to recovery.
Would fixing permissions take care of this issue?
Next question!
Installing Infamous (not to keen on the TouchWiz though..), do I need anything else other than the .zip for the rom? Saw a few posts saying I would need a different radio in order to get service/data, is this not included in the rom?
Anything else I would need to make this rom work?
Thanks.

In regards to your apps disappearing.. Are you installing them to your SDcard? If you are then they will be poofed while you have your phone connected USB and storage mounted. I heard of this randomly occurred in another thread (used search) and no one seemed to have any other ideas.
As far as the radios go, Mr -X- has this thread with the latest ICS radios which would probably work best with any of the ICS roms out now. Make sure you flash the radios before flashing the rom.
Good luck, hope this somewhat helped. Remember that on XDA Search is your friend and most issues other people have experienced and already have answers elsewhere, just requires some digging..

[Q] Regarding CyanogenMod9 and volume

Sup XDA -
Long time lurker here, first time poster..I tried searching for this question on xda, google, and also searched through the 'similar threads we found' box that opened while creating this thread, but to no avail, found no answer regarding this.
I just recently installed CyanogenMod9 alpha6 on my Epic 4G Touch, and I love it..Only problem is I'm unable to lower or raise the volume on videos. The phone shows the volume is being raised, lowered, and muted, but it never actually raises, lowers, or mutes the sound.
Has anybody else ever had this issue? And if so, what did you do to fix it?
Thanks XDA
Just tested with videos i recorded as well as netflix. No problems there. Tried clearing cache etc?
I could try that..clearing the cache through CWM won't mess up the installed ROM, correct? (im newer to the whole custom ROM scene)

It shouldn't just wipe cache and dalvik
Clearing the cache fixed the problem! Thank you guys!

[Q] DU (7/6/10) and phaze 2 kernel data/usb storage

I wanted to post this in the Dirty Unicorn thread, but this is my first post and I have no permission to add posts to development threads.
It seems that there is some consensus that this kernel will cause bootloops if installed with DU. However when I read through the thread I noticed another user had done it with the second to last release of DU, and it was working fine for him. I decided to try on the new build and it works great.
The only issue I have come across is bool errors when transferring data via USB that made windows xp go blue screen and rebbot. I figured I would revert back to my old boot.img and the issue persisted. Before I had installed this kernel I had issues with transfers stopping short of complete data, so I can't quite say I have pinned it to this kernel. I eventually had to revert back to stock and reroot and reinstall DU. I have yet to transfer data again and I plan on trying MTP protocol to see if that corrects my issue.
Has anybody else experienced this issue, is it common and if it isn't isolated to just this particular setup, how would one go about fixing it?
No suggestions?
Is my question not clear or concise?
If you are getting a blue screen on your computer, I highly suggest googling the error and researching the issue to find a solution.
No two computers are identical, even if they are the same model from the same batch. Whatever you install on your computer may change how your computer functions.

[Q] M8 forgetting wifi settings?

Hey everyone,
I have noticed this issue as soon as I moved to an AOSP ROM. After I reboot the phone my saved wifi networks are all gone. Not sure why, anyone else experiencing this? If so, is there a fix?
FYI, I am currently running Liquid Smooth 6/19.
Thanks.

I realize your a new member, so can't post in the liquid smooth thread. I'm only replying to "mention" the OP of that thread so he might be able to help you. Okay, @CPA Poke?

I am a new member, but I have been lurking for a while. Moved to the M8 from the HTC Jewel. I spent most of my time lurking in that forum. Actually, liquid was my daily driver on that phone too.
Anyway, when moving to a new ROM I always do a full wipe (both caches, system and data). I left my external SD alone when moving from the HTC Jewel. And, now that I think of it, I never did a wipe of the internal card either. Might have something to do with it...not sure.
Edit: Someone else is having this issue too...

Ok, I did a full wipe for both Caches, System, Data, and the internal SD card and I am still experiencing this issue. I am using the Liquid gapps too.
I'm stumped...

Ok, I think I may have the issue narrowed down. I have always installed the GAPPs immediately after a new rom. I decided to try to just install the ROM, boot to the system, reboot to TWRP, then install the GAPPs and Bam! So far my wifi settings/networks are not disappearing anymore. Not sure why the previous combination would cause such a problem.
If anything changes I will update the thread, but I have high hopes....

As far as I know, all the AOSP ROMs are having issues with wifi networks not saving. My understanding from what I've read is that the HTC wifi drivers are not open source and/or easily accessible to the developers.
This is a known issue (at least it was last week, not sure if it's been fixed since then), so I don't think you're alone. I'd try reading in the CM, PA, SK, and LS threads to see if anybody has found a fix.

Regardless of which ROM freshly installed I get "process com.google. etc..." errors

Regardless of which ROM freshly installed I get "process com.google. etc..." errors
Before I provide more details if needed I just wanted to check the first thing that I should which I'm clueless of. But so far its been a few ROM's. The latest were a couple stock ones and before that, the last time I was regularly using this phone a few years ago I believe it was an ASOP(did I get that right?) ROM. Are there a few common sources I can check for problems that might solve this? The messages seem to just pop up whenever and they are all different but usually start with process com.google then something else. Just need a point in the right direction as when I google these the only general solutions I found were to clean a variety of caches, apps and I've tried clearing dalvik and regular cache from TWRP but that never helped. So any ideas would be appreciated. Also for some reason can't install apk's. Play store works tho. I get that 'error parsing' error. Not sure if related.Trying to set this phone up as a backup phone.
Though I do not know the answer to your problems I would like to suggest you move your thread to Q&A or General because you will not get any answers in the section you posted in...A mod Might move it but if not you definitely should...Just word of advice that's all

Thanks. Actually its been solved. For the moment at least. I think for my latest reinstallation actually. Don't know why it ever gets these issues. I guess I'm afraid to accept that it could be hardware somehow which would be more difficult to solve than software. Well anyway, hopefully it stays this way
