Google Wallet now working on ALL Galaxy Nexus? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I just installed it from the Play Store on my unlocked Nexus on AT&T and everything worked. I now have the free $10 Google card. Before I'd get an error that it isn't available on my carrier.
Anyone with a Verizon Nexus confirm this?

It's only available on the gsm ones and the sprint one. Not on Verizon.

I'm still having trouble on my T-Mobile GN. But maybe it's because it's using AOKP?

It's worked for me for at least a month on AT&T with an unlocked Galaxy Nexus. No error messages and no messages regarding incompatibility.

Unsurprisingly it is still not offered in the Canadian play store even though our merchants do support it.

Yes, you can do that. The account may disappear, but you can add it back. I've wiped my Wallet data many times at this point. AOKP and stock both work the same as far as I can tell.

Same here pretty much. I use H2O (an AT&T MVNO) and I was able to download and use Wallet the day I bought my Nexus at the end of January. In the Google Play store it shows up as an AT&T Nexus.

Oh, I should mention that mine is the NTT Docomo version. I heard that you might have to call in to activate it or something? Not 100% sure.

I was wondering the same thing although in my research to finding the cause to our problem, I read on some sites that it is due to the vulnerabilities and the ability to get into other peoples "wallet" via deleting the caches.

I'm on T-Mobile, AOKP.
Couldn't download before (carrier blah blah).
Just did it and installed.

Is Google required to provide Jellybean to GN before GS3?

Is Google required to provide Jellybean to GN before GS3?
Since my GN is a VZW phone, I have a feeling that it will get Jellybean after the GS3 gets it.... or am I wrong?
Huh? why would Google be required to provide Jelly Bean? It's all open source.
New flagship device (Nexus tablet or Nexus 4) will get Jelly Bean first be cause it will be launched.
Galaxy Nexus (GSM: yakju/takju) will follow.
Nexus S (GSM) will follow.
VZW will need to wait for Verizon to approve of Google's update. I know I'm missing Sprint but you get the idea.
I am completely positive in telling you that the Galaxy Nexus will get Jellybean before the GSIII.

I don't believe it is required but the gnex will get it ages before the gs3 even dreams of having it because the gnex is an aosp device where as Samsung will take jelly bean and bloat it down with touchwiz and Samsung apps... then it goes to the carriers and they put their apps on and somewhere along the line it just might reach the gs3

I wouldn't bet on that. If we're talking about the GSIII in the USA I would agree with you but overseas or unlocked is a different story. I'm sure one of the overseas variants of the GSIII will see a Jelly Bean ota before we do (VZW/CDMA). We haven't even officially gotten 4.0.4 yet.
GNex will definitely get JB first. The G3 is running Touchwiz, so even when JellyBean is ready, Samsung will need to modify the IU. Regardless of the G3 being a "flagship device" Nexus devices will always get the updates first because they are pure Android.

"Required"? lol. Not sure what you mean by that. Google makes the OS. Who would be holding them accountable to be "required" to do something?
But you know that it will... I mean think about it. They make Jellybean for the new Nexus + old Nexus (that's us). Then they give it to Samsung (and others) who make it all skinned and stuff for their devices.
It necessarily gets JB first...

No, I was dead serious. First glimpse of ICS ever was on a Nexus S. As for why it took so long...because they probably wanted the GN to be released first.
Then they did their little peepee dance and canceled the 4.0.3 push shortly after it began for whatever reason.
The GNex and NS will both get Jellybean before the GS3 IMO.
Why would the carriers and/or Samsung upgrade the GS3 asap? What incentive do they have? They don't, so they won't.
Google isn't required to do anything but my bet us that gn gets jellybean much much sooner for the before mentioned reasons and judging by the past. If the hardware is capable it will get it. The nexus s got ics same day that the Verizon galaxy Nexus came out.

The CDMA (Verizon) Galaxy Nexus is not really an unlocked "Nexus" phone in the traditional Google definition (like the GSM pentaband version) in the sense that it is still "locked" to Verizon's will to get an update. Real Google phones get updates pushed directly from Google servers. Heck they can't even switch SIM cards or use other providers or use it abroad with international SIMs.

Does Google have to get Verizon's permission in order to push OTA update to CDMA Galaxy Nexus phones?

That doesn't make sense. That CS rep is an idiot, and has no idea when the OTA is coming.
No one here knows either. It's gonna be a couple months, sorry. Nexus devices do get direct OTAs, except when you have a CDMA model and the carrier has to approve the update first. Then it takes a couple months.
That seems kinda pointless to have a nexus device if it is carrier affiliated that's the point of quick otas.. is anyone building jb from source or compiling from GSM devices thanks

There are source ROMs for the Sprint one too, but they don't have updated radios, because the Sprint device isn't fully supported in AOSP at the moment.

JB 4.2.2 Waiting Room

Here in Israel both nine and my wife's 4.2.1 stock, unlocked& rooted GNEX still waiting for the OTA. This time i have decided to wait for the OTA and not force it via GSF cache clearing.
please post your location and status
OTA's aren't distributed by location, so this thread is a waste of time.
If you have an unlocked device, sideload the OTA .zip and you're done.

i have decided not to force the mobile to get the OTA, but to wait as "average Joe" for the OTA to pop up.

Wait for about 6days and still not get the OTA notification. At last use the GSF trick.

All he's saying is basically to move to one of the GSM carriers. In the United States, that would mean AT&T or T-Mobile. Having a GSM carrier means that you can buy your Nexus from the Google Play store, pop a SIM card in from the GSM carrier of your choice, and it just works. Their plans are usually less money (though AT&T is more expensive than Sprint, I think), and plus your phone will actually work outside North America. The GSM Nexus phones work on just about any GSM network anywhere in the world.
