[Q] Set Locale and Language - HTC One X

I'm afraid of root my HOX and I would like to have it in Portuguese.
This app "Set Locale and Language" work fine but, why it needs so many permissions?
His it safe?
Any other suggestion?
Thanks in advance.

If you use apps like switch locale, you can force your location, and multi-language apps will be in Portuguese, like the GPS voice, etc..

Thank you.
I found "MoreLocale 2" and is working fine, till now.

don't need an app.
Just disable Customization Settings Provider and most languages will appear in the language settings.

Where is that option ?

Just disable it and go to language settings. Choose yours and after reboot activate it again.

[Q] Default language hardware keyboard

Hi. My HTC G2 have english in default language for the hardware keyboard. It's possible to change it to spanish? Thanks.
Note: I have Virtuous-Vision-v1.0.2 ROM
I think it is decided by the rom ,cannot be changed expect you change the rom which based on the spanish language officeal rom
Sent from my HTC Vision using XDA App
I'm sure virtuous vision should have spanish. Try going to Settings > Keyboard and Language. Then just double check if it doesnt have Spanish as language up top. If it does, then chances are your keyboard will have it to.

* Settings > Keyboard and Language > Select Language = Spanish (Here no problem)
* Settings > Keyboard and Language > Touch Input > Hardware keyboard setttings > Default keyboard (Here is only English language)
It's possible add another language (spanish in this case) and then select other default keyboard.
Try this.

Add more locales to stock rom?

Hello.
There are apps available that allow you change system locale and by doing so whole interface switches to the selected locale. This means that all these languages are already in the rom, so why don't they appear in the settings -> languages selection?
How can we add more available languages without need of 3nd party app?
Thank you.

[Q] Add new locale to UCALJ3?

Hello,
Due to limited number of languages in a stock rom, I'd like to add my one.
As far as I understand I will need to add my own locale string resources to each APK to support specific locale, that shouldn't be a problem.
The main problem here is how to add locale to the rom itself, I mean - to be able to select it from the Language settings menu. I've found number of replies that advised to add specific locales to /system/csc/languages.xml however I don't see such file here...
Any help really appreciated
P.S. Please don't advise to change ROM to CM/AOKP/etc it lacks a number of features I need.
Maybe this helps: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=jp.co.c_lis.ccl.morelocale&hl=en
MoreLocale 2 allows you to set-up your own locale. It's a critical install for every phone of mine.

I've already tried MoreLocale 2, it only sets current configuration as chosen locale, but it doesn't add it to Language settings menu. If you change your locale back to english, you won't be able to set up locale back to your one without MoreLocale 2...
Ack, sorry I wasn't able to help then :\

[Q] Keyboard problem

both Hebrew and English are enabled, but I can't switch to Hebrew.
If I select other languages - they work fine. Also, if I select Hebrew - it doesn't show up in the main "Samsung Keyboard setting" under "Input Languages" - again, other languages will show up in a comma separated list, but not Hebrew. And of course, can't change to Hebrew using the space button.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks!

You can try to reinstall the Hebrew package. If that doesn't work, try clearing the keyboard's data.
I tried this and its not working. I also flashed the note 2 keyboard which had the same problem. since I upgraded my rom to JB I can't find a fix to this issue.
any other suggestions?

[Q] How to change language input method in AFTV?

Dear all
I'm using AFTV for HTPC and multimedia platform in the living room.
If I can use Korean language input, it would be perfect for my family.
But I couldn't find any way to change language input method.
So is there anyone who can give me an idea how to change the settings?

I found the way by myself
I think the other language could work also.
1. install setting.apk
2. Amazon keyboard popup disable
adb shell
su
pm disable com.amazon.tv.ime
3. Install Korean(DoDol Keyboard) keyboard from google play store
- android setting -> language input -> installed keyboard setting
4. Now I can use english and korean both...
I can't seem to use your method..
Hi kwansiky,
I was wondering if you could help me out I'm trying to use a second language on my AFTV. I've installed settings.apk as you suggested, but when I go to "Language & input" it just crashes. Anything special you did to make it work?
Thanks!
