[Q] Flashing Stock RUU on Unlocked 3UK (H3G__001) - HTC One X

Hey guys. Quick question if anyone can help me.
A friend has a HTC One X from Three UK which he has had carrier unlocked by Three UK themselves. I want to know if I would be able to flash the stock Rom onto this device to debrand it, without having to S-Off.
His CID is H3G__001. I initially assumed he would not be able to without S-Off, but I thought I would check my old HTC Hero which was originally on Three UK and then unlocked in the same manner.
The Hero I managed to debrand by flashing a stock RUU, but the CID on that device is also H3G__001. So I'm thinking, if the CID ends with __001, does that mean a stock RUU can be flashed?
Do any of you know what the CID is for a locked Three UK device?
My friend is looking to sell his HTC One X and I'll only buy it if I can debrand it and have it running the stock firmware.
Currently using a Desire HD and iPhone 4, but getting sick and tired of waiting for the upcoming ICS update. If HTC had said the DHD is not being update, then I would have just got the One X..!

My locked three branded phone has the same CID - I don't beleive you will be able to install a stock ruu on this phone without changing the CID.

You can still put a stock rom on the phone by going down the htc dev route but you can't use an RUU.

[Q] Debrand a T-Mobile Wildfire?

DO I just use a goldcard and download this:
http://shipped-roms.com/shipped/Buz...45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe
I'm slightly concerned that it says "HTC Buzz" rather than "HTC Wildfire". Is this normal? am I changing he phone in any way that may prevent it getting updates in the future?
I just need reassurance that HTC Buzz is the same phone as the Wildfire. Was it originally called the Buzz or something, before the marketing men got involved and rebranded it.
The reason I want to debrand is the Froyo update will arrive long before the T-Mobile one arives.
Thanks.
HTC-Buzz and HTC Wildfire are the same. Buzz is the Working-Title and Wildfire the one for sale.
Its typical for HTC-Devices.

What he said. I'm on T-Mobile too and debranded my phone in the same way, although I must say the phone doesn't boot any faster!
i shouldent update the rom to 2.2 when it comes.
wait for the rooted ver, HTC will proberly install a later harder hboot to crack on 2.2 roms.
Can I debrand my H3G UK Wildfire? Do I just have to prepare a goldcard (forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=572683), place it into the phone and then I will be able to downgrade a rom? Thanks in advance for reply.
Hello, it's me again. I've just tried to debrand my phone (H3G UK). I've made a gold card and downloaded that rom: RUU_Buzz_HTC_WWE_1.14.405.2_R_Radio_13.45.55.24_3.35.15.31_release_130814_signed.exe. I run the exe, everything was ok, and suddenly I got an error. It was error 140, something about bootloader version.
I checked bootloader version - HBOOT-0.80.0003
Is there any way to debrand my phone?
Guys, please help me.
Its the Same 140 at 1&1 wildfire. I dont can downgrade. Can any One help Me?

It doesn't work. I just got error 140. Can I downgrade or change the bootloader version?
The Problem is the Bootloader Ver.1.19 is newer than RU-Version 1.14, so can NOT downgrade this phone!! You can still wait for Froyo 2.2!

[Q] Desire HD back to latest stock Vodafone UK rom?

Hello people.
An android newbie here. I have beem doing quite a bit of reading on this forum, but this is my first time posting. I have looked around all over the place and I have reached a point where I am confused of how to go about the task I am wanting to accomplish. Here goes:
I bought a desire HD on vodafone last week, it had 1.75.161.2 firmware on it. I stumbled across these forums and decided to flash a custom ROM (Leedroid). I was successful a this task, but now i have a charging problem with my phone. If i understand correctly, my warranty is void with a custom ROM, so I would like to know how i could get back to my stock Vodafone ROM (1.75.161.2), also with the branded vodafone logo that used to appear before i flashed to custom ROM.
Again, sorry if there is stuff about this posted elsewhere, I have been reading, but i am really confused.
Any help would be appreciated.
Regards
You have to run a RUU if you want to return to stock.
I don't have any links to official RUUs atm, but check the threads in the android developement section. There should be one with vodafone branding

I have installed a Vodafone branded RUU, I have also found a Vodafone backup which I have tried. I get the branding back, but I cannot get any updates OTA. I'm now on 1.39.161.1. There clearly is a 1.75 update on Vodafone, I used to be on it and my friends are on it.
Any help for me to receive these OTA updates?
Regards
I think 1.75 was pulled by HTC at the same time as the 1.72 update, due to some major bugs.

Vodafone website states 1.75 is the latest. Last week I had 1.75 I don't think 1.75 was pulled. 1.72 was definitely pulled.

Anothe DHD noob question here. I bought a DHD off eBay and I know it is locked to Vodafone, but I'm not sure if it's branded. If I don't get the Vodafone logo when I switch it on does that mean it's not branded?
Check the firmwareversion. If it's like 1.32.405.3 it's unbranded. The important part is .405. That means that it's unbranded.
Sent from my Desire HD using Tapatalk
It's 1.72.405.3
So it's unbranded but I need to downgrade in order to root and S-OFF etc?
Yes, you need to downgrade it to 1.32. But you don't need to create a gold card

Hi, I've the same problem, I need to get back to voda 1.75
First of all, did you used hboot S-OFF or radio S-OFF ?? Because if you used hboot you won't be able to recover the original boot to S-ON and your phone will be out of warranty regardless of the ROM it has installed.
As I understand it, if you've flashed the 1.39 branded RUU back to the phone that should've give you the stock vodafone recovery wich is what is needed in order to get Voda Branded OTA updates, am I right?
So I don't get why aren't you receiving the 1.75 OTA, do you have superCID?
Anyone knows if there is a 1.75 Voda RUU available somewhere to flash manually?

Hi.
Looks like we're stuck in the same boat! I have reflashed the original radio and the original hboot. Also put my cid to stock (VODAP001), and turned radio s-on. Reflashed clockworkmod recovery to original stock recovery, got the phone back to 100% the way it was when I took it out of the box, yet still I cannot get the OTA update to 1.75.161.2
I'm on 1.39.161.1, stock Vodafone UK firmware. I followed a guide off another forum (german forum) nd thanks to Google translator I managed to follow the steps. But still stuck at the OTA issue.
yep, so it seems.
Could you post the link to that thread on the german forum?
Thanks

There you go. Its the second set of instructions which i followed Have a gander.
Hi guys,
Sorry to dig this one up but I've hit a bit of a snag with my phone and could do with some assistance.
I got the phone originally with a Vodafone ROM and decided to debrand it to a plain HTC ROM - 1.72 using a de-brand pack I got from Fonefunshop. It appears that based on the fact the phone still has a Vodafone serial number but a HTC ROM I cannot receive OTA updates (I want Gingerbread ) then I need to revert back to stock. Ironically Vodafone released 2.3 earlier than HTC which was annoying to say the least.
I've been hunting round for the stock Vodafone RUU for 1.36 but I don't know if I can downgrade for starters, nor can I find any Vodafone RUU files anywhere including on here nor on Stock-ROM's.
Can anyone give me some help with this?
When I bought my phone from Vodafone on contract in November it came unbranded and unlocked. Nothing to do with Vodafone at all, apart from the CID. So if you just flash back to the stock 1.32 ROM and change the CID to the Vodafone one which I think is VODA_0001 (Dont quote me on that, its off the top of my head but there is a thread here somewhere that has it in), then make your phone S-on to get the updates.
That way you will be completely stock.
I'm in the same boat too
Flashed the non-branded software when I got the phone last year. Now I can't get the OTA update to 2.3.
Does anyone have a link the the stock 1.32 ROM and also a guide on how to change the CID and to make the phone S-on to get the updates?
Thanks
Lee

[Q] HTCdev.com, S-OFF and CID

Apologies if this is a simple question - but there are so many conflicting posts here it's not entirely clear.
I have a Vodafone UK branded One X and I'd like to debrand it to run completely standard stock firmware from HTC, with OTA updates if at all possible (but RUU wouldn't be the end of the world).
From what I've read - you need to change the CID to a generic HTC_xxx code in order to receive the OTA updates. All good this far.
What I'm a little confused about is which action allows you to change the CID. Most posts point to S-OFF being set on the boot loader as a requirement - but I'm not clear on if unlocking via HTCdev.com will allow you to change the CID? There are some posts saying the HTCdev method is the official method of getting S-OFF, implying it will give you S-OFF (albeit with the warranty concerns). Other posts say that S-OFF is not possible until someone finds a vulnerability in the current bootloader.
If anyone could clarify I'd be very grateful (might even help a few duplicate threads being posted). Thanks.
The HTC Dev website does *not* allow S-Off (Security) because it allows access to radio and more risky things that increase likelihood of a bricked phone. There is no current S-Off method out, people are looking at it and trying to find a way to do it but nothing yet. To change CID, unlock your phone for free etc you need S-Off.
Hope that helps.
spot on, thanks very much.
I too have a One X branded by Vodafone UK.
I do want to root my phone which from what i can tell is still doable with s-on.
From what i am reading in this thread, it is currently NOT possible to replace the Vodafone branded ROM with the generic HTC Stock ROM for the One X?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24678690
Has all the answers. Going back to stock ruu is discussed throughout but mostly near end of thread.

Well, you can replace it with a generic ROM but it has to be the same base-version as what your phone has
ie right now us vodafone users are on 1.26 so we can only use 1.26 ROM's
We can't use any 1.28 until vodafone updates that.
I have flashed the 1.26 RUU (no more branding \o/ and tbf it actually behaves better )
will mull over it - thanks
Stupid vodafone branding

If you have managed to flash the standard HTC ROM for the One X as 1.26 then you should be able to apply the 1.28 patch that is available elsewhere on the forum (the official one, not the translated chinese one!)

[Q] Question about HTC One X (S720e) RUU

Hi there!
I've just got a new HTC One X (S720e) phone which is shipped with stock ROM 1.26.709.3, baseband 1.1204.90.13. I think this phone is sold to Taiwan and the ROM is stock Taiwan ROM.
My question is, if I can flash another version of RUU, e.g. AsiaWWE or EU, to this phone? How can I do it? Thanks!
You can't yet as we don't have s-off. You will have to use your phone or root it.

[Q] super CID and ARHD 12

Hi all,
I have been using ARHD roms for a while now. recently they/mike1986 released the 12 version for jellybean. as I was trying to flash it like previous versions, I noticed a requirement called CID. I got my one x in Australia through a carrier called optus so my CID is not htc... as it required n it's S-ON. I remember I once able to get super CID n s off for my sensation n it was relatively easy by following guidelines online. however, I can't found any instructions regarding how to obtain super CID for one x here or anywhere.
is it possible at this stage?
can I use the same guidelines from sensation?
how others deal with this issue?
I think this is because my very limited knowledge about android. I don't really understand the concept of CID. I know it gives u the rift to modify ur phone but how it's related to flashing a jellybean rom? why I didn't need it for previous version?
really hope some one can help me with my questions n thank you very much for all ur time.
You can't S-Off or change CID.
Others are coping by complaining.
You'll have to wait for Optus to release JB.

I have rooted and flashed custom rom into my one x. I don't think I can receive OTA from optus anymore. In fact there is not system update function within ARHD. However, based on what I read here and some other forums, I think I have two options:
1. Flash back to official rom n unroot, then wait for optus release the update or htc to release RUU
2. wait till developers pose guideline for s-off and change CID (which I believe it's doable because I have my HTC sensation s-off with super CID obtained.
either way. I will have to wait. only wait. nothing but wait. before I jump to my next device. Nexus 4? or 5 from Sony?
but anyway, thx for your reply. much appreciated.
sensation was easy because we had revolutionary
but the hox has no s-off, so we cant change cid
Unless someone manages s-off in the next 2 weeks it seems like you'd have to wait. (I have the same one x branded to optus -.- )
I think the best bet would be restoring to stock and selling the one x and buying the nexus 4. Which is what I'll be doing XD
