What do you think?

they submitted this is 2010 or 2011 i believe so dont go thinking its the xplay replacement just yet its been around aslong as the xplay idea.
but sounds good but in use would probably be hell 2 sliders just sounds like its going break easily.

As it stated in the article, just because its a patent doesnt mean Sony will use it. But I must admit my last 2 android phones had hardware keyboards and i just used the GameGripper to overlay my phones keyboard, map out my keys and play my emus. But when I saw the Xperia PLAY I was like I can live with a touchscreen control if I have the gamepad.... and never looked back.

Still the dual sliding if it works out well and it becomes a reality it could be pretty sweet. But I am taking it with a grain of salt until its confirmed... never the less...... good find and thanks for sharing!

I'm throwing money at the screen but nothing's happening D=

here is a much reliable source for you people and on a much more current date

If they make something like that, let's hope it's designed so the ribbon cables on the inside don't break as easily as they do now. I've seen too many play users fall victim to that design, including myself.
I think having a qwerty AND a gamepad would be amazing. The phone might end up being really bulky though. If that's the case Sony might skimp out on the battery to save space.. Yikes.
Qwerty pads are a must-have for some people and would probably give them a larger market. I personally considered getting an xperia pro, or galaxy glide at one point.
Mind you, I only use Swype these days. But, it would be good to have one for those times when the hands are moist, and the digitizer decides to be overly sensitive.

Android Developers Shirt(s)

First of all, (to mods), there isn't really a section for this... since it's not erally off topic (cause it's related... just can't find a place to put it), if you've got a better place for this, please move it
Since I just started developing for android, and I have an ego the size of my... muscles, I made a shirt on Zazzle for Android developers.
Unfortunately, it's not cheap (typical Zazzle) at $27, but it's pretty neat looking.
That's my store/thing, they make you sell it through that, and it looks terrible because I'm not interested in selling stuff as a profession, that's why I'm an android developer!

I was just looking for some feedback I might make some more, because the 'Android Developer' category of apparel is very small, I found only one other item that's for females, which means its really rare!

The link goes to one that is slightly different than the one posted, mainly because I had to swap out the Android logo because you are not allowed to use the font.
I can't guarantee the quality yet, but I chose the american apparel t-shirt because I've had their value tshirts and they suck. I'll get back in touch when mine arrives.

Galaxy Note Slide Keyboard

Hey people,
I just stumble on a bluetooth slider keyboard for the Iphone and I would be interested to know if this thing exist for our Note? The biggest advantage of the sliding keyboard is that you can also tilt the screen upwards and the keyboard just slides in the case.

Seems really nice nope? I wouldn't mind the size/price as the physical keys are what I missed the most for typing/gaming - what do you think?
Nice idea, but I enjoy my touch screen keyboards regardless.
Nice idea
Nice,, but we have big screen, a keyboard is not necessary
Actually i was thinking about this too, as i really loved the physical qwerty keyboard on my B7510, but agreed that a physical keyboard is not necessary due to the big screen. However i searched ebay before, i stumbled onto this. Might not be the exact type as shown but quite similar.

Don't buy it.
The keyboard feels shi t, so much so that the Swype/etc keyboard works easier.
They should've known not to use flexible key-buttons. Otherwise, a great product.
PS They could've also implemented a microUSB connection, so that the battery life lasts longer
I wonder if you can get another mini keyboard to use in that since one one is so bad
I had one for my iPhone 4, and it had that chinese cheap feel to it. It worked but ... also the OS wasn't designed for it so it had many inconsistencies.
I would LOVE a physical keyboard because it's a lot easier to walk and type with. Sometimes the predictive text on Ultra Keyboard gets it wrong.
What keyboard are you guys using? My only prerequisite is that it be able to have multiple languages as I am here in Spain and I need to type in both English and Spanish.

I am looking for a sliding gaming pad or, at the very least, keyboard that I can map gaming keys to for use with an emulator.

GameKlip clips a PS3 controller to your Android phone

Another Clip called GameKlip appeared on the Market for Android users (lucky ones). This one is one of it’s kind, seems that have a better *grip* and better security to avoid your expensive cellphone end on the ground with a broken screen or worst

Mobile games is a growing market, people love their mobiles and a lot love gaming so it’s a winning combination. However there is only so much fun you can have with a touch screen interface. It works great for some games but not so great with others. For a start putting your hands on the screen obscures your view of the game world. In addition it’s just more natural to use a physical controller, the shapes and designs of which have evolved for decades to make the most of gaming. GameKlip decided to pair a tried and trusted industry standard controller with you Android phone. The company chose the PlayStation 3 dual shock controller.
GameKlip is currently compatible with;
HTC One X
HTC Evo
Galaxy Note
Galaxy Nexus
Galaxy SII
Galaxy S

This is what I've send to the guy who made this little piece of magic:
Hi, my name is Santiago Console, I’m a Captivate Glide user and an active participant of the XDA Forum dedicated to the development for this phone. A few month’s back, we gathered a bunch of request, from people who were trying to make this guys:
http://www.game-gripper.com/
Adapt their product to our phone, for some reason, they didn’t bother, even after we gather more people than the D3 Community, and that guys ended up getting it. That aside, will you be interested in adapting the GameKlip to our phone ? I can assure you, that, at least, you will sell 30 units, right after you set up the pre-order J
To know the dimensions and the shape of our phone, you can look into this page:

Thanks, and I hope you can make this happen

Sup guys getting a 32GB version in a hour or so.

Sup people, id like to introduce myself, I'm a hobbyist 3d artist and graphic designer. "Not so much good at the design part" but for now on im gonna "try" to design wallpapers, lock screens, and Themes optimized for the Nexus 7. I'm not very proficient in coding but I have a friend who both has the nexus 7 and is a semi recognized developer here on XDA. "you probably know him he is the creator of Dandroid" "I actually came up with that name =P"
Here is just a few things I have done "I know not impressive yet" But at least it gives me some credibility to what im saying.

If at all possible since im new here anyone can suggest things that are worth developing for on the nexus 7 id be very grateful.
I know zilch about coding or desinging 3d models but I will say that
a lot of the design work I've seen on here tend to lead toward
embossed, shiny, 3D-like styles. The pictures you posted look pretty decent,
I would like it even more if you had the green in a lighter shade though like
the original androids colour. Anyway this is going a bit off topic but I think it would be interesting to
see how you can merge 3D design skills into things like wallpapers
and lock screens and also into future apps your friend can help you develop.
We have a Themes and Apps subforum for this kind of thing.
Good luck with your wallpapers. And welcome to xda
As you seem to have posted some images already ive moved this thread to themes. If you add more wallpapers to the thread rather than start another it keeps things tidy
Regards
Chris

Thanks and sorry for being such a noob, I always seem to be this way when I enter an unfamiliar "to me" community, ill try to be more aware of things like this.
Anyway Here is some of my other work, I used to be more into Gundam 3d modeling so here is some of my more impressive work that isnt client work. "sorry ahead of time, I haven't enough posts so add links yet".

Ive also made other things like tablet designs and such a while back "This is a pic of when a tablet was unheard of" This is what my vision at the time a tablet should be.

NEWS: HTC phones officially the best at stopping bullets

One California man is thanking his lucky stars that he decided to buy an HTC Evo 3D. Yesterday morning the phone stopped a bullet that would otherwise have hit him in the chest.
It’s a scene right out of an old Western flick, except that the pocket-sized Bible has been replaced by a 4.3-inch Android smartphone. A look at the back of the Evo reveals that its most volatile components (the battery) played an important role in stopping the slug.
Obviously the victim will be in the market for a new phone now. If HTC’s marketing department has an ounce of common sense, they’ll leap at the chance to work this into their Iron Man campaign and get a brand new phone into this guy’s hands as quickly as possible.
This isn’t the first time an HTC phone has stopped a bullet, either. You may recall an eerily similar incident that occurred back in 2011, where an Atlanta nightclub valet’s life was saved by an Evo 4G. Yes, that’s another Sprint variant.
Is it possible that the Sprint/HTC collaboration is yielding some breed of superphones? Clearly one other thing Droid does is stand up to small caliber rounds.
Unapologetically plastic? That’s a slogan that works for some. Others might prefer the sound of something a bit more dramatic, and if HTC can’t find a way to capitalize on a second live-saving, bullet-stopping phone then the company deserves to be absorbed by a competitor and fade into oblivion.

haha, yeah...It's true, HTC could replace the mobile and use it for marketing... It is definitely the best build in the android mobile market...
They should really use that for marketing, would catch the attention of people with cracked phones!
New business opportunities for HTC. Manufacturing of body armour.
