Same here, I'm not rooted tho, mine disappeared after I factory reset my phone. From what I've been told HTC removed them in 1.28 update, why I have no idea.

it was removed when during the 1.28 update
so if your kernel is 1.28 it is normal that your beats profile is missing

i have a nandroid backup of my stock rom with kernel 1.26 when i restore from there i can see the beats profile list, 1.28 kernel which is in default included in the custom roms available here im not sure if you can manually downgrade,
regarding when they will return i am not sure as htc is the one who removed it in the first place

i also don't think you can manually downgrade as i tried and nothing happened my phone just stayed in fastboot, i hope htc does bring them back soon

Good to see they left in the urbeats profile, a set of headphones that you cannot even buy.

That's a good point I hardley know anyone with them

[Q] HTC Desire HD Sound Quality

Hi,
I recently upgraded from an HTC Magic to an HTC Desire HD.
I noticed that the overall sound quality on the DHD is very poor.
I first noticed it when making a call, and the sound was very tinny. It sounded like the treble was turned way up, perhaps in an effort to increase clarity, which resulted in distortion and clipping. I suppose you could also describe it as a high pitched "buzz". I thought it might be the speaker, but ruled that out when I found the same result when using headphones or plugged into an external sound system.
The problem is noticeable in any situation:
a) The earpiece, when making calls
b) The loud speaker, when on speaker-phone or playing music
c) Line-out (headphones, speaker, sound systems, etc) for calls and music
d) Even just the "beep" the phone makes when you turn up the volume, or any other system sounds (high pitched ones obviously make the buzz more prevalent)
I did some searching online and found a few forum threads, and some people agree that it's not very good while others say it is fantastic.
The review on GSM Arena seems to agree that the SQ is lacking, but that seems to contradict what I've heard a lot of people on the forums say.
The main problem is that people have different opinions of what is acceptable, what is good, and what is not.
So, I created a video in attempt to demonstrate what I'm talking about.
I ask that you please watch it, and tell me if it sounds similar to your Desire HD, or if there is something wrong with mine. When comparing your phones to other makes or models, does yours sound a lot more trebley and tinny?
The first part of the video is a speakerphone comparison with a Samsung Galaxy S and my DHD. It's kind of hard to tell in the video, but it's clearly evident in person. I also included a line-out recording with the DHD and an HTC Magic, which I think illustrates the issue a bit better. The last part of the video is comparing audio, from a computer, an SGS, and the DHD. The volume from the SGS and the DHD were pretty low, so I had to boost them a bit in post-processing which does make the "tinny" clipped treble sound very apparent, albeit a little exaggerated.
This issue is less prevelent in some styles of music, so I will also include a link to the exact song used in my tests in case anyone would be so kind as to try playing it back on their device and see if they get the same result.
Tycho - Past is Prologue
I should also mention that SRS and Dolby and all that jazz don't make a difference -- while they do make some songs sound better, the high pitched "buzz" distortion is still present -- and since it's there with plain old system sounds, ringtones, calls, etc., I think it is fair to assume that the music EQ and effects don't really have anything to do with the issue.
Finally, here is the video (be sure to select 720p for optimum audio quality):

I thank you for your time and your help!!
By the way, I am currently running Android Revolution HD 3.2 and my radio version is 12.41.60.19_26.06.04.14_M

its a .zip
simple to install, just put it on the ROOT of your sdcard
then boot into recovery
i assume you know what recovery is because you have modded the phone
and apply update from zip
pick the telus.audio.fix.zip
give it 10-30 seconds
and boom fixed

While I am on the Rogers network, my DHD did originally come from Telus... Would that fix still apply to me?
Are you referring to the TurboniumX fix linked below, or is there more than one?

I am running the most recent Revolution HD ROM (3.2), which is running 2.2.1
Furthermore, I just heard from the creator of the Revolution HD mod, who says that the "TurboniumX audio fix is included in the ROM".
I'm stumped.
i mean the official 2.2.1 update by htc
it adds makes it easier to text, fixs the lag on dhd, improve on camera, fixes major bugs and improves the audio by alot but i think u need to unroot to update

I'll leave that as a last resort, but if possible I'd like to find a solution that doesn't involve unrooting.
i dont think thr is..... thr r apps out thr but they are all for 2.1 and below

If the official 2.2.1 update has the fix, I think the devs would have included or even improved it in their custom roms?
the update was released only yesterday

I must have missed that. Which one is it? What is the version number?

And getting back to the topic, what have you done so far? Did you find any solution? If not you could try reflashing the turboniumx audio fix even though it is included in the rom.

I haven't had a chance to try anything yet -- I am going to try re-flashing TurboniumX when I get home from work, and I'll report back.

Asia 1.29.707.11 is up

weigh in 35.08MB.
Downloading now...
it fixed the memory fragmentation issue. free space went up from 3gb to 19gb ...
I'm waiting for others to test it before I download.
Running good now with great battery and I don't want that to change.
Just done the downloading.. do not see any big improvement yet..

Please share the hboot version..
Disappearing storage is big deal for me, I transferred a lot of movies, it seems to be resolved, 1.5 to 3.6GB.
Noticed some strange screen flickering when swiping between home screen. It didn't happened before, was not that annoying but it's there.
Multitasking is about the same IMHO, still reloading browser tabs when switching away to some heavier apps.
Amount of memory on task manager after boot is also the same as before.
what the **** it just factory reset my phone and wiped everything off....
Still there is no update in HK. Stuck with 708.9
that was bad...
mine didn't wipe anything though, everything is still there.

maybe everyone has a little issues here or there, but in general, the other ones feel:it's very good, maybe even for daily use,(read in the forum) ,not every one face the problem(can't find songs &pics),but how does the problem happen ? how to solve it ?
this problem also exists with cm10 for the ville,.. did you hear from any devices not coming from htc with this problem?
You might consider Meridian, my media player of choice for the Android platform. It is very intuitive, excellent features, such as a native digital EQ, etc. You can specify several media locations to search for music, video, etc. It just received an update over the weekend, which helped aestheticly, and the developer is constantly enhancing the app. I'm using it in the gym right now, on the StairMaster. Coupled with Beats Audio, it is unbeatable. Have fun!

nexus s &galaxy nexus had that problem, cause devices which can update or flash rom to 4.1 are not so many, it's a issue caused by the system-jb,i think~ follow the update of cm10 by tbalden, and still no solution~ also little feedbacks about this issue in the one x forum

[REQ] [MOD] Increase maximum bluetooth A2DP bitpool

Hi!
I found this mod when searching for a fix. The mod increases the bluetooth music streaming quality highly. Now the sound is disordered and hissy.. The mod raises the the MAX-bitpool to 64, when default is around 32.
The only thing is the mod is made for the Samsung Captivate Glide. Could somebody make this mod work on our HOX?
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1880298
Thanks!
Hox has definitely higher bitpool than 32.. I would say it's about 50. You can compare it with desire or any other older model which has 32 and see the difference.
This was also the main reason why I rooted my old desire (cyanogen has first fixed this issue in version 6).
Hox is the first android phone with fixed bitpool on stock rom.
If this mod really increases it to 64, that would be awesome
Sent from my HTC One X using Tapatalk 2
Anybody? Anywhere? Any chance?
I'm a noob, can't do it..
..would be nice.
:cyclops:
I would love to have this. I've gone back to using the 3.5mm jack in my car because the sound just wasn't there.

Yes,
Exactly what I have been forced to do also, go back to the wire..
I don't understand why they can't set the default already at 64, what difference would it make, only make the sound 100% better..
Now there is a way to fix it, i just hope somebody with the right knowledge could help...

Idk, nobody says anything about what it actually fixes. Does the mod raise the bt bitpool or what? and the mod is for the nexus 4, not sure is it compatible for our HOX.
It looks like we are not gonna get a fix for this on the HOX...
Thanks!
I'm coming from the One X+, it has the same issue then the one x, and i've tried out ad2p streaming over a brandnew htc one: still the same problem!!!
it's a shame that a big manufacturer like htc can't fix a software problem like this, cause if you stream over a new aokp or cm 10.1 rom, the problem is fixed...
does someone have already a solution for sense 4+ roms?
thanks alot.
cheers

Here you go man this should work just make sure you choose what exactly you're build is off of an aroma this works perfectly on all my devices if it hangs at 88 percent in recovery don't worry just reboot your phone like normal and it will be OK can make sure you pick awesome beats in music effects and settings
