Need to buy new eartips, any advice? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

Hey everyone,
Recently, I lost the eartips (picture here) of the earphones that came bundled with the Galaxy Nexus. I've been looking for replacements from Amazon, but I'm not sure which ones are "compatible" or would fit the earphones. Has anyone bought replacement eartips?
EDIT : Would these or these be compatible?

Comply foam tips are awesome, I won't be putting on anything else in all my future ear buds, but I don't know which exact ones will fit the OEM Sammy headset.
I currently have the Klipsch S4 ear buds with Comply TX100's and it's an amazing combo.
I guess I can check if the TX100's will fit the Samsung headset, unless anybody here has the answer. Perhaps Comply will have the answer too.

+1 for Comply (and Klipsch)
I have the klipsch s4 headphones with comply foam tips, as well. I was skeptical of foam tips, but these are something else. The bass response with the included klipsch earbuds was very good. Throw in comply tips and you've got noise isolation and bass that's just out of this world.

Lg tones. They are also bkuetooth and go for roughly $50 in amazon.

i second the comply tips as well. used them for my shure e3cs and e4cs. if it fits then go get some of those.

Just wanted to chime in...I just got my Comply T-100 tips for my Klipsch s4a and they're AWESOME. Much better noise isolation than the rubber type tips and much more comfortable.
Buy a set from Amazon, try them on the GN ear buds and if they don't fit just return them?

What ever you do, don't buy a headset replacement from ebay.
http://www.ebay.com/itm/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=130664454152&ssPageName=ADME:L:OC:US:3160
I bought this and they look the same as the original, but the sound is horrible and very low compared to the originals.

I ordered some comply tx 100 early today, can't wait for them to arrive! I'll be using them with my klipsch s4a. I just can't get a good seal with the supplied tips for very long, espicially when I'm cycling to work I'm constantly adjusting them and its quite annoying. Can you guys say if these actually sit properly while on the move?

whats the different numbers for each model mean? whats the difference between their t-100 and t-500?

Simply a model name, each one is designed to fit certain types of ear bud. On the comply site there is this chart thing which shows you which model of tip you need for that particular brand of ear bud http://www.complyfoam.com

For your sake I hope they fit, I just looked and the 2 different sets of jay birds use 2 different type of buds from their site. Perhaps have a Google to see if anyone is using comply tips with the same model ear buds as you then you might know if you ordered the right ones

Did you receive them yet? If no, then to answer I think you'll really like them, I have no issues when I work out, the seal is fantastic, from what I've read people prefer these as well for active routines. Also they have 3 sizes so you'll have to see which one is best for you, I ordered the assorted pack at first, Medium was the choice for me, been using ever since.
the only thing, these wont last as long as the rubber tips, being that they are memory foam, but imho I'd change a pair every couple months, it's totally worht it. Enjoy them!!!

Looking for Headphones w/ Mic for Samsung Vibrant

As much as I enjoy the stock heaphones shipped with my Vibrant, I want something a little better. Looking for some good inexpensive ($80 or less) headphones with a microphone.
If you all have any good reviews, testimonials or just suggestions for good headsets, please post here. I would really appreciate it and I'm sure plenty of people would want to know too.

Go bluetooth. I'll gladly recommend my Sony MW600. It's just a little receiver that you can plug your own headphones into. It has a mic, FM radio, and can pair up to three devices. I pretty much use it for anything, including listening to music on my computer. The sound is very good (almost indistinguishable from the 3.5mm jack), and it has volume and track controls which work with pretty much any player.
It's also super light and can go 8 hours of audio, prob a little less for voice comms; standby time is in days. In terms of power draw on the phone, I've noticed that leaving BT on drains about 2% total... which probably saves me power since I don't have to turn on the screen as much.
I got mine for about $50 on Amazon. It comes with its own earphones, but I opted to get a nicer pair (Audio Technica, ckm50a) with short cables. Total cost was under $90.
If you must go the wired route, I would suggest the Ultimate Ears Superfi 5vi. You can go more expensive, but this is probably the cheapest wired headset approaching audiophile quality.
you can get skullcandy headphones with the mic at T-Mobile.
I would say try the Skull Candy 50/50's. I have heard good things about them and thats what ill be purchasing soon. U can get them from radioshack or the direct website for more color choices.

Do the volume control's on the 50/50 work on the Vibrant?
Are there any wired headsets with controls other than the one button (hang-up, start/stop) that work well with the vibrant?

Good ear buds with mic. for under $20

Anybody know of some ear buds with the mic. for $20 or less. I like the stock ones that came with the phone but for some reason only the left side works. I would even settle for the same exact ones , but can't seem to find them anywhere. I am by no means an audiophile but do like a little bass, I mostly listen to podcasts and audiobooks.
Thanks for any suggestions.

Well,if you can go another five bucks,I HIGHLY recommend these stereo bluetooth headphones from,of all companies,jWIN.Thats right,I said jWIN These have gotten excellent reviews at Amazon and elsewhere, praising them for their great sound quality and great battery life.I myself have gotten over 10 hours between two hour charges(charged by plugging into my computer). They even fold down nice and compact when you arent using them, nice. The link is for Amazon(with free shipping),but I have seen them on Buy.com for around $24.00 with free shipping as well.Shop around you might even do better. I think they are worth twice and then some what they are asking for them, for the money you really cant go wrong!Hope this helped
I just realized I cant post a link yet The product you can search for on Amazon is called:"Stereo Bluetooth Backphones",the cheaper of the two that pop up are the ones I'm talking about.
Thanks I'll take a look.
Your welcome
I personally use the razer moray headset. Can be purchased online from ebay for as low as 17.00. Granted they do not have inline controls but they do have inline mic as well as great comfort level and surprisingly good audio quality.

That's weird, one side of my stock set went out too recently (the side with the mic). It puts out aroud 5% volume, barely audible, while the other side is fine. I was thinking about calling T-Mo and complaining to get a new set. I've had mine since July and haven't used them much.
I use these http://www.amazon.com/Skullcandy-S2INBI-FZ-Inline-Microphone-Black/dp/B002SW3MP8/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1295634861&sr=8-2 and I love them. The bass is deep and tight, and they are ultra comfortable, and the weight of mic does NOT cause the earphone to come outta your ear like some with other heavier mics... people say voice quality is great!
I've never used my original set, pm me if you're interested.
Don't know if they have a Fred Meyers in your neck of the woods. But I bought a pair of Skull Candy headphones w/mic for $19.00. They work decently.

Or just solder an old but good set of earphones onto the cable. The only thing that matters are the drivers producing the sound...the rest are just wires.

Maybe I misunderstand what you are asking, slikk, but wanting the same headphones that came with the phone means to seek out OEM Samsung headphones.
If a product being sold by a third party is stated as an OEM product, then it means the seller did not manufacture it (thereby being from the "Original Equipment Manufacturer"). So to get headphones manufactured by Samsung, thus being the same ones that came with the phone, you actually WANT an OEM Samsung product.
The ones I linked to are an OEM product, so they would be the same ones that came with the phone.
Are these the same as the ones that come with vibrant.
If so, whats the difference between the above headset and this one besides the price.

They are claiming OEM, but the picture doesn't match the stock headphones you get when you buy a vibrant. Maybe the photo they are using is wrong, or maybe they are made by Samsung and the seller misidentified them as t959...no idea.
I actually bought the ones I linked to because the left ear on mine went out, so I can vouch they are the same as what you get when you originally bought your phone.
Hope I've helped you out.
The ones from Deal Day link above are the ones that came stock in the box. I have ordered a pair as well. You can get them there for about $15 or from Samsung for $30. Up to you.

Just what I needed. I got my Vibrant off Craigslist so they didn't include any headphones. Replacements for less than $10? Win.. How is the quality on them though?
haven't recieved them yet. Expecting them in a day or so. I contacted the seller,he said they are OEM. I would expect the quality to be the same as the stock ones.

I used stock ones..they were great. I havent used anything else so cant compare those with others.
The sound quality on these stock headphones is okay, but nothing spectacular. They are what you expect from a pair costing less than $20. They are quite nice for calls because it seems they are tuned for voice frequencies. For music, the low end rolls off much sooner as compared to higher quality headphones and are not as dynamic. This is the case compared to Woodees w/mic, Koss Porta Pros, UE TripleFi 10 and Grado 225i, all headphones in which I own at various price points. If you can get them for less than $10, I would say that is still a great value.
received the headset bought on ebay. I can confirm they are OEM manufactured by Samsung.
An alternative.
If you're interested in some mic'd headphones that are a good deal higher in quality without breaking the bank, MEElectronics's white CC51P in-ear monitors with microphone are on sale at Amazon for $50, down from the $80 range. I've used the non-mic'd version myself, and the sound quality nearly brought me to tears
If you google "176 review IEM", you'll find a treasure trove of information about in-ear buds, including pricing and value. MEElectronics is known for making excellent budget in-ear buds, with the CC51 and a151 being some of the best sub-100 ear buds on the market (according to the site, at least.)
The stock ones are quite decent actually. Esspcially with voodoo sound module

lol, beyond awful
I use a pair of Panasonic RP-HSC200K as my dedicated gym buds. They're the kind that wrap around your ear so they don't fall out and can resist my gross sweat. They're flexible and can take the abuse of throwing them into my gym bag with my shoes and gear (so far). I like that style because buds like the stock one and iPod ones I have kept popping out my ear when I jog/use the elliptical and get sweaty. They cost $60 and the sound is decent in my opinion. I wasn't looking for audiophile quality considering that I knew they would be abused and soaked in sweat, lol. I didn't want to get something that I would have to worry about.
The mic integration works fine and the button to pause/skip to next song, but the volume controls don't work with my Nexus. They do on iPhone and iPods.

I hear that. I carried these headphones over from when I used to have an iPhone 4 and yeah, it kind of sucks to lose that functionality.
Apparently it's difficult overall to find a pair where both volume up and down work on the in-line controls? Doesn't seem like a lot of models that are iPhone compatible work with Android as well. I dunno. I do have a pair of Skull Candy earbuds as well with mic and volume controls. I'll have to re-test it and see if it works.

If your willing to spend the $100 I HIGHLY recommend the Jaybird Freedom. They are very good. Sweat/water resistant, comfortable, bluetooth, and sound really great especially for blue tooth.
I've had mine for about 3 weeks now and I now use them more than my cans or Bose wired headset. They have nice all around sound and nice bass and I've honestly never heard blue tooth headset sound so good.
Only two drawbacks I've seen with them are the mic is a little choppy if your talking to someone (Focus on your workout, not talking ), and your going to need to wear an armband if your outside as the signal won't have walls to bounce off and will cut in and out if your phone is in your pocket.
Check them out:
http://www.amazon.com/Jaybird-Freed...8DOM/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1333998241&sr=8-1
Edit: These things are easily worth the $99 price tag on Amazon. Now that I've used them and broke them in, I'd gladly pay $200 for them.

I appreciate everyone's input.
Unfortunately at the moment I can not spend more than I guess 50 to 60 dollars on a pair. A) cause I need to replace my windshield and B) This will be probably only to listen to music while I work out I rarely ever since myself in situations where I am listening to music while I am out and about unless I am driving I would have it plugged into my stereo.
Those Jaybirds looks so legit I wish I could get them. I think I am going to have to get the skull candy one. God I wish they didn't have the ****ty logo. Looks so high schoolish. Ugh I hate that. I probably look like so punk kid that has no respect for their elders lol.
Unless anyone else has any suggestions for something under 60 or 50. Sound quality would be nice I understand you get what you pay for.

Looking for a Pair of Earbuds (NOT "In-Ear")

I'm looking for a Pair of Earbuds similar to the white ones that come with the iPhone/iPod Touch. I don't like the "in-ear" ones with the rubber tips that go inside the ear canal. I find them to be uncomfortable and they tend to slip off without much effort. Audio quality is not really a huge issue from me. I mean, I'm no audiophile but I don't want it to sound horrible either. Also, price is not a big concern. The reason why I don't use the iPhone ones is because of the poor build quality. I've searched around but can't find anything I like so I thought I'd ask here thanks in advance!

I bought some Sony ear buds with the 'wrap around the ear' position retention device (@ the Buy More, $25). I forget they are there and they don't leave blisters on my inner tragus.

Well see I thought about Beats but I keep hearing mixed reviews. Guess I'll have to try them

All of the Beats models look like they are in-ear to me. Which model are you looking at?
I'm not too familiar with good quality earbuds, but you should consider that with foam tips, in ear headphones can be very comfortable and stay in place well. The stock silicon ones are usually itchy to me, but the foams are nice and I barely notice my earphones are even in. Extra bonus is added noise isolation.
Just food for thought. Oh, and I'd stay away from all things Beats.

I've tried the foam ones as well but Idk I guess my ear are weird or I'm not putting them in right because they fall off too. The first pair of in-ear earbuds I bought were actually skull candy with foam tips and I haven't liked them since then lol guess I'm just going to have to go with actual headphones.
Any recommendations?

I'm using some Shure's with the Shure black foam "Olives". To fit them in, roll the tip to compress them, then stick the IEM (in ear monitor) in your ear, and hold it for a second. Also, using the kind that runs the cable over the top/back of the ear helps then stay secure.
You might have used a size you small.
Incidentally, Skull Candy never has impressed me either, lol.
www.head-fi.org is the best place to go to research and learn. You might just find the perfect pair of IEMs for cheaper than you think, and then spend a little bit on Shure or Comply foams, and be happy until you realize that even MORE expensive earphones intrigue you.

Skull Candy and Beats are pretty much a waste as you can get much better quality for the same price. If you just want an everyday brand that's worth the cash Sony is great. The ones I have are excellent sound-wise; the only issue with in-ear headphones is that they can lead to a lot of build-up from actually pushing wax back into your ear canal.
That is true. I q-tip my ears daily to eliminate buildup getting into mine.
Also, a little expensive, and I know very little about them, but I did find high quality earbuds fun a respected brand.

I'd have to wear those as jewelry at all times to justify that price.
Lol. I've spent that much in the last year and a half on two pairs of IEMs. Whenever my current ones die, I'm sure I'll spend around $300.

Lol they are pretty sweet tho... But if I'm going to shell out $250 for earbuds might as well go all out and by some nice quality headphones

If you are looking at headphones, Sony stereo headphones MDR-ZX100's are great and cheap. I think they're 25$ at Wal Mart

I have tried all kinds of earphones and the ones i found most confortable, good quality and excellent sounding are the Sennheiser MX460 . Not expensive either. Not foam or in ear.
