[MOD][ICS][XPOSED] Tweakbox: no-flashing tweaks collection (1.4.0)(23.01.2013) - Galaxy S II Themes and Apps

Maybe you have read about my project called "Xposed", maybe not. In short, it is a framework that can be used to create modifications without touching the APKs, which in turn means that nothing needs to be flashed.
Tweakbox was the first module for Xposed and developed for a 4.0.3 stock ROM for of the Galaxy S2. While Xposed works with many different devices and ROMs, quite a few (or many?) of the tweaks below assume certain existing code in the ROM which can be patched and used. As a consequence, they might work or might not work for you. Especially if you have a non-Samsung phone, only few of the tweaks will work. It depends on your exact ROM what will work, I can't tell you because I don't have your ROM.
Please also note: I'm no longer using Tweakbox after my switch to CM10.1. Therefore this module is no longer actively maintained. You can try if it works for you, but it's unlikely that more features or support for more devices will be added. Patches are still welcome. So please don't be upset if it doesn't work for you - I had planned to remove it, but why should I if still lots of people are using it?
Now to the list of implemented tweaks:
Statusbar
Number of bars for signal strength indicator
Background color. Looks weird actually because most apps aren't made for this.
Clock color
Toggle "switch input method" notification while typing text
[*]CRT (see below for requirements - will probably not work for you)
CRT off effect
CRT on effect
CRT landscape detection
Battery
Levels for critical/low battery warning
Disable Samsung's "100% charged, unplug me now" notification
Phone
Vibrate on Call Wait
Increasing Ringer Volume
Call Recording (see below for requirements - will probably not work for you)
Built-in SIP
Miscellaneous
Don't turn on the screen when unplugging from USB/AC
Choose long HOME key behaviour (do nothing, classical/icon-only, new/thumbnails). Just sets a switch, the implementation has to exist in the ROM.
Skip tracks with a long press on the volume up/down key, ported from here (only when screen is off)
[*]Experimental
Fake 240 DPI for Play Store
The colors can be picked with an extended version of the color picker made by [email protected] This gives you the chance to select any RGB color plus the transparency - steplessly!
Requirements for CRT / call recording:
The CRT effect requires that /system/lib/libsurfaceflinger.so is prepared for this effect. Many phones produce flickering for the CRT off effect. The CRT on effect and rotation awareness is isn't included in the normal library.
Patching the library is much work and unfortunately the library cannot be transferred to other ROMs or phones in most cases.
If you have a stock-based ROM for your I9100, you can push the library from the attached zip to /system/lib at your own risk (if you don't know how to undo it if you get a bootloop, don't do it).
For the I9300, the library can be found here.
For other phones/ROMs/versions: Sorry, I'm not planning to patch more libraries.
Call recording will probably only work on I9100 ICS Stock and only if you have the libraries install from this post. Same game: Know what you're doing or don't do it. I don't know where these libraries originally came from, so I can't provide them for other ROMs.
You might also try this module, I believe it only works on Samsungs's JB ROMs though.
Changelog:
1.0: Initial version [126 downloads]
1.1: Fixed signal strength bars, added color picker for status bar background color (replacing the list) and clock color (added in this version) [543 downloads]
1.2: Some intermediate release, only some betas published
1.3: Lots of new things [3676 downloads]:
- Toggle "switch input method" notification while typing text
- CRT off (no flickering)/CRT on/landscape awareness for SGS2 (tested) and SGS3 (waiting for your feedback). Also triggers the CRT effect if the ROM doesn't (should fix SGS3).
- Phone tweaks: Vibrate on Call Wait, Increasing Ringer Volume, Call Recording, Built-in SIP
- (experimental) Play Store fix for non-standard densities
1.3.1: Compatibility with framework version 2.0
1.3.2: Minor changes for Xposed 2.1
1.4.0: Clock color tweak should now work for more ROMs. Removed (not working) market fix and hidden per-app DPI settings
Installation: See the first post in the Xposed framework thread. You need the framework AND the attached module.
Source code: at GitHub.
Credits to Tungstwenty for all the support and his many contributions, the CM9 project for the long press volume key mod, el_liberator for a hint about the statusbar color, attenzione for the color picker.

Although th 5/6 signal bar mod works, it still has a maximum value of 4 signal bars with the last 1/2 bars always empty. Hope you can fix it.

Now that you're saying it.. I thought I just didn't have a full signal.
This setting actually just enables something built-in, but deactivated. And it seems that Samsung had just started to implement this, but has not finished it. The part where it calculates the signal strength to be displayed is still in the range from 0 to 4. I'll see what I can do. I think Jkay has activated the same function, so maybe he can tell me what he did to fix it.

No problem. Hopefully you can fix it!
Also, could you do mods such as hide alarm clock, vibrate/silent icons, time hide, battery hide?
I found some smail codes for that here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=8104552#post8104552

The signal strength bars are fixed in the next version.. at least for GSM. For CDMA, EVDO and LTE, the signal strength will be interpolated (means that level 1 will be skipped, plus level 5 for the 6 bar version, to have a range from 0 to 6 instead of 0 to 4).
I have also started looking into the status bar icons. I think I found a good place to hide them, but haven't tried yet.

Can't wait for the new version. I can test for you if you there's anything.

thread bookmarked!
Things to consider implenting:
- ics lockscreen on/off
- sammy lockscreen on/off
- hide sms from call log
- no autoconvert of sms to mms
- toggles?
- clock color
- new notification bar in dropdown?
- brighness level/profile
- lockscreen switch
- density changer with market modder
- show/hide statusbar icons
- hardwarebutton for cam
- no low/full battery sound
- reboot options
- remove swipe to unlock text from ls
- tranparent ls
- ...
There is so much u could implement...i think, that is the problem jkay is struggling with. Samsung and google have left so many gaps to fill...i will try to help and find some tutorials to support this project.
Anyway ur idea and approach is brilliant!! Lots of thx for ur efforts mate! Cheers

I think a switch between the two would be better

I have just uploaded version 1.1. Additionally to the signal strength fix, I have added the possibility to change the status bar clock color.
Also I found a very nice color picker and added it to the settings. This makes it possible to select any color with any transparency.

@haasgo: Thanks for the big list of suggestions!
In general: I will concentrate on things I use myself. I have a full-time job, a girlfriend and don't want to spend *every* free minute developing, otherwise I will probably lose interest soon. As I use Go Launcher EX, WidgetLocker and exDialer, it's very unlikely that I will create mods for the launcher, lockscreen or dialer. Also you mentioned some SMS related things.. I write and get very few texts, so don't hope for these features too much.
Anyway, here comes the good thing. In contrast to mods as we know them, where someone patched the framework-res, systemui etc. and published the files, you can combine different modules. Someone else can implement some lockscreen mods and you can use both, with the combined power.
And second, the project is open-source (see first post). If someone implements a new feature or a bugfix, they can send me a pull request so I can integrate it into the Tweakbox.
That said, some specific notes:
- ics lockscreen on/off
- sammy lockscreen on/off
Do you mean this? Sounds easy to implement.
- hide sms from call log => see above
- no autoconvert of sms to mms => see above
- toggles? => the quick settings? yes, definitely on my list!
- clock color => done
- new notification bar in dropdown? => not sure what you mean
- brighness level/profile => will look into it
- lockscreen switch => is this the same as above?
- density changer with market modder => what is the "market modder"? I used the "LCD Density Changer", which works fine
- show/hide statusbar icons => will look into it
- hardwarebutton for cam => maybe
- no low/full battery sound => already implemented (see menu "battery")
- reboot options => what would you like to see there?
- remove swipe to unlock text from ls => see above
- tranparent ls => see above

Totally agree with your approach on this.
You came up with an awesome concept, took the effort to actually make it real, and have now provided a great tool for modders / tweakers to use this framework to do the stuff they please.
I also have a (more than) full-time job, a wife (which is worse than a girlfriend, time-wise ), and definitely agree you should focus on stuff you actually use, which is the things that you're surely more motivated to work on when you do have some spare time for this hobby.
For the community, the great added value you can bring - in addition to the huge step already achieved - is perhaps improving the framework here and there in order to make easier and easier some of the tasks. One of the examples I recall is the recent discussion about the "pos-layout-inflated" hook so you easily have a way to programmatically apply a delta over an existing layout, minimizing collisions between mods or base stock changes that render invalid a mod one writes.
About the mods that could be written, and on a personal preference, the stuff I'm more eager to get (or implement when I get the chance ) are definitely the quick toggles and the additional entries for the power menu (which is what I believe haasgo was referring when mentioning "reboot options" ???).
Also, in the framework itself, I'm still not totally aware of the level of support for changes without reboot, meaning: activating/deactivating a mod (perhaps you can activate it but then must manually kill say "SystemUI process"), changing settings for some of the Tweakbox items and have them reflected immediately, etc.
In summary: you've done an awesome job so far . There are still some small things that might be helpful in the framework itself, but the definite quantum leap is about to happen as soon as this thing gains momentum and mods start appearing that use the framework, bringing more and more devs to this paradigm.

Sorry to be picky but now the 5/6 signal bar mod always shows no bars at all.

I cannot reproduce that.. it has always been working fine for me since I fixed the problem a good week ago.
Anyone else having this problem? Did you restart your phone? I had some strange effects (e.g. battery icon gone) when I tried to just kill the SystemUI. And what does the phone status in the settings app say? For GSM, the number of bars is directly dependent on the "asu level", for others there should be a simple translation from the default (0 to 4) levels.

Anyone using a non-standard density and being annoyed that some Samsung apps don't use the available space? For example like, I'm using 210 dpi. In the calculator, phone, calender etc., there is a big gap on the bottom right.
Well, I found a way to trick those apps into some kind of compatibility mode, which scales up the dimensions. Sometimes that's a bit blurry, but much better than before. And of course, it's looking like a baby phone again with those big buttons. I'm just wondering why it doesn't work well for some apps. Theoretically, this should make it possible to select different densities for all/most apps, but it works only partly.

Your software work very good bro
Good job.
It is possible to add fonctionnality crt on ? For exemple and %battery.
Add most or change toggle it is possible?.
Why % battery bécause when i make this my systemui work when i put in uptdate rom but not work in full rom instal i lost my status bar grrr Lol.
Thanks for your very good job bro.

2 Phone tweaks
I finally took this baby for a spin and implemented 2 patches that I was missing.
This is very rudimentary for now, but just like rovo this is most of all to fulfill my personal needs
The 2 patches I implemented were:
Activate the phone call recording button. This requires manually replacing 2 library files, initially shared by rlorange in this post but that I know attach since the link is dead.
When calling someone and that person is in the middle of a call (outbound call waiting), in addition to the popup message also vibrate the device so you'll know you're on hold even if you're no longer looking at the screen.
Hope this might be useful to someone.
You'll need to have the Xposed framework v1.6+ installed and activate my module in there once the app is installed. Also, you'll need to activate the patches you want (both default to OFF).
Cheers!

Wow, congratulations on that! Nice to see a mod by someone else.

I don't think it's possible from Java side to enable CRT On... the CRT Off is already there (although buggy on some ROMs), I just had to set the switch.
Battery percentage.. maybe. I actually prefer battery icons that already include the percentage.
And what do you mean with "Add most or change toggle"? Those quick settings? I will implement more toggles, but I didn't find the time yet.

Even in sgs2 there are some variants (asian, I think) that don't enforce that restriction. I guess that's where the alternate libs came from.

[4.2.2][jdq39][aosp] SHPONGLE [halo][beta][20130630]

Hello mate,
Before rushing to download this rom (I know everyone does it, I'm not an exception either), take some time to read what I'm about to write down here.
Let me introduce you to my ROM, called simply: SHPONGLE.
Its a ROM like every other one, nothing too special about it, everyone knows the features, you have seen it in every rom that its out there for other phones. So if you expect this one to be something really special, something that will blow your mind away, stop, take a long, deep breathe and close this page. This is not a ROM that makes you pancakes, nor it will transform your device in something way more cooler than a Nexus, for example.
I've spent days and nights working on this new release and I know you were waiting anxiously for me to say "Build's up", I'm sorry I kept you, mate, waiting for such a long time but you know me (do you?). If even one single bug was introduced, the build was canceled. That's why it took so long. There are numerous things changed and added that, I hope I kept track of everything. There were numerous errors/crashes/incompatibilities to squash and I'm very proud of myself right now.
So, what is SHPONGLE and why did you changed the name?
When I first worked on Evervolv and fixed almost everything in one go, I thought that I've found a gold mine. To bring an AOSP rom to life, on a legacy device, its pretty much committing suicide. Not only there are 99% chances that the build will not get past Htc's logo screen, but there is 100% chance of not having things working in it ever (take for example camera, which is pretty much hacked because HTC does its job of not releasing camera drivers).
Evervolv's base helped us so much, I want to thank them for doing a great job on keeping legacy devices alive, but, it is time to let go.
Then I started to feel "home sick" of my last ROM for Hero (its a phone) and I thought: "Why shouldn't I work myself in turning this Evervolv ROM in something totally different, in the memory of my last ROM?". So that's how, there is no Evervolv anymore, nor it will be in the near future. This right here is SHPONGLE. Welcome, to One V, Shpongle!
At its core, this ROM still remains an Evervolv, but I have faith that the birth of his child, SHPONGLE, will rock on your device even if I will be gone.
Yeah, but what SHPONGLE means, anyway?
If any of you wants to know what it really is, I suggest you go and search on Youtube. If you are a little bit like myself, you'll love it!
I feel the need to repeat myself now, mate: This ROM has nothing special in it. It's just the result of my love, passion and a bit of myself inside. You'll feel the smoothness but you will also feel some strutting. Don't blame the ROM (well, you can blame it) but blame the HW. With 512 mb of ram, you can't expect too much of it frankly.
On with the ROM we go!

Sorry to say this but you will get a lot of UI freezes and force closings - I don't know the cause of it YET, but you guys can get me logcat of those - PLEASE - work with each other and provide only 1 LOGCAT of the same issue, not multiple logcats for one issue. I want you to work as a team because only then this rom will get where it should be, with your help!
I want:
logcat with GPS trying to lock into satelites (using google maps or something similar while you do a logcat);
logcat with the UI freezes;
I don't want:
logcat for camera;

Thank you as well. Take note that the status bar seems pretty laggy and unstable if you play with it. I managed to get SystemUI to restart itself while I was in the lockscreen and I wanted to slide down the status bar. I pressed and hold the statusbar for 5 seconds while in lockscreen and the UI just restarted itself.
Another issue:
When you receive a SMS and you are in the lockscreen, slide the statusbar down, and press the message. You will not be directed into the messaging app but instead you will see the lockscreen. When you will slide to go to home screen, the message saying that the sms app has stopped working will appear - This issue is easily fixed by forcing the status bar to not be accessible when in lockscreen - Need to search for the code to implement it. MINOR issue!
stupid internet being stupid, hurry up please rom is almost done but for gps i need gapps too which take a long ass time for some reason... goo.im seems to be a really slow host, everything i download from them takes a long ass time.

Lars, if you can, download phone tester from Play and test GPS and see if its locking.
Can't wait to try this out but as I've got to get up early must sleep now.

Why didnt i think of that? thanks soham! that doesnt work, it says 0/0 sattelites (logcat attached as always) really weird since google maps knows my exact location which i assume it cant know with only the gsm network. well ill let 1ce look at it and find out whats causing that (hopefully) but now im really gonna make some food! hungry as hell :$
Also made a logcat for UI but dont know if i did it the right way actually, 1ce please tell me if the UI logcat is what you need it to be, if no ill try again
I'm pretty sure I did. But I'm off the pc for now. Started to get a worse headache again and don't wanna take any risks. I'll make another one if it isn't what you need. hit me up via pm if it isnt. Alright? By the way, share chicken wings!!!!!
been trying to get another logcat for you just to be sure, but cant get the ui to crash again -.-, like when you need it to crash it wont crash and ill bet you if i take it away from my pc it will crash all the time :')
Edit: still won't crash. I see that as a good thing but still it's not really good since I can't help you troubleshoot this way. I'm sorry man, been using the UI very intensively in the last few hours but it just won't crash. So that can mean two things, it's fixed or I'm just really lucky.

Yes the above is overkill, but if you are experiencing an sort of problems this should be your first step before posting bug reports.
I am ocd when it comes to wiping clean and restore very little between ROMs, and it is super rare that I have any issues.
speaking of bug reports....
How To Submit a Bug Report in a Developer Forum
Before You Press Submit...
Make sure you can reproduce the bug on a clean flash (yes clean like above)
Make sure you meet all requirements for ROM (very little for this one)
Capture any log possible of event, Aroma log and logcat specifically (explained below)
Post as much detail as you can along with the log (pastebin or .txt or code wraps)
List all info on your bootloader screen
Anything else you can think of that may be causing your problem (that rouge app you installed, when you dropped your phone in the bath, when you through it at the beehive outside school)
And of course know that I'm not being a ****, I want to help you, and I want you to enjoy this ROM. I just need good information to make sure you are problem free!

Logcatting Like A PRO!
Simple way, download app from market... but not as helpful
What your after is more than just
Code:
adb logcat myproblem.txt
This is nice but something more helpful
Code:
adb shell dmesg ; adb logcat -b system -b radio -b events -b main
:good:
also if there was a reboot or something to this extent
Code:
adb shell cat /proc/last_kmsg > kmsg.txt
Here are some more tips if your unsure
Being I am here to help I don't mind you asking, "Hey this happened and I would like to help find out why, can you help me get a log? etc... etc..."

Common Q & As...
Q. What is that bar on the bottom? How do I get rid of it or change it?
A. Probably referring to the navigation bar, this is found under settings> CyanMobile settings> Interface> Interface tweaks> Navbar tweaks.
Q. Getting annoyed with the boot sound! How do I remove it or change it?
A. CyanMobile settings> Performance Enable boot sound. Or CyanMobile settings> Interface> Choose/Restore bootsound
Q. Ummm... There's no root access for adb... Why?
A. Its off by default, go to Settings> Development> Root access and take your pick.
Q. So I just choose xxx splash screen in Aroma, I don't like it, I don't like the others, how do i get original back?
A. Either flash your original through fastboot or If you want I have another Aroma installer with over 40 more choices including both the G2 and DZ original splash screens Located Here
Q. Just flashed this ROM and saw the bootanimation just run for like 10 minuets... Fix this please!
A. This has been happening with some builds and it depends on what modification you choose in aroma. The ROM will always boot after the initial run through.
Simply plug in phone to computer and it will reboot and go strait to ROM (or reboot otherwise) This is a bug I'm tracking down, just know after first boot there is no issue here.

Although I sold the device, but I am appreciate your hard work and make vision batter.
Thank you for continue in old device.
Well it doesn't boot. After wiping everything and installing clear ( i mean withour additional apps, bootscreen and splashes etc. ) rom it boot only to splash screen, and after that phone reboot again to spash over and over again.

Hmmm, I've flashed and tested a dozen times with this zip, so very strange. Check md5sum for bad download and if possible can you save and upload recovery log from aroma here?
First boot does seem to take 3-5 min (30 seconds or so for next boot) only other thing I can think of is your bootloader, haven't checked the partition size to see if it will fit on the g2 bootloader.
I'll look into this when I get home myself, and all feedback is appreciated, although there aren't many issues I can find (but yes a couple fixes still need to be applied) this should be a daily driver for most and will be for sure soon enough!
Sent from my Nexus 4 using xda premium
EDIT:
This ROM is even smaller than I thought! you can for sure use the G2 hboot so this isnt your issue
see if adb is working when trying to boot, if so grab a logcat
also the aroma log would help (try flashing just ROM and gapps)

Very cool Rom! Only one problem so far, I have no home button. Doesn't work in nav bar, pie, or physical button.
Almost have it set up the way I want it. Thank you, been looking for something new.

This is the second strange bug report...
If you could get me a logcat I would be much appreciative as it will be the only way I can track this down and fix as I haven't had this issue before
I do appreciate all bug reports as with as many options this ROM has it is not easy to test all (but home button does work fine on my end )
To anyone else reporting bugs or general findings, thank you!
But I do require as much info as possible about a bug, logcats are very needed!
And yes I have a new build almost ready with some needed fixes, my internet seems to be at its slowest tonight so it may have to wait until morning
Happy Flashing!
EDIT:
I have not tested fully the enhanced key mapping, if you selected this in aroma then flash aroma again, don't flash ROM, just choose mods and return to normal key mapping and see if this fixes your issue
lets get some screenshots up in here! sounds great!

i find the JB roms to be a little sluggish compared to the Gingerbread i have on another desire z.
I was wondering if someone could tell me what im missing with JB or ICS if i were to go back to GB...
someone persuade me. lol
HAHA, just flash this ROM and you wont be missing a thing!
ok thats not true... :crying:
There are some apps that just will not work unless you have an api of 14 or higher (4.x)
the ui is cleaner 4.x and up, but lots of this is changed with a new launcher
... really off the top of my head cant think of much more, im sure there is though...
anyway new build should be up in about half an hour with some bug fixes, i suggest to wait for this, will be 1.0.3
still a few more bugs to hash out but my internet is being **** and i need some sleep so they will have to wait!
Happy Flashing!
Seems cool, but what is with the buttons on the bottom of the screen? How do you disable them?

This is the navbar, I will turn it off by default in next build as I'm finding it annoying to
Go to cyanmobile settings
Interface
Interface tweaks
Navbar tweaks, and then disable
When you do this wait 20 seconds for ui to reset, then you will see pie is enabled, if you don't like pie then scroll over in settings and disable it
There really are a ton of settings here so I'm not surprised if it takes people a while to find all options, it did for me!

Does anyone have continuous "Please unplug charger" notification when battery is fully charged? I have it, it doesn't matter is charger plugged or not but notification reappears every 30 seconds and it doesn't matter is a screen on or off. Logcat in attachment.
Workaround is to disable "Battery full alert".

Yeah its annoying! Just keep battery bellow 100%
Just kidding, I've been working on this one, I keep getting build errors while trying to fix it the proper way but if it takes me much longer I'll just have it disabled by default in the next build until I get it fixed proper like
Thanks for the logcat!

Awesome rom! My new DD, took me a good 2 hours to go through all the settings and get everything just the way I wanted. Loving (LOVING) all of the options. Was looking for semi status and pull down, this delivers. Showing much more ram usage then ilwt but it runs faster / smoother (in my opinion, and unused ram is ram that's being wasted! Hehe) anyways, I'm very impressed, changed the colors and installed a jb skin and I'm very happy. Couple questions.
I can't seem to answer my phone heh, there is no button or bar to move and I miss the call pawing at the screen trying to answer it heh. And I noticed there were adjust app permissions as one of the options, but how do I actually change them? Id love similar functionality to pdroid (perhaps someone can release a pdroid patched version?) Thanks for putting this out, very impressed.

Anyone who runs my ROMS knows that I thoroughly test my work before I even make it available for testing.
I try to release bug free Fully Custom FAR FROM STOCK ROM!!!
How to deal with BUGS and Reporting Issues
Sometimes a small bug or two can make itself present with a different users setup, and I'm sure if that happens you guys will be so happy to point it out and drag it on for 5 pages!!!
I will not respond to ANY KNOW bug issues!!!
Please use the "Search" button
and if you do find a bug give it a title in the subject line like "Bug report xxxxxx" so users who do use the search first will be able t find them faster and not waste value thread post on repeating nonsense!!!
See the "Know Issues" below for the current bug report and solutions.
Thanks you
Confirmed and written by users specific to the device 920/925 T/W8 - These are the steps (with screenshots) users use and confirmed ZERO issues with "FCs" and "Call not sent" issues, if any other experience the same they can follow those too:
In TWRP recovery:
1) wipe
2) Advanced wipe
3) wipe---> Dalvik/Cache/Data/System
4) Flash the V2 Rom
5) After it boot at setup wizard let the device sit for 5 minutes for Rom to settle. Go thru SETUP WIZARD and see if you get any FCs and test your dialer to see if you can make calls, IF NOT follow the following steps.
6) Reboot into Recovery
7) Download and flash kernel ( the-sickness V4 or ozop kernel aroma zip and choose kernel of your choice)
8) Let device boot and FCs should be gone and now you can make phone calls.
920/925 "F", "I" - The way I installed is as follows.
Reboot to recovery and using TWRP the following
1. Full wipe excluding the internal memory.
2. Flash rom.
3. Flash this incall audio patch.
4. Install hacker kernel version 14
5. Boot rom and setup.
6. Setup ozop control.
Then tested in call audio by talking to my other who is in Spain while I'm In the UK.
v3 INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
*CLEAN INSTALL FULL WIPE RECOMMENDED(If you dirty flash and have issue DO NOT POST BUG REPORTS!!!)
1) Just install like normal
2) Kernel install is OPTIONAL but should be fine since the zip will not remove or replace your current boot.img
3) be patient!! Boot time is around 12 min, but could take up to 20!
4) IMPORTANT INFO ABOUT SETUP: THE SETUP IS HIT OR MISS DEPENDING ON YOUR SIGNAL CONNECTION, WIFI IS BEST.
THE OPTIONS FOR SETUP ARE AS FOLLOWS:
AS SOON AS THE SETUP SCREEN COMES ON JUST START "SKIPPING", HIT SKIP, SKIP, SKIP ALL THE WAY TO THE END BEFORE THE DATA CONNECTS OR IF YOU WANT TO SETUP AND GET STUCK ON THE "CHECKING CONNECTION FLASH THIS TO REMOVE_SETUP_WIZARD
5) Now you should be on your home screen, time to activate OZOP Control mods! Do this by opening the app and granting super user of course, the app is verifying some files in the system then you will see instant changes to the statusbar, but that's not enough. So firsst open the sections menu by hitting the 3 lines in the top left of the screen, then first open the "All Colors/BG's" sections, then click to open each of the 7 sections within that menu option. That will get most of the mods activated. You can now go and actviate the rest by simply opening, then closing each part of each section.
That's is. ENJOY!!!!
OZOP v5 Installation Instructions, Discussion and Download Link begins here
INSTRUCTIONS FOR POST INSTALL SET UP OF OZOP CONTROL:
1) CLEAN INSTALL RECOMMENDED BECAUSE OF THE NEW BUILD OF OZOP CONTROL APP
2) SET UP LIKE NORMAL
3) FIRST THING IS GO TO OZOP CONTROL AND GRANT ROOT ACCESS
4) CLICK THE 3 LINES FOR MENUS ON TOP LEFT
5) OPEN EACH SECTION AND each sub section AND THAT WILL ACTIVATE THE MODS AND YOU WILL NOTICE CHANGES INSTANTLY
6) ENJOY

For Edge users
This is an exact duplicate thread from the Flat forum.
I am only posting it here to let Edge users be aware that this is an Edge based rom with ALL Edge features working!
I will check in here from time to time, but I didn't get much love from this community with my OZOP LP version so the main thread will and always will remain the Flat thread.
If you have urgent questions post in this thread.
Thanks and enjoy a new option for your Edge rom.

ADD YOUR OWN CUSTOM IMAGE WITH THE OZOP CUSTOM BACKGROUND TEMPLATE
1) Download the Custom_BG_Template_OZOP_MM_07.08.2016.zip ATTACHED BELOW and extract the files to your phone or PC.
2) Choose your image and which BG you want to change (image can be a png or jpg, IMPORTANT only that the name matches my template for exact replacement
Now using the extracted zip template move your image that has been renamed to following locations and names
a) Main System BG - stangs_bg.png and stangs_bg_light.png(1080x1920, not as important as the others, it will be resized automatically)
Code:
(template location = vrtheme/system/framework/framework-res.apk/res/drawable-sw360dp-xxxhdpi-v13)
c) Pulldown Notification - pulldown1.jpg, pulldown2.jpg, pulldown3.jpg and so on up to pulldown15.jpg (1080x1920) add up to 15 option that you can instantly toggle with OZOP Control
Code:
(template location = vrtheme/system/priv-app/SystemUI/SystemUI.apk/res/drawable-xxxhdpi)
3) Name your image to match the image you want to change (if it's a png, just name it jpg). The image size may need to be played with to your liking, there are plenty of app in playstore for this
4) place your renamed image in the location I've described above (remove any image from the template you don't want to use)
5) Zip up the files and flash
6) Enjoy and show off your work to the rest of us!!!
NOTE FOR DIALER BG's
Dialers = are all stored in the "ozop" folder in your phones extra storage. Replace any of the images with png or jpg renamed to match EXACTLY. Then use OZOP Control to switch
Added a couple of very rough first addition keyboards.
Chrome edge v2 keyboard fixed for symbols to be visible now
Caller_ID for unidentified numbers attached below
Well, not even 1 reply
That's disappointing, I hope everyone is just in the flat s6 forums
the amount of hours put into this for not even a response is crazy
Love your ROMS. Was looking forward to this

This rom does look super sweet. Plus @Maqical recommended it. Spent my whole weekend flashing and restoring my phone. But plan to flash this on my edge ASAP (now that I'm back to work from long weekend as soon as I get some time). What are the animation scales set to and does it use csc secondary keyboard symbols ? Not to be trivial or anything

UPLOAD SUCCESSFUL!!!!! OP UPDATED WITH LINK FOR V2!
Now, I'm absolutely fried and exhausted right now. I'm going to go out for at least a good 12 hrs right now.
The only instructions are HIGHLY RECOMMENDED FOR CLEAN INSTALL!
If you dirty flash you will definitely not get the full update.
Other than that, same as any other MM rom.
Wipe in recovery
Flash rom
(Optional) flash kernel of choice
Wait a good 15 min to boot (phone will vibrate at least once and boot animation will slow down a certain points, all is good!)
After it boots recommended to just let it settle for a good 5 min or so.
After setup wizard go to OZOP Control FIRST Grant root and open every section of every menu options! This activated all the mods, you will notice changes in text colors and BG images. These are only default options and can all be changed from the various sections of the all.
Done and done!
ENJOY!
Hello @stangdriver44 I install your rom on my G925I and run perfect, but i lost the root ,I cant install root.
Hello,

Just want to say this ROM took a lot of tweaking and configuring about (as it deservedly intended to) but after much time and effort, possibly one of the best ROMs I've ever flashed and probably my Daily driver finally for while.
Not sure why OP doesn't get much love here but you got my kudos and respect on this project. Can't wait to see how this develops! +1
Edit: Only bugs I can report for development is Phone FCs and Smart Manager too. Can provide logcats if needed

So what is this? This is a Magisk module that adds the following features to any Pixel 3, 4 or 5 device running on Android 11:
Forces Google Sans font system wide
63 Accent colors
12 Icon shapes
22 Fonts
Wallpapers Breel 2019; 2020 & 2020a
9 different Dark Styles
Adds 2 button mode navigation (it was removed on Android 11 but I think some users like that navigation mode, so I add it)
Background Blur options
Blur Intensity options
Adaptive sound options
Navigation bar options (hide pill, reduce keyboard bottom space size, hide assist handles)
SystemUI Tuner options
Rounded corner options
QS Rows x Columns options
QS Footer Drag Handle options (Default, Accent based, Hidden)
Option to show more icon notifications on staus bar
Forces Basic Attestation thus making ctsProfile true by just enabling Magisk Hide
Rom Control app (to setup all options available that you cannot using just Styles & Wallpapers)
Everything can be controlled using Styles & Wallpapers and also Rom Control app.
This MOD will probably work on any AOSP, or close to it, ROMs.
Get it here: Android_11_Addon_Features_for_Pixel_V8.zip
Just a note, this module already includes a SafetyNet fix, so if you're using another module for SafetyNet, please remove it since I don't know if that couldn't cause issues.
For all users already running Android 12 please go to THIS THREAD.
Addon Features EXCLUSIVE for Pixel Devices running on STOCK Android 11 ROM:
These exclusive and specific for Pixel Devices running on STOCK Android 11 ROM Magisk modules that you'll see next adds all of the features stated above but with extra goodies!
"Exclusive features" included:

Corrected lock screen icons not changing after applying different theme
"Disco Dingo" the QS (just a funny name for the option to apply random colors on QS toggles)
Hide QS Labels
Lock screen album art customization
Lock screen camera shortcut (enable/disable)
Lock screen custom clock faces
Network Traffic Indicators (unfortunately, on redfin, it only works on QS Header and not on status bar)
QS Battery percentage independent options
QS Header opacity level control
QS Headers styles
QS Panel opacity level control
QS Tiles styles
QS Data usage info
QS Rows x Columns options (both on portrait and landscape modes)
Reduce Status bar height (and correct left padding on devices with the notch on the left)
Removed side assist handles from lock screen
Status bar Quick Pulldown (Never, Right pulldown, Left pulldown, Always)
Switch styles
Touch QS Labels to add or remove on QS customize panel (just didn't bothered to translate "Tap or Drag Tiles..." strings, so you'll continue to see "Drag Tiles..." but the feature is there, try it.)
Exclusive features downloads:
Android_11_Addon_Features_For_Pixel_V13.zip -> "Harmless" module that works on any Pixel device running on STOCK ROM, much like the "universal mod" shared above, but with a Rom Control app version that has more options. The "exclusive features" options won't do anything if the SystemUI module, shared next, isn't installed. If your going to try these exclusive features module, install this one and not the one shared above. The SaftetyNet is also included on this module, so once again, don't try to use any other SafetyNet module since it could break things.
Android_11_SystemUI_for_Addon_Features_V10.zip -> This is "THE" module! This module adds all xml and smali changes into SystemUI. Without this module the "exclusive features" won't work. Also, this module could be responsible for breaking boot if it fails to work at your end. I've ran several tests on my device (a Pixel 4a) and didn't face any issues but, since this module replaces stock SystemUI for a modded SystemUI, you could run into problems if some other module tries to do the same or it's simply incompatible with it. This module was updated to match latest Android 11 October 2021 build.
Android_11_SystemUI_for_Addon_Features_V9.zip -> Use this version ONLY if you're still running any Android 11 build between June and September 2021!
Notes regarding the "exclusive version" for Pixel devices:
DO NOT, I'll repeat, DO NOT flash "SystemUI module" zip on any other ROM besides stock. It won't work! If you want those extra features on your current ROM you will have to port them yourself. I explain how to later on this post.
Make sure that you're able to run adb shell as root before rebooting your device.
If something goes wrong after flashing "SystemUI module", like if your device doesn't boot or something stupid, connect your phone to your PC during boot and run this:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
su
Code:
rm -rf /data/adb/modules/Modded_SystemUI && reboot
If you forgot to enable the ability to run adb shell as root, and if your device is on a "non-boot" state, the only way you can fix that is to remove all Magisk modules you have installed. That can be achieved by running the following commands during boot:
Code:
adb shell
Code:
magisk --remove-modules

If none of the above methods work to get your device booting, then you have to boot into safe mode. By doing so, Magisk will disable all modules for you (it doesn't uninstall them, just disables them). To force a boot into safe mode all you need to do is to keep pressing volume down button during boot animation. After the system boots into safe mode you can reboot your device to boot up normally (since all modules will be disabled). If you get stuck during boot animation again, just force another reboot (I've had to do that during my tests).
The "SystemUI module" requires that your device is already updated to March build!
When a new OTA update comes please don't flash the "SystemUI module" until I say it's ok to do so. I mean, me or any other member who may have tested it. Why? Because Google may change things on stock SystemUI between builds. When that happens, I have to recreate the module again to adapt those changes. For instance, March build was not compatible with the module that was built on top of February build SystemUI. Rest assured that I'll always test the module with new builds and update as necessary.
In case your device gets caught in a bootloop, please provide me a logcat so I may try and look if anything can be done about it. To do so, during boot connect your device to your PC and grab a logcat with this adb command:
Code:
adb logcat > log.txt
Requirements:
Unlocked bootloader
Magisk Root | Magisk Manager
Suggestion:
Uninstall all other modules you may have installed IF you're going for the "exclusive features". They could be incompatible with the "SystemUI module" thus making the device get caught in a bootloop. You may install them afterwards, one by one, just to make sure everything is ok.
If you're up to it, instead of disabling/removing modules, just flash latest stock build through fastboot. If you want to retain your data, remove the "-w" flag from the update command on flash-all script.
How to install? (If you're running a Pixel 5, just install the module...you don't need all these next steps)
Uninstall Device Personalization Services updates
Clear Google Play Store app data and cache
Flash the Magisk Module(s)
Reboot device
Open Google Play Store and update Device Personalization services (or any other Pixel exclusive app you see it needs to update).
Profit!

How's these "exclusive features" even possible?
All (well, not all but almost...) features that you see on Pixel Devices "SystemUI module" were reverse engineered from Evolution X ROM source code. The source code is available on the link bellow shown on the credits. This means that I've been practicing some hard core "old school" Android smali edition in order to get this working. So, yes, I have some credits about this but, if it weren't for the original developers and it's public source code, none of this would be possible. Thank them for this!
Smali, and xml, edition wasn't enough to get this working. After decompiling, changing/adapt the code and recompiling everything again, I had to find a way to make it bootable without messing with the original apk signature. And here is where VR Theme logic came in handy. So thanks for the original dev who brought us this feature.
As for ROM Control app....this was/is a project created by daxgirl and wubydax back in 2015! So yeah, I'm not bringing anything new here, I just followed their instructions in order to get the features working after editing smali/xml with the source code taken from Evolution X. The original app source code is also available on the link shared on the credits.
I've just combined all of the above into a Magisk Module and shared here so that we can get the best of both worlds....a stock ROM with custom features included.

OP has been updated!
New "exclusive features" added:
"Disco Dingo the QS" (just a funny name for the option to apply random colors on QS toggles)
Lock Screen Camera Shortcut (enable/disable)
Status bar reduce height (and option to correct left padding on devices with the notch on the left)
Status bar quick QS pulldown (Never, Right pulldown, Left pulldown, Always)
Hope you may enjoy these new features.
Remember, these features needs both "Addon features V10" and "SystemUI V5" modules to be flashed.
Cheers!
OP has been updated!
New "exclusive features" added:
Status bar reduce height options (Default, Small, Medium)
Lock Screen Fluid Custom Clock
Hope you may enjoy these new features.
Remember, these features needs both "Addon features V11" and "SystemUI V6" modules to be flashed.
Cheers!
OP has been updated!
New "exclusive features" added:
Bring back status bar footer drag handle (and it's options | Default; Accent based; Hidden)
Added option to completely remove the nav bar (it gets removed on any navigation mode but stock gestures will continue to work)
Center clock position fix option (it's needed for devices with a left notch using default status bar height)
Added Switch styles
Hope you may enjoy these new features.
Remember, these features needs both "Addon features V12" and "SystemUI V7" modules to be flashed.
Notes:
The "center clock position fix" is somewhat related to the status bar height and "fix left side padding" options. You may encounter a few weird behaviors if you try to enable/disable/change those 3 features several times on Rom Control. I ran into a weird situation when testing all possible combo options....at the end I choose default status bar height and left clock. To my surprise, the clock ended up behind the notch...WTF!? So, if that, by any chance, happens to you, just try to set on/off all to default values, close ROM Control, open it again and choose your desired combo.
The "completely remove navigation bar" option has a warning dialog. I've added a "warning" so that people read it and understand what that option does. Since the text is somewhat long, I've added a timer that only enables the overlay, that removes the nav bar, after 10 secs (so that people have time to read the warning). And so, if you see the warning and just decide to immediately touch OK, you'll notice that the nav bar will only disappear after 10 secs... Having this said, the first a**hole that comes here stating something like "hey man I touch the remove nav bar option and it doesn't disappear...wtf!?...plzzz, halp. I've tried to enable disable several times...it dasn't wark!!!"... will be rewarded with a very nice "F**K *ff!" answer.
Cheers!
Hello!
SystemUI MOD V7 is compatible with April update, I'm using it already and it's working ok.
Tested it on sunfish (Pixel 4a) but I think it's the same for all models.
Thought you'd like to know.
Cheers!
I'm getting no mirrors found for your `Android_11_Addon_Features_For_Pixel_V12.zip` link.
Edit: Apparently it's everything on androidfilehost
Edit: Now Fixed
Hi Typhus,
Can I use this mod on AOSP , Pixel experience,or los based ROMs?
I'm very curious to try out all the theming features you've provided. But I wanted to know if it works.
Thanks

It should work, yes.
But do not install Addon features V12 + SystemUI V7. For other ROMs, rather then stock, you can only use Addon features V8.
Cheers!
This is just brilliant. Like GravityBox, but without the need for Riru/Xposed etc.
Thanks so much for sharing.
Don't know if you take feature requests, but any chance you can add an option to move the network traffic indicators to the left?
It's all a bit busy with the Bluetooth and vibration indicators.
That's odd. It shouldn't really happen since it should fit along side all other icons no matter what.
Have you tried to restart SystemUI just to check if it still overlaps? Or maybe change the traffic indicator options just to check if it gets positioned correctly?
Either way, unfortunately I can't do much about it since, as I've explained on the OP, I've just "ported" the features source code into SystemUI smali files and xml. The padding to all other icons should be automatically set, at least at my end it is. If it's not at your end, I can't fix it since, to do it, I would have to code in smali...and that's just not...well... possible. It's not impossible, my tiny little brain just can't do it, sorry.
Cheers!

It's because of the massive notch on this phone.
Thanks anyway, still a great piece of work!
EDIT: I believe this issue of my problem was unrelated as I am still seeing it with the modules uninstalled. I think it was just a coincidence I saw it around the same time. I suspect my actual problem is my battery undervolting at low charge or something along those lines since most of the time I've noticed it lately my battery is low. I'll probably reinstall this pack soon.
Unfortunately I had to uninstall this wonderful mod.
On my Pixel 3 XL running the latest April 2021 update I followed the directions and installed v12 with the systemui v7.
Occasionally, maybe a couple times a day, my display would freeze up. The rest of the phone continues running (I can hold power and get the rumble for the power menu) but I can't see what I'm doing so I have to try and reboot.
I can connect to adb shell but some commands such as reboot (and later I would find magisk --remove-modules) result in the terminal hanging. Not all commands did though. Killing systemui process to forceit to restart did not fix the problem. I tried adb reboot outside of adb shell and that also hung.
Tried the scrcpy desktop app for remote viewing of my phone and it hung as well (probably using adb to start its server on the phone).
Only a hard reboot with the power button worked to get me out of this state.
This only happened occasionally. No rhyme or reason to it, sometimes I was using my phone, sometimes it happened when my phone was sleeping, first time it happened in the customization app when trying to view the list of lockscreen phone options, most other times it happened when the phone is sleeping displaying the lock screen clock with ambient display.
However today it started causing this problem within seconds of finishing booting, every time. Nothing should have changed so I don't know why it's doing this now. I had to use magisk --remove-modules during boot to get my phone into a usable state, so unfortunately I am unable to collect any further information, especially since this is my daily driver.
Only other modules I had installed were to add command line tools (nano, sqlite, busybox, ssh, adb/fasboot).
One other thing I noticed is adding this module did not seem to cause SafetyNet to pass either test. However games that I know use SafetyNet such as Pokemon Go still worked, though Pokemon Go did ask me to log in through Google again so I suspect something is not working properly with the SafetyNet bypass.
After uninstalling the modules I see the same exact behavior from Pokemon Go though, including not being kicked for failing SafetyNet. So not sure if the SafetyNet fix was even working for me at all.
Also a side comment, when I was messing with alternate lockscreen clocks, I noticed it was using an ugly olive accent color instead of my chosen system accent color of purple. Could be something wrong there, maybe.
Only other weird thing I'm using is LiveBoot to have a cool boot sequence. Not sure if that would conflict since it shouldn't be touching anything your modules do. At the moment I'm not using Riru or Xposed or Gravitybox or anything like that.
I will probably try reapplying the module without the systemui bit later. Which is unfortunately since I really like the customization options. If you push out an update with fixes though I'll probably give it a try.
Well, that's an odd behavior. Logcats would be useful to try to check what could have gone wrong.
Most likely some other stuff could be causing conflicts with the MOD since I'm pretty sure the MOD itself doesn't cause that type of behavior.
If you're willing to give a new go to this MOD I suggest you to just clean install latest official build, root it, and just flash V12 + V7. If that behavior still occurs, then please try to get a logcat so I may try and check what could be causing it.
Cheers!
-EDIT-
Regarding the "accent" color on lock screen clock, that accent color is not based on the accent you choose system wide. Instead it's "calculated" on the code to be one that gets an accent based on the main color your lockscreen wallpaper. It is not the wallpaper main color (if it was and if you choose a solid color as wallpaper, you would simply not see it) but it's based on it and it results on a completely different color to, indeed, be different, thus "accented".
Hey dudes I like what you've done but I would really like to ask for 3 things.
1. Please please please make mod so that on the lockscreen, the top pull down menu can be disabled completely. It is such a bad security breach having that enabled all the time there and I know you can help here.
2. Please allow re sizing of the bottom nav bar to small
3. There is a black shading over the top pull down drawer that isn't there on stock which makes it look ugly

This issue is caused by an error in F2FS, not really related to this mod but the systemless hosts module.
Until Google update the kernel you'll come across it randomly with various different Magisk modules.
The solution is to use a kernel that includes the fix... Which is pretty much any kernel listed on xda. I use Kirisakura, but don't use any of the many options it provides. Literally only flashed it to use the F2FS fix.
Urgh. This redesign of xda is such a pain to use on the app... Total mess.
Sorry for the weird double quote above. I tried editing and it got worse!
The current SystemUI V7 module isn't compatible with May update.
The phone boots but SystemUI just gets FC.
I'll have to fix the module and upload a new version.
Please be patient.
Cheers!
Hello!
SystemUI V8 module has been added on the OP.
It's already working with May build update.
Please do not get confused with "Addon features V8", it's SYSTEMUI V8!
Cheers and enjoy!
Hi. Cool mods. I'm using it on both my Pixel 5 and Pixel 3XL.
Just 1 tiny issue. On both phone, I change the clock settings at the lockscreen to be using the "Text" one.
On my Pixel 5, the text "It's" is in red color fine like normally we would see on OnePlus phone, but on my Pixel 3XL, the "It's" red is like brownish red. I wonder why
