Anyone finds HTC ONE V's web browsering to be quite choppy? - HTC One V

I've tried different browsers, the stock one, Chrome, FireFox, Opera Mini, Dolphin mini and Boat browser,
all of them seem to be quite choppy except Opera Mini which is using different kind of rendering method,
but too bad the mobile sites are ass ugly in Opera Mini and you can't change it's user agent.
I've heard that the web browsers in ICS are improved a lot, so is it just me or is it a common problem? I want to know which one are you guys using too.
Also, I found that the keyboard to be quite unresponsive, after it pops up you need to wait for 1 or 2 seconds to actually able to type, how do I fix this problem?

Yes, I am facing that problem too.
I have no clue why that is so.
Try using Dolphin Browser, it might solve some problems!

Yeah when I had the One, browsing wasn't as pleasant of an experienced. The keywords input was laggy and it just wouldn't work as good as it should. That's one area where I thought the One V fell behind..

Working fine for me
Browsing is working fine for me in default browser, except that it can not open more than 3 tabs at a given time.

BTW, running Browsermark I get the following results:
Stock browser: 40,653
Dolphin HD: 44,018
Chrome Beta: 74,228!!!!
I didn't believe it at first so I repeated the test and got the same result. When you watch the test you can really see the difference.
I can't wait until Google works out the bugs in Chrome and it becomes more stable. It's going to be the browser to beat.

Why wouldn't Opera Mini work?
There are two browsers: Opera Mobile web browser and Opera Mini web browser. I think Opera MINI SHOULD WORK.

im using Dolphin HD, best browse for android, im prefer default browser in original ICS, its simple and truly fast

how do I stay logged in at XDA

I use dozens and dozens of forums across the interwebs, and yet I can't seem to stay logged in at XDA and do on every other forum I use. Every time I leave and come back, I have to log in... it gets real real annoying. Am I missing some setting, or is that just the way it is here?

I use opera web browser and manage to always stay logged on on xda whilst on my PC.. The thing is, I auto saved my password/username upon the first entering and also I never log off the forums account. Does the trick.

Yes but as far as I recall last time I checked it doesn't allow you to create a master password which is a bad lack or security imo.
Firefox is much better.
I don't see this problem, All what I'm dong is to check the "Remember Me" box, and it does it all.

Mozilla Firefox xD
If you use LastPass, you can make a master password and set sites to automagically log you in. This doesn't work on all sites, and some sites will fight LastPass over login protocols, so it's kind of a trial and error thing to get it to gel right with your online experience. Facebook for example works well. Bookmark the root site (Facebook.com) and set it to auto login. It just works. And it works in all the major browsers, even little ole Chrome.
I prefer Firefox... well, Pale Moon... well, Pale Moon Portable, haha. Same difference. Between Adblock Plus, NoScript, and Cookie Whitelist With Buttons (silly name, don't laugh, it does good) and a search box, Chrome just can't keep up. I've been fortunate enough to have avoided the memory leaks that Chrome users say made them switch, and Pale Moon is plenty fast enough for me. I could run Windows 2000 if all I cared about was speed. You start adding features, it slows down a hair, it's a fair trade.
Anyway, I've checked "Remember Me" when I log in, and it still likes to log me out after ~5 minutes of inactivity. Cookies are fine but I'm only accepting first-party cookies (i.e. from xda-developers.com while I'm here). NoScript is blocking a script from netshelter.net. It's allowing them from google-analytics.com, googleapis.com, and of course xda-developers.com.

[Q] Dolphin Browser HD battery drain

Does anyone here use Dolphin HD?
I hate the stock browser because it doesn't give access to the notification bar so i installed Dolphin HD. Is it just me or is this app causing really really bad battery drain. It seems whenever i use the browser the battery continues to drop ever minute or two. Is this something normal you see on the stock browser? Or is it just related to Dolphin.
This is on wi-fi btw.
Thanks for reading
I cant say ive ever noticed a drop in power when using dolphin.
What percentage battery usage do you see for Dolphin when you go to:
Settings > Power > Battery Use
FaZe
p.s. give Chrome beta a try, its rather good.
I just checked on my HOX and the Dolphin browser had used quite abit of the battery (27%). I doesn't seem like a drainage, but it's alot.
I'll try and keep an eye on it the next couple of days.
@ListentoChaos: I found Chrome Beta pretty buggy. A lot of the times, the bookmarks didn't appear when I went to the bookmarks tab/bar.
A bit OT, on dolphin version 8.0, I noticed the tab switcher on the right side when you swipe is gone. Where the heck it is now? I like that tab switcher.
Sent either from my Arc or One X using xda premium
Yep usage is only around 30% atm, but i've been doing other things today. I've seen it as high as 40% before. But its the highest out of pretty much everything excluding screen etc...
I use dolphin because its the best IMO. Plus it has flash unlike chrome.
I just see the battery decrease more whenever I use dolphin compared to other apps
Noticed temperature and battery usage was a lot higher with Dolphin HD than the Default browser.
On dolphin I had a temp of 45 degrees, when I switched to the default bowser it went down to 36 degrees after a few minutes.
I switch to Dolphin from day one I got my HOX. I didn't notice there is a battery drain, maybe I will try to compare with stock and Chrome.
BTW, Chrome is quite buggy, and it scrolls obviously slower than stock or Dolphin, and so I uninstalled it.
Ive been having serious battery drain problems on this browser for quite some time now. Luckly I have 3 batteries I rotate so because it is by far the best browser I just put up with thebattery drain. Ive asked about it on various forums including here but so far have had no joy in fixing the problem.
Here are the stats I get.

I'd be so greatfull if someone found a solution to this problem.
EDIT: I found this thread by googling "dolphin hd battery drain". I now realise this is a htc one x forum. Im on Sgs2, sorry although I leave this post be for now to see if we can find a common solution.
I encounter the same problem, charging overnight, when I use it for web browsing this morning for 15 mins, battery drop from 100 to 86. Tunny browser (don't know why not showing dolphin) used as much as the screen!
Sent from my HTC One X using XDA
Yep, I think its dolphin browser. The stock one doesn't drain battery as much. Shame as I love dolphin and how it shows the notification bar at all times.
Does anyone know how to get the stock browser to show the notification bar? Or if there is any other browser similar to dolphin and wont cause battery drain.
Thanks
You are correct. I've had this problem for a couple of months lol. It's Dolphin HD and the way it handles JavaScript. There are two things you can do to help.
1. Menu> More> Settings> Web Content> Flash Player>On Demand
2. If you don't need JavaScript:
Menu > More > Settings > Web Content > Enable JavaScript> OFF
I personally have just moved to Firefox until they get it fixed. Those settings do help a lot though. It's just too random for my daily use phone.

Still stuck on the stock browser, but I´m not liking it very much. Was thinking of trying out the Firefox browser since I´m running it for many years on all my computers. But at the same time I like to keep things light and not install something I don´t really need.
Anyone got any experience with Firefox on the phone?
Stock for me. Before used Opera. Tried Chrome and didnt like it at all
Only Opera.
Because
1) I like controls (back, tabs etc.) on the bottom of the screen. Stock browser requires a very long thumb to access address bar.
2) I like the starter page with thumbs of my bookmarks.
3) Switching between tabs is much faster with Opera (because it's at the bottom).
4) etc.
I wish Opera was a bit faster. But can't complain about the speed when it's so convenient to use (comparing to stock browser or dolphin).

I like it myself but as I don't have any problems with Google Chrome on my phone. I think the biggest thing that will keep me as a chrome user on my android phone would be the syncing between my desktop, laptop and mobile device. And now the chrome has a bad text rendering making the text so unsharp, then Opera beta is absolutly my choice until Google fixes chrome.

Like reskinned chrome without tab swipe, or other device sync. So not really similar at all lol.
I guess it's ok. Nothing of interest to me though. It's just a regular old style browser with no features that seem useful.
Angel browser seems most interesting to me but it's pretty buggy and no dev support... And no other device sync... Man that's a good feature.

Well to be fair it is in beta. The feature that opera advertises to put them out of the crowd would be off the road feature.
We all think it's chrome because it uses webkit which is what chrome uses. And chrome is the leader of webkit in terms of putting it out there on the map.
Mozilla uses gecko and the old opera browser uses trident.
I'd say it's a pretty successful beta 1 and looking forward to see what else they have to put out there.

Presto.
Pretty much using it as my daily driver with no issues. Which is more then Chrome was able to do on its first "stable" release.
All the features I need are there and work. And if its little data saver counter is correct then it is certainly friendly on a mobile network like old opera mini.
