Heyy Can Someone Help .. Everytime ii Download Something From The Market It Downloads But When Installing It Reboots The Phone, This Happens Everytime
Its Aa Great Rom But Cant Cope With This Fault

You need to make a partition on your SD card.
Read how to do it here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=25587346&postcount=53

Swap Size?
Do Uu Know What Sizee Thats Meant To Be?
Thankss

....
ii Clicked On 126 On The Swap Sizee And It Still Hasnt Fixed It??
Still Reboots When Installing Anything

....
Sinse ii Havee Partitioned The SD Then Flashed The Rom
It Now Says When Trying To Download ..
"Unable To Download 921"

you need to select 0 swap size.

...
ii Will Try That Now Thankss

....
Noo That Still Hasnt Worked

go to CWM recovery>advanced>select size for partition(512mb should be enough)>select 0 swap size.
now wipe data/cache and then install your rom again and check,it should be working fine.

I might be wrong but check that resetting any sizes doesn't give you an extra partition, you might be creating multiple partitions by doing this?
Also if you have used custom mtds then you might need to increase the sizes from previous values due to this rom being larger!!
I had no problems using mtds 240 40
SD ext 256mb 0 swap.

I dont think resetting sizes would give you multiple partitions, because every time you create a partition, the SD card gets formatted and that must remove the previous partition.

Very good rom

you made it faster by adding yet another script tweak to go with the handful of them already in this rom!! I think you are seeing the placebo effect of these tweaks,I removed all the scripts and tweaks and modded a few things manually and it ran just as fast for me afterwards.

hi,now because you are "new to this" is the reason I am not going to guide you, your probably best just using "as they come" roms until you get used to experimenting. that's all it is... just experimenting by removing/adding etc etc, reading up in all threads, trying this, trying that if I just come in and tell you what I did then you don't learn anything and my tweaks might not be to you or others liking. just make sure you do your nandroid backups prior to changing anything and that way you can fall back to a working rom if you go wrong. regards slym.

[Q] Rcmix sense 3.5 kernel and radio?

Since I can't post in the developer section yet i'm asking here, hope it's ok. Been looking at the ROM for a few mins and it looks great, but i've been using MIUI for so long my flashing skills are kind of rusty.
First of all, the kernel is included in the ROM and is the one the developer recommends or have developed right?
And secondly, wich radio is recommended for the ROM? Could'nt find any answer to that in the first post dedicated to the ROM. Should i flash radio before or after i flash the ROM?
Again hope you don't mind me posting this stupid question here and thank you in advance for your answers.
Oh and btw does HTC Watch work with these ROMs? Living in Sweden if it matters.

Radio is your personal choice... just pick the one which works best for you. Flash the rom and yes the kernel is included in the rom.

follow my signature for trouble free flash and welcome to rcmix3d 1.5... best rom out there and if the htc watch service is available in your country then yes it will work.
Transferring the ROM, Supercharger, full wipe 1.5 ext4, and the overclock thing right now, hopefully I'll have it done with the titanium backed up apps installed as well. Your signature actually helped alot.

you are welcome just remember while using titanium backup DO NOT restore system apps and ONLY restore user apps without data.. even better if you have not started already just make a folder in the root of your sdcard\RCTeam\app.user and copy all your user apps from data\app folder to sdcard\RCTeam\app.user and let the rom install your apps automatically.
Restoring data was the reason i bought titanium backup
I'll just restore the apps i had then with market links. The ROM is really fast btw, the eyecandy isn't too bad either.

Actually it seems that the script killersloth linked is the problem as the phone froze again before i even entered my SIM Pin, I'll just flash the restore thing before it freezes the next time.
And Wavesecure is actually really good, I can lock and locate and wipe the phone with simple text messages, though I never use any kind of AV apps.

I would just go with a standard Rom flash set it up as my liking then do a nand backup only then I will start playing with oc\uv and fine tuning the rom to my liking... it has saved me a lot of problems faced by many users. just my way of doing things. after every success mod I do a nand backup incase my next mod messes up something I have a backup to come back to saves a lot of time and hassle. IMHO I can't say any thing about killersloth's script coz I have not used it.
NAND backups takes ages xD
However the phone is working as it should now, all thats left is a nice theme, anyone?
I won't be playing around with voltages and speeds on the CPU, default is just fine.

Nope getting it aswell, I'll try the one you are using.
I can't log in to Facebook using friend stream when I want to put on my lockscreen, just says wrong username or password although I know it's not.
Can I use any of the ROMs listed in the OUT kitchen or do I have to upload my own files as the ones for this specific ROM aren't available.

your best bet is to upload the files from your phone or the downloaded rom, in the uot kitchen.. the fc problem in the glass theme is a known issue you overcome it by disabling the sound effects in the weather app
OK, thanks for the fc fix.
Only thing bothering me with the theme is the transparency in the status bar, replacing it and the battery, + a new font. Then I'm happy until I find something fancier

Q Problem with APN

So, i found a litle problem in the slimbean rom 3.0.1 for W is the fact i cannot save a APN manually, i would post in the original tread but is impossible because i am not a "posting" guy and the developer area is restrict...
thx, hope be in ths rigth place
sorry the poor english
ive never used JB so idk if im helping or not but i hope these 2 steps solve ur problem
1st if ur using market unlocker then restore ur original market then try adding ur apn
2nd make sure u choose options, save , before u press back or ur apn won't be saved
another thing , if ur familier on how to play with files in the zips of roms then u can get the list of global apns from any other rom that has it
the 2 and the 3 i had done already but is not saving on SlimBean 3.0.1 by camcory...
i come back to cm9 that i had here on the computer...
by a JB rom this one had been very well and i would like to try
i also used with the kernel from castgan 7.0 and the gapps from ICS do you think this is the problem
i had try the 2 and the 3, by the first i didnt understand what you are meaning with
i had with the slimbean 3.0.1 from camcory, instal the castgan kernel7.0 and the gapps from ICS...
think you this was the mistake?
-if ur using slimbean then u must use a JB kernel (like JB yoon or forfivo) and JB Gapps
-if ur using cm9 then u must use an ICS kernel (like ICS Yoon or castagnal) and ICS Gapps
-market unlocker is an app that lets u open playstore of other countries, if ur using any app like it or any app that changes ur current network code then revert to ur original code and disable the app till u build ur apn then enable it again
-make sure u fill all the fields correctly cuz it may be the reason it doesn't wanna b saved
-if u can request the apn details from ur mobile service provider then it will be better for u

this is enough for me my friend, i will research about the kernel from JB then i make a update(heard is not really ready) and the castgan never ldesapointed me , i am not one of the crazy to have one or two more numbers in the "about phone"

just knowing that sm1 appreciates my comments is great
my advice for you is to use CM9 and use one of yoon kernels (ask me if u can't choose which one and ill explain them to u) , and also use seeder_V7.zip
ull go super fast and ur battery won't get drained as much as it happens with stock roms (and for sure ull get the APN working )
man i have castgan 7.0, i try this one first he makes a so big diference on my phone i never try another one, not even the new one...
so what do you have in favor the yoon?
and what means servers.zip?
would be better we finish inbox instead of floodin the topic?
yoon is already based on castagn, seeder is smthn that will speed up ur phone , ok pm me at inbox

ARC S creating partition + moving apps

hi,
i have successfully rooted my ARC S phone & installed Super Jelly Bean by Harsh586 (thanks to him). i would like to know how do i increase the size of the 400mb internal memory (i have 16gb micro sd high speed card inside my phone). also do i need to install ClockworkMod Recovery since i already have fusion 5.4 installed ?
last question can i install themes from google play because i'm not really big fan of the stock jelly bean theme.
for themes i think you can use a launcher that support themes like go launcher... just search in play store...
for internal memory http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2162233&highlight=swap
use the search of the forum and you will get all your answers..

is really easy to make a partition work, but you have to see if your kernel and rom supports it!
just follow the threads that i have mentioned above and it will be alright..
i never tried jelly bean roms, only ultimate hd and i think that in overall its a very nice rom, fast, stable, good for games, good camera, and supports partitions...

[Q] Two Quick questions

Hello ,
My last ROM problem was solved and I know have CM9 ROM .
But I noticed that the files on my sd card are still there ,and I want a Clean start .
I am used that they are deleted whenever I made a ( Reset to factory settings ) as I was making always before thinking to Root and make Custom ROM ,
I just wanted to know what would happen if I Made a ( Reset to factory settings ) from the settings menu ,
ofcourse I know my backup that I have on the internal card will be deleted but :
Will I lose the Root ?
Will I lose the Custom ROM and go back to the original ROM ?
The second question is , I heard before that I can share some space from my external sdcard to my internal sd card , is that really possible by any method ?
Sorry for long topic .
Any one ?
Search on the W forum for a thread by @pepoluan about 'pristine' wiping your phone....it will help you achieve the 'fresh start' that you want....and yes, unless you move your nandroid to alternative storage, you will probably lose it.
And as far as I remember, CM9 has the option to swap storage mounts which will allow you to use your external micro SD card as phone storage......
Find it by......
Menu>>settings>>storage>>menu>>advanced....
and then 'tick' the box against (something like) 'use SD card as phone storage' (it's been a while so I can't remember the exact wording)......

Thank you very much keithross39 and dec0der ,
I have resetted my phone without any problems at all ,
I just have another newbie question please
I see people talking about ROMs saying for example : CM9 EOL Honeyx Kernel
I don't inderstand anything in this except CM9 , But what is EOL , and what is Honeyx Kernel ?
I downloaded my CM9 version from the official thread here
I know it is written EOL in the Title of the official thread but I don't know what it mean ? and what is the Kernel ? and what name of the kernel I use ?
EOL as far as I know simply means end of line....which means the final release or no further development.... and the kernel is just something you flash on top of the ROM which allows greater control of things like processor speed, voltage etc. Flashing a kernel *can* have it's advantages, but it is not something you *have* to do......

Yes thanks I get it .
But from your experience is flashing kernel is as risky as flashing ROMs ,and do I have to also swap my files when installing it , and if I have a CM 9 . Can I flash any kernel with the name CM9 on it and not CM10 right ?( I am sorry but indeed I was very scared to flash ROM because of the too much talk about bricking the phone ) .
When you modify your phone there's *always* going to be an element of risk.....whether that risk is higher when flashing a kernel or not, I don't know......I've always stayed with the kernel that comes with my chosen ROM. To answer another question, yes you have to use a kernel that is compatible with your ROMs OS version. As for the storage mount swap, I'm fairly certain that this is ROM controlled as opposed to kernel controlled, so you should be OK....

Thanks keithross ,
So I think I am fine with just the CM9 and no need for other kernel ( at least for now ) .
Yeah.....you can always try a kernel another time....but do yourself a favor..... read as much as you can about every kernel you are considering before you flash it.....in the same way that every ROM is different, every kernel will be different and bring different tweaks to your phone.......

First of all it´s nice to see there are still such smart noobs like you who are posting their questions in the correct section. For this you deserve a 1+
About the rest it´s like keithross already said. First become familiar with your fevorite ROM. There is still time to test all the kernels out.
All the custom kernels are supposed to incrase battery life but also have some other tweaks included. Most of them are very similar because they are using a lot of the exact same tweaks like for example the ones for battery. However there are always some differences like the amount of added tweaks.
This is because all the Developers do have slightly different priorities to what is important to tweak. Some devs are more conservative and just adding the tweaks that are really important in his opinion and are also known to work properly with all devices whereas other devs are more openminded to add some new tweaks.
However this doesn´t mean some of them are better and some of them are worse. It´s just like that. One and the same kernel can work very good on one SGW whereas it may cause some problems on a secound SGW due to the included tweaks. Therefore it´s also good to have such a wide-spread variety of custom kernels, so everyone can find out which of them works best on his device.
People should start using Google.
Go to this URL and press 'Ctrl+F' or menu button then find on phones.
Type Kernel and discover things you never knew. As keithross said, research on these kind of stuff before you flash em.
I honestly learnt mine from here but you are free to use Google.
If you use the second link, ignore any talk about sbf. Its Motorola related.
Special thanks for all of you keithross , honeyx , and idelta ...
I think I have been very familial with the CM9 and I will be reading about your kernel honeyx very soon , I want to try it first one
Thanks again
