Moved to Tmobile - Samsung Epic 4G Touch

Got an HTC Sensation with ICS on it. Only thing thats slacking the front camera but it feels like im holding a One S. Just glad to be off Sprints uber-slow network and I'm only paying $30 a month using VoIP and Google Voice.

and this relates to the et4g HOW??

Yea no doubt this has nothing to to with ET4G! And how do you Talk S*&t on Sprint network for T-slowbile and their horrible network and throtleing, and the sensation is a decent phone but no where near what the Touch is! LMFAO T-slowbile hahaha horrible
Again as always these are my opinions not those of Sprints

Ok i gotta add my two cents. Are you a freaking idiot? I came from tmobile to sprint 9 months ago. and sprint is byfar sooooooooooooooooo Superior to Tmobile in every aspect. I hope you enjoy there "4G Network" which is really just 3G on drugs. And also enjoy there data throttling after 2GB of use. And Also enjoy the Slow...sation. With its 768mb of RAM and its Qualcomm S3 Processor and lackluster GPU. You my friend are one smart cookie. Enjoy your downgraded device as well. Lmfao.

john!
i had to press down on the brakes to get my truck to stop!

he is on their prepaid plan which is 5GB data (2g afterwards), unlimited text, and 100 voice minutes.
you cant assume tmobile sucks everywhere, its actually good in some places. such as in chicago. my cousin averages 5-10mbps.
though sprint sucks in chicago (at least most places i go to. average 50-750kbps). wimax is decent but connection isnt reliable and kills the battery.
im actually doing the same thing. im contemplating in switching to their prepaid plan (but still with a sgs2, possibly a note if it comes out). just makes sense for me. much cheaper but i still get faster data speeds. id never go over 5gb as im usually on wifi but when im out and about, i need some sort of good connection.
dont use voice too much and voip might me a solution (gonna try it out for a month before i cancel sprint)
no need to hate on the guy, it is somewhat relevant as he switched from e4gt to another phone.

[Q] 4G question

So I had to call T Mobile to get the unlock code for another one of my phones (giving my slide to the gf) and at the end of the conversation the lady told me they were doing this promo and I would get free 4G for one month.
Now I already have the Android data package - shouldn't I already be getting 4G on my G2 and not have to pay even more to *upgrade* to 4G? Or are they throttling my speeds, which I've never heard of and it would be very upsetting if they were.
My sister got 4g for 5 bucks. But when I was ordering my g2 it said the data plan was like 20 bucks. I don't know why that is

they prob meant the 4G hotspot.. dumb reps haha... just saying because I've never heard of such promo unless they are offering free one month data plan to get users to like the "unlimited" data...?

They are trying to sell you a USB Dongle for 4G for your laptop. They want you to "add a line" of service for it.
Ok, well that makes sense. There's no reason for me to get that service so it's pointless anyway, got wifi tether

I love T-Mobile until I get about 10 miles away from a city center. then my 4g drops off. 20 miles and my 3G drops off. 50 miles and no data at all.
I snowboard a lot and At&t's coverage out in the sticks waaaaaaaay better than TMobile.
I was also in a grandfathered unlimited data everything+ plan that was hard to leave. Only paid $60 a month, for unlimited 4G... But, not being able to use data in rural areas killed it for me.
A friend of mine, who is with Verizon and works for a company that gets 20% off At&t bills, let me use his email to get a discount with At&t... softened the blow a bit.
I will say, if you're in or near a city, T-Mobile rocks and their HSPA+ is just about as fast as At&t's LTE.
That's not bad at all. I checked the coverage map though, and for me Tmobile looked really spotty. I'm on VZW (blech!), but usually the coverage at least is decent. I kept unlimited data, but if that ever goes away, I'll probably be at T-mo's door.
I'm lucky to be in a big market like Chicago, I never lose anything lol when I go to cali and bike or do moto in the Mojave I lose signal, but so does pretty much everyone

I had T-Mobile years ago, long before Smart phones were in. Couldn't stand them. This was circa 2005. Since then...
Well, after seeing all the rave reviews around here for T-Mobile I've been contemplating the jump. Unfortunately every T-Mobile user I've found in person in the area hates them. And after doing a speed test on a 4G phone... it was roughly 1/4th as fast as Verizon's 3G. Until T-Mobile brings some more speed to Rochester, NY... I'm sticking with Big Red.

My new play Nexus running on Straight Talk

Man after being under Sprints thumb for 2 years I am free. I live in a rual area and had to have an airave just to get phone calls. I have full bars now and 5mb dl speed. I know thats slower than some are getting and I bet it's faster closer to town. All I can say is I love it. Anybody thinking about it should make the switch. Plus pure Google is pure awesome.
Good to hear. I am in the process of making the jump to T-mob Monthly 4G from Sprint. Their data service has become so slow (45 kb/s) in my area, that paying "Premium Data" charges is ridiculous. I really like the prepaid business model versus subsidizing the device.
Congrats! I left horrible Verizon for Straight Talk with GSM Nexus. I actually get better service on ST Att than I was getting with Verizon.
I also came from sprint which couldn't even steam pandora.

Best thing I have found with google now if you open it and say S*&T it takes you to the Sprint stocks page. Best laugh I have had in a long time.
Anyone interested in going to Prepaid should checkout the HUGE Prepaid thread here.
I did the same thing. I have had my Nexus for about 2 weeks now using it with Straight Talk sim and I love it. Came from the Rezound.
Called and complained to Verizon twice in 1st 6 months about my service and they let me out without ETF.
Had 3 lines ~$230.00 month for Rezound, iPhone and another dumb phone. Now paying $150.00 for 2 Smart Phones "Nexus and Galaxy Y for my son" and 1 dumb phone "iPhone" for my wife.

Uses Verizon towers for voice & 3G... after 800mb of data he will get a letter from Sprint saying goodbye.. sometimes it can take a few months to receive the letter.

[Q] Switching from ATT Galaxy S III to T-Mobile Galaxy S III (DC Metro)

ATT is screwing me by refusing to carry forward my unlimited data plan to LTE and has repeatedly tried to force me onto a capped plan.
I saw a newspaper ad today (archaic - I know!) saying T-Mo has an unlimited everything plan for this phone for $90 and it's tempting. I'm hoping to sell or swap my existing GS3.
Is there anything I should be aware of?
Also, what is T-mo's take on this plan if I try to tether?
Thanks.
I'm pretty sure you can just swap sims? Tethering has been beaten to death on these forums. I'd take a few minutes to search and ask your questions in those threads if they haven't been covered yet.

I think I already made it clear I anticipated getting a new S3. I know that they aren't fully compatible for 3/4G/LTE.
Re: Tethering. I though this was a new plan - it appears to be as much in the advert.
They block tethering on unlimited data plans but rooted tethering might work. I haven't tried it yet.
Sent from my SGH-T999
They are trying to kill teather with updates. I tried T-Mobile with still having my main line on att. Speeds were either really fast or dead slow. I'd rather just stick with att because it's decently fast wherever I go.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
I just recently re-upped with T-Mobile. They have two types of plans out right now. They have what they call the classic plan and I can't remember what their new plans are called.
Anyway, with the classic plan you get the phone subsidized, but the plan itself is pretty expensive. On the other hand if you get their newer plan, you pay full price for the phone, but the plan itself is dirt cheap (cheapest I can find among the major carriers). While $600 for a phone might seem like a lot, they only require a $200 down payment and since you're starting a new contract you'll probably get $100 or so knocked off. The rest of the price of the phone is spread throughout the first 20 months of your contract.
Applying a little basic finance and assuming you have a decent stock portfolio, I estimated my cost of my Galaxy S3 at around $350 and my monthly fees went down from $230-250 to its current $140-150.
Don't know much about T-Mobile signal in your area, but if you can manage a consistent 3G I'd say it's worth the cost savings.
I would tell you that you will be very happy with t-mobile vs att, I did the switch my self and I couldn't be any happier, my data is very fast and yes it is faster than att and I get 4g 95% of the time in my area, my brother still have att with the s3 and my phone is way faster than his, on a speed test mine gets between 17000-22000 kbs consent vs his the highest he gets is about 5000-8000

Need your opinions...

So right now I have an evo4g lte (not a thing wrong with it). Sprint sent me a white galaxy s3 (refurb) with only 15 total life calls on it and less than an hour of use. It only came with a charger. It was basically sprint saying, hey sorry for a messup try out this phone if you don't like it send it back...or keep it and send back evo.
Questions...
When I got the evo I purchased best buys buyback on the evo. Wouldn't I lose the buyback on the evo ? What's the best deal to not lose money? (got evo on release day)
Why would a refurb have such little use and are refurbs a concern?
My next upgrade is Feb 2014.
I've took a look already of what others said pros and cons are.
Just looking for advice from community to come to a decision
Thanks!
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Stick with the s3 man you won't be disappointed. Night and day difference in quality and performance over your evo.. Buyback plan may switch to the s3 since they sent it to you but I'm not sure. You made money off this deal by them sending you that phone regardless of it being refurb. I've rarely had an issue with any refurbished devices.
Sent from my SCH-I535 using Tapatalk 2
Why is Sprint sending you a reverb when your evo has nothing wrong with it?
Aside from that it's your personal opinion on which one you like more. I can't stand HTC phones so I'm no help.

Wow lucky person lol. I'd stick with the gs3 but I'm biased. My wife's old evo ruined HTC for me.

The S3 is better than the Evo LTE in my opinion. I also can't stand Sense or HTC support. Its not a huge upgrade though. I would talk to Best Buy about how much they would give you etc. But just to be very clear the S3 has better hardware and software and will get upgrades for Android faster and more often.
Sent from my Nexus 7 using Tapatalk 2
Gotcha....
I guess my only concerns now is it appears if the phone is replaced and the buy back isn't attached to the esn then you lose out in the program if I take the galaxy...or keep what I have for another year and figure that I won't be paying out if pocket a whole lot of money for the next greatest thing.
Sent from my EVO using xda premium
Well here's my opinion on the gs3 or evo lte why I got the gs3 was one the fact that I can't stand not being able to switch batterys if needed but other than that they have just about the same specs and I just liked the look of the gs3 better and flip covers they look so cool right haha just wish Samsung made black gs3 for sprint
