I am not a dev!! I am just a noob who knows a lil things.. you can post the probs here

since this thread is open maybe u cud hlp me by telling wat u wud like in a new rom.....like night mode...themes....icons...launchers etc...that may be a bettr way to strt...sinc many hav their own wish ltr we can sort it out ...whch demand is hgh can be portd lol....

to make a rom is difficult. for a starter, I'd like to suggest you to make an installable stock one. after you succes, you can modify the rom as you want. if you have a deodexed rom as a base, you almost doesn't need a kitchen. you can modify the rom directly by extract the zip file. knowledge about apk modifying and linux script is more important if you want to make a good rom.

hmmm i undrstand...so i guess i will take a deodex rom 1st and customise it....u have any suggstions???

well...if you start from stock rom, you can see chamatht post about how to deodex a stock rom. you can use cwm to get the system folder and get started from it. most of available custom rom here are deodexed rom. you can start from any custom rom which suit with your personal reference.
FYI, hybrid has minimalist customization, its the closest one with stock one. chobit have a lot of system tweak inside of it. repencis have good theme and excelent feature called repencis lab. weUI has beautifull UI while creed is known as a rom with beautifull theme. among them creed is difficult to modify since it has different framework. people said that weUI is tend to buggy, so I don't recommend you to start with.

in short words try fiddling with hybrid v4 xD

I haven't checked hybrid v4. but the older one is sure easy to modify. it also relatively small, hybrid v2 is only 85mb. the smallest one among sgy custom rom.

kkk hope i m going in the rght ditectio......i was gonna mess with creeds 3.1 since its super customisd ....i was lookin on basis of customusation...i lll go wid hybrid

moreovr i have the creeds 2.5 and 3.1 rom with me as well as the stock ddlc2 rom....hmm i cant choose ...wat if i go with creeds...i ll customise it more and put themes ...maybe i cud mix it ....having all the gud thngs and assembling it tghthr...i can always try...

since creed's apk's are recompiled with different framework you can't use apk from other rom to creeds. it also applied as reversal. only a few apk in creed are usable in another custom rom.

hmmmm i did lik to knw whch ones....btw i went thrgh all roms and short listd evrythng...mst of thm r common....btw wat does repencis lab do

[RQ]Nice looking ROMs / No bloatware

Hi guys,
I am confused with all those fancy looking ROMs.
You are good in coding, building, cooking but still not sure about themeing...
I have an idea and I wish to ask you to try to make ROMs that way:
1. cook the ROMs in classic look and easy to see and understand (white text on black menu or something) just the basic theming and give an option to update for another look...
2. when you are building sense ROM please make it the way sense look like not with some orange icons or percents with transparent menu upon a light wallpaper where you cant see anything without hardening you eyes.
3. building Cyan is the same, make it stock and give an option to theme it.
4. do not put some extra software in the ROMs, that way you just got where everybody wanna go away from (HTC way) We all want to remove the bloatware with the stock ROMs but stock ROMs instead of giving us basic option to install what we need give us more and diferent other bloatware
========================================
anyway, I am posting this because I am looking on all those Sense3.5 threads. I don't have enough time ATM to build one miself the way I like it to be, so I am searching for stock stable kernel, basic clasic sense3.5 look with sense3.5 functionality, stock icons and stock boot animation and etc. but I couldn't find such. every sense 3.5 rom is moded somehow, why you are using sense3.5 in the ROMs name when you use just few setings from sens and everything else is moded?!?
I do not want to be rude at all!!! you all have my possitive feelings, thats a wonderful forum with more wonderful members...just...please listen to me and when you build please add an option for the members to choose whether to update through a custom recovery the look of the ROM, give us basic look sense, ADW or MIUI ROMs!
Best Regards

Most basic 3.5 for WFS, use UOT Kitchen to change the battery to stock, its clearier than clear
This is a development thread, not a request line. Keep this place uncluttered by posting stuff like this in general, a rom post or a pm.

[Q] Any stable custom ROMs for newbies?

I just wanna know if there are any custom ROMs that are not bugged (I know that even official ROMs have plenty bugs) and can be used for daily usage.
If possible, is there a custom ROM that has/may contain:
1) Non-disturbing bugs. Bugs that doesn't bother and non-severe that may destroy my device.
2) Sleek black UI. Dark colored UI works, too.
3) Newbie-friendly.
Thanks again
try creeds v2 or chobits 1.6,
most if not all custom rom has some issues,
do a trial and error and see for yourself what ROM suits you best
Creeds rom
Creeds Rom 3.2 works great for me.. No bugs so far.. except for the signal icon.. (Something u can live with )
As I have said, I am a newbie. Well, I do know many procedures now, but I don't want to risk it.
@deathnotice01
Chobits 1.6? Is there a problem with 1.8 and 2? I almost flashed those, good thing I am still waiting for a stable one.
@Vikram3392
I need the signal bar. My home isn't the perfect place to get signal, so I look at in order for me to change position in order to get the perfect signal
Thanks anyway.
@All
I want to flash Chobits v2. Is it good to use? I don't plan to use any a2sd and other system related things. I just want a good ROM that fixes a lot of flaws from the stock and a ROM that supports init.d perfectly, as I want to use [email protected]' tweaks.

Chobits v2 is still new. But chobits v1.8 with merruk kernel will certainly satisfy your needs! Stable rom+tweaks!

I thought v2 was an improvement of 1.8. If it is, then new should be better, right?
sir the most stable rom you can get is modified stock ROM, in terms of stability and overall use
custom roms have their pros and cons in terms of speed, memory usage, etc
since you are a beginner try to remove bloatwares and ad some customizations, tweaks, etc..
you can also push apps to ROM to increase a little ur phone memory
the good thing about android is you can personalize based on your taste, so happy modding

You're right....but we need to wait for some more time, till we get lots of good feedback about v2....till then, i consider chobits v1.8 to be better...

Chobits v2, very stable..
If you can live with the dark themes its great
I wish he'd release one without the modded apps though..
most stable, fastest, reliable rom --> modified stock rom. with fine tune and good modification, odexed rom is always faster than deodexed rom.

THE BEST thing is Terma-fast,stable,RAM is about 150,160mb with all apps i use and its bug free believe me.
But UI is not dark

just follow the steps(i'v instal this two times)and it whill be OK.

[Q] ROM question

Hi guys!
Yeah, I know that everybody has his/her favourite rom, but I have a question. May wife has a Galaxy Y, and sometimes it makes weird things, so a I decided, to flash a new rom. (I have SGA, so I know something about flashing Samsung devices... )
What are your suggestions, guys?
I'm looking for a rom that's very close to stock look, very stable, but has good battery handling, and good performance. Is it too much? I hope no. Can you advise something? Maybe there's a modded stock rom, which has custom kernel, system format is ext4, and maybe has som tweak...
I need your help!
Creeds 2.0 is closest to stock, i suppose. But I would advise ChobitsDigitalis V2. Stable and good performance.
Sent from heaven!
Use stock & flash it with Merruk kernel, theme it wit go launcher or any other launcher that suit u (Play Store) & u still can add some tweak or apps to it

Arrrgh.... I (and my wife too) love TouchWiz... Yeah, you could say it's worse, than others, but I like it.
Don't you know which stock or custom roms have hungarian swype? (Okay, custom is easy: install swype beta.)
Maybe I will stick to stock , change kernel, make some UOT- mods, and hope that she'll like it...

Great :good: for hungarian swype im not that sur, but still can Google out some info around the net how to MOD it

Simple way to customise a ROM to be how you like it.

if you are not to bothered for a customised lookj and would just like a stable rom there are some realy good roms on here by devs but i would say if not them then go for the omega series and use omega files to customise with clockwork mod to flash the files you would like to customise if anyone thinks they have a good rom then please comment the name and torrent link for other users to have a play and find what they like. with other roms thats not omega you can use mobile odin and kitchen pro for customiseation.

You should look to get a different base since this is not so common. Also is this the xperia look you are trying to get? There are a few roms in the rom section that has a fully themed xperia look. Check it out.

There are none that i know of. The only thing is to individually look for some of the settings. Like there is 1 for lockscreen and the apps but that's all i know of and i have been on here for a while. While i am a fan of the xperia themes they are not all the great in terms of performance with the phone. The stock or AOSP stuff are usually the best you will get. Some of the xperia mods have been known to cause FC closure on some apps.
The latest firmware also is still not supported properly for mods. As you can see in the rom dev section they are all using older bases. The new rom only came out a few days now soo development for it won't be here yet. I suggest you try back the Chaos HD but ask for detailed instuructions for it.
I am using ultimarom by the way. Very awesome and you should give it a try.
