Sometimes think are so simple ... thanks!
Thank you all devs for your great work!

As useful as this may be, it is really ugly and it is always present on the status bar. CM7 has a setting where you can adjust the brightness just by sliding across the screen. You can activate it in Interface tweaks- Status bar

How do you make a request/suggestion?

So I'd like to submit a feature request for a mod of sorts, not really sure how to describe it...
Kinda like in windows you can make the task bar auto hide when not in focus, is it possible to make the navigation buttons auto-hide, fade to opaque, or have a bold outline with opaque background... to make better use of the screen when in things like browser/reading...

This feature is already implemented in AOKP, GummyNex and Axi0m (hold down power button, toggle nav bar on/off).

This is very close to what I want, but I wanna get something a bit more
is it possible to make the black background of the nav soft key transpartent or opaque so that I can read what is behind the buttons?
Or make it auto hide unless I touch near the bottom... is something like this doable?
for what its worth, Im using gummynex now and its very nice but the nav bar transparency makes the drawing of the icon go away, not make the nav bar background clear/transparent

Notification bar on fullscreen mode

Hey,
Does anybody knows if it's possible showing android's notification bar while using fullscreen mode?
I found this cool app called full!screen.
It allows you to use fullscreen mode and gives you 2 buttons on the bottom corners with adjustable size and transparency, one of them is HOME and the other is BACK, you can slide them and get more options like RECENT APPS or canceling the fullscreen mode...
The only thing that missing here is the notification bar, its a deal breaker for me and I really want to use this fullscreen feature.
If there are any ideas please feel free to shoot
Thanks

I've tested several things with stock and Nova, but no luck. I was surprised the nova action for expand notifications wouldn't work. This isn't with the app you mentioned, though, it is with AOSPA and JDX, both of which have full screen options built in. The custom ROMs that have this feature built in typically allow you to show the notification bar. You could combine a custom ROM that allows removal of nav keys without removing status bar, then use a launcher like Nova to hide the status bar on the home page.

Thanks it sounds like a great idea, I'll try it :good:
p.s. why hiding the status bar on the home page?
Not sure if this is what you want but Smart Statusbar let's you access the notification bar from full screen apps.
Edit: just downloaded full!screen to try it out and it doesn't seem to work with that app.
full screen and keeps status bar
pie navigator
make sure to set up 'pie' controls before setting full screen and rebooting, or you'll be stuck with no way to navigate

I only mentioned that because I wasn't sure if you wanted the status bar or just wanted access to the notifications. I prefer having the status bar so I can easily see the time, battery, notifications, etc., but many prefer to hide the status bar for aesthetic reasons. With Nova, you can hide the status bar but still swipe down to expand notifications.
Use PA. Then go to hybrid properties, and set the Navigation Bar to 0%. This would make the nav bar disappear and trigger pie but with the status bar still at the top

Finally I used "button savior" app and than removed the softkeys by editing BuildProp file using "BuildProp Editor" adding the line: "qemu.hw.mainkeys=1", Reboot and that does it, no softkeys. Thanks for the advice for removing the softkeys :good:
I also prefer the status bar on... when I hide the status bar (using nova) there's no option pulling it back

Thank you for the port.
This rom is working very well. There are a lot of custom settings laid out in a nice and userfriendly layout, very nice! Only problem I found was that *front* facing cam seems to be stuck in some sort of "wide" mode, so my face was really long when in portrait, and more correct in landscape. And why remove "hold back button to force close app" -Solution: Edit hardware keys to holding back button-kill app. As in some other roms, there seems to be an issue when using auto brightness that causes the screen to use anything from seconds to minutes on waking up.
There are some advanced settings that are locked, probably because of our kernel (like changing Gpu freq and vibration). 13mpx cam working, focus works fine. Definitely one of the most well made roms I've seen!
Tested on E975intl
PS. Rom is very very similar to Beanstalk rom posted by ltelg, I've posted basically the same comment there. Carbon has a slightly better layout for the numerous settings IMO.
i wish someone can port this rom for my f180l,
Hi ltelg
You havea lot of good ports, the problem are the updates afterwords!....

He ONLY ports, no updates. He does put out new ports every now and then. But he doesn't post much to xda any more, Here you can find a quite new carbon port
This is a great ROM but have just noticed that the brightness must be set to nearly 100% to be a normal brightness. Is anyone else having to set their brightness so high ? Itdoes drain quite a bit of battery I have noticed.
Cheers, LL13-

White Nav Bar in apps where dark theme chosen?

Am I missing something here? I have various apps installed, such as Fenix, where I am using a darker theme yet the LG Nav bar is still showing as a light colour. I know that in the settings you can change the colour of the Nav Bar but there is no option there to have a dark nav bar to better fit with the apps. Looks silly.
Can't say i am that impressed with this phone as yet although it is early days, some very slow re-loading of apps sometimes, especially InBox email app even though I have asked that awful LG Smart Doctor app to not kill it...grrr...
Any tips/assistance gratefully received
Use nacho notch. It now has the option to keep the navbar dark.
Or get Navbar Apps, which allows you to set automatic or custom colours for any application

I found nacho notch to work more constantly vs navbar apps.

How to change default navbar color to black?

In the settings, by default, there are only light colors for the navbar, which don't fit quite well dark apps like Spotify and Reddit.
Is there a way to set it black?
I already tried:
- LG themes and high contrast mode: they work, but also change the whole UI look.
- Nacho Notch, Navbar Apps and other applications on PlayStore: they don't change only the default color, but the color used everywhere (e.g.: Nacho Notch sets the navbar to be always black, even when it should be transparent, like in the launcher).
- Alpha Substratum theme: it doesn't affect default navbar color (or, at least, I wasn't able to let it do it).
Does anyone know how to do it?
Thanks.
I don't see it either. Apart from another launcher, I think your only option is going to be a dark theme.

Use nacho notch or navbar apps.
Or double tap the left hand dot to hide the Nav Bar in those apps you don't like the look??
I just use System UI Tuner. A few ADB commands for permission for the app to run and all is good. Find it in the Play Store. Instructions are supper easy to follow and you can hide either the nav bar status bar or go full immersive and hide both even on the home screen like I do.

Alpha most certainly has this option. That was one of the first things I did when I added G7 support! You do have to go and manually select black but the option is definitely there
Thanks!

I finally found out how to do it! I needed to "force" the black navigation bar selection in the settings after having built "System UI".
I also quickly followed a fellow XDA members advice on how to enable High Contrast to phone in the settings and makes the phone dark as can be. It solved my Setting Theme to all black and Navigation bar to black as well. Just had to change the wallpaper back but works well.
