Hi Bro... read the instruction again , is not flash through CWM but restore from CWM , extract the 2 files into 1 folder , copy it into your MMC , boot into CWM , chose backup & restore>> restore from external sd .... chose the file that you copy and restore , remember to do all the wipe / reset ( read carefully the instruction ) before restore . hope this help .

Thanks a lot for the reply! Im gonna try as soon as i get home!

extract the 2 zip files into 1 folder, folder name should be clockworkmod , copy the clockworkmod file into your external sd, boot into CWM and select backup & restore >>> restore from external sd and you should see a file >> 20120422... something like that... select it >>> restore and wait until it done and reboot. Dont forget to wipe wipe wipe before restore..

It worked! Thanks!

[Q] Unrevoked and Not updating

Alright guys/gals.My question here is this.Using unvevoked3 and not updating to the new OTA update is okay? I'm still having problems with sync not syncing? Thats cause i have not updated yet. Will my phone be alright without the update even though i want it..I cant seem to update it to my evo.Either no one helps or its not in plain English for some of us that dont have the experience rooting or unrooting.
What do you all think? Anyone in the same boat as me.? They say put the file on your sdcard root file.Where in the hell is that?
**** does happen and im in deep **** without the update.
Ok this should be easy. If u are unrevoked and u are full rooted running a custom Rom then just flash the update. There should be a post with the zip that u can flash in recovery to apply the update. If not then just wait for your custom Rom to be updated to the next version with will be surely base on the latest ota. Like u said it's def.ly not a big deal.
BUT:
If u are running stock or want to remain on a stock Rom just flash the rooted 2.2 base on the new OTA, Can be found here http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=789913
Edit: came across this, should help you also http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=790394

Ok if u have it on your SD then that's easy providing that u got clockwork mod or another custom recovery. Just boot your phone into recovery, I use quickbot. U can also use Rom manager to boot your phone into recovery and also flash a clockwork recovery . Once in recovery just go to flash update from zip, then select the zip(should be the one on your sd) confirm and then reboot. You're done.
Edit:
Putting it on the root of your sd simply means drag and drop it to the main folder on your sd card, where u see all the other files and folder. Just open up your sd card in a browser(double click removing disk from my computer) and also the folder on the computer where u have the file. Then drag and drop it on your sd card. Where u dropping the files is the root of ur sd, hope this helps.

Get to SD root - connect your EVO to your PC through USB and mount it through disk drive from the notification bar then drag your update file onto the SD card, i.e. on my windows laptop, root would be the window "Computer->Removable Disk (G: )
To flash - power off then hold vol down + power button to get into hboot and then select recovery. once there, select flash zip from sd card and select your update file. let it finish and you should be able to reboot into the updated rom.
*quick boot is an app from the market that allows you to easily reboot into recovery for rooted phones

Michael this is an invalid file name. U do not have to rename or alter any thing with the update file. The file is already a zip file so the extension is already a .zip file. Any file that is zip will always be for example 'filename.zip'. you adding a .zip to the file name will make the file unacceptable as there is no .zip.zip file. Just leave the original file you downloaded as is. Once in recovery you can then follow the same steps you mentioned. Go to choose zip from sd card,u will see the zip file on the sd,select it then confirm and install. U should be fine if u follow these steps.

Just for the record... On Windows boxen, the default options for your filemanager,
is: Hide extensions for known filetypes
Translated:
If windows shows the correct icon for the file, it knows what type of file it is, and therefore will hide it's extension - in your case; .zip
Stupid, I know (Windows).
So, when you see the file "Update", and it shows an icon indicating that windows knows it's a .ZIP file. You will know that the filename is actually:
Update.zip - not just "Update" as you see in filemanager.
Bottom line; file has the correct icon in filemanager, it's extension hidden.
File has a generic icon, then file is unknown, and probably shows it's extension.

[Q] Help downloading rom Mac OS

How do i download roms to my droid incredible using macbook pro because i tried to compress the file and that didnt work. Anyone have any ideas?
I'm on a macbook... Why would you compress a rom. It should already be in a .zip. Just mount the phone and drag the .zip to the root directory of your SD card. Reboot into launcher, wipe cache, wipe data and install. Not sure what you are asking but its not hard.

the file cannot be found..
It says no files found.
Plz Help Thank you
Mike
Did you place the zip file on the root of your sd card & not inside a folder?

It don't matter if its in a folder it not.. I always download straight from my phone and leave it in downloads folder.. also can be renamed after the date of a nandroid but make sure to add .stock or .rc4 or whatever.. no spaces and keep the dates, don't know about renaming the whole thing yet.. anyways, your problem seems odd

Put it in the root of your sd card make sure its a .zip and a problem I had waz there was a space at the end of .zip.but make sure that u have downloaded the whole rom I downloaded cm7 for the first time and almost bricked my phone cause I kept trying to flash part of a rom...tip: download file then download through a mirror (if provided) and check size of file.

[Q] Can't load Update.zip

I tried many Roms of CyanogenMod but when the download finished, i couldn't open or extract the zip file ( the archive is either unknown format or damaged, then when i put it into my sd card, recovery said :" Can't open e:/sdcard/...zip. Plz help
You shouldn't need to unzip the package, just download the cyanogenmod you want that's correct for your phone eg buzz and then place on the root if your sdcard. Then enter your recovery and choose that zip file to update but remember to nandroid backup first and to wipe your data + dalvik cache and factory reset the device for a clean install.

Choose install from zip, navigate to the folder with your cm7 in and select it. Make sure you do the 3 wipes first or you'll get a bootloop.

Check your internet connection, and verify the MD5 Sum of the ZIP file you downloaded. It looks like a broken download, looking at your original post.

[Q] Unable to Root Galaxy W using Recovery

I tried to root my Galaxy W but failed using the Rooting via Recovery mode(SD card) method described here
I put the update.zip file on the SDCard by mounting the SDCard on my laptop, running XP, and copying update.zip onto the SDcard.
But, when I reinserted the SDcard and followed the procedure described, the apply sdcard:update.zip in Recovery Menu does not appear.
My phone is
GTI8150
Android 2.3.6
Baseband version I8150XXXKL3
Build no GINGERBREADXXLA2
Can anyone suggest what I am doing wrong?
You have to move the zip into the internal memory of the phone, the one of 1,7GB (in our phone is called /sdcard), not in ur personal sdcard that is called external_sd...then u'll be able to find the zip in recovery
Thank you for the good advice.
I downloaded SwiFTP to the Android and then used FileZilla to FTP the zip file to the /sdcard folder.
Then the process seemed to work OK
Can I root my device:
2.3.6
baseband DXLM2
kernel DXLM3
build number DXLM3
Via stock recovery?
Thanks in advance.
