[Q] AT&T 3G Data not working, can't repair connections - HTC One X

Been having an issue with my unlocked One X lately. Just this morning, my AT&T 3G data completely conked out and will not come back online. I can make phone calls and send texts, but MMS and data are broken. I've tried manually changing the APN settings, but nothing works. Any possible fixes someone knows that actually work?

Have you hit the soft cap on your data plan? If you've been throttled it might feel like you have no data. Are you in a non-HSPA+ market? If so, AT&T's continuing to upgrade the backhaul of their HSPA network so it might have nothing to do with your phone. Their working in my market and I lost data about a week ago. If you have another phone handy see if the SIM works in it. If it doesn't work there it's either your account, the SIM itself, or something to do with the network.

any help will be appreciated.
Data connection problem
If you haven't already tried, go to Settings/Wireless and network/Mobile networks/Access Point Names and if there is an option to reset, select it. I had a similar problem with data connections - up and down lights blinked but no connection - and T-mobile support helped me out. Also, make sure Use packet data and Data roaming are checked.

I've had the problem too, both on 4G and WiFi. There is a warning on the data roaming option about incurring extra charges. Is this true? I know that my plan says free domestic roaming, but I'm not sure that applies to data?
The T-mobile rep allowed that this was confusing. They stated that there are no additional charges within the US. Roaming is required because TM uses other providers' (i.e. Verizon) towers in some locations.
I have this same problem, Im wondering if the update coming out next month for wi-fi calling will address this, or what about using the new sim card??? Its pretty annoying but i didnt want to really exchange my phone b/c this is the only problem im having as well as the vertical lines which i have pretty much learned to live with.

i am using the new sim card already... i dont know if the problem is with new sim card or the phone itself but it gets annoying sometimes when i need internet and it doesnt wanna work.
Has anyone had any luck fixing this?
I noticed this problem sometime after rooting and flashing roms. Now I'm on the stock rom released in the dev channel. I've talked with customer servie for an hour and none of their solutions fixed anything for me.
I don't have a good backup - is there anything I can do?
I haven't been bitten by this again. It has been a couple days and I've since replaced my phone (today). But I haven't been on 4G much. Wifi has been working fine for the last couple days.

[Q] No signal recived.

Hi everyone
Recently my phone started not to be 'able' to recive signal anywhere, however it can still run the data connection, and GPS.
I have no idea what the problem is, i have removed all apps, restored to backup that worked previpusly and even restored my ROM completely. No luck it still says limited signal and just allows data. I am running miui 2.4.3
What can i try to fix it?
Thanks,
T.
Do you have a pin code on your SIM card? In that case did you enter it when you started the phone?
Sent from my Desire HD using xda premium

Make sure that the back cover is on...also if it is on try wiping the antenna (that is there with alcohol)
@Muikkuman No Pin code.
@Glevitan No no luck there either
A t-mobile simcard 'works' as in signal is accepted as received but still no calls or texts or data is usable. Also all calls are forwarded, un changeably on a T-MO card.

Ummm...check that APN's are set ok. That might explain the lack of data connectivity...
I had the same problem as you do. You have 2 possibilities: go to network settings and activate only 2G or you can activate both 2G and 3G activated but you need to activate and data. for me worked, and I hope will work and for you

[Q] Data usage without data connection.

Dear people.
Last year I got an LG Optiumus G for my wife. Since she doesn't use the Internet outside the house, she didn't want an Internetconnection set on her phone.
We checked this: she is unable to get an Internet connection, without the use of wifi.
She uses a sim card, only for calling numbers and sending an SMS every now and then. She uses a pre-paid card.
Since last month, she noticed her money running out, without using the phone. We made a call to T-Mobile (Netherlands) and they told us, that GPS on her phone was causing her money (call minutes) to run out.
My question: how can a phone that has no mobile data settings and needs wifi use her pre-paid call money?
Thanks for your answers,
Regards,
Rob.
Resolved
According to T-Mobile, the datasettings have been reset afer an update and factory reset. Apparently the data connection was set, during one of these operations.
So: problem resolved.
Thanks to the people who have tried to resolve this problem.

No Mobile Data

Hi, its my first post on the Z1C forum.
I just got one yesterday to replace my Nexus 5 and am accounting a few things I need help with since I am new to the xperia line of phones.
So my phone looks like this (for data) however I can't browse anything. I have mobile data enabled, national roaming and preferred network being 4G but nothing is working. With my Nexus 5 my data just worked so I am unsure why this is happening here. I can send texts and make calls just fine. Phone is on lolipop 5.0.2
The wifi signal in my room is terrible and its constantly dropping and when that happens I can't do anything with it.
I am on tesco mobile with a 2GB 4G plan.

Edit: So I looked around I went into mobile network and scanned, found tesco and registered. So I have 3G data now, but 4G isn't registering. Maybe I need to phone up Tesco and ask them.
Or maybe it's just not a 4G mast where you're connecting?
Is problem "no mobile data at all" or "no LTE connection" ?
Can you transfer data on 3G?
If so - check twice if your SIM card is LTE compatible.
I had to adjust the APN on my phone when I first got it as the one it autodetected wasnt correct. Try that out.
Hi so i just got a z1c and this happened to me. I could send and get text/calls even get notifications and updates. I called sony and t-mobile, nether could help me. Then i found a option under "more" in settings to update "Internet settings" find your server and hit ok. Try it out, i hope this helps.
In my case I needed to contact my carrier to enable 4G. Tried it?
Not sent by me.
settings.>>other>>>internet settings>>>download internet and mms settings...
this should do the trick...
Inconsistent Connection
I got my Z1C a few days ago and updated it to Lollipop yesterday. Ever since the update, the phone has been dropping data connection. I don't know what's the initial cause yet but as it stands, in order to get it working again I have to take out the SIM and reinsert it multiple times. I'm watching it carefully tho because it seems to happen whenever I start Candy Crush. Is there anybody else having this experience?

Not connected to Mobile Network after being on Wifi?

This has been a frustrating issue I've been having pretty much since starting up my T-mobile service about a month ago.
To start off, my G3 is unrooted and on the latest stock software version, 20e.
I use Wifi calling often because I get 0-1 bars of reception at work. All seems to work well until I go outside and try to make a phonecall over the voice network. I'll have plenty of signal bars, be connected to 4G even, yet when I try to use the phone dialer to make a call it will say "Not connected to Mobile Network." or something along those lines.
I haven't done extensive testing, but I believe the other day I toggled the "Mobile Data" off then back on and was able to make calls.
Has anyone else had this trouble? Is it something possibly to do with Wifi and/or Wifi calling?
I believe I could make a phonecall using Hangouts when I was off of wifi, which tells me that the data part is working, but not the voice network.
I contacted T-mobile support, but they just had me do the "typical" things, like shut down the phone, remove the battery/SIM, start everything back up. And sure enough, it worked after that, but I'd rather not have to restart my phone or toggle stuff to get it to work as it should without any hassle.
Thanks!
My wife has the same problem after the 20E update. Her mobile is stock as well. It did not happen on 20B.

Off the top of my head no. I'll dig around a bit and see what if anything I come up with.,
From the digging I did I can't seem to find any help. The only thing I can think of is to factory reset it thing and see if it helps. I am going to do do it on my wifes phone tonight.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking too... I'm not really in the mood to deal with restoring all of my apps and whatnot, so I'll hold off on the factory reset for now.
If you remember, could you let me know the results? If I know for fair certainty that a wipe will fix the issue, I might do it.
Thanks!
It's a network problem and it is worst on Samsung phones. I recently went and got a new sim card and it seems to have fixed it. I read it is because if you live in a area where there is poor coverage it causes your sim to where out fast.

This started happening before my first month of T-mobile service was even up with a brand new SIM. I'm not saying that it's definitely not a SIM issue, just would seem unlikely that it's worn out that fast.
Mobile out of Network-Tmobile - Android
I;m having the same issue, turned phone off and on, checked Network connections everything looks fine, but now able to receive and send texts or make calls.
