Dude this concept is awesome. It should be a long work though, and will need a complete framework integration, plus there's gonna be some problematic parts (Perhaps 30% of frameworks/core code should be rewritten to match)... hmm, if you have any progress, or RSS feed, let me know I will suscribe for sure.
Btw, don't show it to OEM's or they will steal it

Good idea, but it will not come into our smartphone soon... maybe in an away future.
EDIT : Maybe you must move this thread to the general section?

Great Idea.
Some features is limited but available on samsung touch wiz phone.
But this is idea is better and need to be incorporated on next HTC phones..

The first screenshot is a mock-up as far as I know...
There is a theory that it will soon support music play from your lockscreen.
But I could be wrong, if you give a link to that shadowline ROM I can do some research because I would like to have it too!

in the meantime you could use S2U2 coupled with S2P that will give you a very similar things more in a iPhone style though

Okay, and if there's anything I don't want on my phone, then it's iphone stuff.
No but those are all third party programs, it would begreat to have it implemented in WM.
I don't like the iPhone neither... still when something is good I don't care where it comes from
S2U2 provides many very good things (that iPhone don't have actually)
- SMS/MMS/EMAIL/MIST CALLS/TASK/APPOINTMENT/ALARM Display and dismiss without unlocking
- 1+ appointments display
- Time and real battery meter (always or when charging)
- weather forecast
- Fullscreen caller ID
- Slide to answer (or not)
- blank screen/lock on talk
- integration/actions on MP3 player S2P without unlock
- system/incall volume control
and that just the basic features...
It is honestly a great tool !!!
Otherwise regarding integrated in WM... I don't know what the MS devs are doing but they better get their fingers out of where they shouldn't be
People are still very cold about getting WM Phones... they even rather by a LG or a Sam-****-sung
Ill have a look and try that program but as some one lse said I don't want my diamond to be abit like the iphone thats why I got it because it#s nothing like it

[REQ] Sense To Do (tasks) list manager

Hy all.
I and probably meni other users are not happy abaut task manager build in Windows Mobile. It's way to hidden!
Task list shoud be visible from home screen. This is the only way I can see what I have to do in comming days.
Sou I made user interface for this app.
It looks like this:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",

}
If enyone has the time and knolage, this could be big thing
wow...amazing work....have u made it?
I just put some Sense graphic's together and this came out.
Now we need some developer's to make the hard part, and that is modifying the Sens files.
I'm hoping Co0kieMonster could taka a look at this.
BUMP....Great idea!!!
looks awesome. I wonder how much of this is covered by ptasks.
A manila tab would definetly be awesome but not neccessary for me
I tried ptasks... and gave up, it was too slow for regular uses..
...maybe you give "mvcal" a try (www.portablepim.de)
hence the website is in german, the software will be english after installation. If you prefer german, you can switch to it in options->languages)
or you download directly from here
It cannot only manage the appointment, it also handles the tasks in a fingerfriendly manner and combines it with appointments.
Very interesting, this is the function that lacks to sense. it would be nice to share it ou explain how to made it.
thanks
bump!!! I like this!!
Marty
Really interested too.
Would love to have something like this.
Its an amazin idea..it mus be not so hard for the great Developers here on Xda..
Plz sum1 mak this possible..after making the Call History tabs this one is next!
bump bump bump
Look at here:
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=659089
Not exactly a new tab, however for sure tasks integrated in Sense
yep, i'm using AHT already, it works..
the thread starters "design" just have more eyecandy... i also looking forward to the day, when a friendly dev will make one

Yep this is just the kind of thing which could be done using the same methods I've used. The whole concept is to remove the difficult sense side and provide a simple way to populate a tab.
If a developer is interested in doing the TodoUtil program (.net side) I can probably provide a shell of the Sense RSSTab which by design is supposed to be generic enough to be populated with any kind of list data.
There are still features I've not yet built into the Sense tab (long press selection, left-hand icon selection, notifications), but as I develop the RSSTab the idea is I can expand what it is able to do.
Even as it currently stands, I don't think there is much that would need to change to get a simple To-Do tab.

[WORK IN PROGRESS] Mahogany - A launcher inspired by stock for CM7 and CM9

Building a launcher from scratch. I put one together in GO Launcher yesterday, but thought it would be too much effort to setup since it'd be a memory hogger, so did my mockups this morning and here's the result:
{
"lightbox_close": "Close",
"lightbox_next": "Next",
"lightbox_previous": "Previous",
"lightbox_error": "The requested content cannot be loaded. Please try again later.",
"lightbox_start_slideshow": "Start slideshow",
"lightbox_stop_slideshow": "Stop slideshow",
"lightbox_full_screen": "Full screen",
"lightbox_thumbnails": "Thumbnails",
"lightbox_download": "Download",
"lightbox_share": "Share",
"lightbox_zoom": "Zoom",
"lightbox_new_window": "New window",
"lightbox_toggle_sidebar": "Toggle sidebar"
}
In the end it'll support all the Gingerbread and ICS variants of the Kindle ROMs. I'm not sure about stock yet, but I'll keep it in mind seeing as this will have none of the issues the stock launcher has. All the book/reference related apps will have book type icons. I'll theme the search bar aswell.
I'm going to work on building it in Eclipse this week.
Quietly awesome.
To my mind, no need to tell, that we all are waiting for it.
great ..........................
Awesome .... like it already
Sent from my Amazon Kindle Fire using xda premium
This is quite interesting really. I'm assuming it would work the same way the stock launcher does, but on CM7/9?
Looks Amazing

Agreed!!!!!
Hmm, seems I need to step up on my launcher project .
Btw if your going to support stock just keep in mind that the wallpapermanager instance is null for some reason (amazon really wants you to keep your mits off it)
So implement your own wallpaper manager if you plan on giving that option seems the only other launcher I saw working on stock dose that (GO launcher).
Also if you need to take a look there is a partial fix for that in my hatching branch https://github.com/neolode/Project-Drake/tree/hatchling0.1
Cheers and good luck can't wait to see your work.
very nice!
wow this looks amazing!...cant wait
Slick! Can't wait to test it out

Just curious... Female Devs seem to be few and far between...
OP, are you going to have a github? Open Source? Lurking on IRC anywhere?
In other words, I'd be very interested in helping.
1. Yes, I am female.
2. I will be putting it on github as soon as I get the base done. Which should be by Saturday for those that really need a ETA.
3. I'm always on the kindlefire-dev channel. Not always at the keyboard, but you can leave me a message.
This looks very cool. Let me know if you need anyone to test, i'd be more than happy.
Nice mockups. You've probably already gotten this far, but in case it helps. I have no idea how to get the list of books or documents, or download items from the cloud.

[APP] Control Center for Android

I just found this on the play store guys and I think it's pretty awesome, this is the only new feature that I loved about iOS7, it's pretty handy IMO. Thought I shared it.
I'm just sharing it, I couldn't find the post where the app was born ( I'm pretty sure was developed here on xda ), but anyways, if you find the maker, thank him, and be sure to leave 5 star to promote development.
Here is what it looks like on my device.

No offence but if I wanted my phone to look like an iPhone then I'd still have my iPhone lol ... I'm sure some people will appreciate this app though, at least if/when they iron out the issues current users seem to experience with it
I actually tried this the other day and I really didn't like it. Its kind of askward since it is right by my app drawer button. So I found myself hitting that instead. Or it would do both.
I much prefer power toggles or something similar in my notification drawer. Not to mention the colors on the center are just plain ugly and don't blend well with anything.
Just my opinion!

I can't get how getting a quick settings alike will make your android look like an android, this is not a theme or whatsoever. Well I just wanted to share it, I'd never use an iPhone that's for sure but control center is way better option than both quick toggles/ quick settings on android IMO.

Curious as I notice you are running a Venom ROM.
If so what benefit does this have over using the Quick Setting in the pulldown, does that not offer even more?
Nevermind, the mod took care of it....
