[Q] How to backup/restore Account information? - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

I've decided to play a bit with ROMs.
I've purchased the Titanium Backup Pro and made a full backup of everything (apps and system data which is shown in green in Ti_Pro).
Including "Accounts". First in the list in this screenshot:
I restored everything to AOKP ROM (m5). But right after the restore I didn't have anything in my Settings -> Accounts. I had to start each restored app (Email, Gmail, Facebook, LinkedIn etc.) manually and enter username/password to get my Contacts synced and to get particular account appear in Accounts.
Just after that I had all the accounts ready.
So...
What I'm doing wrong.
How to get everything in place after migrating between ROMs?
PS: No problems with my Apps and App data. Just the accounts now concern me.
Thanks!

Backup and Restore to new EVO?

What is the best method to backup from an existing Android phone and restore the data (bookmarks, Text Messages, phone log, dictionary, settings, etc.) into the EVO?
I have a G1, so when I apply a new Cyanogen ROM I take a complete backup of all my Apps and Data with MyBackup Pro onto my SD Card. After I've gotten the new ROM applied I download MyBackup Pro from the Market and restore some of my Apps and/or Data back into the phone. I restore the bookmarks, text messages, phone log, dictionary, etc. I don't restore the contact list because it's already synced with Google. Google does a good job of keeping my WiFi settings, so I don't have to re-enter that after a wipe.
Would it be best to do a complete backup as normal, and then transfer the backup folder structure onto the new EVO SD Card and then do a restore as I normally would?
I currently have the TP2 (windows mobile 6.5) so I'm not sure about the text messages, programs, etc... but for your contacts you can use google sync.
Just sign in with your google account, sync all of your contacts, get on the new phone and do the same.
This is what I am going to do since it worked so good when I loaded android on my TP2. I like to do it that way too because I have a google voice account
I used my MyBackup Pro for most of the info that I needed to transfer to the EVO. The only problem is with backing up all of the apps. It will install all of them but it can't transfer the data and market links yet since the Evo isn't rooted yet.

I'm NOT migrating from a Windows Mobile phone to an Android. I'm migrating FROM an Android to another Android. I already said that I don't restore my contact because Google sync takes care of that.

So, it looks like I should just restore as I originally stated in my post using MyBackup Pro. But, you have a very good point that I cannot restore some of my apps since the phone is not rooted yet (WiFi Tether).

[Q] Sms Contact Backup

Hello
So i have finally decided to try out custom roms . But i need a way to migrate my sms, contacts and calender to the new rom without any compatibility issue
i know that google has contact calendar sync but i am guessing their are better ways to migrate all of them including sms at once
is their Any free app that can make this happen
thanks
not exactly sure what you mean by "sms contacts calendar" but here's what I do. My Contacts and Calendar are synced to my google account so as soon as I sign in on a new rom those are automatically synced up. As far as my actual sms messages I use a free app called "SMS Backup" that stores them as xml on the sdcard. So just install the app on the rom and then restore.
Hope that helps.
thanks for the reply and sorry for the confusion, have edited the post . i am looking for an all in one app that can do all the the three task at once. i have seen some backup application but they also backup settings and other things. i think that will create compatibility issue
SMS - "SMS Backup & Restore" from the market
Contacts - People App > Menu > Export > Export To SD Card
Calendar - Sync with Google
My Backup Pro can backup and restore selected items. All you need is to tick the box before SMS, MMS, Contacts and Calendar when performing a backup and then do the same when restoring. I think that would be your one-click app you are looking for.

Titanium backup - Emails and account

Hi Everyone
I am having an issue with Titanium Backup, and would like to know if anyone have had similar problem and would know how to solve that.
TB would not restore my accounts. I have notably Microsoft Exchange ActiveSync accounts for my mails (as they are the only one apparently allowing push emails). I have made backups and restore after a change of rom, and it didn't work out for my accounts.
I read similar issues on forums, where it was advised to do a complete backup and restore.
I made the following test: I used batch, then Backuo all user apps + system Data. I deleted one of my accounts. Then batch restore (I made restore missing appa + all system data, where I selected restore data only). It did not replace the account I deleted.
Can you advise me doing something differently.
Thanks in advance for your help

Still trying to figure this out myself as well, as well as possibly somehow restoring widgets...
Have you tried (from your description it doesn't look like it) backing up apps and system data separately ? Then just restore the data
Hi guys,
Im currently facing the same issue too.
I manage to restore all apps with data including bookmarks. But it doesnt restore the actual Email accounts such as my Yahoo and gmail.
So everytime I flash a new ROM, I have to manually set them up again.
Hopefully there is a way
works for me
Hi guys, did anyone managed to backup and restore it ?
it seems like titanium backup it as when I do a full restore i find it but just can't identify which packages are involved ..
Quite sure that email alone is not enough ..
I'm having the same issue. It's accounts and sync we are after. It's not an option as far as I can tell.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda premium
Hi,
I'm having the same issue.
Just installed Vanilla Root Box 4.2 yesterday on my Galaxy S2 and again I wasn't able to restore correctly my email accounts (both IMAP and EXCHANGE "Corporate").
How I proceeded :
RomNuke
Install Root Box 4.2
Restore Accounts (data)
Restore Email (app + data)
Restore Exchange Services (app + data)
When you explore Accounts TB says it's a DB in /data/system/users/0/accounts.db.
Once I setup my email account, I can see it here.
*A bit sad that Exchange passwords are in plain text here*
So I thought that would be the solution.
But when I restore it, all but email accounts are restored.
Someone has a trick to restore correctly email accounts ?
Thanks
Up.
Unfortunatly never manage to Backup/Restore those email!!
When setting up a new Rom it is very time consumming to have to re-configure them...
If at least it was possible to restore emails + Config, and I will confirme the passwords after that...

Backup configured email accounts in gmail

I was wondering if it's possible to backup your configured email accounts in gmail. Because I'm always busy reconfiguring all email accounts I have in gmail with a clean install. Have tried Titanium Backup and My Backup Root. Maybe I'm doing something wrong or it's just not possible because of security (password and such). Also haven't been able to find much info about this elsewhere.
Nobody?
Want to backup Gmail emails either on Windows OS. Just try this useful Softaken Gmail Backup Software Windows OS. The tool provides different file formats to save resultant files like pst, msg, eml, mbox etc. The demo version is free for user, you need to just download and install on your system. Backup entire data quickly

Looking for apps that can do a full backup and restore on an unrooted phone

I'm new here I'm looking for apps that can do a full backup and restore of all of my apps, contacts, bookmarks and all other data. My Phone is unrooted and for now I want to keep it that way for now. Or a way to return it to Its unrooted condition. I'm new at this. I have read that titanium is good but it has to a rooted phone.
Contacts are backed up to your Google account automatically if you choose Google instead of local for contacts location. Photos are backed up in Google photos. For apps, try helium. Needs a PC. But most apps get data back with a simple login. Bookmarks are stored automatically if you use chrome, and return automatically when you login.
