Removing SIMLOCK - best option? - HTC Wildfire S

Hi, as the title already says, can anybody tell me how to remove the simlock, so that I can use every simcard with my Wildfire S?
thx

Read the stickies before you post. Questions don't go here.
Sent from my HTC-PG762 using Tapatalk 2

Numero Uno........questions in the general section.....
Second......... to remove sim-lock use an XTC-CLIP..... if you don't know, its a hardware used to remove the NAND lock as well as removes the sim-lock

there is no other option, which can done by myself?
(I dont have such a clip...)

Sorry i dont know of any other way........and please remember to post questions in the genereal section

Sim-lock can be disabled by changing CID to all 1's [can't remember if its six or eight of them]. Then just put in an alien sim . Radio S-off can be achieved with xtc clip; which enables you to change CID [if you know what you're doing] but lets say you wanted to see if the tmo would work on at&t sim... You'd need to either make the mod, be in good-standing with your carrier [call in and request code], or pay for code off the internet.
Hope that helps, and these guys are right.. questions start in general

are you 100% sure about this??? i am aware that unlock codes change the cid to htc__01 but is changing the cid to supercid removes all simlock?? just that easy??

Shall I prove this by sim unlocking to a prepaid at&t sim on a tmo wildfire s? I am sure unless something has changed. But just bc I've done it with a different phone, don't take my word for it... Read it for yourself. Fairly common knowledge; wikipedia has even published the method

I am Confused by this logic, if this was the case then why after gaining s-off and super cid would the guys over at the sensation forums then post up methods to remove sim lock as well......
Afaik the cid only controls firmware locks and not sim locks. I don't mean to question your logic, I just want to be sure, as I have been trying to remove sim lock from a different device for quite some time and if it was this easy I would kick myself

A sim lock is a firmware lock in my twisted logic world. It is sim interface locked down to carrier. SuperCarrierID makes sense to my twisted logic in attempting to unlock carrier locked firmware, but I may be wrong. Radio s-off.. that one I have trouble with classifying [firmware or soft lock; the radio itself is firmware controlled (and typically unlocked) by software].. bootloader [i'd consider a soft lock]. Now, that is probably wrong; just what's in my head.
I'll test the logic with [my tmo/gsm] wildfire s come the 25th and report back. [currently using marvelc/vm usa with no sim].

with cdma, I have a development ruu which has supercid. Also, if you needed to go long way.. you'd get your aaa & ha keys through dumps, and rewrite supercid.
with gsm, the old xtc clip can unlock it.. or perhaps pursue similar info for long way.

Some bad market apps are able to store such data... not any different than really posting the social security number online. Sadly I have found such information of mine online before. How? No clue, looks like the medical place I was born leaked it out or was public info at some time, google loves to cache that stuff. FOREVER. ahh.

[Q] SIM Unlock Desire HD

I want to make my Desire HD only SIM lock free, can I do this with the ACE tool??
I never have don this before so can someone help me to get an answer?
Does anyone have a solution for my problem?
Please help???
Ask your carrier (Mobile Network Operator) to get it SIM unlocked. Might charge you a small amount of money but It's worth it to get it done officially
Sent from my HTC Desire HD A9191 using xda premium
I know I can do that but I don't want to waste money on this phone I know it can but I want assurance.
I'm a IT specialist but I have no experience with kind of stuff, therefrom this question.
Can anyone confirm this
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=857537
READ READ READ!!!! and then read it again. Once you can read this and predict what the next sentence will say before you read that far, you are ready.
Do you understand my question?
I don't want to ROOT my Desire HD but only unlock the SIM so my girlfriend can use my phone normaly
No need to be rude. You have to pay for an unlock key if you don't want to root
And you never stated you were purposely trying to avoid rooting it. I only went and searched down and found you an easy to follow guide with the tools to do what you asked.

S-Off

I'm a little bit confused about S-Off. If I were to have S-Off would I not have to flash boot.img? What are the advantages of having S-Off?
Thank you
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
You would not have to flash boot.img and also could give yourself supercid so you can flash any ruu. There is a lot more it allows you to do but that is all the general user would use it for

s-off
open bank vault without security
s-on
closed bank vault with security guards armed with m16
s-on (unlocked) [htcdev]
locked bank vault without security. u get to mess with the outside but not the inside
get what i mean?
Ohh okay. That makes sense. Thank you both for the replies. To achieve S-Off is it a hardware or software modification?
Sent from my SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using xda premium
There are hardware and software ways, currently no way to get it altogether without the HTC DIAGS, javacard, and Y-cable. Basically no way for us end users.

how close is S-OFF
I'm considering going for HTCDev, until S-OFF comes, but I've read somewhere that the HOX should receive S-OFF pretty soon.
I hate these kind of words "pretty soon, normal, common... " its seems bla-bla to me.
so in your opinion, how close is S-OFF?

You can go to the htcdev.com website and unlock the bootloader.
And try searching "unlock carrier locked HTC wildfire" in google....and only see the xda link.

There is no way to unlock a wildfire to another carrier that we know of, other than purchasing a code from ebay etc etc....
Samsung are a little more open than htc when it comes to customization thats why they are easier to root etc etc

Umm, do you have the which in which it came ?
And remember this will only unlock your bootloader. And if Scratch said that they don't know about it, then I'm sorry there might be no other way. He is much much much more experienced in this than I am.

as mentioned by scratch, you can unlock the carrier but just not for free. Believe me when I say we have tried......and tried!!! .
you've done the hard work by managing to root and install custom rom. for most this enough as now you can flash many other available roms.

[Q] Does Network Unlocked = Bootloader unlocked?

I bought a DHD that is networked "unlocked". Is that the same thing as being bootloader unlocked?
If I was to use the Easy Ace Root Kit would I still need to unlock the bootloader with it or if they are the same thing, do I have to relock it first?
cheers
Network unlocked is a different thing than bootloader. Please refer to the hack kit in desire hd android development

OP, Hack Kit is retired. Network unlocked means that you can use any network's SIM Card in it. Bootloader is something else. You night want to do a quick search

I mean I didn't realise that I wrote hack kit. I wanted to tell him about the other method (don't remember what it's called) posted in the Desire HD Android Development forum.
Edit: Again my bad, it is in Desire HD General, named how to root without hack kit
Edit 2: You had 499 thanks, you get one from me as a present congrats for 500
