Window mount - Acer Iconia Tab A100

Any recommendations on a dashboard or window mount for the a100? I was thinking about hooking mine up to the car as a media player/gps.
Thanks

I purchased this and am surprised how well it holds the tablet: Arkon SM517 Windshield Mount for 7-Inch Tablets
It also works fine as a slightly oversized holder for my smartphone.

Hey thanks and it's cheaper than what other options i found.

I have this mount and it works great. I use it in an old Mac tractor trailer 5 days a week and it holds up great. Has yet to fall off the window, which is shocking cause my truck is very very rough riding.

800 or 850. This is one hell of a Tablet Holder! It will also take Samsung Galaxy S in portrait mode.
It is very well build, with quality plastic and soft touch materials. The joints are metal and really sturdy. It holds my a100 with almost no vibration even on rough roads.(I have the acer a100 genuine bump protector on - which is also the best in my opinion, even makes a100 more beautiful because the back is made in brushed metal look - stunning)
Pricey for sure! But functionality, looks and build quality goes for 9/10
P.S. You could easily read the reviews - they are all as nice as the product itself. There are also HD videos/illustrations in you tube/google where you could see what you are paying for in the closest detail!

Lots of options thats what i love about xda. Good people and good advice

Is any of you tried this?
I have Galaxy Nexus GSM. I'm wondering if it fits.
I sent an email to the customer service but I'm wondering your comments
I sent email to customer service and this is the answer that i received
Dear xxx,
I have searched on google about your phone, and it says the width is 2.67 inches wide.
Our car mount's adjustable width size is from 2" to 3.2", so it won't be a problem.
Hope this information was helpful, and if you have any other question, please feel free to email us back.
Best regards,

That looks pretty good,I used to use a $5 belt clip from ebay on my Eris, but now they only make them facing in. Thanks for the link. A bit spendy, but the best option for a case I've seen.

You're welcome.
I checked threads about car holders and I couldn't see anything about this car holder. Even though it is the most popular one in Amazon shop, it is not popular here.

Does this car mount have a clear view when using the camera? Some car mounts you can see a bit of the mount attachment

I have the iOttie mount and its just decent. I have my Gnex in an otterbox defender case and it barely is wide enough to hold it..with maybe a 1/4" to spare..
My phone vibrated and fell out some. It might be more stable if I permanently mounted it to the dash instead of putting it on the windshield.
But give it a go if you want. Its dirt cheap on amazon.

Thanks for comment. I think I will order it.
I'm willing to buy an office car dock for GNEX GSM, but I think it is still not released?

Armband??

I'm looking for a good arm band now that it's spring, any recommendations? I've seen a few on ebay but don't know which one is good or not and if they are sweet proof.
I just ordered a tune belt armband from amazon that is designed for the galaxy nexus. I should have today or tomorrow and I'll post pics.

Recieved it today and took it out running. I use a Bluetooth headset so I can't comment on how it works with headphones, but I did wear it upside down the entire time and my phone never moved.
At first glance it looks like it is too narrow, however with no case on the phone it fits perfectly. No problems with using the screen through the plastic. Best armband I've tried.

I use the seidio/pt hard case which I think has the thickness of TPU cases and when I first tried it, it was a very tight fit. I got about a quarter of the phone In the armband and it stretched it pretty good, didn't want to risk ripping it.

Bike Mount

Hey there guys/gals
I use my pushbike as my main mode of transport where I live as there is so much traffic but using my phone is very annoying for me the worst fear is my phone dropping out my pocket and hitting the road or getting run over. I've been looking on the internet for a while and have come across some bike mounts for the GS3 I wanted to know if any of you have ever tried one if so how safe/secure are they, and also which of these do you think would be best?
Mount one
Mount two
Mount three
Thanks in advance
Mount #1 would make me very nervous. It seems like any big bump and the phone will come unclipped and go flying. Mount #3 looks more solid but I am not sure I would trust it. My choice would be Mount #2 because the phone is not going to slip out or come unclipped. I also like the idea of being waterproof.
I wouldn't risk a $600+ phone by using a cheap bicycle mount. take a look at the Rokbed v3 case for the s3, at least if it falls it might have better chances of surviving.

Unfortunately there are not many waterproof cases for the s3, but if waterproof and bike mount is what you need probably the BeachBuoy might work for you.

That looks like a pretty sweet system, but $45 for the case + $69 for the bike mount? $114 is pretty steep.
I have a buddy who has the Trident Kraken with bike mount- http://www.tridentcase.com/series/kraken-series.aspx
$37 for the whole system. I can't give a review yet, but I'll let you know after it comes in and I've used it for a few days.
I´ve been searching for a reliable waterproof bike mount too. For motorbike and bicycle. (For now I need it on my bicycle.)
It must be waterproof.
But it´s hard to find.
I don´t like this one because it seems to be not tough enough.

WOuld be great to find a system like rockform.com but waterproof and suitable for other devices too when we get a new handheld soon or later.

Would you guys share what holders and chargers do you use in your cars?

I use the Keno+ for Phablets. I drive a 2013 Honda civic and it plugs right into the vent to the right of the steering wheel. It works great, never fallen out, easy to adjust. I'd definitely recommend this one. Kenu Airframe+ Car Mount for Phablets.
I recently picked up a Scosche MagicMount at Walmart. The price was decent and I was pleasantly surprised at how well it holds the phone in place. The steel plate fits inside my case, and the phone doesn't move when attached to the mount.
After using it a bit I decided the mount location was too low for my taste, so I just ordered this version to move it up higher and make it adjustable. I don't have the new one yet, so no pics, but if it works like the flat version I'll be happy.
I use this GreatShield mount:
http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00KVJAZVY?psc=1&redirect=true&ref_=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00
It's solid and holds the phone still, so I can't complain.
I use this one:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/151657398154
It is dirt cheap and actually nice quality. The suction thingy sticks to any surface.
iottie, i've never had a mount with this type of suction cup, it's crazy how well it grabs.
I use the Gripgo on my OPO with a Diztronic TPU case in my 2006 Honda civic

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/251719151...49&var=550644989663&ssPageName=STRK:MEBIDX:IT
but this air vent mount is also good:

Why do I gave both? One for a vertical view and one for horizontal. They both hold and support the oneplus one.
The best option for this is with no doubt like this

I'll vouch for these too. I even use 2 to hold my iPad mini on my dash. Although I bought them from ebay, more expensive at 2 for £5GBP, but you get them in 3 days rather than the estimated 30-60 days from aliexpress.
See pic
I use this iOtie holder and it is perfect. The gel pad sticks without any issue and I'm not worried about it falling off on these crappy Dallas roads.

Car Mount recommendation?

Can anyone recommend a good car mount?
I just bought some cheesy magnetic thing from Amazon. Will be returning ASAP. Ideally, I think I'm looking for something that can clip into either the air vents or on the dash of my car. I realized there probably aren't many pixel specific accessories made yet, but maybe someone has had good success with a different model for an earlier phone?
Anyway just wondering what you all were planning on using.
I've been using a good magnetic mount for the CD slot in my car since the Nexus 5 days. I like the Koomus brand of them from Amazon.

I've had the third generation iOttie car mount for about a year, and it is excellent. It doesn't have a vent clip, but its suction cup mount is very sturdy. It even comes with a little pad you can use if your dash is textured.
I second the ProClip. You can get a custom mount for your vehicle, and select a separate holder. I've got a custom mount and a universal holder that can be adjusted if you switch phones.
I second the recommendations for iOttie mounts. I bought their wireless charging one back when I got my Galaxy S6, but I still use it with my Pixels because it is incredibly convenient to secure and remove the device. Excellent quality, usability, and adjustability, well worth the purchase.

Looks like a solid product! I have an '09 Kia Spectra and the dash doesn't look like an easy place to put a phone mount. I checked out their custom mount for my car and the only drawback I can see is it completely covers a vent (for a/c) which may or may not be an issues, I won't know until mounted but.. Any experience with that for you?
Yea on my prior vehicle I had it cover the vent. It was out far enough so it still put out air but it wasn't really directional as far as flow as before. Center ones I didn't care as much about being pointed at me to keep cool. It was a solid bracket though

I have an existing car mount for my S7 before I got the XL, it holds the phone in landscape and squeezes the sides. Little concerned that this may not be good for the squeeze sensors. Anyone think it could affect the sensors over time?
I have this one since May 2016 no issues and easy off and on for various phones..I have vent but they make cd slot and I think window too

Another vote for Proclip's mounting solution. The universal large holder works fine with my Pixel 2 XL with a (Caseology Parallax) case. It's pricey but it works beautifully.
I just ordered the IOAuto magnet holder to use with Proclip's mounting bracket. I'm tired of sliding my phone into the holder. 1st world problems, I know.

I bought the IOAuto Pro. It attaches to the vehicle mount that I purchased previously from Proclip. It comes with small circular metal disks that should be attached to your phone.
I hate the thought of using adhesive to stick anything on my phone so I'm going to try and place the disk between the phone and my TPU case. In think the magnet will still work fine.
Check out YouTube. I've seen a couple of videos of others installing it.

I like this simple magnetic holder:
Techmatte MagGrip Orbit Universal Air Vent Magnetic Car Mount Holder
It requires a thin metal plate which works fine if you use a TPU case or other case that's not too thick on the back; this way, it doesn't require any permanent application. I bought 3 for family members, and a friend got one after seeing mine. It's easy to mount, secure, very simple in design - it uses a steel ball that mounts to an air vent, and a magnetic piece that connects to the ball, giving easy adjustment in all directions, or complete removal. This magnetic piece connects to the phone's steel plate. My wife has an iphone 6P which works well; I have a nexus 5X.

I'm curious to see if that works out for you. I'm intrigued, but it seems like $50 is a bit steep for that mount. If it works well for you with a case, I may consider it though.
I know my solution isn't going to be for everyone, but it works well for my needs. I have a hybrid Proclip/Ram Mount solution. Proclip for the center dash mount, then Ram Mounts for the rest (ball, short arm, and X Grip holder). It's more involved than the common solutions, but it puts my phone right whereIi want it and it's rock solid--which is important for those track days.
As mentioned upthread, this does partially block the vent, but on my Mustang not by too much, and the passenger still gets air flow when it's directed their way. A bonus is the phone stays nice & cool when staying on playing podcasts while commuting, or running the telemetry apps while on track.
I can strongly recommend this one. They're a little pricey but I have them in my truck, car, 4-wheeler and mountain bike. Just the spring clips are strong and when you add the rubber sling it'll hold on to the phone almost no matter what. This one actually fits my P2XL better than my PXL. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0066BWMNU/ref=oh_aui_search_detailpage?ie=UTF8&psc=1
