Q: Sprint Galaxy Nexus Google wallet $50 credit and CM9 - Samsung Galaxy Nexus

So I just got a Sprint Galaxy Nexus. First thing I did was root it and install CM9.
I am wondering if I will still receive the $50 google wallet credit even after doing all this.
Anyone have experience with this?
Thanks!

No guarantee, but I got mine, right at the 3 week mark. Rooted the phone before I activated it, and been running CM9 since it came available.
I wouldn't worry.

Thanks for the reassurance! I gave you "thanks" to add to your massive total.

I set it up when I first got my phone, now it has been over 3 weeks and I haven't gotten a credit.

Sprint Wallet $40 Bonus

Anyone here actually receive their $40 bonus yet? Just hoping I'm not messing anything up flashing all these roms. I did get the initial $10 and have spent it all, just wondering how long until I get the extra $40.

Sprints supposed to send it when you have the phone after a month. Not sure how the above poster got it already.

Let us know what they say...I've had mine the friday before the nexus hit stores and I have yet to get it.
i got mine the friday before release.... still no bonus? maybe only brand new activations? (used to have nexus s 4g with wallet)
the pre order email said something liek 4 weeks right?
No, it states that if you activate google wallet on a Galaxy Nexus for Sprint you will be credited. You are suppose to deactivate it on another device and reactivate it on the new one. I didn't activate mine until the GNexus was released for that purpose. The MEID is recorded and that's how Sprint knows you have activated it.
Got mine 4/20. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks. Still only have the 10 bux. I hope us early preorder-ers aren't screwed cuz we activated before 4/22 like the promo says.

No wonder sprints going broke lol but getting 40$ is sweet

Edit: Sprint Rep = Clueless
Please disregard my last post, Sprint reps are sometimes clueless and gave me the Citi MasterCard number.
So I called up Money Network and they stated that after activation it will take up to 3 weeks as expected but some may get it sooner. There is no way to check and see but as long as you got the $10 and your account is active you will get it. If for some reason you don't get it within 3 weeks call up money network @ (855) 896-0693.

Is it possible to make several Google accounts and just install Wallet and get $10

Each time? Technically you could have an unlimited amount of $10 or whatever they're giving because you're getting rid of the other account for a new account and install wallet and get $10, right?

I'm sure they track the IMEI.
Good luck with you fraud.
I never said I was going to do it. I was just asking if it was possible. I kind of knew they would detect the device on a hardware level too.

Wallet is tied to the hardware. Not your Google account. Example; before I had a gnex I had a nexus s. I got $10 on each phone using the same Google account.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
Had a Nexus S 4G with $8, moved on to Galaxy Nexus on T-Mobile and had $10. Had I not ported my number and deactivated the Nexus S 4G, I would have had $18 But spread across 2 different devices.
I had two faulty Gnexus so I ended up with $30 from google over the month. Too bad they weren't as generous as Sprint!

where to buy gnex outright (cheapest)

Lost mine a need it replaced. I saw some one mention it was in the 400$'s some where... can't find that thread.

crap thats GSM only, I need vzw.
If you can, you can always open a new line and buy one on contract. Its about $199 + plan + $10 for extra line. Or find one on craigslist with a CLEAN ESN. Make sure its clean and can be activated.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using XDA
thought about that, but at 350 for ETF and 200 for new line...$550

If you call retentions, more than likely they'll take care of you. If you're out of contract retentions entire job is to keep you from leaving. The way they could handle this situation is more or less set it up in the system as if you were going to cancel, but locked into another contract... more or less, as if you had cancelled, then signed up as a new customer. In fact, that might be how they'd do it.
Give them a call and try.
Here's a direct, ZERO wait time Sprint retentions hotline number: 866-881-9571

I really would wait if I were you, signs of this means a new Nexus phone is in the making by Google. Which I would buy because GS2 has been a mess with ICS, and I am secured updates with a Nexus device!

Rethink that. Sprints version of the galaxy nexus is not supported by Google. The sprint version is code named the toroplus, look it up. Good development community though
Sent from my SPH-D710 using Tapatalk 2
I'm not sure that device is any better than what we have now, in fact it might be worse.
I know ICS runs better on it. Smoother In my opinion. My wife has one. I talked to Samsung this morning and according to them Sprint is hustling Epic owners about a bug fix update. The Samsung Supervisor even said it was never recommended that Sprint push the update. She said no update is in the works for this model. The funny thing about it is Samsung says there call lines are flooded with Epic owners having issues and Sprint tells me there are not any problems and I need to take out insurance. That will be a cold day in Hell!

To those who were terminated from Sprint (part 2)

So after posting this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2399983
I decided a few days later to see what would happen if I added data roaming into the equation. I checked my sprint account and it showed ~380MB roaming data (12MB on sprint lol). Clearly not enough
I found myself a nice 1GB test file to download and was able to get it 3x the first night and 2x last night.
Woke up and go this text:
SprintFreeMsg: Please watch your mail for an important account notice. If your address has changed blah blah blah
I looked at my sprint account to see how much my roaming has went up and saw a much nicer 6.5GB! Not bad for 2 days of work!
I'm HOPING this is them parting ways with me, and I can finally go GSM (Nexus 4 probably).
Has anyone who has been terminated confirm this is the final straw or what?! :victory:
If they don't ETF you, I mean one thing is for certain, you're outta here!
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using xda app-developers app
Well I know for a fact they can't ETF you if they are the one terminating the contract.
I honestly wouldn't even be in such a rush to get off Sprint but I cracked my screen and don't want to spend the $$ when I was planning on leaving Sprint when my contract is up in March 2014 anyway... sooner the better though lol

Well, if you broke whatever terms are in their contract and they terminate it, yeah they can charge you an ETF.
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
They are sneaky though, said I had completely free roaming, didn't tell me if I went over X amount they would terminate me. I'm sure it was somewhere in that stack of papers.

That sucks. But, this would make you the first and only person i've ever heard of being charged an ETF when sprint ended the contract and not you. Maybe you caught the roaming department on a bad day or something.
