Help get AOKP to boot! - Gen9, Gen10 General

DISREGARD THIS FIRST POST, SEE LATER IN THREAD FOR WHAT I REQUIRE HELP WITH - Thanks
Right, I'm doing some work on porting AOKP from the HP Touchpad (why the touchpad? I'll explain later), but I need to mount or extract the ext4 packaged file to place the files in from proxuser's amazing porting guide. Any ideas how I would do this? I run Ubuntu 12.04 64-bit btw
Why the Touchpad?
The touchpad has a 1024*768 resolution, the same as the 80 G9. The TP also has a huge amount of roms to port apps + framework from
Proxuser's guide is over here > http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=24021782&postcount=4 (Yes, I know it's in the Desire S forum and is made for it, but it should work)

(?)
mount imagefilename /yourmountpoint
e.g:
mount ext4img.img /mnt

Thanks, that worked. Now, onto porting

Also, how do I re-make the ext4 file? I cannot copy into it as it is "full"

I worked out how to resize it, it's now 536mb.
I used this http://docs.redhat.com/docs/en-US/R...ml/Storage_Administration_Guide/ext4grow.html
And now I'm pushing the ext4 file for a first alpha. Knowing my look, adb will probably fail

Any help guys?

Ext4 image is mounted and works. BUT gralloc module is not loaded (line 71 and next, basically there is no screen output) so system tries to reboot. Did you copy proper modules to the image?
And maybe remove your product keys from line 55

Do I understand correctly that you work on precompiled AOKP build? If yes- are all modules and libs correctly prelinked? No conflicts?

Your porting guide may be good but for porting "something" into the existing system but not for porting a new system to the device

Seems good.
However Archos uses not standard system layout, some of binaries/libs may be linked statically.

The guide posted earlier on this page just gives the same result as my original one.
I've just tried patching the framework.jar and that doesn't get rid of the error? Can someone else do it for me? I attached the framework.jar from the TouchPad ROM
Also, can anyone see why the display doesn't come on? it stays black. Is that the "splash"? I attached the new logcat

Nice rom... undoubtedly FASTEST I hv evr used.
I jst want u to add Titanium backup app + Rom control options (as we have in JJ Hybrid).
Also, does this rom support USB-OTG ??
Normally the usb hotsting function is determined by the kernel you use. The rom can simply have an integrated sys app that allows usb mounting and browsing, though even if not there are many free apps on the market that can do this easily. Doomkernel has the usb otg fucntions and so do some others though still with minor lacks of support like ntfs file systems ect.
by the way jader, what kernel do you reccomend fot usb hosting with ntf support for both usb and sd, also with swap or zram and other common tweaks?
i stuck on Sony Logo i follow the instruction....
3 time i try to install the rom... and it dont work.
any help ;(?

1. Open the zip file in your pc

Did you install the latest firmware and given advanced stock kernel by jader? btw how did u manage to install cmw recovery with a locked BL?
I'm running .587 firmware with jaders advanced stock kernel and everything works fine though i have an unlocked bootloader so everything is easier.
I guess u just have to flash another working rom.....just my opinion

Firstly, This should go in the questions sub forum, that's what its there for. Secondly, FXP has a working build for the Xperia Play. So you could use there ROM as a base. Compile everything normally and CM10 should and when you build your ROM should work with CM10 ROMs. If not, you either heavily modified the ROM and you most likely will need a custom ROM(Unlikley) or you made a mistake. Reply if you need links to the got source. Happy building!

Oh OK! Didn't see the .1. Yes get it from source and try to port? You might have to make some kernel adjustments. I recommend trying to port a similar device or ROM using 4.2. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
Glad to see someone actually noticed 4.2

Seems that with the actual sources they put on github you can't achieve that,we need either fxp to push their source or to debug it ourselves, I just made a build this morning but it doesn't go past the kernel logo, and can't seem to be able to logcat, the strange thing is that adb doesn't recognize the phone but I was able to use flashtool to reboot it in flashmode via adb, any suggestions?

basicaly you need to go into apps and delete keyboard data and cache. and than reboot. it must work , it's working for me.
i use the 10d version.
I did that and its not working again.
I have in my system/app folder LGEIME.apk and LGEIMEbin.apk,im not sure it has to be 2 keyboard apk's in there.

It works with all kinds of roms even Ubuntu touch all you need to do is find repacked version of the Rom or repack it by yourself. Repacker is on the first page of dualboot thread. You can also ask sb to do it for you cause repacker only works under Linux. First of all you need to read because you can mess up your device if you don't know what you're doing.

I don't have linux either at the moment. I don't know if someone has already repacked this rom but you can search either in miui topic and dualboot one. You can also ask in those topics to repack it for you. Finally don't forget to hit "thanks" if I helped you.

To confirm, MIUI works fine on dual boot, I repacked one or two versions long time ago. In fact, afaik, all roms can work on bootmanager, repackaging is needed though.
I'd suggest that you ask if someone could repack you a recent version in BootManager thread, you will get more visibility than here. I don't have time these days to repack, but I'm sure someone will do it if you ask...
And if you have questions regarding bootmanager, don't hesitate to ask in the dev thread, it's easier to follow for me.

ExistenZ Ultra 1.0.0 as native
Hello,
I'd like to run the following system on my Xperia S:
native rom: ExistenZ Ultra 1.0.0 (thread here)
loop rom: letama's AOSP 4.3.1, for which he has already supplied the suitable .zip
As I'm running a linux 64bit box, I'd try to repack the ExistenZ myself, but I have some doubts this would work:
- Does the used kernel work within a native rom at all? I guess so, as it has been around now for some time.
- Would it work with the TX-Core Kernel 5.7? And how could this be done?
- In the 2nd post of the OP, there is given an instruction which includes flashing two images after each other with some fiddling in between - can this be packed as one flashable rom for the native partition at all?
And as this sounds rather tricky to me after all (never repacked a rom so far): Would anyone be willing to pack it for me?
Any hints on how and what to repack with the script would of course also be appreciated - Thanks in advance!
