Best Android Games?

Now that I have a Epic, and not that old hero, I can do 3D gaming! so what are your Favs? Mine so far are.
Raging Thunder 2
Sandstorm.
Paper Toss
Angry Birds.

Definitely have the emulators game boid etc.

My long-time favorite Android games are Wixel and Word Mix; both have free versions. But in terms of games that can take advantage of the Epic's power, well... I haven't gotten any really demanding Android games yet. Air Control works a lot better than it did on my Moment though.
I think emulation is really the way to go. Especially now that you have a keyboard!

Nova, quake 3, asphalt 5 and crusade of destiny all work and look great.

Yes, Crusade of Destiny.. The game I love to hate playing. so much leveling it's crazy.
Best game would have to be caligo chaser. check it out if your into side scrolling RPG's.

I like air control, drop, and paper toss.. just some simple games I can play to pass time and boredom when at work or out n about.

glyder 2 works well with the epic. its free in the marketplace(ad supported) but still one of my favs.
a lot of reviews say its slow and isnt good.. but very smooth on the epic.

NFS Shift is amazing, graphics are sweet. Been playing it a lot now. I found a way to always lead the race and win 1st. My vote for best game.

I actually cant get this to work on my Epic. Always says I dont have enough space. How much do you need....???

If you need to search through these games quickly to see if the game you want to buy is working just use Ctrl F
Also, if you find a game that is working on you GS2 but is in the not working list on this post, please tell us what version of game it says you are using. If you don't know how to find this out, just go to:
Settings - Applications - Manage Application - Select the game.
It should be listed under the title of the game eg. Version x.x.x

nice thread, although i donta have my sgs2 as of yet would be nice to be able to play some of the non compatable games as a few are good

AIUI the current version of the SGS II doesn't use the tegra chipset so does that mean that the games featured in the Tegra Zone app typically won't work ?

most if not all tegra 2 optomised games dont work on sgs2....but they seem to pickup the sgs2 as a tegra device. maybe its a duel core thing lol

well theres more games that work than dont, do you ahve to buy these from android market or can you just install for free from sd?

The galaxy s2 is not available on any mobile services yet, only phones4u so there wont be many compatible games available yet until the updates come through. They shouldn't take long though. I would still recommend getting one though. It's the nicest phone I have ever used. I have always had HTC's or an Iphone and this is just in a different league. All my mates are sending back there iphone 4's now because they had a go on this one

It depends were you get them from. If there free you can download them from the internet, but then you might as well get them from the market. At least then they will be regularly upgraded. I would only download the APK's from the internet when there is only a specific version that will work. If you want to install them from My Files you will need to allow the installation from an unknown source. You can find paid game for free if you know were to look but I wouldn't recommend it. I only do that when I'm trying different versions of the game for research purposes. But i remove them straight away.

Shame that it looks like most of the newer Gameloft games have problems...=(
I love playing NOVA 2 on my iPad 2 with gyroscope, hope it will be fixed soon for the SGSII!

I think Riptide GP, a game with Tegra enhancements, is impressive and is easy to hand over to anyone and have them get into it right away.
For apps, I guess Google Earth would knock Grandma's socks off .

Cs portable and whale trail. These are not tegra optimized, but there is no doubt that they look great. I am addicted to cs portable and would love to know what drugs the devs of whale trail where on when they created that gane. Must of been shrooms or sumin.

Some advice from me would be to stay away from gameloft for now. They have a funny way of creating games. Dont get me wrong there games are great but there just not that good on our nexus 7. If you are gong to buy a gameloft game make sure you read the description to see if its tegra 3 optimized or any mention of the nexus 7. If not then dont buy the game. The only acception i can give you is modern combat 3 and nova 3. Nova 3 is a bit so so, while mc3 plays great.
Dont get asphalt 7 until you see a update in the play store. Right now it is on version 1.0.0. I have it myself and it is not optimized the way it should be (ie: bad graphics and low frame rate).
Just be careful as to what you buy as the nexus is new device and you can very easily be disapointed as many games need to b updted.

working on a list now my dad uses my Gmail and he's bought like £300 worth of games so trying them now he uses the new Acer Iconia so the THD won't work but most of the rest should fingers crossed. here's some so far.
asphalt 7 works well
real racing 3 looks great
simpsons tap works great
tiny tribes didn't work for me-kept closing with no force close error
most of the THD normal versions work such as Shadowgun, zombie driver, sprinkle etc
mini motor racing works great
great big war game works well
Sega total war battles is amazing sounds really great.

playing around this morning after root and custom rom installation-found Retroarch-FPse all work fine with ps1 games, tested Spyro/Crash/jadecoocoon/finalfantasy/resi1 all perfect
also my boy GBA emulator works fine being playing pokemon this morning as well
going to try ps2 emulator either later today or tomorrow will update

kings bounty legions works-great strategy game for android and its free

Whilst I agree it's pretty good - you should try it on an iPhone5. It's even better.
However, I still have made the full-time switch over to a One. What a phone!

Anyone else get a Green Fuzzy screen on "Shadowguneadzone"
otherwise these are all tested to work too Vector, Pool Break Pro, Subway Surf, Epic Citadel, and Dead Trigger..

regarding RR3 sadly so sadly i still dont have my device, but it appears to be running in 1080p? pretty soon with the invation of s600 1080p phones, devs will realize not run at native 1080p on wasted pixels (even current consoles struggle with that) and instead scale up from 720p like they do on the retina iPads and regain 50% performance
two more things to keep in my mind, there is a promised GPU drivers update on the way which might come along the 4.2.2 should result in better performance as well and finally HTC own CPU governor is a little battery friendly and can drop frames so if you are willing to root at a later point, a lot more speed can be extracted with custom gaming tweaks

Give it a little time and deadzone will boot up fine. I have the same problem from time to time

[Q] GPU-heavy Android games to test Adreno 305

Dear fellow S4 Mini guys,
I have bought this wonderful device a week ago, and since then it gave me nothing but usability comfort and modern smartphone awesomeness (I think its part High-end and part Middle-end (namely PPI and GPU are of the middle-end. You are welcome to discuss this though).
Being a mobile gaming junkie, the first I did is fire up a latest PPSSPP and playing some PSP titles, and I am still amazed at how the ARM cores have matured over time, Qualcomm Krait 300 (and 400 that started to appear just right now) and ARM Cortex A15 currently being state-of-the-art.
However, my grudge is against the GPU, which is less important to platform emulation than it is to native Android games. While it is enough for any game I actually play on S4 Mini, it is showing its middle-end teeth on the games like Iron Man or even Vice City. And I started to wonder what this Adreno 305 GPU is actually about. I've been for quite some time apart from recent 3D Android titles, and have seldom spare time for checking anything that is downloadable to figure out for myself.
So I wanted to know what games are the most GPU-intensive and demanding so I could test them and get a grip on the general GPU performance of S4 Mini. Not that it would change anything, but once the curiosity starts to spread... From Youtube videos I know that N.O.V.A. 3 runs quite good.

Thanks, I'll check out some of these games tonight.
However, from my experience with 2011 Xperia Play I can state the following:
Dead Space, Shadowgun, Mass Effect and Need for Speed Most Wanted will run flawlessly on anything even remotely more powerful than Adreno 205, which is considerably behind Adreno 305.
Btw, I forgot to add that Carmageddon, GPU-accelerated mode of FPSE and N64oid run flawlessly as well. But I believe they are not GPU-demanding enough to push the limits of S4 Mini.

Take a look at a game called "The Room". Quite fun as a puzzle game and looks quite nice.
Seem to hit some snags here and there. You determine if it's poor optimisation or if it's just GPU-intensive.
Another game that looks quite good from the screenshots (don't really play fast-paced games on my phone) is a game called Galaxy on Fire 2 HD (it's free).

Galaxy on Fire 2 HD isn't supported on the I9195 though

Oh really, well that sucks. I'm able to download it on my I9190.
Edit:Just finished downloading. Confirmed working on I9190.

Yes it is indeed weird. I've emailed the developers and their reply:
Thank you very much for the report, that Galaxy on Fire 2 HD is not available for your Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini LTE, we'll forward it to our development team in order to let them check this issue and whether the game should be compatible with this device.

That is in "your case" through the playstore yes. If you get the APK from other sources, you can install it. Basically most games that say "Not Compatable" are compatable anyways.. it's just the playstore that thinks your device is not supported.
Beware that if you have editted your build.prop and your DPI, playstore can also have compatability issues because its 240dpi for this device.
Also I'm not listing games if they do not work, obviously!
NOVA3 just works fine.

Try out Ravensword. Runs on the unity engine but graphics are pretty good! It's been described as skyrim for Android, minus the largeness.

I have Xperia M (Can't afford more than that) , it also have Adreno 305 , i can run games like Dead Trigger , Shadow Gun , Real Racing 3 ,Asphalt 7 and 8 and the game runs pretty smooth , too bad i can't play games like MC4 and NOVA 3 cuz of its internal size . Nevertheless , its a good GPU :good:

Yeah but note that you need to force 4x MSAA in developer options to make it play.
