Thanks to everyone. I love this pic.
Many thanks to all that helped me learn along the way
Announcement:
I will update the OP with this info shortly.
For the next few weeks my fellow team member Timmetal who is totally awesome by the way. Is going to take over this ROM. I will be in here and the other threads answering questions and helping as I always do but won't be doing any actual work on this.
Pretty much I have four weeks left on unemployment. I don't know if I will get an extension or not so I am redoing resumes and finding at least five good jobs a day to apply for instead of two. Doesn't sound like much but believe me. Between personality test and all the other crap its about 1-2 hours per job app. So it takes up some time. As soon as I get things squared away I plan on resuming this and also starting another project that I have had in mind called Super Clean Touchwiz. Pretty much its a super clean UI with some modifications that make it run and look soon much better. But anyway. Please give the guy the same love you have shown me as I'm sure you will.
I am not responsible for your phone not booting, damage to your device in any shape fashion or form. Follow my outlined directions and you should have no issue whatsoever.
This is my first ROM that I am publicly releasing. I have been making my own personal build for a while but never thought they were worth releasing. I figured I would share this one.
This is a stock, mildly de-bloated stock FF09 ROM that has been themed to include a look of the GS3 and Stock ICS.
There are a lot of people I would like to thank for help I have received but honestly this page would go on forever if I typed them all out. You know who you are. Thanks especially to my testers that help me when I am unable to flash a build. I helps me so much more then you may realize.
This ROM includes Mods from the following locations and Devs. If you have a minute. Please let them know how much we appreciate them by slapping their thanks button
Base ROM is the De-Odexed FF18 Build from Datajosh
Agats FF18 Kernel
Inspired by SALMAN ROM. Seriously awesome work by android_isda_****
Launcher from Galaxy S 3, Mod found here
SVoice Hack found here:
Themed MMS to mimic the SkyRocket MMS
Mildy debloated. Some apks left as not to effect functionality
Icons have been themed with the icons from the Galaxy S3
Used Icons from here
Used some icons from Tiffs ICS theme
SGS 3 Music Player can be found here
Dialer done by Avataroffrost
Note from Agat about his kernel.
Agat has informed me that after several users tested on his kernel. Him and Sfhub believe the EMMC bug MAY have been fixed. They had several testers wipe data and do several operations while on various ROMs and none of them bricked.
What does this mean to you? This means that if you so choose to, you may be able to resume flashing as we used too all that time ago before the EMMC bug was brought to light. Now I can't confirm or dispute this as I do not have a way to get another phone so I cannot chance it. But based on what I have heard so far. Many others are getting the same results.
If you have any further questions about this. Hit Agat up in his thread. It should be linked above somewhere and I am sure he will be able to go into more detail on it. Everyone please be careful.
Huge Thanks to all my Testers that helped me along the way.

Guide:
Download ROM from link below and place on your SD Card.
I personally recommend Odining stock EL29 before flashing.
Flash the EL26 Stock Repack Kernel (Linked Below as well if needed)
Boot to recovery and wipe data, system, and cache or use Calkulin’s Format all script.
Flash ROM, wait forever, reboot and profit.
Note: I did notice this ROM does seem to take a while to flash. So be patient.
I am open to all ideas and suggestions. Keep in mind I am not a Dev by any means. This is a project that I am going to keep working on. I would have done it as a theme only but I plan to make plenty of changes along the way.

Looks great man, I'm going to try this now!
If you can, can you change the background on the Messaging app to black instead of white? In your screenshots, it looks white and I think black would be better suited for our phone, plus it saves battery!

Agreed on the black background for MMS! Looks great, though, gonna give it a try.

I personally like the white. But I can make one that has a black background as a add on if that would be fine.

I'm sure that'll work.
How come you chose not to include the stock email app? I use exchange with my uni. account so I kinda need it in a rom haha.
Anyway, everything else looks awesome man! I really like how everything works on here, hell if I end up having enough free time maybe I should start doing this too lol.

Honestly. I didn't even think about that. What I will do. Tonight or tomorrow I will make a full ROM version for those that would like the stock apps. You can always remove the ones you don't want. And also do a stock messaging app with the black background and those bubbles and icons.
Thanks for the feedback.

I think it would be good if you could theme the status bar to look more like ics

Nice work buddy.
If you want any help with themeing status bar and/or getting transparent pull down let me know.
I might be able to help you.
Congrats to you first official release.

Will have an update out in a few. Have been working on it for a while. One last flash to test it then I will upload. Here is the changes. I will add them to the OP once it's done.

Added a Stock MMS Mod. This is the stock Mms themed with just the icons and bubbles.
So it has the darker background. I will do a solid black one but this will do for now.
Request. If you notice when you long press on the home screen it gives you some options for
homescreen or lockscreen. When you select those there are a few empty slots. Reason being that
the launcher needs the gallery from the SGSIII. I have a full System/app dump from the SGSIII
but adding in the apk isn't enough. Anyone that may have some insight into this please feel
free to throw out ideas. Once I get that app to work then I can move onto other things from the
SGSIII.
Enjoy and thanks for the nice responses.

[ROM] VanillaRocket - Mods please close this topic

UPDATE 4
Hello all,
Pending a new release for this ROM, I will stop supporting the "0.3" version originally posted.
I would like some help deciding cosmetics & features next release before it goes live. Please complete the following brief survey:
http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/VJRLWRZ
A lot of fixes and changes have been made and requests have been accounted for as long as they do not deviate from the nature of this ROM being clean, functional, stable, good-looking, and ready to be a base for future devs. The appearance will be very AOSP-ish but with traces of TouchWiz.
Heads up: there will be no XLoud\Beats Audio by default. We have enough audio issues as it is and these are IMHO not any better than using DSPManager (aside from having the cute Sony\Beats branding stamped on them).
I'm not releasing anything until I fix the damn call echo issue ...worst case scenario I will workaround it by keeping Noise Reduction off. But I want to fix it
Q&A: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=24253640
General questions? post in the above link...it will help me keep track better
^^
I no longer wish to have two seperate topics. So post here...but wait till the next release before you do
First of all, thank you to Racing19969 and anybody else associated with the Skyrocket ICS port...you made this possible.
Also want to thank CyanogenMod (<3) and the original author of DSP Manager (will find credits tomorrow) from which I borrowing DSP Manager for this ROM
The goal: to make a CLEAN, no frills alien TouchWiz + ICS rom. Its not meant to be exciting or have a crazy amount of hacks in it. In fact as of right now, the only packages added from the community are SuperUser and DSP Manager. And I don't plan on changing that.
Current status is...the ROM is running and its running QUICK. But there are some minor issues to be worked out and some beautification to be done.
The priorities:
Stability
Friendliness
Battery Life
If you are going to comment without constructive criticism, then just look away from this thread. The ROM is what it is. If you are going to install it, I would appreciate pointing out as many bugs as you can
For right now (temporarily): I did add the wonderful, feather-weight Zeam Launcher alongside TouchWiz...this is because I had issues with TW force closing on me early on in the modification process. So until more progress is made on this ROM, I've decided to keep it in there in such an event that TW decides to be unhappy and constantly force close.
A *lot* of bloatware was removed, especially from AT&T and some of Samsung's own social/media/diary/etc packages. I want this ROM to be STABLE, fast, and clean.
Next release ETA:VERY VERY SOON. NOW THAT AUTO ROTATE WORKS :-D
That being said, there are still issues to be worked out. Here is the list of changes made right now:
Added DSPManager from update-cm-9-20120330-NIGHTLY-galaxys2-signed, not functional ATM
Added Gallery, Mms, and Shutdown from GT-I9100 XWKI4 ROM; This fixes the shutdown issue, the Gallery landscape resize issue, and the delete SMS thread FC issue
Also added Browser from GT-I9100 XWKI4 ROM; not only is it more stable but the Search icon is fixed in its place and it has more features
Added apns-conf.xml from above CM9 nightly
International Galaxy S2 boot animation (AT&T anim is hideous)
Removed many many bloat; I'll try to compile a better list later
Added latest version of Polaris Office from T-Mobile ROM...It's a simple, lightweight, and pretty good doc editor/viewer
Already rooted
TODO:
Merge racie's unsecure Skyrocket Kernel COMPLETE
^^ Transform samsung boot animation to a ZIP to work with above kernel
Remove traces of Software Update COMPLETE
Put back the 2G - 3G / band select setting in our Settings menu Priority

Modify TouchWiz default home screen XML so that widget_service_v0.1.4_shared.apk can be removed from the system/app folder entirely prior to emptying the home screens COMPLETE

Thank you to markusf21 for providing the above mirror. Bandwidth costs money, so please give this user a thanks!!
PS, my personal opinion...install the Telus radio. no echo issues thus far. But if you don't know what a radio is....don't do it.
Update: I have big suspicions that this is a RIL or qualcomm audio config issue. It is now the priority problem which I will look to tomorrow..
Enjoy
Update coming tomorrow..
For today I am tired!
Hopefully I can get this one to boot. Raver's just gives me booltloops to eat. We'll give this a run. I'll report back.
Edit: booted right up and is going well. Nothing too crazy yet. Will keep you posted.
Youtube played well and video was right on. I could actually hold it in landscape and watch video with not much effort.
>>DARKSIDE
the first boot may take a few min as this is Deodexed
Also, nice to see a fellow P999er here
I have been running the port for the past 3 days and the only issue I have is the rotate and I know that's a kernel issue but that port took many flashes and reboots. Let's see if this one is easier to install and I'll report later.
Edit : I always use darkside wipe just like on my transformer there some kind of wipe just like it and I'm so glad that the gs2 has it too.
Sent from Samsung Galaxy S II
It's important to to siperwipe. Darksides script works perfectly everytime, but prior to using it it took me many attempts to flash the leak. I am looking into hacking usermode android into invertig the kernels auto rotation parameters. Dirty hack but I believe it is possible
by looking at the change log I think you are on the right track! I do have one question, on the ics skyrocket leak, I noticed there is a lot of freezing and watching streamed videos is damn near impossible it lags beyond belief, so I was wondering if you had a chance to take a look at some streamed videos.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
Have not tried any streaming but youtube...youtube works well
Edit: HQ working perfectly on youtube as well

Sent from my t989 --- SAMSUNG-SGH-I727 using XDA
Any chance we can see some ROM screenshots of changes?
Dead link can you please provide a mirror
Mirror on the way...
Screenshots I will try my best to do tonight, although I do not think I can until tomorrow (~12 hours from now since we're all in different timezones)
I'm not into any drastic theming, so there is not much specialty here. I like clean and simplicity....I cannot BELIEVE AT&T and Samsung even plan on releasing the current ROM they have for Skyrocket. It's bloated to hell.
EDIT:
If anybody can confirm the following MD5 with the mirror:
d5206397a40483cd017e3c3295f8a1c3
I appreciate it. I just want to make sure I calculated the right one and that the mirror is also the same.

How did u get youtube in landscape? I have the hacked hd ics youtube pushed into system apps . It works great but no landscape.....is it the youtube that comes with the rom? Oh and for a camera fix use camera zoom fx... it will actually show pics the right way in gallery and send to people the right way too. For portrait shots just hit menu and rotate once

Well since our auto rotate is broken, I just turned it on and physically put the phone in portrait mode. LOL
And agreed at Camera Zoom FX. Like it a lot. If the autorotate fix doesn't work out, I will compile an ICS camera locked to landscape mode**.
@Skorpion_
I will look into it, hopefully in the next 24 hours.

I started the video then turned on screen rotation then held in vertically and slowly moved to horizontal and voila. I used the YouTube app that came in the rom.
The only real gripe I have right now is that the sideways scrolling16 panel toggle (thanks lidroid & RaverX3X) and the folders ui in gtab simiclock is pretty sticky, from lack of a better word. I'm sure it's due to the rotation issue. Looking good so far. Adwex hauls ass on this rom.
Oh yeah and vignette is great for pics too, alas youbhv to go into gallery and rotate them. Snaps em quickly tho. No delay like the stock camera.

Hi, welcome to CapRom Turbo. The Turbo in the name is a street fighter 2 reference, as my Amaze ROM was CE, "Turbo" is the just next logical step in the nomenclature.
This is really a side hobby for me as I know this is derivative work. Please consider donating to the real devs! This ROM is just for fun until the real roms we're all waiting for are released.
Video: http://youtu.be/TeDXh9KaOZI << This is video of my Amaze ROM and not the SGS3 ROM but the installer looks the same.
Features - Customizable. You control your options.

Launchers: Apex / Touchwiz / Trebuchet
AOSP replacements for Samsung apps (calculator, calendar, mail, MMS)

Community:
Tell me what you guys want to see or add, and I will try my best, if appropriate, to accommodate your requests. Also, tell me what works, what doesn't, what is good, what isn't.
Notes:
I don't make any warranty as to how this will work for non Tmobile phones, so please don't inquire about it.
I highly recommend RomanBB's Adama 3 kernel. I'd include it but i am having problems with the kernel installation.
A kernel is not included, but you can install one immediately after the AROMA installer has completed its run.
Known Issues:
-Toggle2g requires root access and the phone process may occasionally stop. Just grant it access / hit wait.

So far so good. I'd like to see more things swapped out for their AOSP counterparts. That's all I'd really want if you don't mind adding in the next release. I haven't come across any problems as of yet but I did just flash it so only time will tell. Thanks though Glad to see some touchwiz crap gone.
Nice Work!
I love the New ROM - the installer is very nice and I love all the options you offer - couple of odd things occurred - I opted to use the Touchwiz launcher - when i tried to change wall paper for home and lock screen - the only wallpapers you could choose for the Lock Screen were from the canned group of wall papers that come with the rom - on other roms and stock you can choose lock screen wallpaper from Gallery - it does let you choose home screen wall paper from other sources besides the stock wall paper - (I wonder did my choice of not wanting LIve Wall Papers effect this in some way?)
I also miss the Visual Voice Mail Ap - I was able to pull it from the redruM Rom with Root Explorer and push it into the Ap folder so no big deal

I've been rooting since the g1 came out , and I'm here to tell you your installer is sick. That is the best ever. So far this Rom is rocking.

Thank you to all the wonderful people who have contributed to this community, they made this possible. These are mods and guides that may have gotten buried with new threads constantly coming in. These are only a reference point to make things easier to find. Thanks would be appreciated as this took me a while to compile. Also don't forget to thank the OPs of these threads for all their hard work to make this community better. CHEERS.

[APP][deprecated]erikalin-stock app for GB27 stock files

PLEASE NOTE: THIS APP IS NO LONGER SUPPORTED AS OF 12/31/2013. FEEL FREE TO CONTINUE USING IT BUT AS IS AND ON YOUR OWN. THANKS.
erikalin - stock app
No more longing for stock apps that the ROM developer removed as bloatware but you really love...
No more explaining to users how to pull a file out of that stock ROM and push to system...
No more needing to include those extra stock apps you really would rather not keep in your ROM...
One person's bloatware is another person's beloved Yahoo stock widget...
This is a lightweight app that has a simple UI in which users can go get whatever stock apps they want to download from my repo and push back into the custom ROM they are running. The app also has a Help tab that leads to a noob-friendly video help file 2:30 minutes long, which demonstrates how to download any stock ROM apk file from the repo and push it to system/app/, set permissions, and reboot.
INCLUDING THIS APP IN YOUR ROM BUILD
Permission is given for anyone to include this app in a ROM. You do not need to ask me in advance; just let me know. Here is how to do that. If you include this app in a ROM please do two things for me in return: (1) Post a link to your ROM here on my app thread to say you have included this app, and (2) Post a link to this thread in your OP with other credits.
Please keep in mind that I cannot provide support other than for the functionality of this app: a stock file repo and basic instructions for how to push apps into the system partition. People should continue to post ROM questions on the appropriate thread for that ROM.
Do not link directly to my file repo or my youtube video that is attached to this app. You can use this app, but please do not use the pieces I have hosted and created for this app. If my traffic log indicates that this is happening, I will have to take the files down.
Keep in mind that I do not monetize on youtube, so view counts mean nothing to me. And I am hosting all files for your use without any ad support. "Click through to the thanks button" is appreciated.
THANKS & CREDIT
credit: kobridge for stock deodexed GB27 ROM, files pulled & used with permission and appreciation.
credit: bigmike6200 for being a faithful tester on build-a-rom, for which this app was made.
This app is signed, so if it is not already baked into the ROM you are using, just click to install like a normal app. Uninstall like a normal app too.

File names for the stock apps are here!
Just put .apk at the end of these to know what file names match the apps. I did not also cover widgets, but I think their file names are all obvious. I believe I have these all correct. If you find a mistake please pm.
To make it readable:
If viewing in the XDA mobile app, tap once on image and then pinch to zoom.
If viewing in mobile browser, tap once, then once more on the viewer, to pinch to zoom.
If viewing on a PC, click the thumbnail, then click on it again to open in a separate tab to zoom in.
If viewing on a mac, I don't know you, and you paid too much for your system.
Say what :what: very nice.....this will help alot of people.....nicely done :thumbup:

Hey bud, ROM is not released yet. This is just an app I made to put into build-a-rom when I release, but I am sharing the app because if people check it out, they'll probably realize they want to bake it into their ROMs as well. Your feedback helped - made me realize that I needed to do this for what I'm putting together. Also, when I do release build-a-rom, you'll be able to keep your data and flash over the test build.

If you guys would want to include this app in your next deodexed ROM versions, go ahead and use it. Just give a link to this thread. I did theme this according to my own project, with the neon green on black. If you want, I can make a few versions themed to your colors. Specifically, where you see green on black in the app's landing page as well as the icon, I can make that whatever on whatever. Black on buttons and app icon could be transparent, but I do like my main background image in the app - it's a darkened screenshot from stock GB7 TW homescreen. Subtle, but pleasing because of the function of the app... but the neon green-on-black color scheme I could change for you easily enough. If you would like this, let me know your hex codes.
I'm going to wait to see whether I get some feedback to help decide if I should make a revision or if it's good out of the box. Fifty downloads so far, which surprises me for a little app on this thread. Either way, I can make a few versions themed for you... we are small in number in the ghostly E4GT forums... And seriously, I've got this handset for another year. If you do not want to include it or don't like it - no offense - just offering/sharing.
Who's gonna be first? Just kidding, looks good.
Edit: Really liking this, great job. Simple and useful at it's best.
Nice no more needle in a haystack search we like simplicity!!!
Very cool. It should be noted somehow that preload files will have to be dropped into system/app to prevent confusion because they will not run by themselves without a symlink. Two very nice apps in one day. This one and the repository app.

It's all good, lol, but you are correct. Erika Lin = "erikalin"
Anyway...
Today in between doing my real work I've also been thinking about how to improve this thing. 90 downloads in one day? Of my little app? In our quiet little forum? I'm glad people are checking it out, so I'll do right by it. I have some initial ideas:
(1) Theme in a few different colors, build them and name them by color scheme. I'd be theming the font color, buttons, and the app icon's colors. Like I said, I do like my app background image so that's staying. Darkened screenshot of stock JB, it makes sense. If anyone says there's interest, I'll make a few different color schemes for v.2. Give hex #s if you want. Honestly, I'm not at a loss for how to spend my time, so if there's no interest I'm fine with my just using original color scheme.
(2) Make sure to clarify push apps to system/app/. Thanks again, td, for reminding. I'll reword the main activity page's description and it will be clear.
(3) Verify that bluehost.com really means unlimited storage and bandwidth for my hosting accounts. I do have several websites on that account, and since I'm now using one of my extras for putting E4GT files on... I can't let it put my regular websites at risk. I will investigate though. If I can host more stuff legitimately with my account, I will consider suggestions for how I might add to this app. I am no expert in java, but can probably handle tabbed navigation, or swipe screens, to different purposes. I will think about this, and consider ideas. The beauty of it is that it will add almost nothing to the weight of the app itself, because all resources are accessed via browser, youtube, whatever. To be clear, I do not want to recreate bilgerryan's fine work with the one stop shop. That's not happening. If I expand on this it will be within parameters... Might just fine tune and keep it the simple app I intended it to be too.
(4) Who is downloading this thing? Lol. You 90+ people, please give me quick feedback. :good:

You're playing around with the test build of my ROM, and putting in the apps that you want. Just my app here? It works for any deodexed stock GB27 TW ROM, of which JV is one. The app is essentially a file repo - all the stock ROM apps. You like the inverted and themed apps, so you probably wouldn't need this app of mine. It's just a way to get stock apps that are missing from any one custom ROM, without a developer having to keep a bunch of the stock apps in the ROM. Win win. I might add to this app somewhat, or I might make a second app with other ideas, both apps being made primarily for my build-a-rom project.
ROM Toolbox ("RTB") is, I think, one of the most valuable apps out there. It's good to use with any ROM and has a lot of useful features.

[ROM][TW][GB27] build-a-rom 6/30/13 [deodexed][4.1.2]

build-a-rom
This is not a daily driver. If you have never been on a TW JB deodexed stock ROM, then this is not for you. Flashing this ROM will boot up to the following stock, unmodified apps as packaged by Sprint: If it is not listed here then it is not included:
Phone, Contacts, Settings, Internet, Sprint Hotspot, Play Store.
Also included are ROM Toolbox Lite (jrummy), SuperSU (chainfire), and erikalin-stock app. This ROM flashes Agat63’s v1.3.0 kernel, and it has the boot animation from the S3, sound removed.
The pure Stock GB27 TW ROM zip is 507MB. Build-a-ROM is 242MB.
Why try out build-a-rom?
We have always been able to flash the nice custom ROMs on here, flash the mods we like which other people have figured out and packaged into flashable zip files for us, and just enjoy the phone. And you should keep doing that, and click the thanks button all over the place while you do it. Build-a-ROM is for you to give some of this a shot for yourself. There are exactly two stock apk files left in here that you can delete and still boot to a phone, and that is the browser and the play store.
What can I do with build-a-rom?
The work for build-a-rom comes in two categories:
(1) Easy: Installing custom mods and apps that are already available for you. This involves either flashing a prepackaged zip file, or pushing an app into the system/app/ folder, setting permissions to 0644 (RW-R--R--) and rebooting. You can go get whatever mods and apps and tweaks and kernels that you want. I’m not naming any of them because I didn’t include any of them. You know what they are. Go nuts. Make sure they are made for deodexed GB27 TW ROM for our device. There’s nothing in the way here. It’s a blank slate. If you don’t know how to do these things, use the site search. There are a zillion guides of people telling how to push an app into the system partition, set permissions, and reboot. And flashable zips are flashed in recovery. The recovery in build-a-rom is fine for flashing mods. Wipe cache, wipe dalvik cache, flash one mod per session to be safe, reboot.
(2) Do the first part first. This is a little more advanced but still not difficult. Learn how to decompile and recompile apk files. There are easy-to-use & free programs that allow you to do so. I just typed: "how to decompile apk files” (without quotes) into xda search and got 92,400 results. The benefit of learning these basic tools is that you can then follow the guides on xda. You know all of those things we’re used to having automatically in a custom ROM? ... tabbed settings, extended power menu, transparent things, hacked things, colored things, pretty toggles… etc etc... you can make them, and a lot more, by hand on your own. There are guides. You don't have to beg someone else to make the mod you want for you. You don’t even have to figure it out. You literally copy-and-paste from the guides in which other people have figured out & explained exactly what to modify. No, it’s not “development” but it’s something to feel like an accomplishment you can be proud of.
Want transparent stock toggles? Want to rearrange them? Want to put your toggles down on the bottom of your pull-down and use the top space for notifications? Search XDA for the guides. These are quick mods... You'll be amazed at what you can do. You can build this up to 100% your dream ROM – starting from a blank slate so you can feel good about the end result.
Thanks @kobridge – for pure stock GB27 deodexed ROM as base: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?p=38923705#post38923705
@tdunham – for the guide on how to make the extended power menu. Check it out. This is a model for what I’m talking about with how clear and straightforward a guide can be: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2125196. This is the one modification I think I left in here for the version of build-a-rom that I am sharing.
@g_ding84 – for suggestions and being nice
@bigmike6200 – for testing earlier version of build-a-rom
@agat63 – for kernel http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2244781
@bilgerryan – for modeling how to click the thanks button appropriately
crawrj - for hacked native hotspot, used with permission (if this is included - I need someone to verify that this ended up in this build or not)
Why say thanks?
Can you even guess at how many people have downloaded and used noobnl’s EL29 direct boot to CWM zip?? It's probably well over 10,000. There are 40 thanks on that post. Ridiculous. And tdunham’s JB Format All X 2 zip?? At the time of my typing this, there are 7454 downloads of that script, and 125 thanks. Also ridiculous. So many people give so many hours of their time making things for us to enjoy. Click the buttons, folks, please.
Install instructions
- Flash at your own risk. I am not responsible for your choices. Etc.
- Make a backup.
- Before you do anything further please read my disclaimer below.
- Directboot into EL29 CWM recovery. Thank noobnl: here.
- Flash tdunham’s JB.Format_All_X2.zip. Thank tdunham here
- Flash BAR-V1.0.zip.
- Reboot
Disclaimer: The mods and apps and guides and tutorials on XDA are everywhere. Use the site search. I cannot possibly answer your questions on implementing any of those changes. Some of those guides have hundreds of posts of Q&A for just one certain modification. Read them. I assure you that whatever question or problem you have, it's addressed already on xda. Search and read. I’m giving you a stable blank slate called build-a-rom. It comes with nine apps and it works. You take it from here. I want to be clear upfront what I can and cannot support. I can support this ROM, which is build-a-rom and its nine apps. So, for example, if you have a question about how to make a phone call, ask. The building part is really up to you. Browse XDA. The amount of information is astounding... If you’re not sure what you’re doing, then don’t use build-a-rom. If I knew all the answers to all of your questions, I’d answer them. I don’t.

First. Looks fun. I continued my modeling lol.
Just gonna say, this will make a great base for anyone wanting to (dare I say) build a ROM to release (always ask permission first). And with it only being 242 MB it leaves a little room to play.
@erikalin might wanna add a note in there that EL29 can't flash modems and to flash the JB modem after boot if not already on one.

Thanks. ^ Yeah, I intentionally started the OP with, "If you have never been on a TW JB deodexed stock ROM, then this is not for you," to cover that sort of thing. It would make a good base. There's a ton of room. I just listed my E4GT on swappa, so this is all from me... Rooting my new-to-me S3 as we type.

The S3 is nice. But sad to see a valuable member moving on.

Yeah I'm gonna try using it to see how close I can get to fully porting Xperia Z stock to TouchWiz.

Not promising anything, but I'm thinking of ditching 3Minit and go with a full on Xposed XPERIAnce (pun intended). Takes up a lot less space and has some different features (like using AOSP Themes on TouchWiz)

Hi, bigmike6200,
What is it about transparent apps that attracts? All of team blackout stuff works on JD's ROM, so I'd imagine they'd work on this gem. Their paid app is worth the two bucks.
Beyon a few nuggets from the GS2 international version, I've tried to find what I can, and most seems attached to Omega and similar ROMS. Once taken out, they don't work in isolation. Even the older items created by current team blackout members are gone. I managed to get Speed Test and a few others, but now the links are dead. Would love stock SMS, calculator, etc.
Time for me to learn this process.
Congrats, Erika, and thanks for this and all you've done.

Of course - inverted/transparent apps are good. Install according to however the person who modded it says for each one one.

I'm not bigmike, but I have to say that I love transparent everything. I made almost 40 build-a-rom projects for myself, starting from essentially the version 1.0 I have shared here each time, and trying different things out. In some of them I made everything transparent, although I did learn that semi transparent is often what is necessary. Making the backs of the stock toggles themselves transparent too was fun. There's something pleasing about the transparency and, for me, neon green #ff00ff00. I colored all the stock system app icons with my neon green too, etc. :good: Anyway, micmars, you will learn and invert the stock system apps to share. Cheers, bud!
Thanks!

You, also, Erika! Thanks for the encouragement. I think I found a lot of slimeball themed apps in one of the members of TBO's threads. Have to agree on the semi transparent observation. The Speed Test app to which I referred looks way better in the semi transparent variant.
Cheers,
Mike

Sorry, bud, but I'm not sure whether you meant to ask a question or just make this statement? If you meant to ask a question, feel free to reply back. To take a guess at it: build-a-rom comes with nine apps, and gallery isn't one of them. You'd need that. Or if this is a metro pcs thing, I don't know anything about Metro PCS. Try here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1912451
Edit:
Can someone check this out?
If somebody can check this out for me. because I already wiped and packed up my E4GT:
Is the Sprint hotspot app in here crawrj's hacked hotspot or Sprint stock? I *had asked and received* permission to include crawrj's hacked hotspot but I had decided that I didn't want to include it in this base after all. But... did I forget to take it back out before uploaded? Lol... If someone can let me know that'd be great. I'll modify the OP pending a confirmation on this... Thanks X 3.

Thank you for the reply. Yes, I noticed the rom don't come with message so I try to use Epic4gtouch-jbfk23-metropcs-mms-fix-signed but it didn't give me the option to attach a pic. Any help will be appreciated. Newbie here.

You might want to just go with another rom. That's not meant to sound unwelcoming, lol, not at all. But it's intentional that this ROM is empty. It's for folks who want to build it from a blank slate. Like I said I don't know how metropcs works so I have no idea what works for you. But stuff isn't in here for a reason. That's why I put in the OP that if you're new to JB TW this probably isn't the rom for you... This isn't a slim rom. It's an incomplete rom. You know?
