Is there any app or lockscreen I can install over the default one to get the controls?
i think its imposible. But you can install widget locker. With this program you can add a widget to your lockscree

Go Locker has music controls and a lockscreen you can customize. Its on the Play Store for the amazing price of FREE
You need to install Go Launcher to use it though (which I highly recommend)

I kind of prefer to stock launcher, is there no other way to do it other than getting something like widgerlocker or go launcher?

I tried widgetlocker. But it won't work for me. It doesn't replace my lockscreen it just adds to it. While I can get music controls, it makes it a pain in the ass to use. Once I slide the widget locker slider, my default unlock slider comes up, THEN my unlock pattern. So it's a real pain.

I tried Go Launcher, works great, but it's having the OPPOSITE problem of WidgetLocker, where it doesn't goto my unlock pattern screen at all, it just goes straight to my homescreen. I checked and my unlock pattern is still set to be used, Go Launcher just bypasses it.
Does anyone have any ideas?

U should get widget locker... and then u can customize what ever you want on your lock screen..

Let me test, your talking about the stock music player right?
It doesnt look like there is a widget for that however, with widget locker you can make it so your pull down menu work while locked so i guess you could put the music player shortcut on the lockscreen then use the player controls in the notification bar while locked..
Unless you find a music widget..
Ok there is a music widget on the market for free and you are able to put that on the lockscreen galaxy s musci widget.
yeah or the MIUI player. I was also wonder how much work it would be to modify the MIUI music widget to be completely clear except for the album art and controls

Ok i got galaxy s music widget off the market and widget locker and it works perfectly stock music player.
Does miui music player have a widget if so then it will work with widget locker.

Yeah I just got widget locker and it works great, now I just dont like the way the music widget looks with my set-up hahaha. Do you have any knowledge on modifying the widget in the apk?

What do u want done with it? Im sorry i cant do it but maybe pm mysterysemotionz, he is an awesome themer and can modify it for you, considering he uses that in his theme he might be able to help.
If you however just want it transparent the Galaxy s Music Player Widget Has A Few Options To Change It, kinda cool, but if you dont want to use the stock music player then talk to mysterysemotionz.

Hmm, AFAIK, there's no other choice than install an additional locker app.
If you mean you don't want to buy Widget Locker as your additional app, then there are a few free and amazing lock apps on the Market/Google Play, like Go Locker and MiLocker. You should go try it.

I am running 4.1.c.0.7 ( rooted) and DoomLord kernel v4. The thing I don't like is that on ICS lockscreen they added the camera shortcut instead of ring/vibrate shortcut.
Is there a way to change only the lockscreen ? I would be happy with the old one (GB stock) even if it does not have music player controls.

You can try Go locker. I used it for awhile. Its free and it has alot of different lockscreens
you can use go locker (free) or Widget Locker (I don"t remember the price but he is not free)
Thanks for the suggestions. I tried Go Locker but it does not fell right , it's not integrated with the launcher ( design wise) and looks like it's more suitable for Samsung.
Widget Locker is about 2.2 Euros , maybe I will try it , but all I really want is the ring/vibrate slide button instead of camera ...
Simple apps, awesome lockscreens!
1. Holo Locker
I believe most of you know about it.
It's light and very easy to use. But only one pattern is available and it overrides any stock password/pattern!
2. WidgetLocker Lockscreen
This is the most amazing app i have ever seen. Highly customizable with many formats and allows using applications/widgets on the lockscreen! It also allows to apply two lockscreen pattern on one screen!:laugh:
3. Lockbot
Lockbot is also very nice and customizable lockscreen app. It allows you create new theme from existing theme!
4. Go Locker
Go Locker is also nice app and has large number of supporting themes available at Google Play
Alternative
But these don't provide any customization in case you have a lockscreen pattern.
If you have rooted your phone then alternatively u can also use uot kitchen.

Both HoloLocker and WidgetLocker lags when waking up the phone after some time inactive. I have never found a lockscreen app that is lag free

I would also like an email widget and calendar widget, maybe something similar to the news widget for the jb lockscreen.

Not without your own personal modding, or flashing something else that has it...
Widget Locker will let you place sliders, widgets, and shortcuts on your lockscreen. I've never tried it with a stock ROM, but see no reason it shouldn't work.
You can find it in the Play store.

Yep, Widget Locker will do a lot of what you're looking for. One tip, go into your lock screen settings (in your phone settings, not in WL settings) and set it to none once you've activated WL. This will keep the odd times when your stock lock screen might appear after unlocking via WL.
