I think sextape is about to drop a bomb on the community...
Why else would we need another el29 tar unless someone plans on releasing the new ota to ICS....
Edit: Looks like this is flashable from Mobile Odin.

When source is released is that the same as the update zip file which sprint will push? I see zip files next to each build on Samsung open source website.

I was just thinking by the time OTA hits it's going to be so anti-climactic after the flashing whirlwind of the past few months. Don't get me wrong I'm seriously ready for it to drop but then it's gonna be like, "what's next?". God help us if the jellybean countdown begins immediately after. I don't think I can take it. lol

Devs only. This is just source code.
one thing that sammy does right is they release source code very quickly, considerably quicker than htc.
Well this update is not that bad. Definitely a better modem.

if there was a device profile for you guys id compile nightlies for ya, however im not gunna take each nightly and edit it after compiling for use with us cellular, sorry i dont have that kind of time. if you had a device profile like this https://github.com/EpicCM/android_device_samsung_epic4gtouch then i could merge it in and add it to my build script, would take it maybe 20 mins extra to make it :/
my suggestion is to get a modified device repo going and then you could have a from source build
Downloading 6/19... so I just flash this straight over 6/18 from recovery? Should I wipe everything beforehand????
Sent from my SPH-D710 using xda premium
Looks like the nightly is done uploading. ~35 downloads while the md5 was still changing (good half a dozen were mine) ;-)
Sorry if I ask this....might be common knowledge, oh well. I'm on 6-18 nightly atm, if I want to update to 6-19 (I'm already using goo.im from the play store, and already dl the rom) can I just use the included safe CW from 6-18 to flash? If so, After flashing do I need to do anything else? Thanks again for the help..

OTA Root Question

Good Morning, I am running the latest wicked sensations and I just got a notice that there is an update available for system enhancements. It says something about FI27. What is this about?? Do I do the update? Will it even work? Is it going to cause any problems?
Thanks!!!

Your question is a little crazy in the sense of this is a development forum where most people have there phone rooted and probably have been running FI27 for a while now... With that said "will it work" is confusing will what work the update of course it will work thats why they are putting it out. "Is it going to cause any problems" what problems are you referring to? Will it mess up your rooted phone yes it will, will it take away your themes if you have any yes it will... Will it blow your stock Epic Touch up no it will not... It will basically fix some issues they have found in your present build
With all that said man just update if you want to or don't either way you will be ok
Lol what he said ^

Seeing how your running FH13 based (as wicked sensations V1.6 is) the update most likely will not work...Fail. Due to custom kernel and if you have the core sprint bloat ware apps deleted. There is one-click rooted odin or you could just flash a FI27 rooted ROM in recovery.
Link: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1930950
ROM flash in recovery need zip file
.tar file use odin under the PDA slot
If you like your current rom you can also just wait for your rom maintainer to update the base or there is an OTA zip file (link posted above) and tar file out there that can be used to stop the nagging OTA notifications

Thanks go to the following:
- sfhub for the original information
- sextape for FL04 stock restore
- rwilco12 for advice and hosting
- rainmotorsports, dev-host for hosting
- Forum Members for their support and hopefully feedback on these builds!
Make sure you give them any thanks for this build - they did far more than I on this! :highfive:
This is a match of sextape's FL04 stock restore with only root added to applicable packages.
This means it should behave completely as if it is stock or released by either OTA/Kies.
Here's the link! Enjoy and Happy Friday!!
Ummm I guess Its FL04. You gotta edit the title bro.

Remember... if you like the work please donate to Team Sextape! Next on our list is possibly a GN2 for me... but since my MVNO doesn't carry it I'm looking at full price for one :crying:
Might make the jump to Sprint to lighten that but a lot happened this week and not sure if I can fiscally support that for a while.

2. I pieced together a flashable zip of agats fk23 repack, and replaced the update binary from an sg3 flashable zip and the kernel WORKS PERFECTLY ON FL04 guys n gals.. i flashed a zip and restored a backup with no issues..again fk23 recovery works on fl04, and the sg3 binary seems to have solved most of the kernel issues
