[Q] Screen off policy - HTC One X

Guys,
My company-policy makes me use a pin code to unlock the phone. In the past I used a screen off and lock app. There I used to check permissions for screen off...
so when I touched the icon, the screen would turn of and locked the phone.
Since ICS it seems to clash with my exchange policy, leaving me to enter my pincode EVERY time I unlock the phone while I've set my exchange policy on 10 minutes...
So I thought to use another screen off app, but it seems those apps have a delay (something about ics security). This could lead to pressing the soft buttons and waking the device in the 5 seconds (or so) delay.
Three questions:
1. Is it possible to have the two policies (exchange and screen off and lock) next to eachother without having to enter the pin every single time?
2. Is there an app which doesn't have the delay?
3. Is it possible to adjust a value or something to cut the delay?
many thanks in advance!

HTC Desire lock screen issue

Hi All
I would like to get your opinion and solution (if exist).
I configured company exchange mail on the HTC Desire, the exchange policy requires password lock which configured to maxim time 30 mins.
The problem is:
1. When i press on the power button to lock the screen, it locks the screen (turning off the screen) , but when i press again on power button to open the screen, it always asking for password (even after 1 minute).
In addition when i am making calls and finish the call by pressing on the "RED" button, it locks the phone again.
The question is:
If there any way i can disable the lock screen with password, or at least lock the screen for 30 mins without asking for password, only if it's idle for 30 mins then ask for password.
I read some stuff around and some suggest lockscreen disabler from andoroid market, for some reason i can not find it in the store.
Thanks for the assistance.
I would like to know this too. I configured my work exchange account then got so fed up with that poxy lock I removed the account after 10 mins!
i think i saw somewhere this, the solution would be installing app called lockpick or something like that. search this forum, about exact same issue, you will find it cheers

I use Autolock for this. Search for it on the Market.

I am using the Autolock too , in order to lock the device after some time. But the strange issue now, that when the phone is locked it asking to draw the patern instead of password as requested before ( Lock Picker is disabled the Exchange password).
The question where i can change the pattern ( Settings -> Security) i have change password only but not the pattern.
Thanks for the assistance.
i need something to disable the screen lock. these only disable the locking code thing!
Any ideas?!

Hi guys , do u know if this app consumes how much battery ??
In addition when i am making calls and finish the call by pressing on the "RED" button, it locks the phone again.

Yep, and that annoys me also without Exchange account enabled (pattern instead of password in this case).
This might help someone. I use Lock Delay because I wanted the screen to go off and place the device in standby after 2 mins but I didn't want the lock to enable on doing so every 2 mins.
With this app, I set the phone to go into standby every 2 mins but the lock/pattern to appear only after 10 mins in idle. It works perfectly.
Secondly, when the screen is off but not locked for those 10 mins, I can bring the screen back on by pressing any key.

normal Lock Screen vs Locked Lock Screen behavior & trigger

I just want to get this straight because I actually thought the encryption settings on the phone were leading to the wonky behavior I noticed about the standard swipe away lock screen and a protected (PIN or whatever) lock screen... that led me to waste hours while the phone encrypted & then eventually screwed up during the decryption of my memory card.
Basically, the standard unprotected lock screen can just be wiped away - everyone knows that. But on every Android device I've owned up to this one (Hero, EVO, Nexus S, Photon, Evo 3D) when you set up a password lock you can set how long a time period passes before that actually kicks in. It seemed like this phone was no different, at first. I mean, there's a timer setting under the password lock options.
However, what I've been able to figure out is (and mentioned in another thread) the moment you set a password protected lock screen it replaces the standard swipe away lock screen all together. For reference, on other phones even if the password lock is triggered, when you turn on the phone the first thing you see is your standard lock screen and whatever information you have there - if you choose to swipe that away the lock screen you actually have to unlock is there. One of the reasons I don't like the implementation on this GS2 is because I actually like the large easy-to-glance clock and information on the lock screen (and missed call, msgs updates, etc). However, that's besides the point, which is that there's a setting for the password lock Timeout - which is screwy because it only takes effect if your screen turns itself off (on the timer set in the normal display screen timeout settings). If you turn the phone off yourself, the password protected lock screen is activated immediately.
I've found that having a 1-2 minute screen timeout is perfect because it lets me either be distracted for a bit while I do stuff on the phone (watch tv?) or try to show someone something on the phone without having to worry about it turning off on them. Normally it's not a problem because I instinctively turn off the screen myself when I'm done using it. In the few days I've had this phone I don't WANT to turn it off because I know I'll have to unlock it again. I usually love the security of a password lock but this seems inconvenient and, well, stupid.
So no password lock = lockscreen with useful information at a glance.
Set up a password lock = ^^ useful screen gone.
Password lock timeout only applies to the screen auto-shutoff = if you manually shut off your screen you HAVE to unlock it even if you turn it on a moment later.
I haven't really seen anyone say anything about this and I guess I'm a bit surprised by that. Again, one of the first things I did when I got the phone was transfer a larger capacity memory card to it that had a number or picture albums and movie transfers to it - then during the time I set up the phone I chose to set up a password lock, then encrypt it (took about 5 or 6 hours!). Since I did these things back to back I thought the encryption was the reason I had to unlock the phone almost every single time I turned it back on. It was only after I was playing with the settings (and eventually had to hard reset when the decryption process screwed up) that I see it didn't really have to do much with that at all. Well, aside from the fact that encryption requires a password lock, which leads to this whole thing. So anyway, yeah - that's like one of my only complaints about an otherwise killer device.
I'm gonna look into the framework when I get home. I remember seeing a bunch of lockscreen settings and triggers. Maybe its just a matter of changing a "true" to a "false"

[Q] My screen locks too often (requiring pattern or pin very often). Why?

I'm curious if anyone else has had this issue. I have to enable a PIN or pattern lock to allow a corporate secure wifi network setting to be saved and for something else (I think for my bank app). From the G4 settings it seems like you can set it to NOT lock when turning off with power button (last option), and a 30 minute timeout before it auto-locks. Yet despite that, mine still seems to lock requiring a pattern input and not just a swipe if I leave it on the table for just a minute. What am I missing?
Thanks all!

These settings are under Lockscreen. Right at the end. It should work, unless you have another app controlling locking.
Exactly.. it "should work"... but it isn't. It insist on locking all the time.. Could the fact that I"m connected to said secure WIFI cause that?? (vs just having an entry for it)
You could try going under the setting for Security - Phone administrators. Look if there is something that is controlling phone lock.
I know for my example, I must enable PIN locking, but my phone administrator for that account enables up to 30 minutes before forcing lock. So as long as I uncheck the setting for "Lock phone immediately on power button," my phone will immediately be unlocked within a 30 minute window where I don't need to enter my PIN.

Right, that's what I'm going for / expecting. I have 3 in there, Android Device Manager, Support & Protection (Verizon thing it looks like) and AirDroid. Only Android Device Managers is checked ON. ADM can obviously affect the lock screen and can change the lock password, but I don't see anything else which would affect this timeout being ignored. hmmmm
(Thanks, BTW!)
I was looking at my Smart Lock section and read the blurb about On-body detection, which was the only Smart Lock I had enabled. It says "Just unlock once and your device stays unlocked as long as you keep holding your device or carry it on you." .... "Your device will lock when it detects that it's been set down"..!! So, I've now turned on-body detection OFF as, in this case, it's working against me. Seems it's not too well integrated with the other options (ignores the Security Lock Timer).
If I don't post back, it's probably working as hoped.
Disabling on-body detection has definitely solved my issue with the G4 locking shortly after setting it down on the desk.

Not amused about swiping 2 times a lockscreen for entering the phone

Hey,
One Question. I have the problem that if i create a screenlock (like the PIN) i also have to swipe after entering the PIN one more time. So i allways have to unlock to screens, befor getting to the homescreen. If i set the lockscreen time to 5 min, i also have to swipe away the lockscreen when turning on the screen. In Android 4 i just had to enter my PIN and i direktly came to the homescreen or if i was in the 5 min timelimit i didnĀ“t had to unlock anyway. Is there a way to use the PIN-entry without swiping after this a secound time the screen.
Thanks.
I use a PIN and my phone does not behave that way. Is this a customized phone? Mine is Sprint. If my phone is locked and I enter my pin, the phone goes directly to whatever was on my screen prior to locking, no need to swipe again. If I'm unlocked, my phone doesn't show the pin and I don't need to swipe, it just goes directly to usable phone.
Works normally for me as well no matter which setting I use.
Are you sure it's not caused by some 3rd party app? (I think power amp does something with lock screens)

Why does it seem like my Lock Screen only works half the time? Not on trusted network

It seems like half the time when I unlock my phone (not using fingerprint), the lock screen won't be there. Is it based on a time-out feature? I'd like to have it there 100% of the time.
The phone isn't connected to any trusted networks or whatever HTC/android calls it that disables the lock screen.
Not sure all I know is when you use a password or fingerprint you can set how often you want it to lock
If you go into Settings then Security there are options for how long the screen is off before it automatically locks, it's set ridiculously high stock, at least for me. There is also an option in there to make the power button instantly lock, which is off by default. This drove me crazy too.
