[GUIDE] How NOT to behave in a development forum (or any forum at all) - G2 and Desire Z Android Development

Now redundant........

It would appear that there are a few people who are unfamiliar with how to properly use XDA. XDA is a development forum primarily for developers, not petulant children with an inflated sense of entitlement who lack the mental capacity to even string together a coherent sentence.

If you find yourself tempted to post something that is in any way similar to the ramblings of these two mouth breathing cretins then please reconsider. Perhaps it's time to beat a path through all the used Kleenex and discarded microwave burrito wrappers, step outside of your parents basement for a few minutes and get some fresh air. Enjoy the feeling of the sun on your face and try to remember what it feels likes to think and act like a reasonable human being with at least two connected braincells. Posts such as those above serve absolutely no purpose except to reaffirm the notion that you are nothing more than a vile, subhuman moron with the intellect of a lobotomised baboon they are also a pretty clear indication that you should be removed from the gene pool at the earliest possible opportunity, for the good of the species.
If this is not applicable, if you are a fully grown adult and not an angst ridden teenager who dwells in their parents basement then I'm sorry, however it is my duty to tell you that it is already too late for you. You have failed at life.
Although I fully understand your need to "stick it to the man" and let us forum Nazis know just how completely out of order we are by trying to keep this place organised for those users who, dare I say it, are here for the development. I can assure you that for every one person who might get a kick from your little act of defiance there are another ten who will be slightly amused at your lack of intelligence and get a few giggles from your nonsensical gibberish, before coming to the conclusion that it was a sad day for the human race when you were brought into this world.
Once again, this is a development forum, not a playground. If you wish to troll and create drama then head on over to 4chan and spare the rest of us your bull****. Thankyou.

Question for somebody running an Undervolted kernel

Can you try using Google Maps with GPS, something using a lot of cell data, and making/receiving a phone call all at the same time?
I have a hypothesis that some combination of heavy use of the Qualcomm chip causes it to crash when undervolted
I am starting to think the admin should give people like this one warning and then start implementing temporary bans.
The title of your thread starts with the word "Question," and you didn't think this belongs in the forum with "Q&A" in its title. Really?

About 14 years ago when I started using Internet forums, I got flamed pretty hard for posting questions to stuff that was already answered. And for the rest of my life, I have gotten SO MUCH MORE out of every forum I ever visit by knowing to search first, post in the proper forum, etc. It seems Android forums have a "100% tolerant" attitude which, in the long run, cripples the forums and makes them harder to use, and reduces the useful-info-to-clutter ratio tremendously.
Answering people's questions that have been asked and answered hundreds or thousands of times before does not help them! Give a man a fish, he'll eat for a day, team him to fish and he'll eat for the rest of his life...
SEARCH THE FREAKING FORUMS, people, and POST IN THE PROPER FORUMS!
Oh, what am I doing. My post here won't make a lick of difference anyway

At least answer him. Being a jerk isn't any better.

Answering him encourages this kind of behavior. If you can get away with it with only a small warning, why not do it?

[Q] first timer rom, and problems

I used Rom manager with DamageControlv3.1.2-deodexed.
Took forever to reboot, and had to shut down to finally reboot.
Many processes are stopping unexpectedly, I have no phone dial pad.
what next ??

hmmmmmmm, you start off your thread with a "q" and i can only assume it stands for question. In the evo section we have a section called Q+A....
No offense to the op, but i wish they gave an aptitude test before selling a smartphone. Or at least XDA should implement one before allowing registration?
But to answer your question, just reflash the rom, or another. the rom your using is pretty ancient anyways. Try virus or the new two point two rom. Either is excellent. If you want aosp, go cyan.

Alot of times when you flash a rom it takes a few minutes to initially boot up after you flash. Next time let it sit for like up to 7-10 minutes and see what happens. You might think its locked up or whatever, but its really building the cache and getting things ready for you.
Sorry these other kids has to act like idiots. Seems they all think they are moderators....just ignore the trolls and you will be ok.

I tire of seeing threads like this posted in these forums. They used to be a good place to actually have intelligent conversations and get relevant information, but now I see threads like this popping up all over the place.
First of all, if you're going to post a thread, PLEASE try to make sure you post it with much better spelling and grammar. If you have to simply take a second and check if it's correct then please do so. I have enough respect for the the posters here (their time, and sanity) to make sure my posts are not only readable, but also make sense, and I'd hope that others here do the same.
Second of all, it's somewhat hard to intentionally brick your device now a days, but NO you shouldn't. It's your fault you dropped it, so suck it up and deal with the consequences. Let Sprint actually put money where they need to (I.E. their coverage) and stop taking advantage of them for things that are your own fault.

MODS, can you get rid of this ridiculous thread??
XDA does not condone unethical practices, nor does it condone idiots who try and cheat and for all intents and purposes, steal.

What I should write more - nothing. You have to read this:
Software piracy has become an extremely controversial subject lately. We all know SOPA and PIPA. But when it comes down to the very personal scale of app development, one must question the true wrongdoing in obtaining free software. We have debated this internally at WPH, and while our major developers have voted against it, the new blood here has decided to make a modest proposal. Leave it to the hands of the users.
We've heard many arguments against obtaining cracked applications, all of which are erroneous. Some claim it hurts homebrew, and has resulted in the extreme locking down of the WP7 operating system. Others claim it robs developers who spend hours developing, and takes away from the income of not large, greedy corporations, but rather, personal developers who may have families to support, or education to fund. Others claim it is just morally wrong, and shows a degrading of character when something so cheap is still seen unworthy of personal dimes.
This application is subject to the disclaimer that you use it under your own moral obligations and local laws. Essentially, this application installs a DRM store to your phone that causes the Marketplace to unlock all trial applications, and circumvent charging users for purchases. It's easy and effective. We can't say we support it, and don't know how long it will be until Microsoft patches it, as they are historically very quick and organized in bug fix updates.

Take it easy algorhythm. That may have been for the I9100, but this is for the Telus (and presumably Koodo) T989D: http://www.telusmobility.com/en/ON/Software-Updates/schedule.shtml
Pretty sure someone already linked this via MobileSyrup. The schedule does only indicate the "expected" date (Feb. 2013) , but 4.1 is nearer than ever before - maybe less than a month away.
