Amazing new cases from Belkin - Galaxy S III Accessories

Belkin has some amazing looking cases for the Samsung Galaxy S III. It seems the dimensions on the international and LTE/2GB/ versions are the same, making it easy to select your favorite case. Here are some of my favorites:

this thread was for the community, there is no need to be negative about it. only one case was pictured which is obviously overshadowed by a bunch of others. you don't need to make a useless comment.

useless comment?
Should we make a new thread for each of those cases in that thread since technically they are over shadowed by others as well?

I got to agree, it's about keeping the forums clean. But then again not all people thinks that way. Sad part is that this always happens. How would it look if everyone made a topic about a case or pouch they found and i think it's going to be alot for this phone? So why not keep it in one topic? Maybe get the mods to merge the topics.
It could be my ocd talking but it's my opinion.

1. this is a ****ing accessories subforum. deal with it.
2. there are ~20 other threads pertaining a case for sgs3. ya better go post on those too

Thanks for the case news.
This is sub-forum for Galaxy S3 accessory. This post is about Belkin case. Is this logical that all cases news put into a single post in order to keep this sub-forum clean?

If all the cases needs to go into one single thread, then the same should be done for custom ROMs too, only one thread instead of one thread per ROM, no? That would be awesome, yeah?
I don't want to scroll through a post with 769 pages to look for a nice case. I think it's better to have individual threads.

[REQ] Dialer themed like payphone

I am surprised nobody has done this yet...but how about a Dialer that looks like the keypad on a public phone?
This is a screenie from one that was done for the iPhone. If I knew more about the structure of an APK, and how the images were, I would try it myself.

This sounds like a similar request someone made sometime ago, I'll have to look for it because I remember someone made it.
I could do it. I've done lots of phone skins back in my WinMobile days. But I have a great fear that if I did, it would catch on like the incredibly stupid 70's flip clock. Can you imagine anything more ignorant than making a beautiful and versatile digital device look like a completely mechanical and annoying piece of counter technology from the 60's and 70's. The only thing worse would be nixie tubes. Yes, I have seen the nixie tube clock skins. Thank God that did not catch on...
This would be cool =]
I actually looked into skinning the phone. It's not as simple as replacing some .png files. It would require quite a bit more work. Sorry dude, not for me.

Well put. Rest assured there are some of us who do appreciate your work and the work of the many others out there. In fact, it's largely due to many of those ungrateful children that I spend very little of my time on XDA any more. Thank you, I appreciate everyone's work, regardless of if it's my taste or not. The effort everyone puts in to do their own things, is what has made out little Android grow into what we can do today. Ive also found the same, I'd rather use twitter to find stuff out.
Okay, as the OP here, I think it is well within my right to say that this tread has veered WAY off course of its original intention, heh. It was not my intent to have a flame war start, even if it was mildly entertaining for a few minutes
Anyways, for the dev's that have been kind enough to contribute to this discussion: I have used 99% of the ROMs available for the G1, and I thank each and every one of you for your hard work. It is greatly appreciated by more people that I am sure you had ever imagined. Keep up the good work.
Now, back on topic. A refresher:

Everyone, I can not find a leather case with a built in bluetooth keyboard anywhere. Am I the only one looking for such a thing? The only things I have found after scouring is below. The first one would do but you have to buy in bulk.

I was looking for the same thing. Give it some time. Companies don't want to release accessories for products that might not make it to the mass consumer. I'll keep my eyes peeled as well. Did you check the other posts about cases?

Hey! Do you have any update on the case?
I found this on amazon, but of course it's for the iPad2... I sent an email to the seller asking if a Xoom version is planned. That might fit into a netbook bag still.
This is exactly what I am looking for. I have looked every where but haven't found anything yet. I'll post when I find something.
Gonna get involved in this post too since I've been looking for one. Emailed a couple manufacturers for current ipad keyboard cases but no resppnse yet.

Yeah, I get the feeling they don't care about a few hundred to a thousand Xoom users when they have hundreds of times the users with iPads... However, the first one brave enough to make a good quality case might get all the business!
This is what I'm waiting for, but I might return my Xoom if one doesn't come out soon or if some other easily portable keyboard solution isn't available. If that happens, I'll just get the Asus Transformer.

This way is so simple. make a US SGSIII forum that's universal that everyone would use, and have the individual forums for carrier specific questions/comments.
we can minimize the forums we don't use/need with that "minus" sign on the right hand side.
i'm tired of going to the sprint forums, the Verizon forums looking for something i need. most of the questions and threads we have are universal among all carriers, (google wallet for example). it just makes so much sense this way, and is much easier to navigate.
i don't understand why there is so much resistance to make the forums this way. it just looks much cleaner this way.
does anyone here agree? or am i alone in this? and now i'd have to post this in every sub-section to get everyone's opinion. but I'm not gonna bother doing that.

You could sort by carrier or by phone. Depending on how you are looking for something, one way is better than the other. Sometimes neither works well. I don't envy the people who have to decide how to organize this forum, but I think it was done with a phone model specific focus as development is done per device. A device is sold across many carriers.
That's how I sees it.

what's confusing about it?
1. it shows the main sgs3 forum on the top, and then it branches to the carriers.
2. the arrows show where the +/- buttons are to collapse and expand.
3. the big x's show that is unnecessary. since they are in the main sgs3 section.
4. i even color-coded it to make it easier to understand.
--- that's all there is to it.
We had one. People complained. It was split up again. Used to be unique forums like now. Then people complained and it was put together. Now people are complaining again
Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2
There really is no good solution for this. So many carriers with virtually the same specs, but just enough to be different. And to complicate matters, the accessories are the same.
That said, I myself am not real happy with the way it's put together. Info that I can use isn't always getting to the Tmo area I'm thinking. Making it carrier specific ensures this. But I can't think of any better solutions.
I'll also say that I think the mods are doing a pretty good job. And I love the tone here. Some of the other phones areas can get pretty ugly.
Part of the problem is that users here post so many bs threads and posts. That and the duplicate threads really make for a bit of chaos. We have a great "tricks and tips" thread but people make their own posts. Battery threads (etc) too. That will never change LOL.
I liked them combined. Plan and simple. People on other carriers run into issues i would like to see, instead of going and searching 4 other forums..

but if you notice, this way depicted in the picture above, there will be a combined/split up portion. catering to both audiences and eliminating 4 of the same topics in different sub-forums. i understand that people complain if it's split up, and people complain if it's combined. this does both so it would eliminate complaining, and it would eliminate 4 threads of the same topic in each carrier forum. but it would allow carrier-specific questions to be put in their places.

Then you are going to wind up with a whole lot of bricked devices. Some people will try and use something that don't belong to their brand.

best/most reliable/most updated kernel

So I've noticed there are a ton of kernels out there for the GN, and I know you can't exactly say which is best...but I'm looking for the one that has the most support or is the most stable right now. I just got mine a couple days ago, so I'm looking to root and ROM it (no stranger to android or rooting/ROMing) and I figured those in the community would be able to tell me which ones are basically dead and which ones are not.
Thanks in advance!
There is no best they are all reliable and all updated. Pick one or stay stock.

Haha well that's a first. Most of my previous devices had only 1 or 2 main kernels that were constantly kept up to date, and the others were just attempts to make one, or ones that went defunct.

mods can we start issuing bans for these threads?
Trinity and Franco have a lot of users and their threads are very active - should be able to sort out any issues you might have. Also both kernel devs are pretty active in the threads as well. And both have choices of extremely stable builds as well as experimental ones for the more adventurous. Try out each for a week or so and you'll get a good idea. There are others too, obviously, like Lean and Air Kernel etc but I've spent the most time with the afore mentioned so I can't speak for the others. I'm currently on Trinity 1536/384-stable35 and I can honestly say its been going wonderfully well.

id rather have mods ban posts like yours. stop reading these threads and responding in them. you are just making it worse for everyone, not the tread starters. this IS why we have a general section and Q&A. xda search is not reliable enough anyways. imagine how many posts could have been saved by you not responding/not responding in this way. if your going to respond, at least be helpful to the op.
@jdcnosse my preference is for trinity, but both trinity and franco kernel are good, and they are both constantly getting updated. but i suggest you try as many as you can so that you can find one that your device likes the best.

Let's keeps these posts non argumentive and let's keep them informative. I see no issue with them.

+1 on experimentation. If I were to give MY choice. It would be Trinity. I have stuck with it since I got my phone. I've tried a few, but I enjoy Trinity the best. Franco, as stated before, is another good choice. I've used both their kernels on my Nexus S with good results

Seriously thinking of giving the phone back

As I'm within the 28 days to exchange.....I've kind of had it with fancy phones and might go for a cheapy and get most of the money back, they wont like it but hey ho
Cool story bro
EDIT: But seriously, WHY do you hate the phone? I have a One X, I hate the way its designed and the battery life. I don't like the phone but atleast I know WHY I don't like the phone.
Maybe the reasons you don't like it can be fixed with a better ROM or something?

I would - I moved mine on to my wife who isn't fussed about custom/boot images/s-off/super-cid/flashing radios etc
I'm back using my Sensation and that's fancy enough for me for now. For me its better to have my modding freedom back.
And yeah - there is something to be said for saving thr £500 a high end phone costs. The functionality of a Desire C say is really the same at a lot less.
Agree wish I still had my Desire instead of all the risky business that is installing roms.
