I installed this firmware U9200-1 V100R001CHNC00B113(China General), it works for me but still I can't use the googleplay. Android market doesn't support my device and If I installed the googleplay.apk manually it auto closed after 2 seconds.
Do you have any idea how can I use android market on Huawei ascend p1. Thanks.

123hero123, I have exacly the same result. Also, I realized that the root program is only working on Chinese computers (can you confirm that?), because the cmd.exe does not read the Chinese characters.
Did you do the update? It could be that only the old version is rootable.
It's a very nice phone, bought it for around 400$ but without Google and root it's quite useless right now. Hope that more developers are getting interested in this phone

Yes, I installed the new version B113.
JohnnyParanoia shared me the B109 rooted custom rom and it works fine for me, but still can't use the android market, when I installed the googleplay.apk, it is closed after 2 seconds and says that Unfortunately Google Play Store has stopped.

How did you manage to downgrade?
There's a rooted version of B113 by Lesong here (Chinese):
http://bbs.anzhi.com/thread-5222332-1-1.html

With support JohnnyParanoia I can easily installed the B109 rooted custom Rom and flashed the gapps ICS pack, now I can use the googleplay as well.

I managed to install Lesongs B113 now, working like a charm.

Hi I just got the P1 in the UK. Is anyone able to write a guide in english and host the files here too?

Do you by chance have any way to flash the original recovery. The earlier guide you had up flashed a recovery that doesn't work. Just bootloops but I can still use the phone itself.

.
this method does not work on the version: V100R001CHNC00B115
i can't attach link.
copy this:
" 华为Ascend P1固件(U9200-1, Android 4.0,V100R001CHNC00B115, 中国区通用) " to google enter to first link.
what can i do?
thank you.

I think if 123Hero123's experience is anything to go by, then you need to downgrade your firmware first to U9200 V100R001CHNC00B110 available here - Johnny Paranoia - U9200 Firmware list
Then run the root and recovery installer, then upgrade to lesongs B113 Pre-rooted firmware.
As yet there is no rooted B115 firmware out yet.
Hope this helps

Thanks for your response, i tried to install the version V100R001CHNC00B110 but it failed (Image attached).
By the way, the global firmware V100R001C00B213 also failed.

You could either try the new guide but not install the rom to see if it installs a working recovery for you or you could restore your phone to stock (B110) and then use the new guide to root and install recovery that shouldn't boot-loop.
Also what firmware are you currently using?

Dear All,
My question might be very silly (please ignore my ignorance), I supposedly have a rooted P1 phone (gave to somebody who supposedly rooted it), when i install superuser from market, or any other application that requires root nothing happen as if i do not have root access...
I tried root checker, it says that i do not have su binary or Sudo (I think Su binary is important)
I tried adb, and using adb shell i was root, this is the hash: "1|[email protected]:/system/bin #"
I copied su binary (from file Superuser-3.1-alpha1_su-3.1_Busybox-v1.19.4-wraithdu-signed.zip) to system/bin, rebooted, but still nothing happens with superuser.
when i try running su from adb shell the below message occurs:
"/system/bin/sh: su: cannot execute - Permission denied"
when i also tried chown or chmod for su it says permissions denied..... what should i do?
Hady

Don't flash any firmware from my site, you will probably brick your phone
Your phone has different firmware to the U9200 Ascend P1.
U9200-E. I think your phone is so new that there is no firmware downloads for it at the moment.
When it becomes available I'll be able to tell you how to re-flash your stock recovery but until then you will need to wait because anything you do is likely to brick your phone because all the firmware and recoveries here are for the U9200-1 and not yours.

Hello all,
I have the same problem as Kobire.
I cannot upgrade or downgrade with my firmware V100R001CHNC00B115, it fails al te time.
It doesn't matter if i use forced updating in recovery mode or software upgrade in menu!!
Therefore i also cannot perform de method for rooting described by JohnnyParanoia .
Maybe one of you can find a solution.
Many thanks for all your hard work helping us.

OK, there is no way putting on the rooted ROM if the phone is with B115(Android 4.0.3 as in my case too!). I had tried to downgrade from B115 to B110 via coping the "dload/UPDATE.APP" and updating it from the menu but received the same as kobire's pic - "Version list verify fail!" & "Huawei SD card update fail......".
Is there something major that we are missing or we have to try downgrading to B113 with the same method, or I don't know... Any help will be appreciated!
Thanks for this method JohnnyParanoia and again special thanks for the translation!

[Q] So I have the B508 system...but I need the international version!

Hello! I bought a P6 very recently, but it turns out that its stock system is based on the Chinese local store, not Google Store! This is a very big problem as I am a Canadian user, and I have many apps and personal information that's associated with my Google account.
The current version of my p6 is B508 after the kitkat update. So can anyone please shed some light on how I can replace it with an international rom? I see so many versions flying around and I don't know where to start anymore...step by step guidance would be greatly appreciated, as I'm a noob with custom roms.
Thank you all in advance!

I tried to boot into the bootloader by both methods (pressing volume down + power button, and from the command line), but both method got me stuck on the white screen with orange WO logo. Is this a common problem? How do I get around it?
ie. The device shows up when i go adb devices, so this part is fine at least.

Changing from b508 is little irritating process, but it's possible ,, first you've to downgrade to b132 ,,,then you can upgrade to kit Kat versions,,,, directly you can't change from b508 to international kit Kat versions,,

I find B508 is way better than international kitkat roms. For google play, go to the Huawei app store app and then search for google play and install it. or alternately download google play apk file and install it.

I believe that "white screen with orange WO logo" it's in your case a bootloader mode so type "fastboot flash recovery {here type your stock recovery file name.img} after that, force update.app (P6 Unicom EMUI2.0) (power and both volumes) make sure you got update.app in sd/dload folder and then just update to B132.
Your recovery file should be placed in adb folder

So I decided to give fate a shot, and went straight with your method (started copying the first .app file to the SD and update it). It worked! So it seems like my device's bootloader was already unlocked? Anyways, I followed your method seeing that the first step was successful, and now I have the international kitkat with full working Google Store! My deepest gratitude to all of you!
@warea: I actually had the Google Play services installed, but it would simply crash on me after I entered my account, just before the policy page showed up. I reset the phone multiple times, went with all the methods I could find about getting Google Play to work with the Chinese version, but I couldn't...Which makes sense, because it's likely forcefully blocked to avoid conflict on interest. That's my guess though!
Uhmm That's weird, I have no problems with google services at all. I've changed official roms B132, B125, B510, B512. B634 a multiple times and Google always works. Which Rom you are running now? In my case B132 is best one, I will wait for another KitKat release as for now all KitKat seems to be a little sluggish for me.
Hi.
I'm in similar situation as kesun (OP) was: I'm running B508 right now and I want to install the international version B512. Google Play Store was installed, but it also crashes everytime I open it and it can't be fixed with any of the suggestions found online (downloading newer version, updating Google Play Services, clearind data and cache, etc.)
I know that in order to install B512 I have to first install B132, but I recently discovered that the bootloader in my phone is locked, does that prevent me to doing this? If so, how do I unlock it?
Thank you all in advance.
Can anyone please give me a hand here? I've been told that the bootloader doesn't have to be unlocked to install official firmware, so I gave it a try.
The methods described here involve flashing EMUI 2.0 (which I already have, do I need to flash it again?, can I do that with bootloader locked?), then installing the B132 firmware and them the B512.
I encountered a problem when installing B132 via local update. It says "Huawei SD card update failed", then it does a couple of steps and gives a big FAILED.
I remind you the my bootloader is locked. I suspect this is the problem. I'm currently running 4.4.2 with B508.
Sent from my HUAWEI P6-U06 using XDA Free mobile app
Try the suggested method and install the emui 2.0 even though you already have it, because I know few months ago people had problem reverting back to jb without the update. Then you can try to install the B132.

There is a downgrade update.app for EMUI 2.0 just search here on XDA otherwise you will not be able to downgrade.

Thanks again, mate.
EDIT @taaeem, sorry for the hassle, but I have a few more doubts.
Is it important which version of the firmware and which Android version i'm coming from? I'm running B508 right now, which is a KitKat firmware. Can I just flash a 4.2 firmware (B132) from a 4.4 firmware? I've seen many post talking about flashing some other stock recovery in order to being able to go from B50x to B132 and then to B512. Do I need to have bootloader unlocked for this? If you culd just go through the steps quickly I'd appreciate it greatly.
Thanks in advance

No need of other stock recovery just download the downgrade update.app and put it on your dload folder and update. Than put B132 update.app in the dload folder IMPORTANT delete the other file before.
And then update again and that should work.

Recently updated to A5FMB19

I purchased the tablet online in China about two months ago, so I got a tablet running CN system. (A5CN51C as I got it.)
So I followed a manual and immediately flashed a A5FM51C system.img to my tablet.
When the OTA A5FM91E came, I checked up this forum, only found high risk of updating.
While today, while I consulted a Chinese forum, there is a method to safely update the tablet to a newer version of system without converting back to CN systems ( meanwhile the boot is still lost after updating ! )
Basically, for all who initially has a CN system installed and successfully converted to TW version, there is a way to update your system while keeping all google frameworks.
Method is listed below.
1. Enable developper mode and USB debugging, and connect to PC using adb.
2. Flash the corresponding boot.img and recovery.img to the tablet. (By saying corresponding, it's the boot.img and recovery.img must match the version you're using. For eg, I'm updating from a A5FM51C version, so I should at least have a boot.img and recovery.img of A5FM51C.)
Below you can find the boot.img and recovery.img of A5FM51C.
HTML:
http://pan.baidu.com/s/1gdwKN7P
Password 2jwi
or https://www.dropbox.com/sh/drmfv30k54jgb35/AABc9uPxpOSUNHsV1lSD-k_1a?dl=0
command on adb shell should be like :
Code:
su
dd if=/sdcard/recovery.img of=/dev/block/pci/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/by-name/recovery
dd if=/sdcard/boot.img of=/dev/block/pci/pci0000:00/0000:00:01.0/by-name/boot
3. After rebooting once and rebooting into recovery mode, check if the recovery is converted to the targeted version.
As I am updating to a system with Google applications, I should check if the version is marked FM.
4. In the recovery mode, side load the updating zip files, after a patient waiting, the system should be successfully updated.
ATTENTION ! [/SIZE]the zip file should be a full updating file, NOT A PATCH zip. So the file you are side loading is at least 300+ M.
If you are updating from A5FM51C, you can directly download from the links below two files.
HTML:
A5FM91E 848.38M
http://ota-service.oss.fc811.com/upload/Nokia/moorefield/Nokia_N1/N1-tw2015/A5FM91E_update.zip
A5FMB19 816.04M
http://ota-service.oss.fc811.com/upload/Nokia/moorefield/Nokia_N1/N1-tw2015/A5FMB19_update.zip
5. The first time booting the updated system could be time consuming, so take a cup of coffee and be patient.
All credits should be given to the Baidu Tieba user "遇上咨询", and if you happened to be capable to read Chinese, you can visit http://tieba.baidu.com/p/4174802149 for further consult.
PS.
I updated from A5FM51C firstly to A5FM91E, after once rebooting normally into the system, I then updated again to A5FMB19, just being careful not to cause any damage.
And after updating there could be several applications crash unconditionally, since I've been using the system for less than 24 hours, I am not sure if this situation can be optimised after a period of time.
So the update only brought the Android version to 5.1.1, and Nokia added a "Close all app" button in the overview. Consider again if you are willing to spend one hour to update the tablet into a very similar system !
Wish you luck.

Originally, I converted my tablet at A5CN51C, with root. Following this manual.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/nokia-n1/general/n1-taiwan-release-t3083115/post62313790
So using this method to convert, you should guarantee a valid root state executing DD command on adb shell.
So I personally think that at least you should wait for a root method, then there would be a chance for converting system.
I directly updated from A5FM51C to A5FMB19 (not went through A5FM91E . confirmed it's okie with this method
Thanks a lot. I confirm that we can directly update from A5FM51C to A5FMB19. I just have a question, if an update release can i do the update by the ota ? Sorry for my bad english.

After converting the recovery and boot partitions to FM version, there should not be a problem in updating directly by OTA.
Before, when I execute OTA, it will pop up a message read "Could not download the update, please check the storage". And after, I could successfully start the download. It was because the limited network speed, I've chosen to side load the update package.
But it's merely my guess. Since the tablet has at least 20 partitions, and I don't know if there's any other which could influence this process. Maybe we could invite a real expert to join in this discussion.

Do you speak any other languages like Chinese or French, or your native language so I can do a google translate ?
Thanks for these updated information.
Hi, guys, thank you for help with moving from CN to TW. I've done this from rooted A5CN51C to A5FMB19.
But, now I've got system reboot every 15 min. Uptime no more than 30-35 min. It's very unstable during watching video (e.g. youtube app). Do you have the same? Model: n1s.
Hard reset doesn't solve this problem.

[Problem] Software Update application and Buttom are missing

Hello, iv recently bought this device for my dad, and at the moment the rom version is 2.15.40.13
and iv followed basic guides how to do OTA update, suddently i have seen that i dont have any check for updates in my "about" settings, and im missing Software update app alltogether.
Can anyone upload or link me this app? or suggest any help in the matter?
thank you alot.
Are you experienced with using adb? There are a number of options available you can download each successive update and update that way by placing them on your sdcard, or you can flash the current one directly using bootloader or adb sideload, to flash through bootloader you will find the complete tutorial and links to the files in the thread for changing from CN to WW, the instructions and files for adb sideload are located on the ASUS support site.

Maybe something missing in system files.
Can you please give us some detail about your device?
By flashing a new complete Rom you won't lose any data unless you reset the device on this phone your data is not removed when you flash, but you will get a clean install of the OS

Same problem here!
Hello, I have the same problem pointed at in the topic. My zenfone2 comes from china but hosts a WW firmware.
When I turn it on, a chinese banner appears, then the Asus logo, then all goes well, aside from some bugs that I learned were solved in later firmwares.
I've tried updating manually, but the phone doesn't prompt the installation after saving the latest firmware .zip in the root of its internal storage.
Would it work using the method of renaming the .zip file into "MFOD_SDUPDATE.zip", placing it into SD card and then restarting in Recovery Mode? Should I do this with the latest firmware or am I supposed to go through all the updates up to the latest one?
Edit: I put the official .zip file in sd card and renamed it "MOFD_SDUPDATE.zip". I then turned on the phone in recovery mode and update started automatically. I actually forgot to make sure that my recovery is same SKU as firmware, but I must have been lucky, 'cause everything worked well!

Yes. I am on latest stock and rooted
A750f/DS
I have a rooted and unlocked A7/2018 and flashed the rom. I could boot it for the first time from TWRP directly. The next reboot brought the issue:
"Only official released binaries are allowed to be flashed"
The message is shown on start screen for around 3 seconds afterwards the device goes off again. Bootloader is not reachable anymore (POWER+VOL+ or VL-)
Please help me how to fix this problem thanks

Boot to download mode and flash stock. Then search rmm bypass on xda. And maybe if you would go to the a7 2018 thread there would be help.

You must unlock OEM first in developer setting before you flash the custom recovery. Check the RMM state too in download mode screen if it normal or prenormal..

Custom Rom unsure about prerequisites

Hey guys it's been a long time since I've done anything rather than run the stock os so im a bit out of practice...
This is the version I am looking to install:
ROM][SM-P605][9.0] Unofficial LineageOS 16.0 for lt03lte
It states: "-Be sure you are on 5.1.1 Bootloader and Modem (Flash 5.1.1 firmware via Odin) !"
And I am not sure how to confirm this...
If anyone could give me a hand I have attached "screenshots" of the about page.
Thanks
Jonathan
I have found a couple ways to verify this. First you can root your device and install Root Checker Pro (and maybe others). There is a tab in RCP that is called build info and it has the bootloader listed.
You second option is to install a terminal application and run the command getprop ro.bootloader and you will see your versions listed as well. Please note you must make sure you use the right ROM for your system. For example the version 9 you linked above will not work on my tablet due to my CPU.
In my case the boot version is P600UEUC0B1.
I flashed this version 7.1 ROM and use it on my Galaxy Note 2014 Edition (The Exynos processor) but it requires a 5.1.1 boot loader (per the page) and my version works but it is not LL.

You can look at this post to try and download the bootloader. I had issues with the link to get the file and used another forum post to download it. This post has the version as P600XXUDPL1 once updated but this will not install on my device.

My steps
I rooted my device (used the proper tools, set USB debugging, etc... per the root method I used)
I installed the recovery manager (TWRP in my case)
Went through the process to update my bootloader per the ODIN link above
Factory Reset my device
Booted into recovery
Used the ADB sideload to get the ROM on my device
Used ADB sideload to install Google apps
Set up device
Installed SPenCommand to get my pen functions back (may be other options out there)
