AkiBa Metal Slider Series for Samsung Galaxy S2

I recently came across this brand while looking for a case, brand is AkiBa. They are made in Taiwan so I believe quality and fitment will be quite good. Its a slider type case so no screws to fasten the case. I believe they go for $59USD, I'm still trying to find a shop that ships to Canada.
What do you think of this case?

looks tough! although i don't think it provides any shock absorbing capacities

case is a variant of "sweet armor". I did a basic search "sweet armor s2" and i got lots of results. it's not the slider version but the screw version. try searching for it. one of them leads to this : http://english.gmarket.co.kr/challenge/neo_goods/goods.asp?goodscode=216196087

Doesn't 60 USD sound a little expensive for a bumper?

Which color do you guys think look best on a black S2? I'm think about getting black and chrome if I can ever find out where to order!!

Since the antennas are in the bottom of the phone and it's covered by metal I would be concerned that it would degrade signal quality.

I think the taurus metal case is too bulky. this one is slim
As with all metal cases, they will degrade signal quality, but only a little.
I think I'm in love with the black one lol

I was very tempted to buy the taurus case, but then I saw this thread. Now I cant decide, plus I cant find these on ebay. Could anyone, if its possible, share a link to buy one of these ? For EU.

father is going to Taiwan in a few days...might ask if he can have a look for these cases especially...if so, try to get a few and ship to people around New Zealand and/or Australia...?

Nice people here on the XDA forum! I'm looking into where I can purchase these as well and will help my fellow Canadians too if they want to pick up this case.

but:
1. it will be difficult to access buttons, since they already thin
2. expencive

Hmmm....it looks good but I think it is not very handy to use a metal cover.
I love my silicone cover. It protects my phone and when I put it on a slippery surface it stays on it's place, I like that!
Also I think a metal cover will soon look less good because of the scratches on it!
When Your phone falls on a floor of stone it wont protect your phone, I think it will bring even more damaging risc.

The silver IMO looks awesome awesome...but looking at the photos, the recess on the buttons do look quite a lot...

One thing I hate about the sweet armor case is they still have the 'hole' for their Korean version TV antenna. It looks bulkier than the AkiBa too!
I think I found the sources for this cases! I will go ahead and order black and chrome for myself!

Suitable Tripod & Clamp for Galaxy Note?

I know you can purchase small tripods and clamps for Smartphones but of the ones I have seen the clamps only open up to 7cm.
The Galaxy Note however requires a wider 8.3cm
Therefore, has anyone seen a Tripod & Clamp suitable for the Galaxy Note?

Looks good? This cheap optical lenses intrigue me but don't know or if its worth the money. But looks like you can use that holder without the lenses.
What would you guys use one of these for?

I have a sneaky feeling it will not open wide enough to accommodate the Galaxy Note.
I know under the list of devices it mentions the Note but I'm skeptical of it's truth.
It's currently un-available to order on Amazon UK here.
I'll do a bit of reading later to see if I can find any further information on it's specifications.
The zoom lens doesn't interest me.... but the clamp and tripod yes.

It is perfect for the Note! can be used as a stand (a bit unbalanced)

I have the Zenus Mastrige Block Folio case. It has kickstand so i can use it as a tripod to take photos with timer.

Pleased this works for you.... but for me not a chance.
I need to be able to attach the clamp to a true tripod such as a Joby Gorillapod.
This allows you to put the phone into any angle you desire and have it held firmly in place.

Is the note not thinner than an iPhone which they show it holding? . Its a clamp and should work fine and looks like the best option thus far!

Normal clamps open to accommodate the 'Width' of the phone not the depth.
I couldn't make it out with this clamp but are you saying it is held by clamping the depth of the phone. If so surely that would mean clamping the back of the phone to the glass front?

Is it thick enough so the camera lens isn't touching anything it lies on?........looks from the pic that if laid on its back the lens may be flat on the surface it sits on?

I was looking was looking for the docking port cut out myself, until i released you most like cannot use it with a cover on anyway, cut out or not.

Tons of those on eBay, search for "one x cover s line". I've ordered 3 different cases, all hard. Don't really like those silicone ones..

I always buy gel cases, the silicone ones are a nightmare for collecting dust and fluff.
I would not have a hard case, as it gives no shock protection when you drop the phone, it does not absorb some of the impact as gel or silicone does.

Just checked it out, and yes it is thick enough to NOT let the camera touch anything when its back is on a desk or whatever.

I have the exact same case on my galaxy nexus. It is pretty good for the price. However, im passing on this one since it doesnt protect the camera part.

After waiting for 2 weeks i finally got my TPU case from Ebay

Well after waiting for 2 weeks i finally got my case and i LOVE it!!
Its clear plastic on the back and on the side its TPU white!
Everything is cut perfect! i dont have to press hard on the side for volume and power and the charging port fits perfect and the headphone fit perfect!
Plus fits perfect in my pouch! I really recommend the case, The material is really good! I have no other words!

Looks cool but looks like not very protective since the screen and back are super exposed

What are you talking about?... its protective from the back... its clear plastic on the back and white TPU on the side

Also where did you get your screen protector? I want a matte one, but one that doesn't affect the beauty of the screen. Thanks man!

Well that's fine, still look like a good protector from your pics. I can't send you a PM as you've disabled it, you can send me one then. Also, is that the limited edition Nexus that you have that Google gave to their employees? Seems like it with that design you have i the back plate.

iLuv S3 layover clear case (PICTURES)

I am still awaiting my phone but now have all my accessories. My iLuv layover "white" case came in today. I was really interested in it when I first saw it, but there were very little pictures to go by so I thought I would take some pictures that gave a better idea. Until I get a phone to put in it, I figured this was all I could really do. I will update once I get my phone (waiting for it from Best buy/verizon) and can take more detailed pictures.
I wasn't sure how they could get away with charging $12 for shipping. After seeing the box it came, which could have also fit a pair of nike running shoes, I now understand why! This could have easily been shipped in a padded envelope and would have cut down on the cost!

The "white" really is a translucent case
a shot with my thunderbolt under it. shows just how translucent it will be

I love this case! I might buy it ontop of my other cases :victory:

FIFY...

I was sitting around and thinking to myself...."I paid a lot for this case. it is pretty slick and want to keep it looking nice."
I got the xtremeguard full skins on the 75% off deal. (I got 4 actually). at the price I got them for, I figured it wouldn't matter if I wasted one. So, I installed a back protector on the iluv case for a little extra grip and in hopes to keep it looking good. so far it is sticking pretty good. if it sticks, I may keep it on, if not...ehh oh well. I'll take some more picts of that tomorrow if it stays looking good.

that looks like a cover that goes a bit further on the top and bottom, perhaps allowing for a bit more protection. seems nice

is this case available in Europe?

OP, are you using this case on a white or blue S3? I would love to see what it looks on a blue S3.

It looks great. I would like to see it on the phone first. Seems like it doesn't cover the top or bottom of the phone in front.

Case itself looks nice. It would have been better it's a clear hard case. Still looking good.

Wrong IMO. I stayed away from totally clear for one reason. Clear cases look nice at first. Then after months of sliding around on the contact points, those points become scratched. Now you have part of the case that looks nice and the rest which is all scratched and appears dirty.

I'm using the white. I think it would looks pretty slick on the blue to be honest!

Mine just arrived. Here it is on a Pebble Blue S III. I will be exchanging the phone for a white one, but I wanted to post pics for anyone interested in this case with a blue phone.
The case feel very nice and is nice and slim. It also wraps around the corners just enough to provide decent protection. There's no lip to really speak of on the front so the case won't protect your phone if you leave it faced down. That's either a positive or a negative depending on how you like your cases.
