A Question To The S3 UK Users - Galaxy S III Accessories

Hi Guys
i Have buyed The S3 in the netherlands but it seems a UK Model
with a UK Charger so i cant charge in the netherlands..
i saw on the charger it can change plugs if u go on vacation or something else
my question is i just need a EU plug for the charger
yes i know a can buy a normal charger but i want to keep everything orginal as possible
so guys do u know where i can buy the EU plug and not the whole charger
greetings

If it was me I'd be going back to where I bought the phone from and ask them to supply the correct part. other than that I guess you would need to contact Samsung support as the part would be specific to a Samsung charger

i called samsung service..but they have a IQ of a donkey

I think you're being a bit harsh on the Donkey
Other than buying a whole new charger I can't see an alternative, have you tried where you bought the phone from?

Any micro USB charger that provides 1.0A should power it just fine, e.g.
http://www.mobilefun.nl/17592-samsung-micro-usb-data-kabel---apcbu10bbe.htm

Genuine Samsung adapter something like part no ETA0U80IBE. 5v1A is all that's needed.

A question to U.S. Americans with the unlocked (european) Touch Pro2's

Non of the Touch Pro2's I've seen sell with a U.S. charger or atleast they don't say so. Where did you guys buy your U.S. house charger for your Touch Pro2?

it charges by USB in your laptop or desktop, and the same charger you use with your X1 will work on the TP2, it is a very common charger, you can get it anywhere.
Check the markings on the TP2 charger. If the input says:
100-240V
then you have a worldwide/multi-voltage charger (like those used by notebooks) and all you need then is an plug adapter to plug into your wall socket - it will adjust to US voltage automatically.
PS. My TP2 charger supports multiple voltages, as are all chargers that came with older HP/O2/Dopod/HTC PDAs/phones I own.
I found these at ebay. Are these the one you are talking about? These ( charger & Cable) are the same that came in the HTC box.
You can buy them in the HTC store: http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=179160

i wonder why htc doesn't have an official store in US ..
Doesnt it use a standard HTC mini-usb, so wouldnt a Tilt/Fuze (touch pro) charger work with it? Might be able to find that in a cell shop or Best Buy.
your right. I use my fuze wall charger and my old razr car charger. It's just the mini usb plug
Any old HTC chargers you have will work fine. RAZR chargers not too well. The HTC chargers output 1A while the RAZR chargers I believe are less than 500mA. They will charge the phone, but slowly.
Many chargers use the standard mini USB (type A) plug alright, but, unlike a standard USB port on a computer which churns out 500mA, they often generate more power for speedier charging - all Dopod/HTC chargers I have generate a 5V, 1A output. I don't have RAZR, so that's an exception
But, I think what poetryrocksalot is asking originally is that (and correct me if I'm wrong) he is worried the charger out-of-the-box won't work with US mains voltage since Europeans operate at a higher voltage than their friends across the Atlantic - it should work fine if the charger is a multi-voltage one.
are the plugs even the same?

No, but you can always use a simple plug adapter for that - on sale for less than US$3 where I am.

yea but then you have to plug more crap in, and remember the adapter when you travel lol. Oh well. Least there are plenty of online placed to buy the U.S. wall chargers.
I agree. If one doesn't travel beyond US or Canada, getting a US wall charger is more aesthetically pleasing in the long run.
mines came with a universal adaptor that allowed me to plug in here in the US... however, I can only get 2G... which means I'm sending it back to Hong Kong, where I got it from
I use this one with my European Universal
Anyway is a great tool to have for travelers!

The NAM 3g bands haven't been released in a Touch Pro 2. Once the AT&T and T-Mobile versions come out, you should be able to buy an unlocked one with the NAM 3g.

There is nothing wrong with the phone. It doesn't support US 3G networks, at least not yet.

HTC Desire interchangeable European travel plug

I've managed to slide the 3 point UK plug off without any problems but can someone please tell me how to swap the British connection for the European 2 point plug connection please??
Hi,
That is clearly the wrong plug adapter. It looks like just a standard travel adapter that you plug the UK plug into or something (making the charger stick further out from the wall)? If anyone does know where to get proper interchangable adapters please let us know - I have the same problem with having a euro plug (which looks the same as your top one but with the bottom one's prongs) and wanting an NZ/Australia one. You can buy a travel adapter set from HTC that includes all of the plugs, but it also includes another charger and is rather expensive (http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=196228&phone=196001). It's actually cheaper to just buy one of their new style ones it seems (http://www.htcaccessorystore.com/uk/p_htc_item.aspx?i=201954&phone=196001).
Alternatively you could buy a 3rd party microUSB charger - just make sure the charger is rated for 1A or it will charge slowly.
edit: Looking carefully it looks like you might have the adapter plug for the new style charger rather than the old style charger - the plug on the picture looks rather similar
Sorry I can't be more help,
Regards,
Anthony
Ahh I see. I think I'll just stick with the 3 point plug and get another travel adapter.
Can't believe Orange have sent me the wrong kit.
Anyway thank you so much for taking the time to post. Appreciate it.

i9250 oem phone charger

Can anyone tell me the exact model number for the simple USB wall charger?
I had it for the GSII.
Looking to buy off ebay.
Mine came with a different charger that needs converter. Picture below...
I bought this one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/120869020359?ssPageName=STRK:null:IT#ht_1116wt_905
because my Gnex shipped with an European plug and US adapter (which I hate carrying around). It is OEM and you get the wall plug and USB cable as well.
does it really matter what usb wall adapter is used? I bought a generic one that can double as a car adapter for when I need it in the car and it works fine for me when plugged into the wall.
what if the charger overheats the $600 dollar phone and it catches on fire then destroys your $500,000 house...
Better 7 dollar charger than -500,600 loss....hmmmm?
they sold out and now I cant find any wall charger like that, the only wall charger similar is this one: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006YCORR0/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&m=A1SALXWWS9Y6O
But the usb cable is suk !!

That's the only reason I haven't bought that one yet. It's the same USB cable that came with the Nexus S, but I want the same one that came with the Galaxy Nexus, but with a US adapter like that one.
Is there a place to get the same charger that shipped with the Verizon Galaxy Nexus (without the Verizon stickers)? I've searched everywhere, but can't seem to find anything official.

No idea which ships with Verizon version but Amazon has the little OEM 1.0A US charger which is what I got. It works great. I just use the Motorola micro usb cables. My GSM Nexus came with a travel adapter but with UK blades only. I ordered a replacement from Clove but it was missing the other blades too. Either Clove misrepresented the description because it claimed to have multiple blades you can switch out or Samsung packaged mine wrong so I got a refund.

[Q] Charger Adapter ?

Hello all! I finally got the galaxy nexus just a few hours ago and it's amazing so far, but now I have to charge it so this question came into mind. The charger that came with the package is the US standard, but I'm in a different country with the Europe standard. I do have that small adapter but I was wondering if using it would damage the phone ? I'm going to charge from my PC for now.
If the adapter you have is legitimate and is rated to convert from the US to European plug, I don't see why it would damage the phone.

I'd like to buy UK plug insert for Nexus Wirelsss Charger bought in USA. where from?

Hello,
I live in the UK, but my Nexus Wireless Charger (square one, not the Orb) was purchased in America. (a friend of mine sent me an early Christmas gift) The Nexus Wireless Charger power adapter is made up of two parts - the actual power brick, and the tiny plug insert that goes into the wall. Any of you guys know where I could possibly obtain the insert for UK wall socket so I do not have to carry around a separate plug converter? Also, since US uses tiny little prongs, the power brick keeps falling out of my converter when plugged in vertically... so I would much prefer to have the UK insert. I emailed Google, but unfortunately they do not sell the part (OR entire power adapters separately - I'm willing to buy an entire power adapter, just as long as I don't have to carry an extra converter) Any help would be much appreciated. Thanks!

I doubt you'd find just the plug insert. Your best bet is to just buy a UK usb charger with a 2A output. Something like this:

The Wall charger should be able to accept [email protected] 50 and 60Hz. All you would need is a changer to change the plug type similar to this: http://www.amazon.com/Bright-3-Pron...id=1386882613&sr=8-4&keywords=uk+plug+adapter
Thank you guys. On an other thread I saw that Google ships this charger with the American plug regardless of where in the world it is sold..... So I guess more people will have this issue before long.
