I just bought a Samsung Galaxy S II and I am so excited! However I have to learn a whole new community. I'm moving from a Galaxy S Vibrant. I know a lot of the Vibrant community moved to Galaxy S II so a lot of the stuff is familiar. Do any of you remember the bible (http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=771111) that was posted in the Vibrant dev sub forum? I'm hoping to make something like that, or someone with knowledge of the community to build something like that. It's so helpful.

When you get ready to ROM....
I would say try GingerSnap, Juggernaut and Bombardier.
One of the best was BeastMod but dude got banned.
Once you mess around and get familiar with the phone...you will probably do what a lot of us have done....go back to stock, root the phone and grab a copy of Titanium Backup and start deleting bloat.
The best battery and performance is stock. Just install a battery manager if you want from the market.

Manager of Montréal TELUS store just told me the roll out has begun with some of his clients receiving it. He called me on his OWN to tell me cause he knows what a fan I am, without me ever asking him about an update. I just saw a thread closed coming here to tell you guys about it, hope I'm not violating a rule. . I am very excited Anyway I can force the update?

Can we either post because you are interested or let this thread die without flaming. The other thread was closed. In the skyrocket forum they can have ICS speculation threads or threads on the note without getting them closed because they only have one or two people who flame everyone.
If this is true this would be a good thread to organize a system dump but that wont happen if it gets closed due to flaming.

To be fair, they probably don't know of it's release anymore than we do (if some reps even know what an Ice Cream Sandwhich is..).
If it's being rolled out now or in the next few days it would explain Telus' site update saying the update would be coming soon. It could also be that the OP saw that too and figured some good ol' trolling was in order.
As with the other thread, this one is now closed - it's of little use and has already attracted an unacceptable amount of flaming.

Agreed, there are at least 4 threads on this matter and all you have to look at is the amount of support (change log) and look to see what you like after 2 hours max of reading you will find what vest suits you. At least do some research (state the rom and the features you want, need, and questions you have about each rom) and then you'll get some responses that aren't derived from frustration at laziness.

As some of you may know flappjaxxx had created a Hercules specific kernel for our phone with OC/Uv capabilities. Unfortunately only after 1 day of dealing with a few xda members he has decided to shut it down. I just like to say one thing about this we have to remember these developers do things that they may like and then they share it with us. If it does not meet your satisfaction I would suggest you then find a way to make it fit your needs and definitely not complain.
With that said he informed me that updates if any(I asked him to not stop for Hercules) can be found on his goo.im page http://goo.im/devs/flappjaxxx/t989
Thanks flappjaxxx for giving us a choice if only for a day... Not trying to have this be a back and forth just letting people know he will try and do updates when they are needed I guess and where to find it.
If you want to discuss anything about the kernel since the thread was closed feel free to get it started in here... To me the vibration is better than the other custom kernel and interactive makes my screen react faster. I do not have the lag I was having before, still checking out battery life of course

We had 1 choice of kernels the man gave us another one and because it was not the same as DAGr8 you complain... If it was the exact same then why even post it? Sorry it just did not make sense to me nor does alot of stuff I read here but maybe its just me...
Why are people so rude? It's one thing to offer constructive criticism, but to unnecessarily bash someone's work because you don't agree with it? It's ridiculous. I'm glad that this kernel will still be updated every now and again. My phone's running a lot smoother since I flashed it.

I also flashed this kernel a few hours ago and I'm really impressed, especially on how quick it puts my phone into deep sleep. This will definitely improve battery life and the performance in general is amazing!
I hope he sees how much his work is appreciated and not let the ignorant MF's out there get to him. People need to be more appreciative and respectful of the devs that put in the work they do
