After the kies update - T-Mobile Samsung Galaxy S II SGH-T989

I have a voicemail icon .... but no voicemail? Has anyone else ran across this, and/or is there a way to clear it?
I've called my voicemail to clear...no go
I've tried clearing it from notification pull down...no go
I've tried rebooting...no go
Oh and I'm not rooted..just in case you ask.

Same thing happened to me and this worked.
I'm just sayin!

After you delete it, try to press asterisk to go to the main menu then, try to hang up. That's what i did and it works perfect.

(Q)machine when receiving calls

Just wanted to know who else gets this when a call comes in and if there's a way to get rid of it
Edit solved. Thanks to coryshad

Sounds like Google voice. Log into Google voice from you computer and you can change the settings. I even did it from my phones browser but its kind of a pain.

New Voicemail Icon Won't Go Away!!

I had a saved voicemail that I deleted today and since then, it will not go away. I've tried wiping cache with no success.
I think it may go away over night when the network processes but I'm not sure and the icon and notification for it is annoying.
Any solution?

Call your voicemail. Leave a message. Then delete it.
It happens often with new SIMs.

Voicemail Indicator stuck

Wiped phone and used ODIN to flash stock ICS and have the standard voicemail indicator that won't go away. I was using GVoice before and have it running again and nothing I do get rid of the indicator. Anyone else?
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Have someone leave you a new voicemail, then delete it. This will clear the notification...

Call your self from another phone and leave a voice mail and then delete it. Should fix the little problem
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Also after you delete don't hang up immediately. Let it get back to the main menu. Fixed it for me when I had same problem.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using XDA
I did that before and it didn't do it. Maybe now that GVoice is back on I switch it then switching back? Hmmm.
Edit:
Nope. No dice. My phone is always on GVoice. Does not switch over. I also don't get any settings options for either from voicemail carrier select. Grayed out for both.

Can you disable g voice? Also holding down 1 on keypad should let you call your voicemail and let you listen/delete it
Sent from Samsung Galaxy SIV
I am starting to think that I cannot. I had switched off of GVoice and voicemail still went through it. And like I said I am not getting the option for settings in either...
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Go to the g voice app and sign out. Have you tried that?
Sent from Samsung Galaxy SIV
No option for signing out. My voicemail go through GVoice and I check them through GVoice. Which is fine. Minus the default notification.
Sent from my SGH-T989 using xda premium
Got it. Called voicemail and sent a message to myself directly from there. Then deleted it and the indicator went away.

If you login into google voice through the webpage, you can disable it for your phone number. Then it will revert to TMobile.

Phantom voice mail?

How do I get rid of it?
Some googling told me I needed a second non android phone but I don't have one. It's there another method to get rid of it??
Also I am having another problem
On the msg and chubz Rom my time doesn't fully show

Try calling from another phone and leaving a voicemail. Then check your messages. Usually gets rid of my phantom icon

What do you mean they don't get through? Like you can't call and leave a voicemail or you can't call and listen to them?
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
I call and get a busy tone when I call my voice mail to listen
Sent from my SPH-L710 using xda premium
If you want to get rid of phantom icon and all messages have been heard!
Nq Battery Manager.....after go to optimize and walla, GONE!
There was no app with that exact name
But there were two that were similar
One with a blue icon and one with a green icon
I tried optimize in both
I still had phantom voice mail

when i had the evo4g and had the phantom icon, calling vm from another phone, leaving a message, waiting for it to show up, then calling from own phone & listening to the message, then delete it. then make sure all other messages are a listened to, also.
if you call your own number from another phone & do not get your voicemail, then it might be time to check with your provider.
After checking apparently no one can leave me voice mail

Try going back to a stock rom and do hands-free activation through the dialer. Also update PRL and profile
I will try this soon
Probably the week end

It didnt seem to appear on AOKP or anything based off stock ROM

Last question then im gonna flash and figure if I do flash this and try to revert back..when I flash the stock back will it be themed like mine currently is in shadows jv? Or should I try and pull the themed stock out with root exp or copy it to sd card so I can push it back in themed?

do you mean when sending? if you do then go into settings and it lets you transfom a large message into mms which let the receiver receive it all in one...
If you mean when you receive it ... then let me know when you find out..
Just copied the secmms from the system/app to my ext sd. Guess I can just push it back if I dont like it. Flash and find

What? Don't understand your statement.
I know it's not much of a test but I sent myself a video mms and it worked fine.
Edit: BTW, if you're trying to send a camera pic, I'm sure there is still some size limitations in place.
And if it's not app related, certainly the Carrier will block/resize or limit mms sizes as well.
I can verify one thing that's wonky. If you click on your own contact picture in messaging, where it would take you to the respective field IN contacts, alas hangs up for a mo', then it force closes instead (contacts), and kicks you out of the message thread.

Also, I can verify pictures send for me. I'm on credo mobile, but carrier shouldn't matter for this mod.
EDIT: pictures also coming in successfully =)
Also, probably because it IS AOSP messaging, neither counter on message icon works nor message notifier on lock screen. Though I'm not sure if it's enabled with Ripple as I have it off today.
