I recently had issues with the Gmail widget not updating at all, even after entering the Gmail app by pressing the widget, the widget will not update and stay outdated, unread emails will stay unread after reading them etc..
After searching I found out that Beautiful widgets is the cause, after uninstalling it the Gmail widget began updating again..
Just a heads up..
this sucks as I really liked BW and now I'm after a decent replacement.

Exactly what I'm using atm..
Still no luck, it was updating here and there, sometimes took it a couple of minutes to update, but now it's stuck again, no updates.. I think it's a known issue now, heard allot of people complaining about it since updating to 4.0.4
I have the same issue. I'm running stock 4.0.4, unrooted. I'm also currently running Nova Launcher and have BW installed. However, it sounds like removing BW is not necessarily a fix...? I might try to uninstall it anyway and see how it goes.
Regardless, I've submitted a problem report to the Gmail team. Hopefully this will get fixed soon.
On a side note, I've been having similar issues with the Calendar widget. Anyone having that problem?

I have a couple of questions about LauncherPro Plus that hopefully someone can shed some light on.
First, I noticed when i was using the latest Fresh Rom that when I used the LauncherPro Plus People Widget and clicked one of my contacts a list of options were displayed, including their facebook status. in addition their contact picture was excellent.
I flashed CM6 and reinstalled LauncherPro Plus and the People widget. Right off the back the pictures seemed somewhat blurry and digitized. Furthermore when I clicked the a contact their facebook status didn't appear anymore...only text, email, phone number etc.
So is there a fix or workaround to get the launcherPro widget to work like it do on a sense rom or is it limited?

I could be mistaken, especially since I don't have much experience with Fresh, but it sounds ilke the facebook integration from sense vs the NON integration (segregation?) of facebook in CM.

Well ok..now this is strange! Right after I read your post, I was clicking my contacts on the People Widget and now the fb icon appears. Furthermore some is even showing their fb status.
In AOSP roms, facebook is not as integrated in where on sense based roms it is. It isnt that the widget is broken or not working correctly its just one of the diffrences between AOSP and Sense roms.
as far as the "blurry" pictures I ma not sure on that one but i have seen others report this may be able to search for a fix.
Does anybody know how to get the Friendstream widget to work. I installed a 4x5 Rosie mod and I love having the extra real estate. Unfortunately, doing this has caused my Pure Messenger widget to not work correctly. I used it for my facebook feeds. I have tried using the Friendstream widget but it never updates. I deleted my facebook account and reconnected to from the Friendstream config. It says at the bottom that is was updated at so and so time but there is nothing displayed.

Go to accounts and sync. You can refresh the widget but it only ever really updates on the time frame specified (i have mine set to an hour so it actually updates 12 minutes after every hour...6:12, 7:12, etc). I'm pretty sure you can set it for smaller intervals though.
It's a known issue and one the app has has well (you have to manually update in the app for the widget to update).
this initially happened with the gosms widget where it doesnt refresh everytime i get a new sms. i reinstalled gosms and it still had the problem. and now even the clock widget of sonyericsson and the other widgets likr goweather, the date widget doesnt refresh anymore. how do i go about this? are you also having the same problem?
How about Timescape? You can use it to see the messages
I don't use timescape. It's not too private.
Anyway, it's not the issue though.
Even the clock widget (stock SE's digital clock) sometimes don't refresh with the time showed in the status bar. Even the weather widget etc.

ever since the 2.3.3 update ive had the same issue, particularly with the clock. its always out of sync. tried stopping home, reloading the widgets etc, nothing seems to work and its completely random
I'm still with 2.3.2.
I tried using GoLauncherEx and so far they are working fine. But it still happens.
I have noticed that the widgets don't refresh when I'm using the default SE home..
Can someone help me with this?
I've discovered this to be a reproducible (but not solvable) problem. This might be an Android prob, as there are one or two other short threads on this site for other phones. For me it looks like the common thread is an incoming call while using an app. But fixing it... who knows?
I have been able to reproduce it three times:
1. after a week using my Arc, a new clock widget stopped updating except when foregrounded, and not until the next minute ticked over. I also noticed a weather widget wouldn't update reliably.
2. after two months without a solution, i completely reset the phone. All good. While playing a game, I received a call. Afterwards, the widgets wouldn't refresh except as above.
I deleted an unrelated widget because I didn't need it, and (perhaps coincidentally) the other widgets started refreshing properly.
3. a week later, I received a call while using the calendar app. Widgets no longer refresh, except as above. I haven't been able to find a fix this time. Tested widgets like the stock digital clock show the same problem.
If u hav installed beautiful widgets then..
Well after lots of trial and error.. the only solution i found is..
1. uninstall beautiful widgets animation
2. clear data beautiful widgets from settings - apps - beautiful widgets
3. uninstall beautiful widgets..
Living without beautiful widgets is better than facing that refresh problem..
Fix launcher lag
This method worked on my SE Arc S (.42). You need to have root access.
1) Open the following file: /system/build.prop
2) Add this to the end of the file and save it: ro.HOME_APP_ADJ=1
3) Reboot.

I was going to try digging the HTC Calendar widget out of the 1.20 Stock ROM to see if it will install. Anyone know if that's likely ?
I don;t want to be a whiner but I'm kinda mad some of the crap HTC pull. In this latest release I've lost the two widgets I used most, the news widget and the agenda widget

you are right...I am also facing the same BUG, sense is rebooting one we select the calander/agenda widget....

Isn't that only if you have your Facebook calendar syncing before adding the widget though? Possibly because it's having to add too many events?
Agenda widget working fine here with two calendars syncing - plus you can add the FB calendar once the widget is on screen.

No. I am only showing 1 calendar in the agenda widget and it's not the facebook one. It's my exchange calendar.
The bug seems to be linked to the number of appointments you have.
Mine worked fine for the first few days and then this morning started crashing. This is because now that the easter holidays are almost over my work diary for next week is really full, hence lots of appointments etc.
If I change the widget to only show the facebook calendar or only show tasks etc it works fine.

Damn. That does not seem to be working.
I;'ve got the system image out of the rom but I can't extract it using unyaffs.
Any pointers from any of you android chef genuises ?
Maybe someone could just extract and post the agenda widget apk and I will test ?

I had the same problem once. I have 2 calendars synced + facebook.
I removed the widget and re-add it and it's working.

Fix Found (Sort of...)
I have found a fix for this.
If I tell the widget to "Show All Calendars" it's fine.
If i tell it to only show one, even if that's the only calendar with any events in it, it causes Sense to crash.
Guess I'll just tell it to show all calendars
Strange - show all causes mine to crash as it then includes Facebook.
If I just use my work exchange and Google calendars it works fine and I'd imagine there's more than 20 entries in those?

I am using the standard Android widget (the 2x3 one) and it annoyingly doesn't seem to update. When I add items to my calendar they do not show up and sometimes the widget shows a day behind the actual date.
There also seems to be no refresh button for this widget. Is there a way to do that and does anyone else have this problem?

Hey guys,
since i have the N4 (4.2 and 4.2.1) my Jorte calendar app works not right.
It shows my appointments from all googlecalendars, But i can't change anything, i can't add an appointment, so i can't do noting.
It says there are no calendars, but it shows all appointments...
Does anybody of you have the same issue? Or maybe have a solution for this problem?
I love jorte, haden't find an app with such an widget (showing the appointments in a 4x1 row with showing the days from a week), so i can't change the app...

I'm experiencing the same problem. I can see my appointments but not add or edit. Jorte still works fine in ICS, so I assume we just need to be patient for an update to 4.2. It's a real drag.

Jort Update worked for me, so anything is fine now
Personally I've used Jorte, and it just didn't do it for me. Someone mentioned Android Pro Widgets and that worked much better...especially coming from an S3 with S Planner.
I love Jorte. Haven't found anything better but depends on how you use it I suppose. I like full monthly views + tasks all on the same page/widget.
The bug was killing me but now that it is resolved...sweetness.
