gpu rendering - Xperia Arc Q&A, Help & Troubleshooting

what is the function of gpu rendering of ics?
i just feel the decrease of performance after enable it

Some apps are not using it at all and others have issues. It is better to disable "Force 2D GPU Rendering". That way, only applications optimized for ICS will be utilizing GPU rendering.

show CPU usage force GPU rendering

what is CPU usage on developer option there is a box you can check as well as GPU renderingcan anyone explain this. Should i check the box, does GPU RENDERING (USE 2D HARDWARE ACCELERETION IN APPLICATIONS) will make my phone faster?
i'll be honest everyone in this forum says to enable 2D rendering and it makes the phone smoother. but i find the exact opposite. when i enable 2D, apps get very choppy for me. system panel for example is super smooth, but enable 2d and it scrolls choppy. same result for every app i try.

disable cpu rendering ? cpu control?

what it meant to disable CPU rendering? can you still control cpu or equal nice app
"Rendering" is the process of graphically constructing the display. Rendering can be performed by the CPU or the GPU.
CPU Rendering means having the CPU draw things on the screen. It's slower (since at the same time CPU has to handle *everything*), but uses less power.
GPU Rendering is faster, much faster in some cases, but uses more power.
Disabling CPU Rendering means forcing everything to use GPU Rendering instead. It has no effect on the ability to set CPU Frequency and/or governor.

[Q] Force GPU Acceleration on per-app basis?

So we all know we can force 2D GPU acceleration in the developer menu. This makes older apps run much smoother, with best example being the official adobe reader. This app changes from laggy mess to smooth butter when GPU acceleration is enabled.
On the other hand, my nexus 7 commonly freezes ("black screen of death"). I am suspecting this to be caused by this GPU acceleration option. Is there a way to enable GPU acceleration for certain app, so that it turns off when the app is exited?
Thanks!

"Force GPU rendering" and "Disable HW overlays"

Hey,
Is there any benefit to enabling "Force GPU rendering" and "Disable HW overlays" on this phone? I know in the past i've read that using the GPU for rendering can pull less power than the CPU since the GPU would be more suited for those tasks.
Thanks
