[Q] Your best sound quality ROM setup?

Hey XDA, new member here trying to get past the 10 post limit so I can dive into the Android Development Forum. I've always trusted XDA's members for the best for my EVO, have had it for 2 years and have experimented with quite a few ROM/kernel/mod combinations, and I'm just starting to post. My question is, what has been the best sound setup you have come across with the EVO, and why, how, etc.
I've tried maaany things, but I seem to find the best sound quality in Sense ROMs with DSP Manager, no Beats or ACID sound mods. Just throw in PlayerPro with DSP pack and it feels like your a sound engineer at a Rush concert. Can anyone 1up that?
Cheers.
Bumping, 'cause c'mon.

you are really playin the game of personal opinions here. i have to agree with you dsp manger with a eq built in to the player is a good way to go. I currently use winamp pro with dsp but on cm7.2 and it sounds real solid. I have a galaxy nexus i actually use dsp and aosp with but i havent quite dedicated it to music as much since its only 16 in comparison to the 32 gb i have in my evo.

Ok, I'll bite!
Tried quite a few sound mods - my favorite combo is:
AC!D Audio Engine: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2002367&highlight=acid
then flashing this
Megabass Audio Booster: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2074977
On CM7 base roms it adds a modified DSP EQ
On CM9/CM10 roms it adds a modified Beats DSP EQ
With the AC!D engine as a base, I found nothing that sounds better!
So you're recommending the cm9 base?

Why don't you try Some good Music Players.I'll Suggest Poweramp or Neutron Music Player.
Poweramp Music Player: Good Balance between intuitive ui and good sq.
Neutron Music Player : Arguably without eq has better sound quality than
poweramp at the expense of ui (below average actually)
Hope this helps
I have my rom buid with dsp and enhanced with beats manager, also have roco dev beats aswell, tweeked it a little here and there and sounds great.

Clear Sound Effects, Low Bass Boost on S3 (GT-I9300)

Hi ALL!
Ever wanted to have a real bass boost effect on your Galaxy S3 GT-I9300? Sure you have heard off beats bass mods but have they ever worked for you?
So far, I have been tinkering around on Sony Audio effects mod, Beatsbass mods and none of them gave me the best bass boost I ever wanted until I tried using this one small library and audio config. I have created a flashable zip for this so just flash it via clockwork recovery.
Requirements for Your Satisfaction:
- Android default MusicFX
- Google Play Music app
- Remove other soundfx modifications
- Stock kernel (may work with other kernels but not tested)
- Stock ROM (may work with other ROMs but not tested)
- Android Jelly Bean ROM(really, who still uses ICS on S3 GT-I9300?)
Whats Diff/New:
- 6 Graphical Equalizer for frequencies: 15Hz, 62Hz, 250Hz, 1kHz, 4kHz, and 16kHz
- Lower and "real" Bass Boost effect
Compromises:
- No presets available. (You may try the settings I have in the screenshot)
- 3D Effect is not as cool as SRS but stereo range is wide on this mod. (the 3D effect only adds echo. The reason for that is to make sure that the bass boost is not overpowered - not sure if that is right description to it.)
Ever since I discovered the rich bass boost plus clear audio on this mod I made, I have been listening to music all day with my S3 plus an Audio-Technica ATH-SJ33 headset, I felt like I have the whole 5.1 Sound System in my head.
Hope you'll love the effects.
Added Android JB 4.3 version.
Fixed the Android JB 4.3 version flashable zip file.
Added support for Android KitKat 4.4 version.
High Quality = High Quality
And yes, you'll need a headset/earphones that can handle low frequencies like 5-10Hz with high tolerance as this can relatively damage "cheap" headsets.
WARNING: Do not expose your ears to very high volume with this mod for a very long time.
Or your ears will explode!
Can you make this for CM 10.1?
Using this on UltimaROM 12.0.1 and playing modern swedish death metal with low end frequencies at pretty high levels (not selfdistorted but close) is freaking enjoyable thru my Koss headphones. Good work, dude! You gived me an reason to get some extra boner from now on.

You need to have the android default musicfx.
Works great with the leaked 4.2.2!
Tried to install it via TWRP on my null_ rom running with Siyah Kernel.
TWRP told me the installation was complete but I can't find anything on my smartphone?
Seems like it didn't work.
But even tho nice work :*
Does this work with the 4.3 stock android version?
Does it works on 4.4.2?
Unfortunately not. I'll try to see if I can make it work on 4.4.2.

beats audio installer - just follow the setup

or viper sound mod - unzip the file and install the app

but which do people (who have good quality earphones/headphones) think delivers the best quality sound?

It works on all Stock based ROMs.. JB of course.. But i don't think it will work on 4.3.. Do a backup and give it a try.. And yes u gotta install Beats Audio separately.. Google "Beats Audio 2.55 installer".. That's the version of Beats that's awesome and it will work on all ROMs, even 4.3..
I can't find anything on Google

i believe that the ViPER4Android Audio Effects
has the greatest customization options i have ever seen thus far.
I would give that a try first because it is a very easy and simple install and uninstall

Exactly.. What PsA gives u is the best experience with surround and clarity in the voice.. Bass and loudness come from Beats which i PM'd u.. PsA also is the best because we don't need to customize anything or don't have to worry about a lot of presets.. It works best with Walkman.. And PureClarity is my favourite.. We don't need to manually adjust equalizer or anything.. This MOD is from ZeroInfinity's work on SXZ.. Its a direct port.. He'z bringing a much better port as well as far as he told me.. Trust me.. Its worth it..
Dude,
I'm currently using QcAE V1.5.01 - For custom Rom's.
Includes Ac!d Audio and Awesome Beats, this seems to work best for me, I did use Viper before.
Not tried Psa as it only works on stock based

[Q] Canvas 4 audio tweal

It is clear from my 4 canvas series experiences that audio quality of micromax canvas series sucks big time. I've been doing a lot of tweaks to get the desired audio taste, but no good. Recently flashed a custom rom Revolution HD, telling you awesome audio. The best so far. Completely samsung experience. But then canvas 4 looks are addictive. Gives you a stock feeling which I love. So flashed back Pranjal's rom. Which obviously gave me back the sucking audio quality.
Beats audio, xloud, pureaudio all tried. Not satisfactory. Please help me out!
currently i've installed all kinds of equalizer but no good

I've flashed speed rebirth and viper. It's been over 2 months and I still can't forget the sound quality of revolution HD man!! These 2 months I've been trying to search such music quality as of that ROM's like its my crush!! But none provides it. None. Please create a backup, flash Revolution HD ROM , listen to any one song just one time. I bet you'll crave for more! Man, but that ROM is having issues with wifi, etc. So I needed to flash new ROM on my device. Otherwise nothing beats Revolution HD's sound quality man. Nothing!!
