Question about current & battery after installing new rom - HTC One X

Hey everyone,
Ive installed the new 7.0 Revolution rom 2 days ago for my HTC ONE X.
ive calibrated and fully charged my battery once but it seems that my battery drains really fast.
The current seem to be very high - goes between 200-700MA.
Id love to get some tips to improve my battery life..
when using my 3g it seems that every minute or so one percent goes down, im sure its not normal.
thanks!

Just let the battery cycle though 3-4 charges and you will start to see a noticeable difference in battery life. Stay clear of battery calibration apps - they just screw up your batterystats.bin file

[Q] Battery Drain - Yet another whining thread - CM7.2

Hello all together
I'm browsing xda for a little more than a year now. You guys helped me a lot!
First I want to apology my english, I hope you understand what I want to say
Not a long time ago the battery of my WFS lasted up to 3 days (incredible if I think of it now).
That was with a self rooted stock rom and some changes (bravia, turboboost script, oc-kernel, etc.).
Out of nowhere I had problems with my calendar.sync.provider. Processes htc.bg and htc.bgp used the most of my battery (found out with Battery Mix).
I could watch the percent falling... Battery was getting very hot.
After i killed calendar.provider and calendar itself those bg-processes disappeared and all went back to normal.
Installed m1nd's rom, tried a lot of different settings, used calengoo instead of normal calendar (uninstalled the other)...
But battery life was never the same since then.
We also had a really rough winter and I was outside a lot. my battery began to drain faster. First I began to install apps like "auto wifi toggle" to stop that battery drain, after all I just bought a new battery this spring - 1500mAh.
But other than i expected - battery life did not increase. So I decided to install CM7.2 (wanted to do it anyway - great work btw!).
And guess what, nothing changed...
You will find some screenshots at the end... (did barely use the phone this 4 hours)
So what can I do? I'm desperate. The battery does not hold the whole day...
Please give me some tipps (if you have others than the general battery saving thread) or at least cheer me up
tl;dr: Phone works for 10h (mail, text, no phones, no games) - Changing battery & ROM does not fix battery drain...
Thank you in advance!
it happens to me too unfortunately, i charge it everyday or every 2 days
when i play a small mini game for a few minutes, battery drains like over 10% in a few minutes.
Have you tried calibrating the battery?

Hey scilax can you please tell me how to. Calibrate the battery.
Me too get a smaller backup when 3g is used for some 3 to 4 hours.
Please tell about that calibrating

Thing is, I charge my phone everyday. And I've been using CM7 or CM9, battery life never lasts more than a day. If it's only lasting 4-10 hours. Check your sync settings. Keep it only on 2G networks if using data. Get a battery saving application, in my opinion, it sounds like your using a lot of mobile data/wifi.

HTC One X - Horrible Battery Life

Hi All,
Recently switched from an iPhone to HTC One X and I am quite disappointed so far. Does anyone also endure poor battery life with your HTC One X?
I am not running much applications in the background either, if I charge my phone to 100%, I go to bed and wake up its 80% without me even touching the phone... and it hardly lasts me half a day without charging.
Does anyone have any tips to improve battery life? Oh, and my screen brightness is always at 0-25%... thanks for any help!

There are plenty of threads discussing about battery life, look at few of them to get an idea.
One X battery life is not great, but it should comfortably last a day (around 16 hours or more) with moderate use. But everything depends on what apps you are running and how you the phone. For example if you play graphics intensive 3D games for like 2 or 3hrs then it wont last much more than 4 or 5 hours. Other than processor intensive apps the other biggest battery killer is screen, you can’t get more than 3~4hrs of screen time with One X (but then again 4 hours on the phone is not exactly moderate use either). With normal use i.e: 1~2hrs of screen time for day-to-day tasks (browsing, email, texting etc..) and about 1hr of calls the battery should last 16+ hrs. Standby battery life of One X is fantastic, it hardly drops even more than 5% overnight is left alone. If you notice a 20% drop then there is something wrong. Go to battery usage stats and see which apps are eating up the battery.

There is a huge battery thread in this forum, please read through it. However, to start do as below:
Your overnight behavior is not normal. One X uses a 5th core and barely uses any battery while asleep. Usually with auto sync on I consume 2% overnight (usually 8 hours).
Install CPU spy and Better Battery stats. With CPU spy reset the counter before going to sleep and check the sleep % in the morning, it should be above 90% at 0 mhz. Check if it has several minutes at high mhz (800 to 1200 mhz).
With better battery stats go to other in menu and set custom ref before going to sleep. Check in the morning both kernel wakelocks and partial wakelocks. Check if there are any apps generating the most wakelocks . You could have some of the following consuming your battery overnight (I had all of these):
- weak wifi or data signal generates a lot of kernel wakelocks as the phone is constantly scanning for signal.
- some weather widgets have generated me constant wakelocks
- Facebook, Currents, Flipboard all of those constantly update and consume battery.
Also if your HOX is new at first battery life sucks. Believe me it will get way better after a couple of weeks.
try installing ther latest firmware (2.17). if you cant install then search install this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1546970
works like a charm for me and helps the battery to last longer!

[Q] Battery Draining HTC ONE X

Hello my fellow members,
This is my first post. I have a HTC ONE X TEGRA3 Device JB . Recently my phone battery has started draining quite fast particularly in night, When the phone is in sleep. Also battery drain does not stop even when the charger is co nected. There is no network problem and the Data connection is OFF. I have used Better Battery App and have attached the screenshots. Pls help.
I find that my battery is draining too. I flashed viper using cwm. The main reason for going custom was to get better battery life. Please help anyone as I was an iOS user then I saw the light so that makes me a noob

My bbs looks pretty similar to your screens. Unplugged my phone after a full charge @ 5:30 AM, now it's 25%.
screen on time of just one hour seems pretty poor to me. Running ICJ 1.5 and reflashed the stock kernel last night after trying tripp's tegra kernel. Could this decrease my battery life for the first couple of cycles?
Use better battery stats.. Search for it on Google play
It helps in finding applications draining battery
Your wake locks are 5 mins and under, so I would conclude its not a wake lock draining the battery.

Battery issue with most 4.2.2 ROM'S

Dear XDA,
I've tried various 4.2.2 ROMs on my HTC Desire HD and experiencing horrible battery life.
I do not know what to do, from 100% till 0 in 2/3 hours, while just being standby. It's not the battery since I've replaced this one some days ago.
Currently running the cm-10-1-unofficial-ace, a nightly by Mustaavalkosta.I am having a 3G connection with Sync on, turned location related actions off. The Kernel is also by Mustaavalkosta (3079-3.3+)
What could I possibly do to fix is?
Much appreciated!
No1?
from what i read and experienced it isnt a rom issue. that being said, search the numerous battery threads here, a good start would be better battery stats thread

Can you say with certainty that rolling back to an older version of Android would give marginally better battery life?
I had a similar issue to you several months ago. My battery just became useless. Since I switched ROMs frequently, I also thought it was the ROM, but ultimately the battery was at issue. The Desire HD is getting up their in age, and so are the stock batteries that came with them. They can go from a decent charge to holding a pathetic charge in a short amount of time. Suggest you pick up a new one, you can even get higher capacity batteries for 10-15 bucks online.

Hi there, thanks for your help!
I did buy a new battery, one with an increased capacity. It seems that a simple battery calibration tool + juicedefender is doing the job pretty ok, the battery life is somewhat still disappointing as it was before, however acceptable.
You need to flash the Kangbang stable kernal V3.3 I believe and also use greenify to kill maps trying to get location and any other app thats opens without you wanting it to.
I had RC! CM10.1 and got 16 hrs and 30 % left before I cracked my screen. Now waiting for a replacement to fix it.

That's really strange since my battery drains to 90% in 5h standby with stock battery.
Have you tried reflashing the ROM?

CleanRom 5 battery

Hi,
This question is for anyone using the latest CleanRom on their Note II. Just wondering if your average battery drain is around 4-5%/h. I use BetteryBatteryStats. I also check the Battery section under Settings. The most battery life I have been able to get is 12 - 15 h with 1-2h screen time. At this point, the battery is at less than 10%. Is this normal ? I thought I remembered getting better life from older versions of CleanRom. I know these numbers are never achievable on any AOSP rom that I have tried. Just wanted to see what everyone's experience is with battery life. Just post any thoughts!
Thanks for your feedback! I appreciate your time!

Just like anyone else, it all depends on what kernel you're on and what apps you have wakelocking. I've been using Clean 5.0 as my daily for months and the battery life lasts me throughout the day until I need to sleep at which point I plug in... but sometimes, I'm running into fast battery drain due to some apps going nuts on me or when Bluetooth is trying to link from a long distance (where the phone would heat up and drain like mad... btw this only happened to me twice in many months). After a reboot, it usually clears up and after a recharge, I'm back to 14 hours with 20% left at night. I'm not one to be anal about my battery drain if it lasts me until I sleep (because I have NEVER had a smartphone that would last me that long without plugging in... in fact, barely half the day would be when my device would need to be fed).
I'm using Perseus' latest with a few screen tweaks, no CPU or power tweaks, using Facebook constantly, Pulse, SMS/MMS, camera throughout the day, Next 3D launcher with all the fun animations running, YouTube, Pandora when driving (so my Bluetooth is on constantly)... let's just say I'm a heavy user. When my kids get a hold of my device, they run a bunch of games and drain around 10% by the time I get it back.
I am happy with the battery life on my Clean Rom 5.0/Perseus Note II. I won't fuss about it as long as it lasts longer than half the day because that is what I was used before upgrading.
