with Cm9 yes since they dont have the AOKP feature to switch between sound effects (BEATS, MUSICFX, etc) apps like Apollo just uses this MOD and the equalizer to improve or raise the sound.

I was so busy enjoying having a rock solid phone again with CM9 that I had forgotten to check on the status of AOKP for our phone. Thanks a million.
I may give this mod a shot, but honestly... On our phones, Beats doesn't really do any better than I could do straight with the equalizer, and I do enjoy the extra control. But I'm always willing to try new things. It was neat on my Sensation, might as well see how it sounds on the Galaxy SII... lol.

I am running SlimICS 4.0.4 which is a mix between AOSP, CM9, and AOKP. I can't find this setting after flashing the .zip, but it still works fine.
I tried this out with my Siberia V2 after previously using a different Beats port, and the highs and mids sound crisper and clearer. Also, in true beats fashion, the bass is turned up, a lot. I prefer heavier bass myself, but I still had to disable the bass boost due to how powerful it is. Overall, I feel like this was a very good improvement over the previous mod I used, and especially over stock. Thank you very much for this :laugh:

Well in the change log for that specific rom it says beats audio is already included so I dont think this Mod will do any good if the libs and audio files are already included in that rom.

Now i'm using zetarom (smooth and with an unique theme) but if i install dsp manager i don't see any difference in sound (musicfx is the same).
I'm using stock music player and the only way to have difference sound is to install beats audio mod (but there are a lot of different versions).
Your version will be much better but for some reason DSP Manager doesn't work on sammy (perhaps lib problems ?).

Try flashing this see if it works if its a miui cm9 or aokp it should work just fine.

That's an AOKP Feature , CM9 relies on DspManager for sound so just adjust it to your liking either way for your music you should hear a difference in sound since all the beats audio files are there now.
What this mod does is tells the rom to use BEATS audio files instead of cyanogens or your phones audio files.

That's what I'm wondering about. I tried speaker and headphones and saw no gain. But, I've never been able to make dsp manager 2.0 to work. Dsp manager 1.0 will tho. I even wiped data for dsp 1.0 and then uninstalled it before I installed your version.
My phone just doesn't like 2.0 I guess???

There's definitely improvement on the audio, but I can't control any of the AwesomeBeats "DSPManager" Settings.
Works perfectly with Apollo but is there a way to make it work with PlayerPro?

Yes, im trying to modify it in the next version to disable other 3Rd party equalizers and use Awesome Control as the phones universal equalizer. So far it only works with Apollo, Google music and a few 3Rd party apps but not spotify, for POWERAMP disable equalizer and your set the next version I'll also feature notification beats.

Yes the updater script will delete dspmanager.
Never been tested on cm7 sorry.

To me it seems only DSP manager with changed icons and strings... even sound analysis of the output has only few differences possibly only caused by ambient as I was recording through speaker output
IMHO this is an hoax for all those asking for beats on AOSP/AOKP/CM9
It even explain why you can't have DSL manager installed... you already have it

Thanks but this isn't for sense. Remember beats is more bass than anything if you can't see a difference im sorry this mod didn't work for you.
Btw All feedback greatly appreciated good or bad this is v.3 every update has had significant changes and will only continue to improve

No. I'm on cm9 and it doesn't output any different from dsp manager
And please explain me how could this work without libbeatsbass.so from beats audio

IM using cyanogen libs with a modded wrapper to output beats audio as stated in the OP. Some libs are sense ONLY hence don't work on cm9 I don't release nothing that hasn't been tested sorry that it didn't work for you but check out the SAME post in my Android development thread with numerous one x users as well as other users that it has worked if your rom is using other music/audio mods then clearly it won't work.

I tried this out on SlimICS based on AOSP/AOKP
Made no difference whatsoever and in fact PowerAmp (with DVC disabled) sounds way worse than before. Very flat.
Is this only exclusive to CM9 ROMs and/or specific to the Google Music App?

Lol.. burnsra is cyanogenmod which is modified aosp with certain options that cyanogenmod is known for just like aokp, cna, and gummy are all known for their features..
Androxide is meant to be a pure aosp (stock experience) with extended power menu, and some other rooted features.. it looks the same because like all roms meant for our device its aosp 4.1 jellybean

kernel... i always use CM kernels
