[MOD / HACK] - Fully enable native wifi hotspot AND native Bluetooth tethering - AT&T, Rogers, Bell, Telus Samsung Galaxy S III

All credits of this hack goes to electron73 from THIS post.
Thanks to DrDrrae for the CWM zip
This will remove all entitlement checks on the native wifi hotspot app and will enable the native Bluetooth tethering option which was removed by at&t.
*** I take no responsibility if this process bricks your device. please read the process CAREFULLY before attempting this***
***THIS IS ONLY FOR I747UCALEM BUILD. THIS WILL NOT WORK ON ANY OTHER BUILD AND WILL PREVENT YOUR DEVICE FROM BOOTING***
This process will prevent your device from booting if something goes wrong. Please make sure you do a nandroid backup BEFORE you do this. If you get stuck you will be able to restore.
What you need:
1) rooted device on the UCALEM build.
2) CWM installed
3) The below CWM flashable zip
How to install:
1) Do a nandroid backup - this is a must as we don't have an ODIN restore yet.
2) Download the below modified flashable zip and place it on your internal SD.
3) Reboot into recovery and flash the zip file
4) Done
5) You might need to re-login to your google account after doing this,
If your device does not boot after changing the file, restore from a nandroid backup and you should be fine.

NEW: Link to CWM flashable zip with Cell standby fix: http://www.mediafire.com/?vsepya1lkgud8nt
Enjoy!

Wouldn't it be easier to just do this all through CWM with ADB? Thus no force closes or anything.
EDIT: As I look at the instructions on the original post, he states it's easiest to do it that way also. I'd recommend simplifying such and just doing the instructions for CWM. This will reduce bricks, though if someone can make this into a CWM flashable zip it would be even easier. Live modding files isn't always the best thing to do.
Those instructions are
1) Boot into CWM
2) Go to Mounts and Storage
3) Mount /system
4) Start following the instructions from 4

What you need:
1) rooted device on the UCALEM build.
2) root explorer or any other file manager with root access.
3) The below modified framework-res.apk
How to install:
1) Do a nandroid backup - this is a must as we don't have an ODIN restore yet.
2) Download the below modified framework-res.apk and place it on your SD card.
3) With root explorer go to your SD card and copy the framework-res.apk file
4) Navigate to /system/framework. Mount the file system as RW
5) Rename the current framework-res.apk in this folder to framework-res.apk.bak and quickly paste the framework-res.apk you have copied in step 2 (this must be done QUICKLY as you will get tons of force closes making your device unusbale so copy the framework-res.apk file BEFORE you rename the current file so you will be ready to simply paste the new file right after you rename the current file)
6) After you have pasted the new framework-res.apk you will get a lot of force closes. relax. reboot the device.
7) the device will boot and you will have free wifi and bluetooth tethering.
8) you will need to re-login to your google account after doing this.
If your device does not boot after changing the file, you have done something wrong (probably not copying the new framework file fast enough). restore from a nandroid backup and you should be fine.

I was not able to get ADB working with our version of CWM.
If someone can make this a flashable ZIP that would be perfect. I don't know how to do create one.

Ah ****, you are right....ADB doesn't work through CWM.....didn't notice that. Just a slight niggle. Either we need ADB working through CWM or get this as a flashable Zip.

Here's a CWM flashable zip.

Flashed to my I747 and it worked great, tethering is working great.

[RECOVERY][EC09]Clockwork Mod Recovery

I fixed recovery for the Continuum users so that you have your own button mappings. It isn't integrated into the kernel yet, but I'm going to attempt to get that fully working (I have it partially working atm). Until that is fixed, you get the update.zip method for CWM. So, to accomplish this, you'll need to download two things. First, you need the update.zip file, which is placed on the root of the SDCard (/sdcard/update.zip) and the second item is the recovery kernel, which is flashed via Odin (v1.3). It is now integrated into the kernel and it has been updated to the EC09 kernel. This package will flash both recovery and kernel (so you don't loose CWM when the system boots). Note that if you are still on DL17, you should use the archive packages below. What you will need is this file, and you will want to flash it via Odin (or extract it and use Heimdall).
Open Odin, click the PDA button and browse to and select the continuum_recovery.tar.md5 I400_CWM.tar.md5 file that you downloaded. Remove the battery from your phone, and hold down the volume down button while plugging in the USB cable that is attached to your computer. Make sure you have the drivers installed, if not, you'll need to install them before you continue. Flash the file by clicking start if the phone is detected in Odin. Once it completes successfully, all you need to do is boot to recovery and apply sdcard/update.zip and you'll be in CWM. I decided upon black background with cyan text. This can still be changed if you wish, but I like it
Here are your button mappings:
Camera button/Grip sensor - Select Item (applies to cwm and stock recovery)
Volume Up/Down - Scroll up/down in the list (applies to cwm and stock recovery)
Power Button - Select Item
Menu Button - Does nothing
Home Button - Go Back
Back Button - Go Back
Search Button - Hide Text
I'm still trying to figure out how to get buttons to show up for the touchkeys. For now, they're blank, so just press in the approximate location on the screen for them. We may or may not be able to get buttons there at some point. Also, when you initially boot to recovery, there will be a message about update.zip being gone. Ignore the message as it seems to be a bug. As long as you copied the update.zip from this thread to your SDCard, you should be fine. Enjoy.

Thank you so much imnuts
It works like a charm
and btw, i love the color scheme, lol
This is awesome! Im extremely happy to see great dev work still going on for the continuum!
I'm going to update the update.zip soon then as well to the latest CWM 3.x that we have for the Fascinate as well. Then, maybe look into replacing stock recovery again and hoping it works this time.
im having major problems well maybe not major but i installed cwn but after i rebooted and tried to install a softkey update.zip i lost my cwm and every thing i try to do i cant get cwm back
You have to apply the update.zip every time

Noob question. Is the recovery kernel were supposed to download along with the update.zip an actual kernel?

You need to flash the recovery kernel via Odin, and it is an actual kernel. The update.zip is a fakeflash recovery. It basically kills the currently running recovery and starts up CWM recovery in its place.

The difference is that this recovery has the correct button mapping, where the update.zip that Adrynalyne posted was using the Fascinate's button layout, so things didn't work as expected.
so i can't have both this version of the clockwork recovery mod and the peanutbutta jelly time kernel at the same time?

Yes you can. Recovery is a full kernel, it just boots using a different file and set of commands, and it doesn't start up the android system once booted and provides just a minimal environment. The recovery kernel and standard kernel lie on two separate partitions, and in actuality, this recovery kernel is the standard kernel as well.
New CWM update.zip file. Like we did for the Fascinate about a month or so ago, I'm going to try to get everything moved over the CWM 3.x and Edify Scripting. Here is a new update.zip file to be able to use the most up-to-date version of CWM. I'll also try to keep this file updated as Koush and the rest of the CM team update CWM.
Instructions
1. Download me
2. Rename file to update.zip and put it on the root of your SD Card, overwriting the previous update.zip
3. Boot to recovery and apply update.zip
I may give replacing stock recovery entirely again another shot as well, eliminating the need for the update.zip entirely, but no promises. Also note that nandroid backups made with the previous update.zip file will not work with this version of CWM. If you like having the nandroid backup available, redo your backups so you have them for the new CWM.

[HOWTO] Install CM10 from Stock for Captivate Glide

BEFORE YOU START. I AM NOT RESPONSIBLE FOR ANY DAMAGE OR DATA LOSS ANY OF THESE STEPS MAY CAUSE. ALWAYS FLASH AT YOUR OWN RISK.
Note: Suggestions, comments & questions are welcome. Will improve as much as needed.
1. BACKUP. There are many apps you can find to backup any data. Backup all data you'll want to keep until you're 100% satisfied then move it to a folder on your PC. Personally, I use Titanium Backup Pro and backup everything to Google Drive.
2. DOWNLOAD. A GB kernel, rooted AT&T ROM/Rogers ROM, stock ICS leak, CWM, and then go to the CM10 thread and grab the latest build of the ROM & Gapps. So you should have 6 files total. To make your life easier, put them all in 1 folder.
3. ROOT. Turn off your phone. Hold the top part of the volume rocker and turn on the phone. It should boot into download mode if done correctly. Connect phone to PC via USB. On your PC, install & open Odin. Click on PDA and locate your GB kernel. Then click start & wait. If successful, you should see green and you'll be rooted. I believe whenever you use ODIN, it is called a 'flash.' I hope someone will correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, go back into download mode and now place the rooted ROM in the PDA section followed by clicking start again. When the phone is done booting, go to the Play store and get Superuser app. This allows you to give permission to operations that require root. Make sure it is updated!
4. CLEAN. Now you'll want to wipe your phone to minimize the chances of anything going wrong. Instead of holding the top part of the volume rocker, you'll hold the bottom. Then hold it as you start the phone. This is the stock recovery menu. I don't remember precisely what the options are called but you will want to wipe cache, dalvik, data and system.
5. UPDATE OS. Time to open up that stock ICS leak. When open, it should appear similar to Odin. Make sure your phone is in download mode again, connected via USB and click start again. You'll notice that your phone might take a while to boot up. It'll be updating files and apps so be patient.
6. CWMR. After it's all booted up, time to go back to download mode again. In ODIN, you'll want to click on PDA again and this time flash the CWMR file. Click start and you're done in no time. CWMR replaces stock recovery with the same options plus extra goodies.
7. CLEAN AGAIN. Now you'll want to turn off your phone and boot the phone holding the bottom of the rocker. You'll boot into CWMR. Time to wipe and format again. You'll find the first 2 wipe options on the first page. The wiping of dalvik cache will be in the ADVANCED menu. Then you'll want to go into the MOUNTS AND STORAGE menu. Format system, cache & data.
8. CM10. Now while still in CWMR, you'll need to go into the MOUNTS AND STORAGE menu and select MOUNT USB STORAGE. You'll want to connect your phone to your PC with the USB. Place the CM10 and Gapps files in the main directory of your PHONE'S INTERNAL STORAGE. Select UNMOUNT on your phone, disconnect from USB and now you'll want to go to the option INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD.. then go to the CHOOSE.. option and select the final fruit of your labor, CM10. When it's done doing it's thing, REBOOT SYSTEM. Be patient and let everything load.
9. GAPPS. After everything has loaded, you want to turn off the phone and boot into CWMR one last time. Go to INSTALL ZIP FROM SDCARD, CHOOSE ZIP and flash that Gapps file. Then REBOOT SYSTEM.
10. RESTORE. Reinstall the app you used to backup your stuff, move your backup files you put on the PC back to it's rightful place and restore. You should be good to go.

You've made the same mistake as in your previous post. Step 6 for cleaning up the phone should be after you copy the cm10 and gapps to internal storage or otherwise from cwmr you'll have to mount storage and then copy the files from your comp. If you format system then you won't be able to boot at all.
And after the copy you can do all the format and cleaning and install cm10 and then gapps together and reboot finally.
This guide would be a good help to the new users. Hopefully you can incorporate the changes to correct it.

Sorry, really wanted to play AC3. Fix'd the cleaning stage. I realized I actually did mount the storage. Looks okay, I hope?
Hey, I followed these steps and it worked.
Didn't run into any major problems, except for having to download the CM10 file using my phone itself, I couldn't download it from my computer (found this out in the CM10 post, pg 29).
It really helps to follow OPs instructions, but also read up on all of the individual threads he links to before actually doing anything.
Thanks rogernizzLe!
Glad it helped. Enjoy!
So all the features of the phone works? Physical keyboard, 3G, GPS, WiFi?
Do you have to use the 1 click?
I have ICS installed via CLock work Mod and Have the Lite Kernel.
Should I not just be able to install JB from Clock work mod? I have never used the 1 click installer but I am on ICS with an ICS Kernel.
Waiting for everything to work before I flash JB. Heard there were still issues with the camera.

2.use efs pro to make a backup of your efs folder. make sure you keep it in a save place like on your pc
3.copy your "clockworkmod" folder from your internal phone memory to your pc. that is your cwmr system backup
if your currently running Dman's cm10, make sure cwmr 6.0 is installed.
there is an option under mounts and storage to mount usb mass storage. connect the usb cable and copy your files!
4.while your usb is connected, copy all your pictures, music and other important files you want to save.
after the update it all may be lost!
5.if you're like me and have apps installed that were not from the market, you might want to use a app backup utility
save them and copy them to your pc for later use!
6.open the official ics update zip and extract the files to your desktop using 7zip.
7.open odin3 (right click and run as administrator)
8.Reboot your glide in download mode by holding the volume up and power together,
be sure when prompted to continue pres the appropriate button.
9.You should now see "Added!" in the message box of odin. click the "PDA" button and select the md5 file you extracted.
10.make sure you UN-CHECK all the boxes except for the pda! THIS IS A MUST!!
11.click start. there will be test displayed in message box! wait till you get a green box showing Pass! and in the message box
display "All threads completed (succeed 1 / failed 0)"
12.remove the usb cable and reboot the phone. you now have the official ics update installed stock with no root.
if for some reason you phone gets stuck on the att splash screen, reboot into recovery and do a factory reset!
13.you will now need to re-flash cwmr 6 using the same method starting with step 8. selecting the recovery file in pda.
14.now to root, boot into cwmr and flash Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip. reboot and you should have root!

Or you could do it this way too haha
1. Cleared everything off my phone via CWMR to start completely fresh
(Follow the directions and download the files from here http://androidromupdate.com/2012/09/08/i927uclh2-ics-4-0-4-samsung-sgh-i927-captivate-glide-firmware-upgrade-official-kiesota-stock-rom/ --basically my instructions are the same as these. If you follow those instructions, continue to step 10 of my instructions to root your glide)
2. booted phone in download mode (up vol +pwr)
3. used Odin3 v3.07.exe to flash I927UCLH2_I927UCALH2_I927UCALH2_HOME.tar.md5
4. let the phone boot and activated my account and what not
5. went to settings>about phone, software update
6. and got the OTA AT&T push update to I927UCLJ
7. booted phone into download mode (pwr+vol up again)
8. used Odin3 v3.07.exe to flash CWRM through the recovery.tar.md5
9. restarted the phone
10. went into usb mass mode on the phone
11. put Superuser-3.2-RC3-arm-signed.zip into my external_sd folder (easiest folder for me to get to)
12. unplugged and turned off usb mass mode and turned off the phone and booted into CWRM (vol down+pwr) and flashed the superuser .zip file
13. rebooted phone
Now I have a rooted official ICS 4.0.4
14. I downloaded SuperSu and Root Explorer from the market and my sms+backup for my text messages to get restored
and everything is working smoothly!
next few goals....
1. include dman's EPM mod and Kombatant's tethering fix
2. remove bloat ware and include a different launcher
3. create a cwmr flashable rom!

Sounds amazing. Wish I could do you some good. But I don't know coding all that well other than CSS and a little HTML. No good for programming though. You should have the Navigation Bar, Apex Launcher, MagicLocker, SuperSu, and the bloatware removed all the while making it cwmr flashable. That would be amazing.
Hey does anyone know how to get the 14 toggles bar ? I had it in uclh2 with thegreatergoods build but can't find how to do it specific on our glide. I really miss those functions

It only works on deodexed roms! That's what I'm working on.

Ya I saw that as I read more, I moved my comments into that thread... If we get the smooth sailing theme, 14toggle mod, gps, camera all on UCLJ3 we're going to have a rock solid ICS on our i927's.
I'm reading up on deodex and I'll try it out later this afternoon. I found this guide here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1600805
I would try deox...but I'd probably brick my phone -w-
hahaha
ok I finally have a possible working zip. flashing not to test before releasing!
I have had much trouble with the updater script in the zip!!
update! failed went to download mode. anyone good with the updater script? if so I'll post the zip
I just got busybox, lucky patcher, Rom Toolbox Pro, and Titanium Backup Pro...don't know what I can do with Rom Toolbox Pro though..but..I thought I saw something about something like that haha

I tried! It was able to flash but on re boot went to download mode! I'm using android kitchen .213. After building the zip and attempting to flash, I get a status 0 error!
Sent from my SGH-I927 using Tapatalk 2
I think there is a bug in the conversion from update-script to updater-script in the kitchen!
the only thing I have done to the rom so far is deodex, zipalign, root, install apex launcher and some other useful apps. also removed some useless bloat and a custom boot animation I think y'all might like
Ill post a link as soon as it uploads to google drive! it wont flash in cwmr 6 I get a status 0 error!
How did you get the rom to deodex? I installed it using xultimate but keep getting errors in Email, exchange, mobile print, phone, systemui and a couple of others...
after copying all the deodex files back on the phone and rebooting I have no phone, no email, and heaps of errors :|
I booted up an ubuntu VM and have installed android kitchen hoping it will work ...
All this just because I want to have 14toggles heh .. next twill be the gay animation menu but thats a simple fix.

I was able to deodex by using dsixda's Android Kitchen. running a ubuntu 12.04 system! as soon as I can figure out how to get it to flash properly I'll look into the toggles!
I am by no means an experienced dev! this is the first rom I have done and its just a modified stock at that! Google and xda search has been my best friend in learning!!
I am uploading the zip as we speak, my internet upload speed is slow! but it's getting there. Hope someone can find the trouble in the script!
here's a guide I found that I have been following to get started with my rom!

Blacked out status bar

This is not my work. I did not create this. I only attempted to make it work on stock zvc odex.
Thanks to Scotty_Two for originally creating this for deodexed zvb roms.
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2198755
Adhvanlt helped me to get it to work on my locked but rooted lgog.
Since the release of the zvc update, it didn't work anymore. I loved the look, so I decided to sit down and redo what was done before. This time I was unlocked, but still needed to create an odex file for it. So following the steps I did before with adb I was able to make it work on my stock odex zvc phone.
The link to the zip file is below if you want to try it out on your phone. Again, this was done on a stock ROM.
Install at your own risk
I am NOT responsible for any damages or any bricks.
Make a nandroid backup before using.
Copy the stock LGSystemUI.apk and LGSystemUI.odex files from /system/app folder to your sdcard in case you want to revert back.
To use:
Download the zip file
Extract the files.
Copy the extracted files to: /system/app folder
Change permissions on both files to rw-r-r
Reboot
Enjoy
This is NOT flashable

I tried it on the stock rom unlocked and it works great. Well done. It only takes about two minutes to unzip and replace the original files in system/app. Btw, I would move the original files to your SD card to keep in case you want to go back to the stock look.
Sorry I don't have a flashable version as I don't have the knowledge to create it. If someone wants to either show me or do it, have at it. But a quick swap with a root explorer takes no time at all.
Sent from my phone.
I installed this onto the optimus ROM. I extracted the apk from the deodexed original Scotty_Two thread and pushed it into system just as it says in Scotty's thread and it worked on reboot. Just over write and when system starts failing just reboot FTW.

[Q] Question new 4.3 update to Note 2

I use to be with Sprint and have the Note 2 (Android 4.1.2) flashed.
I see now that the phone is asking me to apply the new 4.3 update BUT since it's been flashed to work with Cricket well I am having doubts
of doing it and pay for the re-flash again or not at all.
I really would like to upgrade but having to pay each time I get an upgrade is ridiculous so I am wondering if I can do a full flash OR root
myself.
I downloaded the Galaxy Note Toolkit 4.10 I believe a few hour ago and I am wondering if this is the right tool to upgrade and root my Samsung note 2???
If not, where can I find instructions (easy ones, even if I have to pay just a couple of bucks) but that would make the upgrade/root very easy.
I hope someone here can guide me what to do or where to go for such a task of doing my own upgrades and roots and backups and so on
Thanks in advance !!!
I am also on cricket with my note 2 but I did the flashing myself.
Couple questions for you.
1. Are you stock?
2. Rooted?
3. Custom recovery?
Now my experience. I got mine off ebay and did everything myself. While flashing custom roms I ran into the problem of losing my flashed info every time I flashed any rom. This turned out to be an issue with the baseband/radio I was using. Once I got the proper one on it was not an issue again. I have flashed everything available for the note 2. Nothing has made me lose my cricket service since the baseband/radio fix.

I did a root but it was a long time ago and frankly I don't remember a thing about it, I am trying to refresh my memory by readung more about rooting. To answer your questions 2,3 is no. On number 1, frankly don't know what you are talking about
I just took mine when I was with Sprint and to a store and they did a (partial I think) flash on it.
I get errors on username/password when connecting to cricket but that's about it.
Right now it's working with cricket and has android 4.1.2 but I want to upgrade to 4.3 and would like to learn(again) to do it myself.
I just need directions on how and if it's possible to do a full flash and root on this phone.
Thanks again
Well I can give you a hand in doing it all. I am at work today but am off tomorrow and will dig up everything you are going to need and put it in a zip on my file host. Then when we are both abke to get together online I will walk you through everything.
Will even help you get data going (although I have not made 3g work only 1x)

The zip should not be unzipped. You place it on your sdcard boot into a stock recovery with stock ROM and choose flash upgrade zip from external sdcard. Although this is not a preferred method the following paragraphs give better options.
Best thing if you want stock rooted 4.3 is to follow lorjays thread. If you want note 3 features use synergy rc3 from his forum. You will not have the Knox boot loader or files (which is a plus) with either. Just read the op of the one you choose and follow the directions exactly. Now 4.3 has its issues (mostly MMS and WiFi which has an Odin flashable fix) and note 3 features kills a couple of things adding contacts (flashable fix for that) and updating profile/prl does not work.
If you have other questions ask here, use Google search, or read both threads start to finish. Everything is covered by those 3 methods.

Sounds great, I have another question:
I found the following 4.3 update : MK4 4.3 Full Flashable Zip
Which is the android 4.3 upgrade software, if not let me know. Anyway, I would like to use that one and if there is a better one let me know and if you have a link to it, better.
I understand that I need to place that zip file in the phone memory, then use the Samsung Skipsoft toolkit to root it and install such 4.3 software???
Let me know if I am thinking right on this...
Then that's it. I will have a fullly rooted cricket phone with andoird 4.3
Am I in the right direction?
Thanks
Thanks:thumbup:

First off go into setting, about phone and give me your baseband/radio info. Depending on what this shows we might have to do a few other things.
Below are the steps to get custom recovery, backup current rom, and install tw 4.3. Although I want you to do some other things first just in case you lose your cricket flash. So read over the steps below and if you feel comfortable doing those then I will PM you with a couple of links to software and steps to make sure you have the needed info to reflash in case you lose your cricket info.
Okay I got the files and links you need.
1. Hope you have the drivers but if not these work on windows7 64bit (if you are using other windows version let me know and I will see what I can find) http://d-h.st/77G
2. CF-Auto root Which contains the Odin version I use. Just extract the files and then place the wifi patch in the same directory. If you need help using odin just ask. http://d-h.st/Twx
3. Wifi patch. You will flash this using Odin (put phone in download mode to use odin, power off then press vol-, menu key, and power at the same time) http://d-h.st/eo8
4. Custom recovery (philz modified cwm recovery) This will flash, backup, and restore every rom available for the note 2 without any issues
http://d-h.st/users/philz_touch/?fld_id=29060#files This is the download site choose philz_touch_6.01.2-l900.tar.md5
http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2552653 this is the xda thread for his recovery
Now that you have the base tools time to go through the steps of upgrading. First you want to have 2-10 gigs free on your sdcard (if not backup your sdcard to your pc and then delete till you have 10 gigs free, this is needed to backup all your internal sdcard data)
1. Pick the Touchwiz rom you want. Plain stock 4.3 which you have the choice of odex pure stock or deodex (only known issue is mms, use any 3rd party mms handcent, gosms, hangouts, etc..) http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2541395 or 4.3 with note 3 features (again has mms issues) http://the-plattypus.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=1&p=1#p1 r3 is the version you want to download.
2. Place the rom you want on your external sdcard (sdext)
3. Power off phone and then enter download mode (press and hold in this order vol-, menu, then power) it will take you to a warning screen press vol+ and continue
4. On PC extract the cf-auto root zip. Place philz_touch_6.01.2-l900.tar.md5 file inside that folder along with the wifi fix file. Now run the Odin3-v1.85.exe
5. Click on the button that is labled PDA then select the philz_touch_6.01.2-l900.tar.md5
6. Connect your phone to your PC and you should see a com port listed in the odin app
7. Click start and it will flash the recovery and reboot your phone.
8. It should reboot into the recovery app if not power off the phone and the press and hold vol+, home, and power. It will boot into recovery.
9. Now you want to backup your phone. Choose backup and restore, then custom, custom backup job, (you want to select ((put X beside)) backup boot, backup recovery, backup system, backup preload, backup and-sec, backup modem, backup /data data, backup /data/media)
10. Now select start custom backup job, backup to /storage/sdcard (this will take a long time)
11. Now go back to backup and restore, custom, custom backup job, and only select efs (now your phone is completely backed up)
12. Now choose Wipe data/factory reset, clean to install new rom
13. Now choose Mounts and Storage, format /data and data/media
14. Now choose Install zip, choose zip from /storage/sdcard then select the rom you decided (lorjays or synergy)
15. After install reboot to system.
16. Once it boots up hold the power button and power off the phone.
17. Reboot into download/odin (vol-, menu, power)
18. Connect to PC and open the odin program again
19. Click on the PDA button and choose wifi fix, then click start
20. Phone will reboot and then you will setup the rom
Now you have a rooted Touchwiz 4.3 rom
If you have any questions please ask before you start the process!!! If anything goes wrong your phone will be unusable till you can get me or someone else to help you. So please ask questions first!!!

Thanks for the steps, really appreciate it.
Ok. I might do it tomorrow since it's late here already but here is what I have done on my own so far. I hope I didn't mess anything
I have used the Samsung Note 2 Toolkit as mentioned in some of my previous messages and did the option 2 which is a
Root/Unroot option and selected the ALL IN ONE[ Flash insecure boot, Recovery, Root, BusyBox, Rename Restore Files ]
After following the instructions it rebooted and it is now rooted but still using android 4.1.2
I am thinking of using synergy-n2-4dot3_r3.zip since it's looks better and as you mentioned, has Note 3 features :fingers-crossed:
I am going to upload it via Kies Air to the phone the synergy-n2-4dot3_r3.zip file.
Tomorrow will continue...
Here is the info from the about:
Model: SPH-L900
Android version : 4.1.2
Baseband version: L900VPAMC2

Well, I did it !!!
I am trying the Synergy rom and so far it's looking great.
I wish I had 4G LTE capabilities since my cricket plan does allow such feature, but before I had 3G and it's working well so far.
If any trouble arises, I will post them.
Thanks !!!
Your welcome. If you have further questions feel free to ask away.
