White Galaxy S3 with Pebble Blue back! - Galaxy S III Accessories

Ever since I saw the Galaxy S3 announcement, I've had the idea to mix and match the two "all natural and made for humans" colours. So I got a white phone and started looking for a replacement back in blue. At first, it was impossible to get a pebble blue back without buying a new GS3. But eventually, I found one on ebay.
The cover I bought: http://www.ebay.com/itm/380448215137

Thanks, I'm interested in doing this.
I'm going to be annoying and complain, though... Why the extreme closeups? I'm really having problems seeing what it really looks like, I think your pictures are pretty bad quality! Are they taken in low light? Some of them look very yellow.
Better pics, please, mister Blurrycam? Thanks for your effort! (Sorry for complaining!)

So I found 2 sellers on ebay advertising this... do you mind sharing which one you got it from. Would rather run with a confirmed legitimate back cover. Cheers
And to the previous poster I'd hazard a guess it is damn hard to have a distance shot that captures the sheen/colour of the pebble blue especially in the same shot as white (too wide a contrast range) not to mention the brushed metal finish...

Might go the other way and get the white one for my pebble blue model
Linky please ?

I want to buy the original batterycovers aswell.. as backup . Could you provide us with a link where to buy these?

I can take some photos in better lighting once the sun is back. However, if I take a picture from a distance, it will just either look like an all white phone. The blue back isn't visible when I lay it down.
I don't have a real camera.. only a ton of phones. I took the pics with my Galaxy Nexus :x Maybe the Galaxy S IV will be good enough to photograph itself?
Anyways, I updated the thread to have a link to the buyer on ebay that I purchased from.

i agree. I can't tell how it really looks bc they are close up shots.

if youre going to take the time to do photos, at least make them so we can see what youre taking a picture of.
ive seen interest in this, bu have none myself. hope it satisfies others though.

You could take a photo of it with a mirror behind

Added a few better pictures, tried taking some with my GS2 instead of Nexus. Not that good, but it's the best I can do until I get some sunlight...

nice i like it

Weird! I would have liked the front to had some kind of bluish in the front to match or a custom back cover which will have some white/blue combination

Looks odd but I love your efforts.

your phone reminds me a liger...

I want mine in red, white & blue!

Lighting really wasn't the issue...pull that camera back a little bit. Too close.

Wide/Macro Lens for the Evo

Some of you might already know about this, but I just read an article that talks about a set of macro/wide lens that's compatible with the Evo. From the picutrestaken with it, it looks pretty terrific.

Please do. I'd like to see what kind of photos can be taken with that wide angle lens, even if I have to hold it up while taking the shot.
i'm interested to see how your dealings with dealextreme go. i've never even heard of them
They are good but shipping usually takes 3 weeks. I have a jewelers eyepiece that does the same thing as these macro lenses. The one I have is only 1.5x you can buy then at 10x and more. You can buy them for a penny on ebay:

Dang, that sucks to hear. I was hoping it would be a strong enough magnet to stay at least somewhat firmly attached. I guess you can't expect too much for something that wasn't specifically designed for the Evo.
In any case, it's cool though!
Pictures look fantastic. If anyone gets this let me know how it goes I am so close to pulling the trigger its only ten bucks....
yeah, i went ahead and bought it last night too. i figured 10 bucks...no big whoop. i've thrown away that much just in old produce last week, lol

Quite simply is there a reason not to love their weird selection of products. I've bought so much stuff from them that I have NEVER been able to find anywhere else. I think this company is great.
Looks like fun!
I placed my order, not to worried if they dont stick on there perfectly, they are fairly cheap, do the eyeglass pieces stick to the Evo as well or were those pics taken while holding it in place?
Did anyone find the red macro lens that was in the pictures from engadget?
so, has anyone received one that they've ordered yet? mine says it is 'in packaging'....lord only knows how long that is going to take...

expect to wait a bit, that's why shipping is free and it's so cheap. probably 1.5-2 weeks, as that's what happened when i bought a cheap fling monkey scream toy from them last year. that being said, at this price it's still pretty sweet.
on a side note, can anyone recommend any of the ones from that first amazon link? i'd prefer to have it shipped quicker and pay for higher quality if it's reasonable. thanks in advance!

All I did was put the camera right over top of the jewelers lens. The macro shots are more of a novelty for a camera phone. I've always known about this and maybe tried it out 3 times tops on cell phones. Like I said you can buy the jewelers lenses for a penny on ebay, and they are much higher quality and you can pick the magnification.
Theres a product called jelly lens that does the same thing as this except it uses like silly putty or something around the ring to stick instead of using a magnetic ring

How Do I Make Front of the Galaxy S3 Black?

is there any way to make the front white plate of the galaxy s3 black? is there a sticker or plate do make this happen?
I would have done the same thing because I have white galaxy and looks a lot bigger than it is. I did not want to get purple, because purple is ugly and idiots did not make beautiful black (possible matte black) like everyone else??? At least i wana change or repaint back cover?!?!?!
Sorry on my english...
fear not. this works really well
it's a bit operator dependent though. just take care when applying it.

Try using some 3M style vinyl and then cutting it with a razor to fit. Same as they do for car wrapping. You may damage the phone doing it, but I don't see any other way

It's difficult to advise you on something this subjective, but just know that the decision is never set. You can buy the white housing on eBay and switch for cheap. If you're on the fence, I'd get the white, because the grey housing is much cheaper on eBay. That way it's easier to switch if need be. Personally, I got the grey because I already have a white iPhone.

Relax, I was playing with you. But think about your question here. You know with white electronics there's always a chance it will fade to yellow over time, so there's really nothing we can tell you that you don't already know.
Like white? Get white (I bet it's gorgeous). If not, get the standard color, it's a great phone.

I wish I could help you, but I haven't personally used the white version (or any white phone, ever).
To those telling the poster it's entirely subjective are ignoring one of his main questions:
Does the white Galaxy Nexus change color over time? For example, like the original NES's tendency to yellow. I don't find it likely, depending on the quality of plastic and dyes used, but I don't know the answer personally. I do know that most lighter colored plastics, particularly the more cheaply made ones, do tend to discolor over time. I can say I agree with the poster above me, pictures of the white Galaxy Nexus do indeed make it look good, and it stands out from all of the grey ones.
As far as whether the white disturbs you while watching videos or anything like that, that kind of question is definitely one that only you can answer for yourself. Sorry that I can't be more help.

I have the white and it looks amazing, If you want the oem extended battery, then get the black bc there is no white battery cover. I end up buying an extra oem battery as an alternative option.

I like the white one personally. If you are scared about keeping it white, just get a case to keep it protected. I plan on using an otterbox case when I take it to work to keep it clean, and just using a white tpu bumper to protect it otherwise.

I also put one of those clips that fold open to slide your fingers thru so you can text with just one hand. Saw it on YouTube and had to have it. $25.00 for that plastic clip but very well made and works great.

Any body used an Urban Armor Gear case before?

Hey there
I was wondering if anyone had tried the Urban Armor Gear case for the HTC One? From the looks of it, it's fantastic and nothing like I've seen before which makes it not only great looking but also very unique. The black/white mix is just amazing and I have read great reviews about the durability and quality of the case, however I'd like to hear your opinions about it since I will be dishing out A LOT of money to order it online (shipping, taxes and customs) and also waiting a long time to receive it.
This is the one I am talking about:

I got the HTC Double Dip Flip cover when I first got the device and I like it, however I seldom use the kickstand feature and in all honestly it adds a lot of bulk to the device. When I take it out of the case, I feel like I am using a different phone. The case does help, though, when it comes to the phone heating up and such from use which can make it a bit uncomfortable as I have very pale, sensitive skin.
You don't have to have used it on the HTC One, but perhaps maybe a Samsung, an iPhone, etc. since I know all the cases will have similar qualities, price tags and bulk.
Any advice and/or information would be appreciated.
Thank you!

It should be noted that I have the black one and noticed that pictures are also washed out a bit when using the flash... I think it has more to do with how close the case fits around the flash/camera.
Otherwise, it's a fantastic case, and probably my favorite case of all time. It looks and feels very well made.
Thanks for the replies. I will check out the dedicated thread.
Regarding the flash issue, I am not much of a photographer, in fact I rarely ever take pictures, and when I want I could always just take the case off until I am done, so that's not a big deal. Have you thought about cutting into the flash area, though, so that it wouldn't be covered like the camera isn't? I am sure that could work.
I have the black version and it's awesome. Just get it.

Take a picture in a dark enough environment that the flash comes on, then take the case off and take the exact same picture. You will see the difference. At least I can see a difference. It isn't bad, but noticeable.
