[Q] Display messages in lock screen despite having notifications disabled? - HTC One X

Hi there.
Using Handcent SMS, I've disabled the news message notifications in the builtin messaging app.
With that, I lost the message preview in the ring lockscreen, obviously.
Is there any way to have both?
Meaning, having the messages previewed in the lockscreen AND not be bothered by double message notifications? (one for Handcent, one for stock app)?

disbale HTC SMS/MMS notification when using Handcent

i like Handcent but one thing that has always bothered me is that even though handcent notifies me of texts and i read/reply and the handcent notification goes away, the default HTC/Android messaging app is still running and showing the notifications in the notification bar.
how can i remove that crap, its so annoying to have to go click the 'clear' button in the task bar every time i get a text even after i have replied to it with handcent.
again this is the default HTC messaging app that is notifying me, not handcent.
Turn off the notifications
Since handscent and the stock messaging are separate applications they use separate notifications. However, handscent still gets its information from the messaging application. So it is as simple as turning off your notifications for messaging in the message setup. It wont hurt handscent at all. Just open up the messaging application and turn off all your notifications by hitting menu and settings and notifications (i think). Then you wont get them anymore.
This should solve your problem.

any way to stop dual notification by 2 sms apps

I installed handcent sms & I have been getting two SMS notifications for each SMS I receive, I have selected handcent as default app for sms yet the second notification comes through as a totally separate sound notification about a second after the first.
In notification pull down menu I see both handcent & stock messaging apps notification.
There must be a way to stop this but cant figure out how.
go into the stock messaging app and turn off notifications...i use SMS Popup and it has its own notifications and you have to turn off the default app notifications or you get duplicates
Wrong Section.
Turn off notifications in MMS.apk (i.e stock app)

SMS on Lockscreen

I want a way to stop my SMS from appearing on my lockscreen, I tried to find a way to turn it off. I am a privacy freak and i don't want my messages appearing while my phone is locked...can anybody help me?
You can have it hidden it'll just say new message but that includes for notification bar as well its in the settings of the messaging app
Yeah I don't understand the sms notification. I wish you could just disable the lock screen notification. It doesn't function the way I wish it did. It also makes all other sms widgets on the lock screen pointless.

[Q] Annoying Lock Screen Notification For Messages and Calls

I was wondering if anyone has found a way to remove the notifications from the lock screen that come from the stock messaging and dialer apps?
I want to use the stock sms app but the notifications take up an entire widget panel when I have an unread message and I simply prefer to have my clock of choice always in default.

Settings Crashing?

If I go into Settings, Sounds and Notifications, Ringtones and Sounds and select Messages Notifications or Calendar Notifications they both crash the settings with a message "Unfortunately, Settings has stopped" Any ideas? The other ring tones setting and notifications sounds are all fine. Restarting doesn't seem to help and the phone isn't modified in any way other than using the google now launcher.

Click to collapse
I had this problem as well for Messages notifications when I used package disabler pro to disable the built in messages app (I use a 3rd party SMS app), once I re-enabled it, it started working again. so these sound/notification settings are hardwired into the default messenger and calendar apps it appears..
