One X Camera - Bit Of A Disappointment. - HTC One X

EDIT: to clarify here, I'm after people's opinions who have moved from other devices such as the iPhone 4/S, Galaxy S3 etc.
I bought the One X with high hopes and, much to my dismay, the camera really doesn't exhibit the sort of quality that HTC suggested it might. Whilst the wider aperture IS noticeable, the overal lens quality is I think very average. I certainly noticed the difference between shots taken on my S3 and the One X. The most irksome thing though is that the One X compresses images so badly, yet allows no option to change it.
I still think the lens quality of HTC cameras is below par. It might be my imagination but I still see a dull, smeary quality to images taken on the One X. It's a massive step up from the Sensation, sure, but is anyone else a bit let down by the image quality on their device?
Just as an example, I took a shot of the same view in my messy, fairly dully-lit room on my One X and my old iPhone 4. It's worth noting that the iPhone image is 50% larger in size than the one of the One X, despite the One X having a 62% higher megapixel count.
http://db.tt/rGo7L0wZ
http://db.tt/SDrPvKGe
I'm not wanting to slate the device unnecessarily - I still love it! I just feel a bit let down with the image quality, given how hyped it - and ImageSense was. Maybe HTC should change their lens supplier

How many camera applications did you try ?
I think its known that the original htc camera app does too much compression.
There are alternatives, as more threads to this issue. Did you check them out?

@Op,
I find it a bit disapointing to see people keep opening threads without doing a little search first.
There already exist a lot of threads about the camera, it's a waist on the board.
Please ask yourself what are you trying to succeed with opening this thread, what kind of responses would you get?
Yes, no, yes, no...?

Get a grip, there is no need to be a moody sod just because I said something negative about your device. I think it was perfectly constructive. I searched the forums and there is no such thread other than one about Sense Versus AOSP.
I just wanted to see if anyone else was a bit disappointed with the camera, and what suggestions they might have, as well as what their opinion is if they've moved from another device.
I like using HDR and haven't found a third party app yet that allows me to do so.
Besides which, shouldn't HTC have released a camera app that excels in the first place?

[REQ] New AOSP or HTC style camera app

Hello xda,
I've condensed this thread down a bit...
Point being despite HTC's minor improvements in the camera app since it's release, many Evo owners on here including myself find that the stock camera quality leaves much to be desired.
Some small steps have been made on the dev side of things to improve audio etc, but there is bad compression, bad stabilization, bad audio quality when recording loud environments, and horrible quality in low light.
Im not getting on a soap box, the Evo simply doesn't compete with it's droid brethren for the most part.
Depending on what is involved, I started this thread seeking either a new app built from the ground up, or some serious software improvements made to the Sense cam.
I'm sure there are many technical problems to overcome to make this a reality, but hopefully with the talent that is xda, the Evo can one day take decent pictures without needing perfect light, and 10 minutes to focus the thing.
Here are some ideas towards improvement:
1) First and foremost, a clean UI, being on an Evo, HTC style would be nice with the charcoal black, and reflections, but then Transparent/translucent would be even nicer. I don't want an iClone, but their UI is simple and easy to use, and IMO aesthetically pleasing, CM6 on the other hand looks outdated as does HTC's silly menu access, and zoom bar.
2) Good Codecs... I'm sure things get tricky here. Do we have to use open source codecs, and drivers? Are there limitations here that laypersons like myself don't understand? Are there royalties involved, and why did HTC/Android use the codecs that we currently use... The audio codec used now is from NES era, and bumping up the khz just may not be enough. CM team is already proving there are workarounds for this.
3) I hate Qik, and I hate Fring. Each app contains good things that the other doesn't, and I don't want to compromise. Neither should you. There should be a better app, and that app should be integrated into the Camera app. If I'm taking a video of something, or if I decide I want to video chat with someone while my Camera app is open, it would be nice to make one click on the camera UI, and have it bring up a call function. Full screen image, with thumbnail for front camera, NO walkie talkie button to talk. Again, think clean and simple.
4) Swipe to zoom, and Touch to Focus (TTF). This should be the standard, for both video and camera. And while I'm using the video recorder, I'd like to be able to do both if possible. Not have to zoom, then hit record. That's crazy.
5) Some kind of image stabilization. Whether I'm taking videos or pictures, it looks like a crackhead with Parkinsons shot it. I do suffer from the shakes a little but for c'mon, I've seen better image stabilization on Walmart cameras.
6)Integrate a more user friendly Gallery, like 3d gallery.
The gallery from HTC looks like it was ported from my other failure of a phone, the Instinct. If the developer is savvy, they could sell some kind of photoshop, or video edit add-on to give us creative control, and focus the main app on usability and quality. Save the editing stuff for later.
7)Add volume button control to take pics/vids. Having physical control on such a large phone is definitely handy. No pun intended.
8)Ability to shoot raw, (or close to uncompressed) pics in addition to better compression as a whole. The sensor supports raw, and people would love to have this.
9)While I haven't used it personally, a lot of people seem to want panoramic ability, and seem to love it.
10)HDR capability
11)Control over the flash intensity. A major problem is that the flash is super bright during dark shots... This usually results in washed out useless pics unless taken at distance. We know we can control the flash steps using the flashlight, so a way to step it down is needed.
This is the idea list.
It seems people will pay between $10-$20 for a good functioning camera app, that we don't have to install a different rom to utilize. I don't expect perfection, the phone's only been out a few months, and Android a few years, but come on, the source code has been available for a couple months now.
We have the hardware to do this, and camera apps like Vignette, Camera 360, and others are just simple overlays with edit functions, not true dedicated hardcoding, that alters the way the computer perceives the color and light entering the aperture.
Thanks everyone for entertaining my rant. Let the bumps begin!
I would gladly pay $4.99 (In Rubles) for a good functioning camera app

Well, I'm definitely glad somebody else has finally brought this topic back to light; as far as I know there have been "some" gains but not as much as it could be. I recommend starting a bounty to show devs we're serious about getting this out off the ground.

Summary: My phone isn't a Canon 7D with video conferencing like in the show 24 or a gallery app like Microsoft Surface. Fix it and I'll pay seventeen cents...EVERYONE JOIN ME.
*sigh*
PS: You could always take up programming and do this yourself, you know.
Cyanogen said on twitter recently he its working on the camera ui a bit. He knows the menu system is a mess.
Fixing the ui graphically (theme) would be easy, doesn't require much serious programing chops.

You know, it isn't all that silly to compare the iphone 4 to the evo's camera. Hardware wise there both from the same company. And if model numbers mean anything, shouldn't the Evos CMOS sensor suggest its better?
iPhone 4: Omnivision OV5650 1.75u BSI 5MP, RAW sensor.
HTV Evo: Omnivision OV8812 1.4u BSI 8MP, RAW Sensor.
So yea looking at there specs, i think were getting a crimpled camera experience. HTC just doesn't know anything about cameras, and/or GPU's . judging from there lack of GPU acceleration woes with winmo lol.
Edit: Who would like to take RAW HDR photos on there evo? xD, if the iPhone 4 can do it, so can we. Just gotta wait for some community development to kick up.
Wow, okay I see this subject is delicate so I'll try not to be my usual sarcastic self so much when posting.... Minus the trying not to be sarcastic.
Lighten up guys. I was joking about the rubles, and serious about the idea.
Edtate has the right attitude, and has been actively involved in this discussion for months now. Optimism and creative spirit are what's needed here, then we hand that off to the guys with the ingenuity. See how that works?
The whole reason I started this thread is because ideas become convoluted, and die out without an end goal and creativity driving them.
I don't want to start a bounty in open source community, there has been much of that lately, and it seems to result in much conflict. It also defeats the purpose of open source development. Like I said tho, I would pay about $5 for something that meets (most of) my requests, as would others.
And no, I don't want a Cannon dslr, just want my phone to perform on par for it's specs, and advertisments, let alone its competition. The point is in the details which I pointed out in the OP.
Finally, I just want to say that naysayers always nay, that's their duty. The rest of the world says "let's do this". I'm not a programmer, and don't really think Id learn quicker than someone who already can, which I why I started this. Those who wish to help, feel free to get in on this.
I have good management and organizational skills, as do many others here, that alone tells me its too early to give up on this idea.
By the way if money is your incentive, build this app. People WILL buy it.
And, as I said previously its only silly to compare the iPhone outside of the camera HW.
Other than this, I believe our hardware is more than capable of giving the same experience as the iPhone or other modern phones. After all this is supposed to be the Evo 4g, the phone with superpowers!

but at any rate. This is reassuring, if all of the differences on camera quality is being dictated solely by software, then surly we can do something about our camera woes.
P.S- Compared photos taken with my Evo pitted against my friends HTC HD2, i got so embarrassed. something from a winmo phone was doing a gazillion times better than my evo could. No grain, better flash, amazing color depth (even in low light conditions), no yellowish tint, just pure natural color. What was HTC doing when they RUSHED the Evo out the door?
I would definitely help with UI if thus had some lead.

Wow, maybe I should have paid the 99 for an HD2 after all. One of the main reasons I got this damn phone was for the stupid 8 mp camera.

Ok I'd like to help with this. I suck ass in java (only did it like 7 years ago for high school) but I've been studying it again for android. I've only made one app, it's unreleased and unfinished but hey it's something... I can work on the basic gui though. just draw up something on a paper and post it on the thread or email it to me. ( pirokosan at gmail dot com ) I want to get this started... Tired of the stock camera and I hate sense.
yes i hope the devs will see this
Camera's fine toy with the settings
from the fade
I support this idea, I used to take amazing pictures with my Blackberry Bold...
I would surely pay $10 or more if this app went on sale.
I'm a flickr addict. This phone is 8mp. I'm sure it won't compare to my 450D but I bet it can damn well come close to making my point and shoot pointless.
I'd gladly switch to aosp if this app becomes a reality.

This excites me that somebody is trying too get the ball rolling with this! If I knew anything about these other than flashing ROM's, I'd be all over helping get this developed. For now, I will just stand on the side cheerleading (and bumping thread).

lmao @ comparing HD2 to the EVO....
Maybe you could part this in the Incredible forums too? Hell give me a better camera and I'll pay $10
Sent from my ADR6300 using XDA App
Well, the main reason I support this is because with a custom camera app for the evo will more than likely mean a custom camcorder app; to which we've been trying to unlock its full potential for a looooong time.
@op-I understand how you feel about bounty threads, but guess what, they work. This is a tangible feat, its not like we're reverse engineering proprietary software lol. All we need is a kick in the right direction, to which I'm willing to start of nothing comes out of this thread.

App that augments what is shown on the screen to match corrective lenses...possible?

Full disclosure: I'm a bit loopy after getting my wisdom teeth out, so I may not be thinking straight, but I have a quick question about an app idea (I'm assuming this would be the correct place to post). I have no idea if something like this is possible, but could an app be created that mimics the functionality of corrective lenses? As in, if you specify whatever your eyesight is, something other than 20/20, could the app augment the way things are shown on the display to compensate for that? Physics is probably working against me here, but I figured someone on XDA would know if this could be done.
Personally I have horrible vision and I can look at the camera and see perfectly fine since it makes the image all of a foot away instead of the twenty feet that it really is... I hope that makes sense to others.
Sent from my Incredible using XDA App
That is true...I guess this wouldn't be very useful since the phone will be close to the person using it
So you're wanting an app that makes the phone and it's fonts do the correctiveness.. This would be cool, and should be possible for very basic eye problems, but the dev may have to assume both eyes are equally weak or the same prescription, but allow customizing per person.
The dev may have to be savvy on optimity.

Yeah, that's pretty much it. I don't really know how to do it, it was just an idea
I think it would be cool.. You know how some far-sighted users can barely read anything at arm's reach.. Like they need longer arms.
It would be cool...the question is, is it possible?
I was thinking, with all the high-res pc screens being around for so long, and a pc app like this has not been created, yet, I don't think this would be possible on the lower resolution if the phones.
Another reason this may not work [well], it's that my father-in-law used to use a manual-focus camera and film. During his final years , he continued to shoot pics without his eye glasses and he would focus to his naked eye. The end result was a blurry pic that even looked burry to him.
I write this example to sample the complexity of the issue.
I think this is possible, but terribly complex from person to person. I may have access to a doctor at work for their feed back.

For all members asking if they should buy the One X. Video that answers your FAQ's.

A video below of a well known tech blogger who gives his impressions and thoughts about the galaxy s3 and he compares it to the One X. In short words he states that the One X is hands down the better phone in build quality, overall design is better and for a flagship phone the One X feels more premium and in all aspects beats the S3.
So this for all the members out there who are debating to go for the S3 or One X check this video first and well you should have your answer.
Would like to say this is not to start another flame war thread this is merely to point out to new users that this thread is to give pointers to members who open threads and ask about if they should buy the One X or not. So rather than opening pointless threads and asking come here instead and watch the video and this should make your mind up. Feel free to comment and ask your questions here. Please do not open threads asking if you should buy it or not. Ask your questions here
Enjoy
I'm getting crazy about these comparison threads....

dude i am not whining. i already have the one x. this is basically to show people the reason why they should get the phone and also this is a thread were people can ask all the questions they want and ask regarding why they should buy the One X. Simple as that..No moaning or comparing..
and another thing. would you prefer people opening pointless threads all over the forum asking if they should buy the phone or not? is it not better to have one thread were they can ask instead. this is the whole logic behind this thread and just give them the above video that clearly states why they should go for it and answers most frequent questions people have anyway. So no whining, no moaning and no comparing.

Forgive me if I seem a bit cynical, but a large number of your posts in the HOX forums are about the S3, so you can't blame people for thinking you have a hidden agenda.
It's almost like you're trying some sort of bizarre brainwashing technique - mention the S3 as many times as possible while at the same time denying any affiliation to it and people will start to think it's better in some way.

no you have every right to be cynical. and yeah i was leaning towards going for the s3. but like always when actually sitting down and thinking about it and reading alot this time around and reading posts by Hamdir and reading his threads about the One X there is no doubt that i have one of the best phones in the world and i should stop being a cry baby.
my anger and my moaning was due to all the issues i had with the One X so far. but after being told that they are rebuilding my phone from scratch in repair center and sticking brand new parts and reading posts in the comparison threads and the video above in the end there is only one winner and that is the One X..and i thought i share this video and to others who was in the same position as me can see why the One X is better..Hope this clears it up a bit more...and i still stand by saying that this as well can help people who wondering about the one x that here is the best place to be to find out why they should go for it
The guy in the video doesn’t even have a S3 on hand to review, all he did was summarise what he read on the web.
Personally had the S3 came out around the same time as One X, I’d have gone for the S3. But after playing around with the S3 in the shop, I don’t see any reason to sell my One X (running smoothly on custom rom) for the it.
However, the S3 screen is just as good as the One X IMO, have advantages of unlocked bootloader, likely longer screen usage time and expendable memory/battery.
I think Samsung made the wrong decision to make their flagship phone with 4.8” screen. When I was in the phone shop, a lot of people was interested in the S3 but was not sure about the large size. Samsung don’t have a similar performance phone with smaller size like the One S.

I also have problems with the HOX and a the moment its on repair the second time (i also got a new one with baaad screen ripple effect). The S3 is a nice phone but its not great like the HOX. Im really annoyed about the quality management of HTC and shame on them they released a phone with such f***ing issues like screen flex/ripple or screen loose.
In the end i decided to wait until i get a good one without any issues, because i freaking love the HOX, especially the screen and the unibody which feel pretty noble. I dont care about getting additional free space like micro SD(and come on 32 GB is more than enough) neither the possibility of changing the battery. This phone is sure one of the best phones the smartphone market will have for quite a period of time.
My advice to potential buyers is they should try it in a store and decide if they like it or not.
So thats all for now.
@goku have fun with your one x if you get it back ;-D.

Like i keep on saying. I will not lie..I was seriously rethinking of selling my one x and going back to sammy. but after reading user experiences with the handset and actually playing with my friends one for a day i am glad to stick with my one x. plus the video in OP sums up the reason why i suggest to users who open up threads asking why they should buy this to have a look. Now you tell me that it isn't to compare it to the S3? I mean I know this is a one x forum and most will agree with you, but let's say what it is. I've watched blackprince310 forever in fact, I'm one of his subscribers. But I can give you easily 5 links that show people comparing the S3 and the one x and they're saying it's better, and they actually have both phones in hands! I'm not trying to make it look like Im hating on the one x, my one x has shipped from handtec YESTERDAY and just cleared customs in the US. I've spent a little more than 600$ on it so there's no reason for me to be a hater. If you want to help people make a one x purchase, you should point out the things where it excels at, not providing a vid of a guy GIVING HiS OPINION ON THE S3 release. It makes no sense. Sorry bro.

Lol, it's inevitable. The thread itself was a mistake cause it's not helping people wanting to purchase the phone, just trying to prove that the S3 is a disappointment and that the one x is better. That's not how you try to get people to buy a new device. Ok I'm done
I've looked the video and its not "all" realistic because hi has no S III but it's his opinion, and I must say that I agree with him.
Hi praised the hardware, which is good.
What really bothered me was the comments that the people wrote.
It's disgusting.
It looks like now a days almost nobody buys a phone to suits his needs or what he prefers but just to show of or out or Fanboyism !!!!
As soon as one make a bad comment about the phone and is not other ones "brand" or "choice" than he's: "retarded", "f...", ............... !!!!!
For the new phone buyers.
Go to the shop and compare the phones there. Make a decision. If you cant decide doe to the technical side come and ask. Bare in mind that the answers that you get can be different. If you choose S III and you ask in this forum you'll be disappointed of your choice . The other way around too ( One X on the S III forum). As for how it feel, design and all the rest, decide your self. It's our phone.
I myself, don't have One X or Galaxy S III but I've played with both and they are not my choice
I have One S
Sorry my bad English.
Goku can I just ask what specific problems you had with your HOX? I seem to have a few but if I send it back to HTC I'm worried they'll try and blah me off. I have over heating battery, all the time, even worse when on charge, dead pixel, yellow tinge when battery is hot, lol which is all the time, battery life is shocking, I'm on the latest update and tbh its worse than when I got it, and I get the rainbow effect when I touch the sides of the screen (i don't know of this is what people are calling rippling?) Reckon they'll swap it for a brand new one?
Samsung did make a mistake by not releasing a smaller screened performance phone alongside the S3 however the S3 is on another level to the HOX.
That is all

Converted from One X to GS3 - Impressions

Don't flame. This is a constructive thread for those considering the GS3. I had both the International and AT&T versions of the HTC One X. Below, I'm going to list the benefits/disadvantages of both from my perspective. Hopefully this will help those of you who are on the fence about this.
HTC One X
Issues
Multitasking - No need to beat this to death. It simply didn't work as expected and while not a deal-breaker, it was very annoying, especially after going back to a phone where it works normally.
Bluetooth - I had all kinds of Bluetooth issues, from the connection to my car stereo, to others you have read about in the forums. I could live with most of them, but, again, annoying.
Exchange E-mail issues - Periodically, the mail app would just stop receiving exchange mail from both of my exchange accounts. It's like it would go to sleep and not wake up until I manually refreshed. Both the AT&T model and the International model did this. It was very frustrating, and kind of a deal-breaker on a smartphone for me.
Power button - Minor niggle, but I hated the placement of the power button and it was recessed a little far for my liking.
Battery - My battery life was okay, but not great. I was expecting miracles based on the battery tests, but my experience was that it was much less. I could make it thorugh a day with light-medium use, but just barely. I'm honestly not sure whether the Tegra or S4 did better. The S4 seemed to last longer with use, where the Tegra had better idle time.
Positives
The Screen - While I don't have any issue with the GS3's screen, the One X is just that much better. The SLCD2 screen is just that good.
Sense - Love it or hate it, I liked the optimizations that Sense added. Especially the social integration and the direct plugins to Dropbox and, on the International version, Skydrive. I will sincerely miss those.
Look and Feel - The One X was a good-looking phone and felt solid.
Camera - The GS3 camera app is okay, but the One X was definitely better with respect to burst mode and shutter speed. Not having to switch to a special mode for burst is priceless and the GS3 takes a few seconds to focus sometimes, where the One X did not. That being said, I think picture quality is better on the GS3.
Galaxy S III
I'll be the first to admit that I initially had no interest in the GS3. It looked like a barely better Nexus to me when they first showed it off. But then I got my hands on one.
Issues
Camera shortcuts - When you set up shortcuts in the camera app, they don't stay. Kind of defeats the purpose. The Galaxy Note had the same issue, so it seems to be something Samsung just hasn't fixed.
Seriously, that's it (so far). I have tested the hell out of the International version and have an AT&T version coming next week. I have yet to find any other faults or issues with this phone. Build quality is subjective.
Positives
Power button - minor, but I like the way the power button feels and it's easier to access with the index finger with one hand on this phone.
Face Stay - Seriously, how did I ever live without this? I hate when the screen dims while I'm reading. Face Stay works really well.
Dedicated menu button - This will matter less as time goes on and developers update their apps, but you get all of your screen real estate right now because there isn't a strip being taken up by that legacy menu button.
Notification light - The one on the HTC was rather dim and hard to see. In addition, it would stop blinking after a predetermined amount of time. The GS3 has a much better notification light, much like the one on the Galaxy Nexus.
Battery Life - Has been superb for me. Granted, it is much larger, but it doesn't make the phone heavy, so the more the merrier. It easily beats out both of my One Xs in battery life. I can't wait to see how the S4 model does.
Everything just works - This is something I took for granted with the One X. I wanted to keep it so bad, that I started making compromises and "living with" the issues it had. On the GS3, I have no bluetooth issues. I can stream Slacker in the background without it dying. Multitasking works great, and everything just works as expected (and intended), including exchange mail.
Bluetooth Voice Dialing - This was taken off of the One X for some reason, but I'm happy to report that it works and works well on the GS3.
Ultimately, both are great phones. Having used both (and variants of both) for several months, these are my impressions. Your mileage may vary, but I hope this helps any of you who are on the fence about which one to get or whether to change phones.
I've got both and gave my gs3 to an employee.
I disliked it.
Loving the One x.
Give it some time and you will also notice its downfalls. The honeymoon will be over.
1 fault??
Check their forum now after a few weeks of public testing. Looking more and more like the one x forum used to.
Your post would have been better off in the GS3 forum however...

It's going to be skewed in either forum. If I posted it there, The GS3 owners would be fully supportive. I see a lot of threads in here with people asking if they should switch to the GS3, so this seemed a more appropriate place.

yes but if you dont buy the HOX for its Tegra features
you didnt mention speed or gaming
so yea the GS3 might be better for so let me list my own negatives of it since i got hold of it for few days
- the incredibly annoying physical home button
- the horrible feel of the back side with its greasiness
- it simply has zero class compared to the look and feel of the HOX, it also feels bulkier in hand
- those pen-tile pixels
- the entire goofy style of the water drop sound and ring tones
- Touchwiz simply ruins ICS and doesn't give something in return unlike sense
- games not as impressive as our THD babies, ripetide was nothing compared to ours in terms of effects n speed (60fps on HOX)
- yes it has no lag on the launcher but it has its own kind of lags
what i liked
- the brushed fake metal material around the frame of the blue version is not bad actually, good enough to foul you
- the bigger proportion of the screen
- brute performance and gaming for non optimized like the stupid Gameloft catalog
- screen on times are better
and thats it for me, i rushed back to my 60fps Shadowgun THD + super dense SLC3 and instantly felt better
conclusion i didn't miss in it, in fact i wish my wife carries so i can enjoy its good side but never can replace my turbo charged beast, also conlcusion the SGS3 is a simpler out of box experience but the HOX with little modding effort shines
I had a SGS3 all last week and sold it on Saturday . It was quick but it felt like a plastic toy ,far to light and not nice to hold and the screen isn't as good as my One X.
It will suit some people but no way I'd give up the solid feel of my One X in my hand for it

Your first three points are subjective. I find that it feels better in the hand than the One X, as do some other reviewers.
As I stated, the One X has a better screen, but people blow the pentile thing way out of proportion. I also don't agree that Touchwiz ruins everything. It does add some functionality with respect to contacts, smartdialer, etc. and arguably makes the interface more user-friendly for novice (or previous iPhone) users.
I don't play games on my phone. It's simply not a priority for me. I have an iPad for that. Tegra 3 games are nice, but I suspect the Tegra 3 will get left behind much as the Tegra 2 did.

Not that I'm surprised, as there are way too many rules for everything, but that's a ridiculous one. A post like this would not reach the target audience in Android general. It's much more relevant to current owners of either phone.

many of your points and the fact you don't play games is also subjective
i thought you are innocently posting to tell us your feedback
and this is my feedback
why are you arguing again?
@Op, it's hard to find the correct section isn't?
@Moderators,
Can you please move another anoying thread to general section?
Thanks you very much!

It's called a discussion. Not every conversation is an argument just because both parties don't agree.

bottom line you post is in the wrong section
how can this be constructive thread if its meant to convince people to move to S3 in the HOX section
anyway its closing soon

A few points you make there actually make sense to me now having the iPad and I take it you had an iPhone? .The SGS3 actually does feel like an Apple product it's the first thing that went through my head when I unboxed it .
One X to me feels a lot more solid and just a better build.
But I do hope you get plenty of enjoyment out of it
It's not trolling, wake up and use the correct section.
I've reported this thead.

Great. Now someone just needs to report you for being an asshat.
You would need to read a document the size of War and Peace to try to conform to all of the rules of where and how to post on this forum. If the mods want to move it, then fine. But I can do without your sarcasm and your non-clever quip about it being a "useless thread". If it's not relevant to you, then don't read it.
That's ok, I requested to move this thread but it would be even better to close it as many people opened a thread like this before you.
Use an existing thread I would recommend.

Since you seem to take this so personally and don't have anything better to do, I suggest you chill out. I'm sure there's another crusade you can join somewhere.
If this is somehow a duplicate, it isn't the first and won't be the last. Just take a deep breath. It'll be okay.

Camera....info

Guys,i really like the phone and i was ready to buy an s7,but after i saw the op3 and i really like it!!!The only point that is stopping me,is the camera....i saw videos where the camera was quite good, and videos where it wasn t.......suggestions about that?Tnx....
the device wont have as good of a lcd or camera as the s7, no doubt about it. but the reviews i saw even from android central says its really good for the price. also keep in mind the s7 wont have much if any development.
Let's see what dxomark (reliable?) will say about it? I'd say it will get 83+ points.
Gotta wait for real life experiences...
you can check the camera samples here:

Thanks for the post, those look more than adequate!
Results of the camera seem to vary. I saw some really nice ones on Phonearena and TechnoBuffalo, but subpar ones other places.
